Japanese television program Pokémon Get☆TV has revealed a few seconds of footage from the upcoming Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire titles. During the 40 seconds of footage, Kyogre and Groudon were shown in a three-dimensional environment, similar to that of Pokémon X & Y. It was also suggested that these two Pokémon would be receiving a Mega-Evolution, but no confirmation was made.
That is all the information we received from this program. The release date was again mentioned to be November 2014 and the cover art was shown. The full trailer from the official Pokémon channel is below.

This is definitely better than nothing.
But there are also definitely way more things better than this "footage". Hopefully they show more on E3.
That was stupid.
Getting it. I wished they showed more, though.
Ah well, may it be short I'm still super hyped.
That half-hour live stream was mostly ads and cutout anime.
We went through trozei gameplay nobody cares about, ads nobody cares about, man baths nobody cares about, Pedophile pink suit guy nobody cares about, man getting buttslapped by kid who nobody cares about and anime nobody cares about for a 30 second teaser.
Biggest ***king waste of my time.
They should of not shown this if thy were not going to show off anything. This disssapointed so many fans.
still laughing here.
I was expecting gameplay footage, it didn't really reveal anything. anything else would've been OK, like if May is still alive in this canon or if she's been Lyra-nized for the sake of merchandizing....i mean Emerald already dealt with the weather duo clashing in-canon before with a lackluster climax....it didn't look ominous in 3D, unless that was supposed to be battle footage?
Or assets from Pokemon-amie could be re-purposed for Sinnoh-style contests with Dancing, Dress up and attack moves. or even if Trainer Customization lasts longer than XY. :c
Trolled hard.
Ouh
Game Freak has been trolling us for years.
This "trailer" is just one more reason why Nintendo should've waited until E3 to drop this remake.
MOAR OIL!
Anyway this did disappoint big time.. especially with what we had to endure during up to the stream..
Pokemon Oil Ruby and Natural Gas Sapphire!!
Some people should stop overreacting
This was never posed by Nintendo to be this large worldwide, livestream event, you all posed it to be that way, with your high expectations as usual.
Wow since the morning I've been waiting for the article of the game play footage to show up but instead we got a little bit of the intro. Oh well who cares it still looks pretty sick.
@DestinyMan I'm pretty much love Pokémon more then any other series barring only aselect few. And this wasn't a disappointment it was hilarious. I've watched clips from these types of shows before and knew we wouldn't get much, especially with E3 sosoon. People getting upset are the ones who rewatched the stream. Can really felt them for being angry though. They expected to much.
@LichiRichi Big time.
@Phantom_R I wish they waited too but at the same time I don't. Because now everywhere is buzzing with hype and expectations. Could've raked a little closer to E3 though for the reveal though.
I estimated 8.4 seconds of footage and I was pretty darn close
@Silent Meanwhile I had a blast, haha
I think some people were expecting a bit too much. They said there would be footage; they never said how much footage it would be or what it would show. Until I saw the headline about watching the announcement live, I just assumed it would be a really small thing, nothing too informative, and that's pretty much what it was. We'll get more footage/information in due time.
@Kyloctopus
I agree! Even though i will get some hate for saying this:
I am Satisfied with this, it's The community's fault for getting their hopes too high and yet still Blaming Nintendo and other despite The community just staring at the screen, even though they could've just ignored the Anime and Ads until The footage came out..... -_-
Glad I didn't watch the stream.
If they are going to deliver most of the info around the world around the same time (aside from CoroCoro leaks), like they did with X and Y, i'll just wait for them to share the info in english.
I think it's safe to say anyone who defends nintendo on this one are the most literal definition of nintendrone. That said, I am still psyched for this game.
@Kyloctopus has a point, you guys have no one to blame but yourselves on this one. You guys were expecting far too much from a pre E3 showing.
@AlbertoC I'd almost say it's worse. I wasted half an hour watching stupid Japanese TV and all I got was less than a minute of a cinematic, not even gameplay. I don't want to sound entitled, but if I'm gonna invest that much time (keep in mind it's watching Japanese television) I expected something a bit more. Heck, reading the chat on the side was more interesting.
@2Sang totally agree. I wasn't expecting much. But that was just inexcusable. The TV was loud and obnoxious, even by japanese standards. And all we got was a 30 second cinematic telling us nothing new.
@ZeroZX_Dev Well not that I personally watched it but I presume Nintendolife knew it would be like that.
@2Sang
Wow...Good job stereotyping people Who have different opinions than you....
