Re: Toon Link Adventuring Onto Smash Bros. Wii U and 3DS

LeVideoGamer

@NintendoMonkey Again, take down your shields. Not once did I say "Sakurai doesn't know what he's doing". He's been working on the games for over 14 years, and all three have been excellent, so who am I to say such a thing?

I said "two versions of Link". I didn't say the word 'clone', because I know very well that the games are not being released until next year, they're not finished, and anything can change in that time, including Toon Link's moveset. That isn't my problem.

Get your emotions in check before you respond again. I'm not criticising the decision to include Toon Link, because it does make sense to include him. I'm saying I don't agree with it.

Re: Toon Link Adventuring Onto Smash Bros. Wii U and 3DS

LeVideoGamer

@NintendoMonkey No, you're right. I shouldn't share my thoughts because they're negative.

"Just deal with it"? What makes you think I haven't dealt with it? So I don't like the inclusion of one character out of God knows how many, it's not like I'm boycotting the game. Quit being so defensive.

Re: Toon Link Adventuring Onto Smash Bros. Wii U and 3DS

LeVideoGamer

Lame. Only a certain amount of characters can make it due to 3DS restrictions, yet we've got two versions of Link. Anyway, you guys are excited, so that's all I'll say.

What I'd like to know is which characters actually won't return. I'm sure Sakurai said there would be cuts, but with Toon Link returning, I have no clue who will go. Ike? Snake? Lucario? Maybe even R.O.B.?

Re: Peach Finally Confirmed For Super Smash Bros. Wii U and 3DS

LeVideoGamer

@DarkKirby I reckon they'll change her appearance again. She might look similar to the TP version from Brawl, but she'll probably be blonde again.
Personally, much like Zero Suit Samus, I don't care if Sheik stays or goes. Decent enough characters but I'm not too bothered either way.

@luisesteban No, and he probably won't be, because, you know, he's one of Peach's moves.

Re: Rumour: "Pyroar" Pokémon Leaked Online

LeVideoGamer

I hope Pyroar can be the 6th generation's equivalent of Arcanine. I wasn't originally interested in Litleo since I was going to choose Fennekin as a starter, but after seeing its rumoured evolution, I'm not really interested anymore. There's still hope that it could be a Fire/Psychic type, but I'm just sick of bipedal Fire starters in general, so I might choose Froakie.

Re: Nintendo Tested Two Other Zelda Titles in HD on the Wii U

LeVideoGamer

If they end up making a HD remake of Skyward Sword, why wouldn't they have just postponed it and made it a Wii U launch title?

Forget remakes. Let Wind Waker be the first and last for its 10th anniversary. Focus on brand new games. At the most, make HD reboots of forgotten franchises like StarTropics, Ice Climber and Nazo no Murasamejo. HD isn't a huge draw for me, and I don't need to have all my favourite games remade in HD.

Re: Video: Want To Know Which Version Of Street Fighter II Runs The Fastest?

LeVideoGamer

Doesn't matter. I was always going to buy Super Street Fighter 2: The New Challengers because it had more characters, notably Fei Long and Dee Jay.

Not too bothered about Ultra Street Fighter IV because I was planning on making that my first game for PS3 next year, but as unlikely as it is, I'd sure like to have Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike Online Edition on the Wii U. None of my friends play Street Fighter on the 360, and I'm not sure how active the PS3 community will be in 2014.

@MadAdam81 Personally, I've always found Mortal Kombat pretty boring, and while I enjoy Dead or Alive, I don't like it anywhere near as much as Street Fighter.

Re: Peach Finally Confirmed For Super Smash Bros. Wii U and 3DS

LeVideoGamer

Didn't really like Peach as a character in Brawl, but these new screenshots are pretty promising. Always nice to see some new moves. Above all, I hope they change her Final Smash, because Peach Blossom was lame. I'd like to see the Rage Vibe from Super Princess Peach, powering up her moves and throwing in an explosion or two.

I really hope that Sakurai doesn't add anymore Mario characters. Focus on unused franchises, please.

Re: The World's Most Scathing Video Game Critic May Be Warming To Wii U

LeVideoGamer

Yahtzee is one of those guys that I listen to and laugh, but pay almost no attention to his opinions. I agree with him very rarely.

However, he may have a point about the PS4 and the Xbox One. I'm getting a PS4 solely because of Sony's exclusive games. Couldn't give a damn about the other features. If I cared for Microsoft's exclusives, maybe I'd get an Xbox One as well. The Wii U is definitely going to be my main console for this generation.

Re: Poké Transporter Confirmed for X & Y

LeVideoGamer

I have to pay to transfer my Pokémon? No chance.

I'll either trade with people that have, or I'll do without. The only Pokémon I care about are Umbreon and Blaziken, and they'll both be available without paying.

Re: Talking Point: The Wii U May Be Playing Catch-Up With Some Developers, But Money Always Talks

LeVideoGamer

@I-AM-REGGIE The Wii was my favourite console of the seventh generation. There was so much diversity in the games, and there were a lot amazing titles. It's just a shame that not every Wii owner knew where to look.

