Re: Feature: Exploring the Licensed Content in RCMADIAX Games on the Wii U and New 3DS eShop

@Anon9284 I'm going to make a presumption, and that's because I don't understand why you keep walking on egg shells with every post, and because I know people like him and know from the way he writes that he's one of those people.

@RCMADIAX knows what he's doing and doesn't care one bit. He wouldn't spend a dime more than necessary if he can get away without, and will ride this train for as long as he can, as well as try to weasel himself out of everything that comes his way. He is a narcissist and a sociopath.

"Perhaps look around for a classic Tetris experience available on the Nintendo eShop if you would rather play it safe."

Or get the Tetris Axis on 3DS that is only available as a cartridge (sadly, as it's a great game to have as a download, I think Nintendo's rights to Tetris ran out), or the venerable Tetris DS.

On Wii there's the excellent Tetris Party.

Description of Collar X Malice:

"The protagonist is a policewoman who works in Shinjuku, which had become a dangerous city after a series of brutal incidents popularly referred to as the "X-Day Incident".

She had been busy working in her assigned area everyday in order to keep it safe. But one night, an unknown assailant attacked her and placed a collar built in with poison around her neck.

Amidst the chaos and right before the protagonist’s eyes were men with suspicious backgrounds. They’re all part of an organisation composed of former police officers and have taken it upon themselves to investigate the brutal cases.

Without knowing whether she should trust these men or not, she suddenly became the person who held the key to this massive case.

In order to remove the collar that places her at the edge of death and to liberate Shinjuku from the malice that binds it, she cooperates; beginning to investigate the incidents with the men.

Who holds her life in their hands?
Will Shinjuku ever return to its former glory?"

More of an otome game and apparently coming to the west in 2017. Official site: http://www.otomate.jp/collar_malice/

Actually, the adventure game never really died (and they certainly never faltered in Japan). While traditional point n' click adventure games did fall in popularity post-The Longest Journey, and have been in a resurgence for quite some time; as someone who kept playing them, I can say I had zero problem getting new and well-made adventure games throughout the years. What we see more of, is the return to the more traditional form of an adventure game, where studios aren't trying to reinvent the genre with every game. Even Telltale are sort of following their own tradition. Honestly though, some of my favorite adventure games have been those that were avant-garde; The Last Express, Grim Fandango, and yes, The Neverhood. But experiments are quicker to fail than to not, and boy were there lots of failed, often expensive experiments in the genre over the years.

Aye, look at me blather on...

@chequeredcow Ah, I see. I didn't understand you didn't think there were issues yourself. NVM, experience will get you to better gauge the right feel for the controls. In the meantime, be proud for having made a decent game. From what I see the reviewer is telling you to take a more artistic instead of rudimentary approach to the overall style. That is always good advice IMO, though I think you did well.
Thanks for participating in the discussion here, always nice to see developers. Though I sometimes ride them hard, which I get the feeling some people don't like.
