Re: XSEED Announces The Switch Games It Will Showcase At E3 2019

Morrow

OH!! Akiba's Strip sequel?!?! By the looks of the icon, it seems they are returning to 1's original formula, instead of that trash Akiba's Beat sequel. A true sequel! Please let that be on Switch, shoot I'll buy it on PC if it doesn't come. I can't skip on that title.

I'm also pumped for Rune Factory 4 Special.

Re: Video: Digital Foundry Ponders A Witcher 3 Switch Port

@60frames-please You are the most rational and logical frames lover I have ever seen, and I have much respect to you for that. Your entire statement makes complete sense. Yeah, I agree that it would be nice if all games could be a stable 60 fps, but I'm not going to pass up an amazing game if it's not.

About Ys 8-----It might be because of your smart tv that Ys 8 looked worse. I just had a normal HD flat screen, not smart or 4k---and it played beautifully. The enemies in the distance were choppy, but when you got closer (about 20 feet away i'd say), they ran perfectly. I think my biggest complaint about Ys 8 on Switch is that the foliage looked terrible, while everything else looked nice. I never had a single frame drop the entire playthrough of Ys 8 on Switch, and I beat it on Nightmare difficulty, and I played it as fast as the game could make it play. My movements were always super quick, and I never really slowed down once in gameplay. If a game can handle fast paced, I'm not going to take it slow, lol. Ys 8 has the ability to be more fast paced than even Ninja Gaiden, if you can react quick enough.

Re: Video: Digital Foundry Ponders A Witcher 3 Switch Port

Morrow

@Trajan It was only on the Switch version. Yeah, I could understand being bothered by it. I just thought it was funny though. They sped up when you got closer, so it didn't bother me. If the enemies would have been that sleep when fighting them? Then I would have been mad about it.

Re: Video: Digital Foundry Ponders A Witcher 3 Switch Port

Morrow

@SwitchForce Agreed. The people that are saying this are just 'frames per second' addicts, or Nintendo haters. As long as the game has a stable frame rate that doesn't interrupt the gameplay (Rime is an example of a game you can say is bad, because of the frame rate ruining the gameplay), it's fine. It can be 30 fps and still be enjoyable. I played Ys 8 on PS4 and beat it on Switch. The game didn't drop a beat with the frames, and was always able to keep up with the fast paced gameplay. That game had 30fps and yet it felt more smooth to play than games that have much higher, but less stable frames. I played Doom on Switch as well, and after all the updates, it as well became enjoyable to play. I wish people would pay more attention to story and gameplay, rather than be frame crazy. Yes, frames can effect gameplay, but most of the time it doesn't. Even when people say a game has low frame rates, (usually referring to anything under 40 fps) the gameplay doesn't get interrupted. The only time frames are going to bother me, is when it affects my physical actions in the game, such as failing to dodge on time, messing up a jump, exc.

Re: Video: Digital Foundry Ponders A Witcher 3 Switch Port

A list of games people said Switch couldn't handle that are on the platform
*Doom
*Wolfenstein 2
*Warframe
*Paladins
*Hellblade Senua's Sacrifice
*God Eater 3

Games people said that Switch can't handle, that aren't on switch yet, but companies said they could make it work/considering a port to Switch

*Monster Hunter World
[Iron Galaxy company said they are confident they could make this game run good on Switch, and actually requested Capcom to hire them. Capcom has ignored them though.]

*Code Vein
Bandai themselves mentioned they were originally planning on making a switch version, but they had to decide between Code Vein or Dark Souls Remastered. They went with DS. However, now that development for the other consoles is almost done, they once again said, they are considering a Switch version, after they finish the other console versions.

This is to show people, don't assume you know what can and can't run on Switch. You aren't a developer. You don't work for the game companies. The only ones who can say it cant run, is the ones who are making the games. Technically most games COULD have the potential to come to Switch, with the right team, compression, and money backed up behind it. We have seen it time and time again this statement being proven by Iron Galaxy, Panic Button, and even the actual developers themselves.

You want to know an impossible port? Final Fantasy 15 on Switch. Not because of the graphics or gameplay, but because of the engine. Luminous engine is a horrible engine that Square even admitted was difficult working with the PS4 and Xbox One versions. They said the engine on Switch just couldn't work, and their attempts at getting it to work failed. That's why they even dropped the Luminous engine, and are making a new one. Because it is a garbage engine, and gave them problems, no matter what console 15 was on.

Morrow

I'm very happy with this list. My baby Xenoblade 2 made it in the top 10! Ys 8, and Disgaea 5 also made it in the list. Shout out to the Jrpg love on this list. It's good to see Monster Hunter and Arms made it in too.

Re: New Trailer And Release Date For Gunvolt Chronicles: Luminous Avenger iX

Morrow

Azure Striker Gunvolt is my favorite 2D game series ever, and I don't even like pixelated games. The game graphics are barely passible, but they always have very nice animations from cutscenes, and skill cut ins that it makes it more pleasing to look at.
The real catcher is the story, chars, and gameplay. I love the lore of this series. Even if some of you hate the visuals of gameplay, give these games a chance. They are awesome! I'm stoked for this.

