Probably not.

Pokemon X/Y = will be the highest selling handheld game of all time. The worldwide sales for this game will be incredibly huge. Pokemon X/Y has "must buy" written all over it.

Nothin for Wii U? I know people are gonna hate me for saying this but, im not getting another Nintendo home console agajn unless it has the regular pokemon games not spin offs. Would have been more happier than a 3ds…. >.>

With the wii u they had TWO screens [tv and gamepad] better graphics than 3ds,etc. and they haven’t thought of a Wii U pokemon game like X and Y? Makes perfect sense -.- w/e im sticking to nintendo handhelds next time.

Even though all I've got is a Wii U (for now anyways, may get a 2DS or 3DS just for Pokemon X and Y) I look forward to tomorrow's presentation!

On that note, it would be nice if Iwata announced the Rumble U figures expanding to retail outlets outside of GameStop. Haven't been able to get a single figure yet.

@Jese_1 Lol I was thinking that too.... If Nintendo really wanted to take advantage of Pokemon X/Y... they should do something like: "Pokemon X/Y released today on October 12th! ALSO... Enjoy some classic Pokemon games on Virtual Console. Oh and if you bought Pokemon X/Y then you will get a discount of a Pokemon VC game!" That's what I'm hoping Nintendo does. I also hope Pokemon VC games don't cost over 7 bucks.

Will they finally actually tell people what the differences between X and Y are?

@icerazor A console pokemon game in the main series goes against the core of what pokemon is: A portable, monster collecting/trading/battling game. Its name is short for Pocket Monsters for crying out loud. WiiU doesnt fit in your pocket, and isnt an on-the-go system, meaning it is unsuitable for the Pokemon concept of trading/battling on the go. Pokemon will never be on a home console, and graphics have nothing to do with their decision, so throw that argument out. Pokemon is designed at its core for handhelds, and it wouldnt be itself on a console.

I don't know if you thought I was being sarcastic, but I'm not. There isn't enough information on what the differences between the games are other than the legendaries and 2 Pokemon for each game. It is because of this lack of information I have not made a reserve yet.

Why do I get the feeling that another Pokemon will be announced for Smash Bros. during the Direct? Hoping it's Mewtwo at least...

Maybe that's why they said image subject to change? I don't condone the taking of someone's work but I suppose it was meant to be a simple placeholder until the official images are out, especially considering neither Yveltal nor Xerneas are pictured on the handhelds.

I believe that Nintendo is planning for two Directs for this month, one is for pokemon, the other for general stuff about 3ds and Wii U.

No ND for $50 Wii U price cut, 2DeeS, SM3DW and DKCTF releases dates. Zelda game bundle w/ Ganandorf stature. Zelda Wii U Gamepad bundle w/ Gamepad art, but X+Y needs another ND?

If this isnt for X+Y but for something else instead - like that mystery fight photo at the end of the last trailer, then I'm OK w/ it. Did Pokemon Rumble U and it's little $4 toys get a ND? Maybe a Pkemon X+Y Wara wara plaza like Animal Crossing? (Why don't Wii U games have their own Wara wars plazas but a 2/3DS game does?)

I'm with you on hoping its also about more than just X/Y and Rumble .

These Directs always have a surprise at the end! And the x/y bundle isn't a surprise!

I think that they will:

• reveal more about X/Y (duh)
• reveal more about the starters and legendaries (good chance)
• reveal more Pokemon (I don't see why this wouldn't be true)
• reveal the types for the starters (perhaps. But please, no Fire/Fighting, and please have Water/Electric. PLEASE! Also, Grass/Dark or Grass/Steel is good)
• reveal more about Team Flare and/or the story and/or more characters/gyms (good chance, but I might be overdoing it)
• reveal if or not they have backward compatibility (I don't see why it can't, especially if you have things like Dream Radar)
• reveal a new character or 2 for Smash Bros (over-wishing, but possible. Please be Mewtwo! I don't care if I need to use his new form, I just want my precious Mewtwo back!)
• reveal that Pokemon game/new Wii U title (okay, now I'm really over-wishing)

I might be overdoing it, but a man can dream.
But let's just hope for the best (and I'm assuming it's about 10 minutes, like the last one)!

ND's would be incredibly boring if they were just for release dates.

They do them when a game is coming out soon because they show gameplay, release details, etc. Sm3dW and DKC are too far away to start releasing many details. They'll almost certainly have their own info-releasing nd's around launch time.

