Best type of t-shirts are the ones where only those in the know will get it. These fit the bill pretty well. Also, the first two shirts (ie. the one without the squid) appear to say "ika" in Japanese which is of course "squid." I'm thinking the other one is squidish nonsense though... but I could be wrong!
Granted I haven't played many of the newer Sonic titles but the first two Sonic Adventures were a big part of my younger years. If they could just buckle down and make a great game in the form of SA3, it'd maybe go a long way toward revitalizing the franchise.
And I don't think Sonic '06 classifies as SA3, because, well, no Chao garden, among other things.
@JaxonX, your last post eloquently articulated my position.
I highly doubt they'd be selling all three paths for $80 if it had no more content than a $40 game. Everyone would catch on to it pretty easily and it'd spell disaster. If nothing else, all three paths will very likely add up to much more content than your everyday $40 retail 3DS game.
This news is going to garner a lot of hate from people interpreting all three paths as constituting a single game's-worth of content.
I'm not even saying that it isn't necessarily, but we just don't know what the differences are yet. What if all three paths pack twice as much content as Awakening? Then paying $80 for all three paths wouldn't be such a big deal. It'd be like getting two Fire Emblem games at once, not unlike Zelda: Oracle of Ages and Seasons.
We just don't know yet. And given the good track record of Intelligent Systems and Nintendo, there's probably not much need to worry.
Not as much positivity in these comments as I'd expected, or maybe hoped. Sales could have been going down. That'd have been terrible, but they're not only not going down, but up! I mean, no, it's still not where we'd like them to be, but it's still very pleasant news.
As some have said concerning the Wii U vs. Dreamcast thing, from a financial standpoint, sales numbers don't mean as much in terms of being "successful" as does profitability... if the Wii U's price was dropped significantly, it'd surely sell a lot more than it does now, but that wouldn't necessarily make it any more profitable. If the DC had a price drop, it's hardly fair at all to compare sales numbers. This, again, from a financial standpoint.
Second point: It's not as though the Dreamcast doomed Sega. It was the final attempt at success after a line of unsuccessful ones, as I see it. Nintendo, meanwhile, is hot off the heels of two phenomenons: Wii and DS. 3DS, too, isn't doing too badly either. Nintendo can afford mediocre sales much more than Sega could.
Also, I feel like using the particular word "failure" to describe the Wii U is a tad harsh. Granted, the definition of failure is "lack of success," (and I'm not trying to argue that the Wii U is successful), but I still kind of feel like "failure" makes the situation sound worse than it is. But that's just my opinion.
And finally: add my name to the list of "people who want a new Wave Race." =P
@DBPirate Right, that's what I'm saying. I haven't seen very much of anyone suggest Ryu though, although it could be a popular Japanese choice perhaps. Still, I'm hoping these are (if real) between the June release of Lucas and the probable 2016 release of the ballot character(s). Like, October–December maybe.
I'm excited for the 200cc and the tracks most of all, but I chose 200cc. (Surprised to see the tracks so far in the lead. 200cc, I mean come on.)
And the P-Wing kart I'm very much anticipating. It looks incredible. I chose Super Bell Subway although really I'm equally excited for all them, mostly Baby Park, Ribbon Road, Cheese Land, Neo Bowser City, Wild Woods... yeah basically all of them.
I am about to faint here. This is amazing. Trying to take in all these new courses at once, so many of them look so good, and then the P-Wing kart looks utterly fantastic. I'll probably use it over and over.
Baby Park in HD looks so good. Neo Bowser City, I'm so pumped to pay that one in HD. I CAN'T BELIEVE Cheese Land actually made it in, I suggested that one! And not ONE of the MKSC tracks but TWO, Ribbon Road! And look what they did with it! Very creative.
And then the new courses. Another F-Zero stage? Didn't see that coming, and it's one big track--I expect it'll be epic. Super Bell Subway looks like it could be the next Coconut Mall, which is my favorite course.
I feel like it won't release for Wii U, whatever it turns out to be... I can't really find any sales figures but it probably did a lot better on other systems. (Don't quote me on that.) Plus, Ubisoft seems generally unimpressed with the Wii U install base since it opted out of Rayman Legends' exclusivity...
I still haven't played the first one, but I've heard nothing but good things about it. It'd be nice to have the series continue on Nintendo platforms.
It looks almost too much like Zelda, particularly Minish Cap.
There's something to be said about making a game as good as it can possibly be, but when you get all that support for the game on Kickstarter, you don't want to change and add so much that you can't even follow through with it.
But, I don't know. I'm just throwing that out there.
I didn't see the "rumor" part at first... then I clicked the article to see that it's not even a rumor anymore, but fake. Ah well... I'm surprised we don't know any other courses yet, actually.
Besides Rainbow Road SNES, retro tracks haven't been duplicated at all since their inception (if I'm not mistaken). This puts Baby Park at a disadvantage. But I guess they're going to have to start reusing them fairly soon (since there's no more N64 tracks to reuse) and that would mean MKDS Retro tracks would be the most likely candidates to bring back. Thus, Baby Park. And it'd be a wild course for 200cc!
I'd be fine with Neo Bowser City / Koopa City; it's a simple course with a cool style, although it's a tad plain. I think Rock Rock Mountain / Alpine Pass would be a cooler choice, though.
EDIT: Actually, I guess N64 Wario Stadium still haven't been reused yet.
As I've previously said, I'm cautiously optimistic that it'll be a big hit with the mainstream audience. Either way, I'm sure it'll be a really fun game. I'm excited to finally play it.
It'd have been nice if voice chat was added at least for friends, but it's not like you couldn't use Skype or the phone or something if you really wanted to. As for matches "with anyone," the lack of voice chat really isn't that big of a deal for me, but I could see how some people would have at least liked have the option.
I'm optimistic that it'll be a really buzzy game. Ahh, that'd be great!
But it'll more likely not be. Which isn't to say it won't be a great game, but it'll have to really strike a chord with people in order to be a phenomenon. We can certainly hope.
Basically I guess it's somewhere between an Oracle of Ages/Seasons where they're two totally different games, or a Pokémon where the differences are small enough to where you only need one of them.
I don't know enough about the differences yet to come to any conclusions... but regardless, this is the Japanese release. Since in the American Direct it sounded like it'd be all in one game, that might be how it will be in the U.S.
Anyway, I wonder if it'll be called "Fire Emblem: If" in the U.S. That's an interesting title...
I loooved MKDS back when it came out. First game I ever played online.
So it's cool people get to play it on Wii U but... no online, and no multiplayer period. That's pretty rough. That takes a really huge portion of the game out
Pokèmon Z (hopefully!!), Splatoon (most likely), Mario Maker release date & details, Xenoblade Chronicles X release date maybe, Yoshi's Wooly World, and... Zelda U news? Ok, probably not...
And hopefully something else totally unexpected! I'M HOPING!
It's really not that big of a deal, I think. They're still gonna make games for their own hardware like they already do. I'm hoping DeNA was a good choice to partner with. But anyway, I trust Nintendo to make the right decisions. I'm happy they're taking risks and trying to go forward.