That's like saying anyone who calls anyone calls people Nintendrones are instantly Sony/Microsoft Fanboys...
My main beef with this was the ad didn't show anything new. It literally just showed Groudon and Kyogre. If I wanted to see them I could just look in my PC box. Not only that, but I had to sit through half an hour of obnoxious japanese television to see it.
@GalacticMario28 It wasn't so much the footage, but what we had to sit through to see the footage.
@Memeboy3
Lol, every time. Every time something is revealed there are those that will stare at the screen for literal days just to catch it live, and the longer they stare the higher their expectations climb. The only reveals or events I bother to watch live is Nintendo's annual E3 presentation. Everything else can be watched after it's aired and posted on the site.
Fact of the Internet:
If you defend Nintendo, you're a Nintendrone/fanboy/etc.
If you criticize Nintendo at every turn, hate half of their products, and spout the same unfounded argument over and over again in a forum instead of playing games on a system you prefer or going to a fansite of your preferred company/system/etc., you are a normal person.
LOGIC.
@AlbertoC I would argue not. Maybe if you didn't watch the stream it is. But for us who did. We had to watch battle tropezei footage, creepy adult man in a pink suit, and man baths. To sit through all of that I was expecting something more.
@2Sang
"Anyone who defends Nintendo on this one is a Nintenddrone". Right. Because NINTENDO was the one who aired this sneak peak, right? Oh wait, no it wasn't. It was some Japanese television company who aired it. But hey, it's about Nintendo's game so let's just go ahead and blame them. Blame them for everything else anyways :/
Idk, it aint that serious to me. I'm not disappointed because I never treat little sneak peaks as worldwide reveals. I read a headline that a short clip was released, I watched the short clip, and I got a general idea of what the game looks like and what the main 2 Pokemon look like. Couldn't possibly be a waste of my time because I only spent 40 seconds watching it.
@Silent It wasn't even a real teaser. It showed groudon and Kyogre doing something. I could make something more interesting in pokemon x.
LOL so short....
@Vrael I don't get these sorts of complaints. No one /had/ to sit through anything. Any information to come from that airing would've been--was--posted nigh-immediately at a number of places, like this site. No one was forced to sit in place for an hour and endure wacky programming, and there's really no advantage to doing so.
That said, this was indeed some weak, disappointing footage.
why is there no sound...? I want a refund!
wow that sneak peak was so amazing all jokes aside.I wished nintendo waited till the E3 to show off this game.
This was Obama's fault.
is it me, or does this trailer have very poor sound?
Seeing the comments, I laughed immediately. I mean, this is just how Pokemon Get TV works, and it shows its program in thus way for years. Anyone who is familiar with this program should expect no more than what just happened. Well, maybe next time, when posting the news about upcoming Pokemon Get TV, explain the program more and lower audience expectation.
I guess GameFreak abandoned the infamous trumpets and decided to go for static for the soundtrack of the full game. Not buying this piece of trash remake.
@Superiorspider, So you got butthurt, because you watched 30 minutes of a small Pokemon TV show, So you will not buy the Decade-Awaited game.......
Genius... ;D
@Superiorspider
You shouldn't llie
you guys did not wait for nothing, you were entertained/freaked out by Japanese television, and that was more then worth the experience of watching a live chat freak out when a kid washed a grown man in a bath tub... XD
@Angelic_Lapras_King True dat. We were, like, blatantly lied to and disrespectfully trolled, but aside from that this was one hell of a learning experience.
I mean, like, seriously. When else could I have gotten the chance to watch Japanese television in all its glory? It's like Mexican variety shows on drugs. I'll have to really sit on the things I saw tonight for a while and just let it all sink in...
Lol the drones. They're striking.
@JaxonH fair point, though. I just feel bad for those who waited 30 minutes to see 10 seconds of footage. I've just gotten used to the fact that the only worthwhile reveals by nintendo are directs, and not even all directs are that good. I agree that it's better to just catch the highlights of things like this, though. I'm glad I didn't waste 30 minutes.
@Angelic_Lapras_King
On a more serious note yes it was entertaining despite how off topic the whole program was torwards what we were looking for..
But aside from that.. from a more serious perspective the whole hype of it was disappointing when the results came.. majorly disappointing..
@2Sang
Exactly. I don't have time to watch paint dry. I'll catch the headlines and skim over the news for the day every evening, but when it comes to actual anticipation and hype, it's E3 only for me. Now, I do get excited when we get a Direct, but even then I don't wait in suspense for them to air (can't anyways cause I'm always at work) because you never know what you're gonna get. I usually will come home, fire up the Wii U and watch the Direct on the eShop, or I'll catch it on Nintendo Life.
