Re: Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate Hits Switch This August

@TMG44 Where are you getting that 350,000 figure from in Japan. AS of February, 2018 from Media Create charts:
https://gematsu.com/2018/02/media-create-sales-1-29-18-2-4-18

Monster Hunter XX was at 211,111 units sold. So, are you telling me that Monster Hunter moved another 150,000 units? With in that time frame? Come on now. I didn't mention the 3DS version because that is literally a different case. But, I'm not well informed. Come at me again, bro.

Re: Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate Hits Switch This August

Malakai

@ghasfarost The game only moved a bit over 200,000 units on the Switch, in Japan. Granted, one, MH XX shouldn't have even existed, given Capcom had promised no ultimate version of Monster Hunter X, but Capcom backtracked on that promised.

I bet dollars to donuts that Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate isn't going even have 1/100ths of the marketing budget that Monster Hunter World received. Furthermore, if World is going to be the series template going forward, then why release Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate now? No marketing nor updated gameplay feedback loop, what are the reasons for releasing this game? It doesn't make any sense.

The only thing that works in Monster Hunter Generation Ultimate favor in the West is the utter lack of 3D action games on the Switch from third parties.

Re: Dragon Quest XI On Switch Will Arrive "Much Later" Than Other Versions

Malakai

@Fight_Teza_Fight DQ XI is using UE4, a engine that is already on the Switch. A engine were we have indies getting a working a prototype of ports from the PS4 of their game in terms of weeks if not days.

Here, we have Abstraction Games, a much smaller studio:

...created a Switch port of the hit PC game in a matter of weeks - much to the delight of Ark creators Studio Wildcard.

From the CEO of Abstraction Games:

"Most companies usually have a Plan A and a Plan B, and it's Plan B that they're banking on. But we delivered Plan A, and they didn't expect it. They wanted a first playable at this point, but we actually have created something you could almost send for certification. That's how we try to operate. They didn't expect that...

And we have Sumo Digital here

"We got the code across onto Switch - or at least certain parts of it - in a matter of hours, so we started becoming more confident that we could achieve what we wanted and within the timescales we were looking at. Within seven days, we had it fully playable."

So, no it shouldn't take that long for a Switch Port nor is it on the Hardware like you claim. So, please get your fact right.

Thanks.

Re: Soapbox: Monster Hunter World Has Claimed Its Prize, But Capcom Shouldn't Forget Nintendo

Malakai

@JaxonH You said it was speculation. It wasn't speculation. Two, in order for Capcom to request more RAM the architecture(ARM) would have had been decided already decided at the time at the time the NX was shown to 3rd parties. Considering how close Capcom was to Nintendo, you think that Nintendo would show off the prototype(s) of the NX during 2016? come on now? Furthermore, we have the Nvidia CEO, in late 2016 saying that they were working with Nintendo for the last two years! The NX development started late 2014. So, you think that Nintendo wouldn't have let Capcom know what Iwata and co were planning on until 2016? Does that make any sense? Especially, when the Switch is using an off the shelf processor?

Re: Disgaea 5 Complete Passes 100,000 Sales on Nintendo Switch

Malakai

To address the Japanese sales, typically when it came to the Sony portable ports of Disgaea, Nippon Ichi had much better bonus materials than just the DLC in order to get double dippers. They took the lazy approach when it came to the Switch and just bundle the existing DLC and didn't add anything new to it. Also, it docked mode it doesn't even change the resolution (it is running with portable clocks while in docked mode). The sales of the over 100,000 when PS4 version only did 172,000 (confirmed and not that VGChartz pie in the sky number of 350,000) is more than what Nippon Ichi deserve honestly.

Re: Talking Point: Capcom, the Nintendo Switch and Gaming Business Realities

Malakai

@electrolite77 Doesn't mean that Monster Hunter World is going to set the world on fire on those three platforms. Those platforms have there bomba and flops. Look at Mass Effect Andromeda. With the developer talking about "demand" for the title on the Switch, that game ended up flopping hard than a fish fresh out of the ocean.

Re: Talking Point: Capcom, the Nintendo Switch and Gaming Business Realities

Malakai

This whole article is a mess. The game, Monster Hunter World, is on the MT Framework; which games work on at a playable framerate on Intel Integrated graphics like HD 4000 (the Switch crushes this GPU in handheld mode alone) like Resident Evil 7. You can't hide behind a freaking "power argument". Furthermore, you can't say that it is a "numbers" thing on Capcom's POV when it cost a hell of a lot more to develop for Xbox One and PS4 development for Monster Hunter World.

Re: FIFA 18 Gets Reveal Trailer That Suggests Missing Features for Nintendo Switch

Malakai

@gatorboi352

|Gatorboi352 wrote Switch cannot handle the Frostbite |engine. It's as simple as that, there's no conspiracy or |"hating" going on here with EA.

You post is full with crap. Frostbite engine can run on Haswell intergrated graphics. Pretty sure the Switch GPU is much stronger than that. Heck, FIFA 17 can run on the Geoforce 820m, which the Switch GPU clocks can beat performance wise while in handheld mode.

Take your trolling some well else please.
