It's design looks similar to the design of Odyssey, I assume its developed by the same team and could be another reason for then skipping Characters like the Kremlings and the enemies from the Retro-Studios games
The 3DS had 2 rereleases of Zeldas, OoT & Majoras Mask (not counting ALBTW - hear the title), the Wii U also 2 rereleases Windwaker & Twilight Princess (also, not that long ago rereleased) and the Switch already have 2 Zelda rereleases - Awakening & Skyward Sword which I think is the reason for it. Next time Nintendo decides to rereleases Zeldas I expect them if cheaper efforts the DS titles, if they are about to put in bigger efforts it will be Zelda II or further Gameboy titles, the Color ones and Minish Cap (but they are Capcom collabs, so maybe not, or maybe Capcom is willing to take the task)
@eliothewerewolf
funny you say that because I never had a problem with my left joy-con but my right one is drifting alot and never stopped since I started to have the problem.
Now in general. Maybe the drifting problem is actually a software problem, I mean like a bug in the OS of the switch. Since it is that common?
I don´t think the review is trying to give you a good clue about what´s skyrim is all about for a newcomer, ohh well, for sure it doesn´t give you any excitement of what´s to come. The review is trying too much with a intelectual language that nobody will understand than unless you maybe have played the game already. I haven´t played Skyrim. The review gives me the feeling it must be a very boring game for intelectual speaking people. I´m better off with Xenoblade, it´s for me the safer bet since I loved the 1st one on Wii
All known retailers here in germany, even gamestop didn´t have a single piece of doom for the switch on launchdaymin my city. One of the retailers got the info that the ordered doom games should arrive between monday and wednesday. The delay is due to the holidays in big parts of central europe on the 31st of Oct and 1st of Nov and that the retailers have been ordering too late to secure doom for launchdate. So doom couldn´t sell better physical copies for that reason in it´s launchweek.
@Iggy-Koopa I´m pretty sure you´re not forced to download the 2nd game if you have the 1st on physical and I´m pretty sure you are forced to pay more if u want to download the 2nd game to ur physical version
SNES mini is the biggest must-have of the Minis, NES mini also very cool. Those 2 are the biggest childhood memories from gaming. N64 was also a part of it, but as long as Goldeneye, Perfect Dark and Banjo Kazooie, maybe Diddy Kong Racing too (all Rareware's) won't be on it, I'm not interested. That is since in my opinion Rare even made better games on the N64 than Nintendo themselves.
"announce" means calling out something for the first time. I´m pessimistic it may just be a release date of the already revealed upcoming games for Switch, the Rayman and Steep game we saw in the january trailer who didn´t get any info at E3
@sligeach_eire How can you have an opinion when you haven´t even played ARMS? To me it can be quite competitive, the ranked mode it´s about competitive, you notice it immedately if it´s a ranked match or a party one. If the game sells well and Nintendo will keep up witth new content for the game with tweeks and balancing updates there sure will be a community, might aswell enough for eSports. If Nintendo games can gain eSports interest from other games ARMS can make it too. I wouldn´t consider Nintendo games that much of an eSport´s, they are and meant to be children and faimly games. eSports is established on PC with games like Counter-Strike, Quake, Unreal Tournament, StarCraft and so on
I miss the days where Rare made shooters. Imagine Nintendo pulling of a single player like in Perfect Dark or Goldeneye, that would be something. Shouldn´t be that hard right? The Splatoon makers even has Perfect Dark as their inspiration
@EQUINOX Personally I prefer ARMS over Splatoon. And without splitscreen multiplayer in Splatoon I could see Splatoon struggeling with the same success comparing to its predecessor. The Switch gets marketed as easy to pick up and play multiplayer machine with using only one console. Atleast ARMS do offer splitscreen multiplayer, using single-joy-cons as controlleroption is allthough questionable.
I´m still enjoying ARMS alot no matter alone or together with somebody. So much dept with the different kinds of arms. Looking forward for new upcoming arms to mix up the fighting strategies. Hopefully a statically shown rankings will follow up aswell
With no splitscreen multiplayer this entry will bomb. Children won't play online alone and I for sure as a parent won't buy a online multiplayer game with only online multiplayer and not splitscreen. You play these games to share the fun with your children. But on the positive side, can save money for other games instead. Mario Kart and ARMS are great alternatives.
I agree with @NEStalgia, that's the way they should go with F-Zero and Star Fox from now on, atleast try if it works and gain more interest and sales. Nintendo has to tell stories about it's characters and IP's that are less known. The oldstyle kinds of games can still get made alongside if the IP's gain maibstream interest.
2 amiibos at that price is actually a full retail 3ds game or a switch game with a good deal. The amiibos are really off-turning atm with the new price-standard, and most ammibos only offer something for like 1 game, l99k at cloud or bayonetta or any other 3rd party amiibo. Only 1st party amiibos offer more than for 1 game, and then mainly the super mario ones
Why do amiibos cost about 5 euros more than before? Bcuz they are less popular now and has to make enough money from those who still collect once in a while? The metroid once are actually tempting me again.
