News on a Wii U Pokémon game?

I really hope it has something to do with a Pokemon game on the Wii U. I personally don't care about Pokemon X and Y nor do I care about the 3DS itself.

I hope it isn't Ruby and Sapphire remakes... basically because I can't take so much goodness all in one period of time!!! ;__; In the future though BRING IT ON!

@KingH3nrry That's rather unfortunate for you, as the 3DS has some really amazing games worth owning. Its by far got a better library than WiiU, and is only getting better with upcoming releases of Pokemon X&Y and Zelda: Link Between Worlds and Smash Bros 3DS. Stuff like Mario 3D World, Mario Kart 7, Kid Icarus, Fire Emblem: Awakening, Luigi's Mansion 2, and Animal Crossing: New Leaf trump anything on WiiU right now, except maybe Pikmin 3. I'd heavily recommend a 3DS to any gamer who likes fun games.

As for the surprise? I'm really hoping its an early digital release for X&Y like a few days early. If it is, its a definite download for me.

I'm guessing one of three possible outcomes.

#1 The teased Wii U Pokemon game will be officially announced.

#2 The old GB (not GBA) instalments will be available in the eshop.

#3 The highly requested remakes of Ruby/Sapphire.

@KingH3nrry Gotta agree with @bizcuthammer here, you're missing out! I love my Wii U but, the 3DS has a great library right now that's only getting better. I can't afford everything on both consoles but if I had to choose one to keep, it would definitely be the 3DS right now.

I don't think it will be new info on X/Y, they have already said a lot of surprises. I'm guessing it will be on that 3D Wii U game. And guys, seriously? Can't you be patient for The Hoenn remakes? There's no way they would announce those now.

@bizcuthammer @Fingeldor I think I can live without playing those games. They just don't get me excited, like Sonic Lost World or Watch Dogs do. And as for Pokemon X and Y, I don't think I'll ever care for it. The newer Pokemon (post gen 4) are terrible in my opinion. It just bothers me to even look at them, let alone battle with them. At this point the only thing that could sway me into buying the 3DS is if the Pokemon games on the Gameboy come out on the 3DS exclusively, or if the Pokemon games on the GBA come out on the 3DS exclusively. A remake of the past games wouldn't do it, as it would probably contain the newer Pokemon as well.

New information about the wiiu game, maaaybe they show us some new evolutions or last stages of the starters... Who knows? CAN'T WAIT 4 IT!!!!!

Why would Gamefreak decide to announce another 6th gen main game when X & Y is close to release? Certainly not happening, but I guess the announcement will be more information that will happen with the storyline and new Pokemon.

Which, I think that game is either going to be a Pokemon fighting game (Like Smash Bros, Tekken etc.) Or a console RPG Pokemon game (like the handheld ones.)

Whatever the announcement is, I'm interested. I'm expecting that it will pertain to X and Y, but we'll have to wait for Monday.

@Interneto I have given them a chance, I played Pokemon White and beat it a couple of times. And what have I learned from my experience with that game? That I absolutely despise the newer Pokemon. It's not the games I hate, it's the Pokemon. I'm sure the games will be great, but with the newer Pokemon being present in them, I will never want to touch the new games.

I hope it's a Wii U pokemon game, the 3DS is already great, why try and add more to the already Awesomeness? I feel like the 3DS has too much Love but the Wii U doen't even get one Crumb of a Commercial, i hope Nintendo can fixbit and save the Wii U the Pokemon way, i HATE the demands for ruby and sapphire, Gen 3 more overrated than JB, (i bet chuggaaconroy had something to do with it), but the Main point is that the Wii U gets the Reward it deaserves with a Pokemon MMORG or a Colosseum/XD style game

I don't think they'll announce any remakes right now, that would take attention away from X and Y which I'm sure they don't want to do. A Wii U game announcement is possible but if it's not coming out end of this year/beginning of next I don't see a reason to announce it. I think it'll be about the Pokemon Origins special.

A bigger surprise than Kanto starters AND their Mega Evolutions? I'm kinda scared for what it could be...

@KingH3nrry I feel bad for you, truly. You probably think the new Pokemon are unoriginal and Gen 1 was outright the best right? You wouldn't play remakes of the new games because they would have different Pokemon in the post game? SERIOUSLY?

@KingH3nrry And everyone else that thinks it's a Pokemon Wii U announcement. The possibility of a Stadium/Coliseum type game is possible though an actual main series game is not even remotely going to happen.

GameFreak's already made their stance on console Pokemon quite clear and it's doubtful (and that's putting it nicely) that they'll change that.

It's most likely a supplement to the X/Y games on Wii U in the style of the Stadium/Coliseum games especially since there's nothing alluding to it being directly X/Y related in the announcement. I guess an early (digital) release date for X/Y is possible as well.

