Re: Soapbox: Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom Straight Up Fails In Just One Respect: Accessibility

@Bret Sure, your opinion matters, but the market still dictates. The truth is, having accessibility can interrupt the game experience when a game structure or loop has been decided. At some point, when too many options are offered, it wouldn't become the game it was originally envisioned. And I simply don't want that, which the market agrees.

Let Skyward Sword or BOTW come out organically; at least Nintendo did this on their own without others interfering. They are game makers with standards, you know. They've playtested the game and this is what they come out with.

No, I don't want Nintendo to jump into the accessibility bandwagon vs. Xbox/Sony. Their recent games have been brain-dead annoying when everything is spelled out; even seconds after puzzles are shown, they've already talked about the solution - pleasing a small minority of players vs. inconveniencing the largest of them.

If you want everything being shoved down to you on your plate every single time then go for it with other games, especially those cinematic adventure ones. Not Nintendo.

@Astral-Grain You can't seem to answer others' questions, only analyzing others. Lack of love maybe? Misunderstood others' point and now proceed to shoe in your whataboutism takes? Such miserable way of living.

I don't have any problem calling the Switch akin to potato pc, even then that's not even my point. I'n referring to poor and cheap mentality instead of focusing on having a good time. Really, your poor reading comprehension needs some upgrade.

@Astral-Grain Are my statement wrong? Are you implying that you can dump Switch games legally on normal Switch? Or anything else? Back it up just explain the point, teacher, instead of the fluff.

SteamDeck is an investment for some. Like most PC players playing on a potato pc, they ought to consider pirating every now and then since they don't have the means. $400 incredibly cheap given the hardware, which Valve already subsidized.

Re: Random: Valve's Latest Steam Deck Trailer Briefly Shows A Switch Emulator

Playing Switch games legally on SteamDeck is incredibly idiotic. The emulation is a hit or miss, BOTW is ***** unless on CEMU - don't ever believe these SteamDeck dudes who said they actually bought the game on Switch lmao. People know.

Basically, you need a hacked Switch to even legally dump those games in the first place. So what's stopping them from playing these games on the hacked Switch itself, with overclocking and modding available vs tweaking needlessly on SteamDeck?

In the end, it's just bonafide pirates who are too poor to buy the games, trying to convince people they didn't drop their pants for everyone to see.

@Gwynbleidd I don't think Nintendo don't care. Who did high budget 2D games with $60 price nowadays except Nintendo? If anything they're the forefront, and Dread is just not ready.

The game must be launched at the right time and releasing on Switch with high enough install base seems the best option. Samus Returns did gracefully on 3DS considering its end, but bad on overall growth.

Re: Talking Point: Why Nintendo Is Right To Be Cautious With Mobile

MagnesG

I still think they can nurture a stigma of respected and anticipated developer for mobile market. Continue doing conservative SM Run-esque titles, even with modest profit the market will respond favorably to them at the end. Just try not to make it a big deal as SMR or its gacha focused counterparts.

Maybe they can produce a new premium mobile IP? I think they can go long ways with that.

Re: Hands On: Putting the Nintendo Switch Hardware Through Its Paces

Well everyone can express their opinions whatsoever and get whiny and yeah, Nintendo's at faults here. Partly. But its still good start of a journey. If you guys thought it was a bit pricey, well don't buy now just wait for price drop or sales. Not enough games? Don't buy it now just wait wait and wait and oh if that time had come where you're satisfied with the libraries, you can buy it. You hate everything Nintendo? Whine a bit and just don't buy it. Easy

Its ok to be a wiener once in a while, but here's hoping everything's fine. Think of the people who just wanna have good fun playing games, it sure kills the mood guys.