Boy am I glad that I hate pokemon.
@2Sang
What ''Drones'' exactly? :3
@2Sang
at least the wait was very entertaining
@FilmerNgameR
This is the most accurate Picture ever made on this Article!
This is how Pokemon Get TV always works. Same with its predecessors, Pokemon Sunday and Pokemon Smash. It was nothing to get super hyped about, especially when the announcement was only a few days ago.
@Memeboy3 lol I just thought of it after reading most of the comments here.
Watched the full hour and wasn't too surprised about this. This sort of thing has happened in the past. Still exciting though. I enjoyed the show.
@2Sang How? It's a video.... It may not be revealing , but it's a video of game, and you should be happy about it.
@Vrael
Oh, I see. I'm pretty sure that's just the way that show works, but I suppose you wouldn't necessarily know that, so I think I can understand expecting more if you watched the whole stream. Fair enough.
I don't know about you guys, but the footage shown can give plenty of hype[Or atleast in my opinion]. It could have been worse if they didn't bother to show anything at all.
Lol, my god everyone calm down E3 isn't THAT far away and it's when Official Nintendo will show us some of the game, not some scrubby show nintendo didn't even run... xD So much pokehype~
It's everyone here's fault, they usually do big announcements with Junichi when I didn't see him I knew that we were getting a teaser and not a 30 minute direct regardless I thought it was entertaining :3
You know, I didn't watch the stream, but I got to see this... I feel great! Didn't sit through boring-ness and cut right into what I wanted to see, and man can I NOT WAIT to see Kyogre in 3D again!!!
lol
Such amazing footage that is really different on what we saw on XY
(seriously, why not show any overworld footage? I just want to find out if they keep the correct scale of the areas
@2Sang Honestly? I was personally at work at the time and only heard vaguely about there being something shown off on a Japanese show of some kind at some point soon. I didn't expect anything much and really anyone who DID expect something huge when Nintendo's E3 Event happens in...29 days now I think. They could have held the announcement of the game a bit closer to the belt and show off the thirty second teaser announcement we got Thursday closer to June 10th, but really it could be worse. I don't need to defend Nintendo as it was all the fans who hyped it up. The game was announced three days ago. If there was going to be something significant shown about the games it would have been during that teaser.
E3 is a month away and I have a feeling it is going to be a whopper for Nintendo. Call it a gut feeling. We will have to see what happens and Nintendo will keep as as hyped as they can until E3 without revealing anything that would truly be mind-blowing and overall be better to be shown off at E3.
I think the livestream was worth it just for Oil and Natural Gas types, Mega Pinkman, and the Fletchling that will save us all.
Started laughing at "Sound effect not final" XD It is more than visible that this game is in its alpha-phase.
Come on, Really? Thats It? Im Sad.
Well I was thinking about getting X/Y but after seeing this I'll get Alpha sapphire considering Sapphire is my favorite/first pokemon game ever.
I got back from the theatre last night. It was about 11:15pm and I saw that the live stream was about to start. I thought to myself "Hmm, should I watch it? I'm not really interested in Pokémon, but perhaps this time is the time in which I am" But I was way too tired so I skipped it and BOY DID I MAKE A GOOD CHOICE!!!
Thinking about it... We knew the games were coming, but officially there was still the need to tease the wide audience that buy pokemon games. Not everyone check the internet everyday for Nintendo's related news afterall >o>;
Maybe it was silly to get hyped about what was meant to be only a teasing reveal in a single country aired by a tv company external to Nintendo ^_^; (althought I admit I got tricked too by the hype >.<).
I even wonder if the news of the footage-reveal was pointed by Nintendo or the tv company... in the latter case I bet they didn't expect to get such a worldwide audience and dissapoint millions(?) of hopes XD
@Silent lol somebody's bitter
It was nearly 3am in here when this aired. I stayed up for it after Eurovision. WORST DECISION OF MY LIFE
=w= am i the only one who thinks that someone incharge of the station this show is on decided these remakes posed a good time for a ratings trap? hopefully we get a proper showing at e3
If they don't wanna show anything substantial, why didn't they just wait until E3 to show this game off in a full trailer?
Well, that trailer wasn't very impressive at all...
I said it in another thread, but the reveal of the new pokémon-games feels a bit rushed, kind of makes me think the original reveal was set for around E3, but was pushed forward to give Nintendo some good news to bring out to counterbalance the poor earnings report...