But that said, I do hope it's related to the Wii U, I feel like they are announcing a bit too much about X&Y and I would prefer it if I found out about the secrets of the game myself

My thoughts is that this is nothing big. Probably a trailer for the new Pokemon XY series with Ash or maybe a new Pokemon announcement for XY game. Not really sure what else it could be but I feel like other than a Pokemon, they're probably not going to show off anything new for the XY games, due to recent announcements. Maybe info on TCG? Who knows. lol

I'm pretty much positive that it won't be Ruby/Sapphire remakes, because any Pokemon you can catch in Ruby and Sapphire can be transferred all the way to X and Y through a process.
The only reason Fire Red/Leaf Green and Heart Gold/Soul Silver were made is so that every Pokemon from 1st and 2nd Gen could be obtained in the then current Gen games, so Ruby/Sapphire remakes are absolutely redundant with the current connectivity of the generations. But I could be wrong, so I'll just wait until tomorrow to see what it is.

I think its the Pokémon X and Y new demo in Eshop, and they will release a new Wii U pokémon game, and they are going to talk about the new website gotta catch all :/

@Lukaz2009 It's not redundant. Most people no longer have a DS, therefore, they can't transfer their Pokemon from Ruby and Sapphire.

I am skeptical that it will be anything significant, but of course I hope it is a Namco/Nintendo co-developed Pokemon Tournament, a fighting game for Wii U made with the Tekken engine.

I hope it has to do with fairy type. I think ghost should be super effective against fairy and ghost should resist fairy moves. currently, all of fairy's weaknesses are weak to ground, which is already popular in the metagame due to earthquake. it would make ghost types more useful, fairy less overpowered, and preserve the ghost/dark types having no weakness. but that's just me. either this or gen 3 remakes of course.
@Backwardsonapig my homecoming is the Saturday after the release of x and y. so my choice is whether to skip homecoming to play more pokemon x or not.

Probably some Pokémon game for the VC, which would be cool.

@Skeet102 Ghost types already got a boost. They are immune to battle trapping moves and abilities as well as no longer being resisted by Steel. Steel and Poison might both be weak to Ground but before now Poison type Pokemon let alone moves were rare and steel hasn't really had much of an offensive advantage.

The types that really need a boost are Bug and Ice types. Bug having another resistance was just dumb on Game Freak's part. The only thing Ice types had going for them was their super effectiveness against Dragons but most Water types can learn Ice Beam and tend to be pretty bulky as well with more coverage than Ice.

I hope it's anything but the sixth and seventh options I listed.

I'm gonna be the first to say this - Maybe they're bringing back the Battle Frontier in X and Y? On the Kalos map, the train tracks in the east appear to go off the map. Maybe this is a new part of the map to be revealed tomorrow? What's your guys' thoughts?

• The Pokémon Bank is a 3DS app.
• Red and Blue as downloadable classics would be available on the 3DS.
• Red and Blue would be compatible with the Pokémon Bank in order to send the critters to Kalos.
• The same would happen with Gold and Silver.
• Now, what Nintendo handheld is currently an Ambassador exclusive? That's right, the GBA.
• Therefore, once the GBA VC is eventually (and inevitably) released, the same is going to happen with Ruby and Sapphire.

@AlexSora89 oh yeah...duh! I totally forgot about the World Tournament. They will probably have that instead if Game Freak decides to do a battling competition thing.

@AlexSora89 I totally agree with you except for the Gold and Silver games. We have HeartGold and Soulsilver on the DS and can transfer them to Black 2. However, we do need Red and Blue on the VC as well as the Hoenn games to transfer those pokemon, since it is a little bit of a hassle to migrate them and finally transfer.

@AlexSora89 GBA games are going to be on the Wii U, not the 3DS sadly. (That's a little backwards if you ask me anyway.)

How about, putting up the Pokemon mini on Club Nintendo as a limited time prize, with a port of Pokemon Red, Blue, Green, or Yellow as a pack-in?

It's going to be the Gotta Catch 'em All website that leaked by accident a week ago. Which seems to be related to the anime, not the games. The teaser image is the same one from the trailer.

So unless there's more than that, it's just the unveiling of whatever that website is for. You shouldn't be expecting new games or new Pokemon.

If there are, that's icing on the cake, but yeah.

I see nowhere that says that they're planned for Wii U alone. I only see that it says Wii U is all that has been announced. They could easily be working on GBA titles for 3DS and we do not even know it.

XY1012 is the starting code. Haven't found any other codes yet. those hints are vague!

I really hope so. I know the WiiU needs more system sellers, but denying the 3DS a GBA library because of that is just a backstab.
