I chose the Wii U era. Nintendo was in a bad place, so they had to crank out really good games. It's kind of like the GameCube. Both the Wii U and GameCube are considered failed consoles, but look at the libraries! Huh?

The Wii/DS era was close.

@OrtadragoonX I'm not saying it's a bad game. I'm saying that it's probably not the best to start with. Link to the Past perfected the 2D Zelda formula, and most/all later 2D Zelda games were based off of it. Zelda 1 has its charm, but it requires the player to chip at it for a long time if they don't have a manual or walkthrough.
If someone played it as their first Zelda, they might say, "man, this is lame, I'm gonna go play mario."
Because the game is so unique, someone who starts with the original might not like it, but might really enjoy Link to the Past, which most of the games are based off of.
The first game someone plays in a series has to represent that series. For example, you might not want to play Metroid Fusion first because it's linear and doesn't represent the Metroid series overall.

For a lot of series, first is not the way to go. Zelda 1, Metroid 1, they haven't aged very well. I find that the third game in many series is very good. For example, DQ3, Mario 3, Link to the Past, Super Metroid. Usually I start close to the beginning, but not at the beginning. However, if it's a newer game, like Halo, I start at the beginning of the series because it's newer and has aged better.

Not a button, but I HAATE the switch sticks. A combination of the sticks not feeling good and drift make me dislike them. The Wii U Gamepad and pro controller's sticks were perfect.

Hopefully the success of this game will inspire Nintendo to make more 3D platformers.

@Strictlystyles I think that generally, if you're just a normal player. these controllers aren't really worth it. The SNES controller has the same buttons as most switch controllers. N64 is the only one that I believe is worth it.

I think it's fake. I did a whois search on it and the Konami website, and the information is completely different.

I love Mario Odyssey and really want a sequel but DK hasn't had a new game since the Wii U era.

@ModdedInkling Yeah, I unsubscribed from NSO. Now I just play the NES and SNES games I want to play on my 3DS. Now, if they add GCN games, maybe Wii? I would totally get that.

@Specter_of-the_OLED I think that the TMNT collection is still better though. Most people won't touch the majority of the games here. Also, no Ms. Pac-Man is kinda stupid.

@StarPoint I just liked to play Miitomo and take stupid pictures. I think that was a thing you could do.

@Not_Soos I agree. I don't think it's really a racial issue. I'm Asian. I don't like this movie. Just because a piece of media caters towards a specific demographic, and you dislike that piece of media, doesn't mean that you are hating on that demographic.

Also, I really disliked the Mulan remake. They took everything special about the original and threw it in the trash. What used to be a fun song is now a creepy conversation. Instead of hard work and brains, Mulan now has magical powers. I hated that movie.

I'm not good at bullet hell games but maybe this is my chance to get good at one. I've never seen a 3d bullet hell.

So it's like the combat from a bullet hell, puzzles from Zelda, and town exploration like Pokemon! Cool!

I've only preordered once, and that was for Mario 3D all stars. I preordered it the day before release mainly just to be able to play it as soon as it released. I don't regret it. I preordered because I know that Mario 64, Sunshine, and Galaxy are all terrific games, and I hadn't played them yet at the time.

But for other, new games, nah. Preordering is stupid. Why pay for something that you know will be bad?

I haven't played this. If they released an HD port for Switch, I'd definitely buy it.

@Paraka I don't care for Fortnite but I think that some of the story stuff was cool and unique. Mainly just the black hole thing, that was a great idea. Kids were probably talking to each other at school like "hey man did you see the Fortnite thingy?" and so EVERYONE was playing when they revealed chapter 2.

Also, they're donating all their profits to Ukraine for the next couple weeks, which is cool.

@BloodNinja I hate most mobile games. Especially the ads. Some games are good though. I have the Escapists port. Also I have this 2012 Spider-Man game on my iPhone. It's not great, but it's open world, and it's a decent spider man experience on the go.

@sikthvash I agree. Also, isn't Words with Friends just a mobile ripoff of Scrabble? Which is a board game?

Honestly I like the original Coconut Mall better. The original sounds fuller. This one sounds a bit crunchier and leaner, which isn't a good thing. I also like the instruments better in the original.

@Patendo Huh, I've gotta try it sometime. I think I have avoided it because it was made by Capcom, not Nintendo. Capcom's great but I wasn't sure how well they could handle Zelda.

Also, Zero Mission is great! It's the only Metroid game I've completed so far. It's short, but that means that there's no fluff - it's all awesome.

@Wexter You know what I appreciate about Reggie?

When the Wii U came out and Nintendo was doing badly, that was a great time for Reggie to leave. He didn't have to deal with getting Nintendo back to where it was. But he didn't leave. He stayed with Nintendo for a while and left when the Switch was dominating handheld gaming. He could have stayed for many more years and made a ton of money, but he didn't.

Also, I dislike GameStop. Years ago, it was a place of wonder for me, where I was surrounded by video games and consoles. Now, there are no DS/Wii games and the section for Fortnite plushies takes up more space than the 3DS section.

@MarioBrickLayer Yeah... I feel like a lot of the metaverse stuff is just old people in suits going "The kids'll love it!" They don't understand video games, they just understand that gaming is big right now and they can make a bunch of money off of it.

I don't care how long it takes them as long as they put out a good product. Maybe they don't want to show us more until they feel great about what they're making.

It's cool that they're improving it. I still haven't subscribed because I already have all the games I really want (OOT and MM on 3DS, Mario 64 in 3D all stars). If they added GB, GBC, and GBA, and lowered the price, I might purchase it. If they also added GCN, that would be a no-brainer.

Hmmm, what's a Nintendo game that's never been released outside of Japan? An RPG that's considered one of the best in its genre? A title stuck on the GBA? One that has inspired countless indie developers?

I think that aggregate review score websites like this and metacritic are foolish. The score isn't what matters to me because what's important to the reviewer might not be important to me. I care about what they say in the review, the pros and cons and stuff like that.

For example, for a 3DS game review, if a game is ranked lower because the 3D effect is bad, that's not important to me because I have a 2DS.