In germany they charge €99,99 everwhere for pre-ordering. It would be if Nintendo will change or confirm an official price that it then could be reduced, but I doubt it. I would prefer to pay $79 like in the US, seems to be the cheapest yet. Considering that for the NES mini I only had to pay €69,99 for my two NES mini's. It's €30 more, I guess Nintendo realized they can charge more since it is a hot item and then leaves less profit for the scalpers. I would although prefer the old price
Ofcourse EA and Bethesda wants to highlight their upcoming games on the Switch as awesome handheld versions since Skyrim is an old game, console versions of that game is nothing new and u want to market something what is new and could be demanded to reach maximum sales. EA does the same in hope that the customers owning both a Switch and another PS4 or Xbox may then buy 2 versions of the game so they don´t compete with themselves with their different versions of consoles. The Switch for the fact can offer handheld gaming which the other versions of FIFA doesn´t, only natural to outline that as the selling point of a marketing perspective, that the Switch version can be played on a TV aswell is ofc something interesting aswell for us as Switch customers, we want to see how it´s played on the big TV, unfortunately that comes in 2nd place in these cases
What i mean is.. the Switch needs to be the dominating console this generation, for themselves to survice to the competition, to keep me as a loyal customer and to many others who thinks the same. I´m pretty sure if the Switch doesn´t win, Nintendo will bring out one more console which then will sell maximum the WiiU numbers and then Nintendo will leave the console market and start something else really Niche only Nintendo stuff
I´ve been owning only Nintendo consoles since the very first beginning with the NES. I had all except the Gamecube and the WiiU. The Nintendo concepts of their consoles have always appealed more to me and my children than the competitors. The competitors are only aiming for powerful graphics and offer fewer games for children. The 1st Party offerings from the competitors isn´t much and is probably very weak in comparison to Nintendos. Playstation has good 3rd Party support which Nintendo lacks since long, it had tempted me to try out the Playstation for a console-generation instead of Nintendo and there is no way I would invest in 2 consoles at a time due to more costs and more time dedication and to organize that with a family and all. I skipped the WiiU bcuz of the lack of 3rd Party but more so bcuz of the lack of quality 1st Party from Nintendo. Now I`ve taken the risk with the Switch, the new Zelda was too tempting and I`m hoping Nintendo has learned and will bring out more quality 1st Party games than for the WiiU combined with better 3rd Party support. Else it might be my last Nintendo console, may aswell be the last video-console at all. To see Nintendo lose the long-run competition again against playstation and xbox then I guess there won´t make any more sense to stay loyal to Nintendo once again since they will never get that full support back like in the SNES days which we so much miss as Nintendo fans
See it like this instead.. ARMS DLC ain´t free since you will have to pay for Nintendo´s internet usage to be able to download the "free" content at all
Even a Nintendo franchise like Metroid, actually beloved by the Nintendo's loyal fanbase, gets threatened by the critical fanbase who ain't buying anything else than Nintendos own games on it's Nintendo console. Look at it now, the latest Nintendo games we're getting are the extreme kiddy looking Splatoon and Arms. They might not be bad games, but no wonder Nintendo isn't paying attention to Metroid or F-Zero
Since we don't seem to get any "maturer" games for the Switch, or just not yet. Maybe it would be wise to support these kinds of games in hope to get more 3rd Party support and mature games. As an only-Nintendo-owning-console-owner, I would like to play not just kiddie games. The Kiddie games are fun together with my children, but for me personal, only Zelda and Xenoblade isn't enough to justify my Switch-Purchase
forgot to mention NBA Jam, was awesome with the firing dunking/slamming and which was new at the time that you could actually destroy the basket when doing
looks like fun. Maybe the Switch could turn out to be a perfect machine for sports game with it´s easy pick up and play. I haven´t enjoyed sports games on video consoles since NHL94 on SNES, before ofc blades of steel and I have never enjoyed the FIFA`s. I did actual quited enjoyed International Superstar Soccer from Konami around 1998.
If Nintendo is allowing Sonic in a mariogame they are starting to go nuts, it's an extremely bad idea that I think Nintendo fans will quit staying loyal to their favourite consolemaker. Being innovative is one thing and is good when developers pushes their franschises into new challenging gaming ideas but an idea like this will destroy the mariogames completely.
This seems to be a must buy. Will probably become a powergaming game, i will PG it together with my girlfriend, cant wait =) Any swedish ppl who wanna team up to create a guild or something from the release day?
This is a fun action game. I had it on my SNES. For those who haven't played it yet, it's worth to invest some Wii points in it. Nice SNES graphics action =)
No! People won't become skilled power-gamers as long as there are stupid helping guides showing everything. It's an experience just to find out things on your own and what also makes the fun of a game. If we are gonna get harder games, people have to get more skilled first so there is a market for the games
@RyuZebian: I don't think there will be any price-drop of this one for really long. Games like twilight princess, mario galaxy etc. are still almost att full price
It's probably gonna be a good game, but I wont waste my money for another Galaxy game when I already got the first one. Why not just play through the 1st Galaxy one more time in a couple of years when u cant remember anything? And instead spending the money for a new nice title. It's a cheap way from nintendo to try to earn more money on an already developed gaming idea, they could have instead developed something totally new in the mario series instead of just making a sequel with pretty much just new stages to go through.