@ShanaUnite ah, I see it now... probably most people who see the shirt in public won't catch that but now that I see it it's hard to unsee it.

Re: Video: Nintendo Inks In 'Claim Your Turf' Marketing Campaign With New Commercial
"Claim your turf" is a good slogan to communicate the fact that the goal is not to shoot other people, but to, well, claim turf. So, good start.

Makes sense. No objections here.
Re: Nintendo UK Has Picked Its New PR Agency, Splatoon Activity Incoming
Well, I guess this is a good thing, right? Whatever they can do to help Splatoon sell well, that's great.
But, nice move putting that green-filled header image to represent "PrettyGreen." =P

Re: Hands On: Hitting the Tracks in Mario Kart 8 DLC Pack 2 and 200cc Mode
@danielsahr528 I'm quite fond of the course. I'm not sure why it draws so much ire. It looks cool, and it's straightforward. Solid track.
@AtlanteanMan You'd absolutely not be. If they announced Pack 3 at E3, I'll be thrilled.
Re: Vote Now and Decide Which Classic Mega Man Title Will Kick Off Mega May in North America

@efaulk84 Yes! I'd love to play Mega Man 64 again.

Honestly Ryu's not an outlandish choice for Smash Bros.
And although I'd like to see Roy return, I really don't see it happening, so...

Re: Poll: Which Characters Do You Want to Win the Smash Bros. Fighter Ballot?
There's some cool possibilities in this poll. Isaac, Inkling, Shovel Knight...
I really don't know who to vote for... in the ballot, I mean. I haven't voted yet. (Voted? Suggested? Whatever word you wanna use, I dunno)
But to be honest with you, the two fighters I'd seriously love to have come back are two Melee characters... Young Link and Roy.
