I dunno, seems pretty generic. Does the video show the actual camera, or is it played from a first-person perspective and that's a spectator mode? If it is first-person, I feel like it'd be better suited for VR.

Japanese 2DSes are 100 bucks on ebay, so not too bad I guess. You can easily softmod them to play US games.

@iLikeUrAttitude I can't find any reason not to hack a 3DS besides the feeling of having a clean console. You can get other region's models for cheaper. You can play games from other regions. You can backup your save data. You can emulate NES, SNES, GB, GBC, GBA, and every other 2d game system.

@Clyde_Radcliffe I never had a Dreamcast but apparently there are some really good games on it like Crazy Taxi, Jet Set Radio, Sonic Adventure, Typing of the Dead, etc. It would be awesome to play those games on modern platforms. We've already played the Mega Drive games to death, maybe it's time for something new.

When I was younger I loved the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Wii game. The minibosses are harder than the final boss, but who cares? It was pretty fun.

@gcunit Xbox has never done well in Japan and the Genesis was mostly geared towards an American audience. But I am surprised that there is no PS4, and that 3DS outsold PS2.

In Japan, Dragon Quest is extremely popular. With a 3DS you can play VII, VIII, XI, and the DS games like IV, V, VI, and IX. Not to mention all the spinoffs, which are cool as well.

@samuelvictor Yeah, I've heard that SEGA's steam classics are really cool because they basically just give you the rom to play on whatever you want.

I'm just really excited to play Sonic 3, I've never played it before. When was the last time S3&K was released? Maybe it was the DS collection, but I'm stupid because it wasn't. It has still been a while though.

@kkslider5552000 It's not cool to copy stuff, but the Cuphead knockoff was much worse. Don't get me wrong, this isn't good either, but I feel like when you copy indie developers who poured their love of old cartoons into their game in order to make a quick buck, it's worse than making a Zelda-inspired one.

@samuelvictor Niiiice! Do you know if Christian Whitehead is working on it? Because he made the engine and the mobile ports, he would probably be the best person to do this.

I hope they're able to get the engine right, apparently they're not going to be emulated.

@khululy The Nintendo Switch may be the ultimate walled garden, but the Steam Deck is a Gaben Haven.

I used to think that the HD version was kind of a waste because you can play the Wii version on Wii U, so I didn't get it. But the graphics are WAAAAAY better! Especially the textures. Look at a comparison photo and it's awesome. Also, I'm pretty sure it has the gamecube sword controls but the Wii's pointer/gyro aim. If it came to switch I would definitely get it.

@WeLiveInASociety Japanese systems are quite cheap. You can buy one off of eBay and hack it to play games from your region. I recently did this.

@Thaliard Yeah, I think that it wasn't really the name, it was really a mismatch of the audience of Wii and Wii U, and generally the Wii U not knowing what it wanted to be.
Casual gamers didn't want to get Wii U because they already had a perfectly functioning Wii that could play all their games.
Hardcore gamers didn't want to get it because they didn't want to get the successor to a system they didn't feel was targeted at them.

@Folderoll I love the Wii U and I still play mine a ton, but you have to admit that it was a dismal failure. I think that's the reason why so many of its games are so great. Mario 3D World, DKC: Tropical Freeze, Mario Kart 8, these games were all attempts to bring the Wii U up. They mostly failed, but they are great games.

@CharlieGirl Yeah, honestly I think the majority of NES games have not aged well. There are still great games on there that hold up today, like Mario 3 and Punch-Out, but most of the library is frustratingly retro.

People say that Genshin Impact is a copy of Breath of the Wild. I disagree. Breath of the Wild is a fun game.

@Chibi_Manny That would be ok but not much more. Endings is more of a direct antonym to Beginnings. Also, it has that crunchy alliteration that makes everything better.

Basically no-one got to play the remastered editions of these games. They have free remastered editions sitting around on Wii U, it'd be a great financial decision to bring them to Switch.

@KimBread Earthbound 2 would probably be it. Earthbound Endings does have a nice ring to it. Itoi said that he's done with the series, so that should be pretty future-proof.

A couple months ago I paid a couple bucks for no ads on the Sonic 2 mobile port. Good thing you can redownload delisted apps on the App Store.

@RupeeClock Oh. I don't have a regular 3DS, so I can't say anything about the comparison, but it performs fine for me.

Honestly, on a New 3DS system, this port is not bad at all. It has crouch walking and Yoshi, and it's pretty great if you want MGS3 portably.

Definitely related to Mother 3.

@Rhum17 Mario Kart and Smash share this trait. You beat all your friends and you think you're really good. Then you go online and jimmygamer99 beats you in 30 seconds.

Mario Kart Wii was one of my favorite games. I loved the wheel! I was terrible at the game!

Wouldn't it be cool if they gave us the Sonic Jam versions of the games?

I have Sonic 2 on mobile (bought the no-ads thing) but otherwise don't have any of these games. I have never played Sonic 3 (and Knuckles), and apparently it's really good, so I'm probably gonna get this!

S3&K would be nice to play on Switch or something. I think it doesn't get ported a lot because of legal issues, probably because Michael Jackson did some of the music or something.

@HankScorpio @Anti-Matter In many cultures, it's normal to have people live with their parents for a long time.

I think I'll wait until it comes to HBO Max or Hulu or whatever. I didn't love the first movie, so I don't think this one will be worth the theater trip.