I'm excited.
People just tuned in to a Pokemon TV program obviously aimed at japanese kids, then were disappointed when the base footage they waited for was a 30 second teaser clip.
All those disappointed people.....are idiots. They watched a program not geared towards them at all, for an announcement that wasnt meant to be some huge a-month-before-E3 Nintendo Direct. Again, idiots.
It was... interesting to watch, to say the least.
Where's are Blue and Red cases?
@noctowl Isn't that a bit immature to say? Just because they decided to give a small tease instead of giving you a boatload of content?
You're going to need more evidence rather than hunches for me, or anyone for that matter, to believe you.
@absuplendous Did YOU sit through the whole thing, if not don't talk. They said there would be OR/AS footage and I was expecting more considering all we sat through.
See, this is why people shouldn't complain about yearly releases... then people would remember that this is EXACTLY what happened with previous games, the show has always had teaser footage & it's always been a small amount of it. I think the only time they EVER game out any info was HG/SS when they showed a Pikachu walking behind the player for 3 seconds.
@Vrael No, I did not watch--and consequently I didn't waste my time. My point was that the decision to watch the program live was the waste of time, not the footage itself.
Ten minutes of extremely revealing footage could have been promised, and I still wouldn't have carved out time to watch the program live; as I said, the relevant footage would essentially be on-demand through various web sites almost immediately after it was initially aired. There's no value and no point in dedicating time to sit through an entire children's program full of irrelevant content for something I can easily get any time I want.
For me, it's not unlike a Nintendo Direct. If a Nintendo Direct is going to be broadcast live at 5AM, I'm not getting up at 5AM to watch it, because it'll be on Youtube nearly immediately afterward (such as when I naturally wake up, or after work when I actually have time to spare on a video game news video). I can watch it at my convenience. There's no advantage to seeing it live, unless "I learned new things about a video game a few minutes earlier than I otherwise could have" is considered advantageous.
If you've never seen these Pokémon Sunday shows before, I can understand your having higher expectations. Now that you know what they entail, I suggest not bothering in the future, because you can expect the same thing.
@MysticX the games were announced exactly 5 years to the day from when HG and SS were announced, that's not coincidence.
Where are people getting the idea that the game is rushed? They were working on Gen VI before Gen V was released. You don't know when they started development on the game, please take several seats.
I blinked did I miss it
Can't wait to see some proper gameplay footage.
@noctowl You came to a conclusion to some strange reason, and react to footage negatively. It's what peeves me off in the industry. There will always be people who immaturely come to the conclusion. So that is why I am "so serious".
After all, this preview is the only thing supporting your hunch. That seems immature. Because
1: The Pokemon Company is an extremely large company, that can clearly multitask on more than one project and make sure it's not rushed (considering it was confirmed that they worked on Pokemon Black/White, Black/White 2 and X/Y all at the same time).
2: This is a remake. Yes, they do need a great number of resources. But the engine has already been made, the pokemon have already been created and all they really have to do is copy/paste the code of gen 3 to the new game for the most part.
3: There is no confirmation that this was rushed in any way by the developers.
This is what you people get for expecting anything big on a japanese tv show with E3 just around the corner...
Use your brains, for god's sake.
@absuplendous I understand that it was my decision. However, I still feel conned and I'm not happy about it.
@xerneas You were on a roll, I see...
But seriously, it should have taken everyone just one look at the guy hairdo to understand they weren't gonna show anything major.
@Arcamenel I'm not saying the games are rushed, i'm saying the reveal feels rushed, i'm sure development has been ongoing since X/Y released at least (basic systems and pokémon models can be reused outright), but suddenly coming out with box-shots and a release date right after hugely disappointing quarter-figures came out... A bit too well-timed to be an actual coincidence, IMO...
As for the trailer, showing the two pokémon everybody knows will be in-game (Being on the covers and all) has a bit of a "Why even bother?"-vibe, but it keeps the buzz going i suppose.
shakes head
Where DID you people ever get the idea that Get TV, in an episode that wasn't even advertised to have anything to do with these games even, would show more than a tiny bit of footage? You'd think it'd be smart to actually investigate what kind of show this actually is before starting your misguided hype.
@Vrael I don't know how did you arrive to that conclusion. I watched the black screen saying that there was anime airing, then the pokemon trozei contest, then the guy in pink seeking stuff around the house. Then publicity. Everything for kyogre and groudon saying "wraah". I watched it all, too.
@Sato It was an underwhelming trailer, but at least E3 is less than a month away. It will probably be playable there.