Re: Dead By Daylight Slashes Its Way Onto The Switch This September

Morrow

@Heavyarms55 That's true. I still think it deserves to be called a horror game considering it scared the hell out of me. That game gave me nightmares for weeks, literally. It F.E.A.R. 1 was the most scary game I have played in my entire life. The atmosphere, Alma, ghost monsters, demons, exc. They are all done perfectly to give you that chill factor.

Re: Dead By Daylight Slashes Its Way Onto The Switch This September

Morrow

@Heavyarms55 Yeah, I won't play horror games unless it's unique, and have a way to fight back. I hate those 'run away because you're useless' style horror.

So far I played
*Resident Evil series
*Last of Us (i think this counts because of the clickers and such?)
*F.E.A.R. series
*Hollow
*The Evil Within 1

[ If anyone wants to recommend a good horror game based on these titles, feel free, and I'll give it a look.]

Re: Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes Is Being Ported To The PlayStation 4 And PC

Morrow

@Silly_G Yes, because I only bought it to support switch exclusives. I wasnt really that interested in it because of the Isometric view. If I knew it was coming to Steam, I would have waited until it hit a Steam sale, then bought it. Because outside of exclusive, it's not a game I would want to spend much money on.

Why spend money on something you think is meh, you might ask? If exclusives sell well, more exclusives can be made. Of course the system has to sell well too, but the exclusives selling well also helps.

You also contradicted yourself. You said you agree consoles should have exclusives, but we shouldn't need multiple platforms to enjoy our hobby. If Switch and Ps4 has different exclusives we like, then we need both systems to enjoy them.
I personally don't mind that. I honestly wouldn't be as interested in gaming, if there wasn't any exclusives

Re: Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes Is Being Ported To The PlayStation 4 And PC

Morrow

@westman98 No, that's not the reason. When you own a game available only on that platform, it makes you feel special. It gives a face to that otherwise baseless box. With Nintendo, you look at the system and see hope for a new cool Zelda, Fire Emblem, Xenoblade---With Sony you look at the system and see hope for a new Ratchet and Clank, God of War, Uncharted, exc.

Without exclusives, we all mine as well be on PC. PC is stronger than any system, and always will be. Because consoles will always be a few years behind (because of development time).
PC also has controller support for virtually any controller. Switch Pro, Xbox One, Ps4, Ps3, 360, and even have their own controller.
You could even connect your desktop or laptop to your tv, while using your contoller, to give the simulation of having a console.
To me, exclusives are the only reason to own a console. Sure, I love the Switch's portability aspect, but that's not the main reason I own it. That's just a bonus. I own it because Nintendo made it, and I can be assured it will have their IPs I enjoy.

Re: Star Ocean: First Departure R Announced For Nintendo Switch

Morrow

I wonder if it will be an upscaled psp game (similar to MH4GU on Switch), or if it was made for the ground up for Switch and Ps4. I'm also curious what these new features might be.

Unpopular Opinion: Star Ocean Last Hope, is my favorite in the series. You're basically an anime Shepard, being captain of an awesome ship. I liked the chars in that a lot too.

Re: Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes Is Being Ported To The PlayStation 4 And PC

Morrow

@SBandy I was mainly being over dramatic for comedic purposes on making a bad joke. If I was going to get ride of it, I would just sell it. Damn man, that's waste of money to just throw something out the window, lol.
I also said I would only do that if we lost Nintendo first and Second party IPs Like Xenoblade, Zelda, Fire Emblem, Splatoon, Astral Chain, Daemon x Machina, exc. Now if those games went to anything else other than Nintendo? Oh yeah. I would sell switch in a heart beat.

Re: Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes Is Being Ported To The PlayStation 4 And PC

Morrow

@nhSnork You are very right on that statement. No company without contract is bound to keep their word. However, it is respectful to keep your word. I care about companies that respect their player base and dislike companies that don't.
I agree that all companies have to survive, but there was better ways for them to handle it.

Also, I have no idea how to image tag LOL. How tf do you do that? XD

Re: Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes Is Being Ported To The PlayStation 4 And PC

Morrow

@SBandy There isn't, based on how they speak of it. I just think Grasshopper should never make exclusives, until they are stable and on their feet.
They are too small of a company to make Exclusives, so it was bad on their part to announce it as such anyway.
It also wasn't fair to the audience to make it think it was either.
Like I said, I only bought it on Switch because it was announced as an exclusive.
Otherwise I would have waited to buy it on Steam during a sale, because I wasn't super interested in it anyways.
Lesson learned though. I'm not trusting small companies anymore when they say exclusive.

Re: Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes Is Being Ported To The PlayStation 4 And PC

Morrow

@SBandy Yeah, don't get me wrong, I do think some third party games should never be exclusives, and RE is one of them. I care about a company doing well too, but only if they are honest. I don't care about companies that policies are all about only making money.
For companies that are not confident on their game selling well, just announce it as a timed exclusive or multi plat right away.