Sin and Punishment: Successor of the Skies, A Boy and his Blob, Muramasa, Zack & Wiki, Xenoblade Chronicles, The Last Story and Pandora's Tower were some of my top games of the generation - Xenoblade Chronicles is my favourite game of all time - and they were only available on the Wii. Not a lot of PS3 exclusives came close to the Wii's experience, and there were a lot less Xbox 360 exclusives for me.

Re: Talking Point: The Wii U May Be Playing Catch-Up With Some Developers, But Money Always Talks

LeVideoGamer

Personally, I find all of Bethesda's titles - both published and developed - extremely boring. Some of EA's titles are appealing to me; Mirror's Edge is great, FIFA has been my football game of choice since Konami lost me after PES 6, and SSX has filled a hole as Nintendo haven't made a 1080 game since 2003. I can live without everything else. Mass Effect, Dragon Age, Battlefield, Crysis, NBA Live and The Sims are not my cup of tea at all, Burnout and Skate don't look to be returning anytime soon, and NFS died to me after Carbon. Even still, less third party support is never a good thing.

When/if Wii U sales pick up, I refuse to believe that EA and Bethesda will continue to ignore the console. Once the install base is big enough, if a game could potentially run on the console, they'll probably make it.

Re: Nintendo Has A "Continuing Relationship" With Minecraft Studio Mojang

LeVideoGamer

It would be nice to see Minecraft on the Wii U. I find it odd that Minecraft is/will be available on all seventh and eighth generation home consoles, but Nintendo's are still unconfirmed. Was never expecting a Wii version, but a Wii U version makes too much sense.

Still, even if it did come to the Wii U, it needs something similar to the Pixelmon mod or I wouldn't buy it. Unlikely, but a guy can dream.

Re: Feature: The Biggest Wii U Games of 2013 - Autumn / Fall Edition

LeVideoGamer

I never played Super Mario 3D Land, so I'm really looking forward to 3D World. I still haven't completed Sonic Colours or Donkey Kong Country Returns, so while I will buy Sonic Lost World and Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze in 2013, they will have to wait. Wind Waker HD looks great, and I'll support the two indie games as well. I'll buy Watch Dogs for the PS4 in 2014, but I'm done with Assassin's Creed after completing both the first game and the third game in the series and came away from both of them feeling pretty disappointed. I have no intention of supporting either Wii Fit U or Wii Party U.

Also need to get Rayman Legends, Mario & Sonic at the 2014 Sochi Olympic Winter Games, The Wonderful 101, Deus Ex: Human Revolution Director's Cut, New Super Luigi U, Nintendo Land, Mighty Switch Force! 2, Pier Solar HD, Two Brothers and 90's Arcade Racer this year. After taking so long to release in the UK, I'm unsure if I want to support Scribblenauts Unlimited, and I simply can't justify spending £40 on Lego City Undercover.

Re: Wii U Name Isn't To Blame For Poor Sales, Says Reggie

LeVideoGamer

The name is part of the problem, but it isn't the biggest issue.

The marketing campaign is horrible; not enough emphasis on the fact that it's a new console, too much on the new controller. Not enough heavy-hitting exclusive games for the system yet. No real explanation on why the Gamepad is a necessary and relevant innovation. Certain regions are still missing applications on the console.

The price cut next month fixes the price issue for some people, being $100 cheaper than the closest 8th generation console. The games are coming. Just get the advertising right and there will be a ton more sales come this Holiday season.

Re: Satoru Iwata Cites Poor Basic Wii U Sales To Rule Out Price Cut Benefits

LeVideoGamer

No, Iwata. Just no.

It's not like the Deluxe model is flying off the shelves. People aren't buying the Deluxe model more than the Basic because the difference in price is negligible. The Basic model isn't selling as much as the Deluxe because it only has 8GB of storage, it comes with no game, and it doesn't come with any of the extras of the Deluxe model, like the console stands and the Gamepad cradles. Who wants that? Not too many people.

Yes, the main problem is games, and yes, when we get more top quality exclusives, more people will buy a Wii U. But a price cut will still help once the games arrive. There's only a £50/$50 difference between a Deluxe Wii U and a PS4. That's not huge, and the Wii U doesn't come with a whole lot more for the price.

Since it's not selling well, I think the 8GB model needs to be cut. Offer Deluxe 32GB models in both Black and White with Nintendo Land for £274.99/$324.99. If they throw a new game into the mix, like Super Mario 3D World, Wind Waker HD, or Sonic Lost World, then it should cost £299.99-309.99/$349.99-359.99.

Re: Metroid Fan Film Seeks Crowdfunding For Completion

LeVideoGamer

I don't see how they can ask people to fund a movie when it's not their own IP. If they haven't approached Nintendo and got their approval for this, which they obviously haven't as that makes too much sense, I doubt it'll happen. Even though they're nowhere near it now, if they get the $90000 they want, that cease and desist will be in their hands immediately, whether it's for profit or not.

Re: Iwata: Getting The Attention Of Gamers Is Harder Than Ever

LeVideoGamer

If they improved their advertising campaigns, maybe more of the general public would take notice. The commercials I've seen on TV have all been terrible.

When they start advertising games like Sonic Lost World, Wind Waker HD, Super Mario 3D World, etc. hopefully they focus on what the games have to offer, not just "look at what this shiny new controller does!"