Why would they have a ND for Windwaker? It's not a new game, so showing teaserfootage is pointless. It'd be a 3 minute long direct tops saying there's going to be a bundle and showing a design on the controller.

Now that I think about it, it was pretty smart of GF/Nintendo to host the direct so early. They know people are back in school, so they're hoping to catch the kids, teens and college crowd while they're up and getting ready (or in the case of those in Japan, when the target audience has finished dinner and homework)

I'm hoping we'll be able to see some more new evolutions for past monsters. The Megas don't really...count. xD (I mean, is the evolution permanent? Or only last for the battle?)
Anyways aside from those the only evolution for past monsters we know of is the Eevee one.

Pokemon Z, when X Y and Z versions are saved on the memory card, a portal in game will open up, and then the strongest Xyz Pokemon will be summoned, Number 39: MegaUtopiachu

@icerazor GameFreak doesn't want to develop Pokemon games on a home console so we'll only see main entries on Nintendo's portable systems.

@Cloud-San-VII The fire one is pretty much confirmed to be Fire/Psychic. From what I've been reading, it learns Confusion, Psybeam, and Psychic (based on trailers it has appeared in). Very few Pokemon learn all 3 without being at least part Psychic or Bug type. Now it doesn't look like it'll evolve into a bug (which seems very unlikely) so it'll most likely be part Psychic.

For those in Australia and New Zealand, it'll air at 11PM (NZ); 9PM (AEST); 8:30PM (SA and NT); and 7PM (WA). I'll actually be awake to watch one of these Nintendo Directs for once! I'm so excited!

What I think they could possibly announce:
-What that mysterious Pokemon Fight Clip was
-How you'll be able to transfer your Pokemon or dlc for each region (Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, Unova)
-New Pokemon

Why are people complaining they are for 3DS and not Wii U? Pokemon games are made for handhelds and the graphics are fancy enough. We are getting 2 amazing games and people still complain. Figures..

As this has not been announced as being completely aimed at X and Y (as it's just called a pokemon direct) I wonder if we'll get any info on that little bit of footage we saw a couple weeks ago that looked like it could of been from a pokemon fighting game. Of course there will probably be info on mostly X and Y, but still.

I don't have school but I am a night owl that tends to stay up until 5 or 6am anyway so I guess I'll be catching this. X-D

@LetsGoRetro - I personally thought the last regular ND was incredibly boring. No new info at all, just a lot of game trailers they could have put on the Nintendo YouTube Channel. The W101 ND a few days after that actually convinced me to buy a Wii U. Well the ND coupled w/ the demo after it. I'm a sucker for game demos.

And you're right, any single thing from that long list of commas I had would make an incredibly short ND, but if you put it all together - as it was all announced on the same day - then I'm sure they could have got a good 1/2 hr. out of it. Just the 2Dees alone was worth a good 3 minutes.

Guess we have different opinions on what the ND should contain.

It's not that they haven't thought of it, it's that Pokémon is a handheld exclusive. Always has been. They'll never bring a mainline Pokémon game to a home console. Spinoffs only.

There's so much more to gaming than Pokémon. I love my Wii U- so many amazing games! Just released in the last month ALONE there's been Pikmin 3, Splinter Cell Blacklist, New Super Luigi U, and Rayman Legends. With Wonderful 101 AND Zelda Windwaker HD both 2 weeks away, and a whole SLEW of amazing games in October. Pokémon's great, but don't let that stop you from enjoying the Wii U!

There was no Wii U Pokémon game teased. That's a rumor taken too far, and has since been debunked. The clip was just some CG cut scene The Pokémon Co thought would look cool. There is no game. They came out and stated that when everyone started flipping out over it thinking it meant a Wii U game was coming. Pokémon Rumble U just released with NFC figures, that's it for Wii U... for now anyways.

@Big_Boy_Chubs But that ruins the sense of immersion and mystery. I don't want to them to reveal everything, that's why I had a hard time getting into Black and White. Teams can be planned out once the games are out anyway.

@BlatantlyHeroic well, we're all different. I prefer to know when and where i'm going to catch my pokemon. I guess the mystery can add a new experience to the game, but i don't work like that. I NEED to know what's going to happen.

WHY would they delay X&Y just because you feel you should have been really spoiled by know? It makes ZERO sense as a reason to delay a Pokémon game when no one has ever suffered that. They have already finished the testing process so it's pretty much done! If you want a source check out the latest ND...

Also, can't I point out MY opinion about what you just said without you "freaking out"? Just discussing different points of view, that's all you have to deal...
