@Kang81 i buy a lot of third party games on switch but i only buy the ones that are ported competently. just two weeks ago i ordered witcher 3 and dragon quest XI. two fantastic ports that a lot of effort went into.
@LordVal you don't have a different demo. you just can't tell the difference between 24 and 30fps which is mindblowing because there is an obvious difference even for console players.
@Sean161 yeah sure, RE6 running under 30fps a good chunk of the gameplay is a "fantastic port". Not everyone has standards so low they accept last generation releases poorly optimized on newer hardware.
i already made up my mind. if my switch lite ever drift this will be the end of my support for nintendo. i can't believe they haven't addressed the issue despite it being quite common.
Nintendo Enthusiast has shown a lot of audio glitches, bugs, bad framerate and poor visual quality on his review. None of the other reviews mention it. i'm still going to wait before i decide if i actually get the port or not, after all it's priced the same as the remaster of the other platform but it isn't a remaster.
The pill is hard to swallow when a game from the ps3 is a direct port but cost cad 69.99
@Dayshader websites? none. youtubers? yes. i found the best youtubers when it comes to switch reviews are the ones that also review playstation and pc/xbox ports. as they probably played all versions including the switch one..
happy console gamer is pretty good, he owns multiple platforms, and i find that spawnwave too is good since when a switch port is bad, he's honest.
and after that people around me wonder why i hate nintendolife recently. you can tell they were either being paid, for it to get a 9/10 despite being a broken gambling mess or flat out being ignorant and blind to the point where they see no issues because it's a switch port.
i prefer to read from non biased sources that won't hesitate to call out filth regardless of what platform it is.
Hard pass. A code in a box? How can people even encourage such Anti consumer practices? The people that buy this fake physical release are creating a problem and telling third party publishers you're ok with empty boxes sold with a piece of paper.
the cpu of the switch couldn't handle the game. ESO is very CPU bound because of all the netcode. Trying to run this on switch would result in a clunky, low resolution game.
@Aya-chan it is underpowered. the switch is a minor upgrade from the wii u era which wasn't a huge upgrade from the xbox 360 or ps3. If the switch wasn't underpowered, no games would need to be downgraded to a point were resolution is way lower than 720p docked.
this is fishy as hell. the game was 21gb on the ps3 and now it' 5,7gb on switch? looks like they severely reduced the audio bitrate and visual quality. no way that game is 720p looking at the file size. and if it is, well the audio quality had one hell of a downgrade. i'll cancel my pre order and wait for that one.
Virtuos suck lol. Most of their ports have severe audio compression issues and massive framerate issues. Let's remember assassin's Creed III was utter garbage on switch and that the audio was almost broken. So yeah, i lost hope the minute they said virtuos.
i had a feeling falcom would distance themselves from the switch after ys viii. they deffinitely don't like releasing their games on nintendo platforms.
@graysoncharles a lot of AAA third party games never even sell enough on nintendo platforms because, well.... The amount of people i saw complaining about the price and how the game should be half the price because it's late..... That's what hurts third party support. And of course those games don't sell so they don't drop in price so people don't buy them....
Doom and skyrim sold ok but nowhere near as much as other platforms and wolfenstein 2 failed to reach a million sales, last i heard.
an effortless cashgrab from capcom yet again. please capcom, if you're going to be so disrespectful of switch owners, don't support it at all. we don't need you.
Pokemon sword and shield.... i was supposed to buy one of them, until i saw how lazy they were executed. The graphics look like two generations behind at times (if not more, those n64 trees are making a comeback in 2019 it seems). there is literally no reason why the game looks so damn bad when you have astral chain that looks a thousand times better and is made by a studio that has a smaller budget.
The missing pokemon and re-used animations lmao, just proves GF is japanese bethesda. I really want to believe it's gonna flop but it won't and it is exactly why they are not making an effort at all: because it will sell regardless.
since the switch version is not a remaster and is going to sell for the same price as the remaster, i'm gonna buy it on pc. At least i'll get an actual remaster, not a direct port.
@Majora101 stop lying. the audio quality is massively garbage how is it good if it starts crackling every damn time you pause the game or enter a new cutscene lmao your standards are trash. the fact that even reviews are mentionning the audio issue and bad framerate, and that you still reject it proves how much of a fanboy you are.
let's just wait for direct feed gameplay before telling everyone it's going to be amazing ok? they might not have the best track record when it come to switch and that's why you should always temper your expectations. you never know when a port can end up terrible. Assassin's creed III comes to mind. a lot of people though it was going to be fine because of how old the game is and it turned out to be a mess.
Witcher 3 is super well optimized, i know it, my mid range gaming rig runs it at medium-high 60fps. But there is always a possibility the port ends up messy because of saber interactive. it's literally the most ambitious switch port to date.
So the switch is not even getting the remaster? And it's not even getting enhanced resolution or features? no thanks, i don't encourage lazy publishers. i swear if it's full price people will defend it because it's portable.
it's gonna be a cloud edition. no way the switch can handle the witcher 3. cdprojektred had trouble making the game run at 30fps on the xbox one and playstation 4. and they are more powerful.
i got an official sandisk branded 256gb card for cad75$ (about 45 pounds) on newegg, ship and sold by them. it is a real card i already have well over 100gb and nothing has failed so far.
point is, just buy sandisk branded cards they are cheaper and they are the same.
@Dm9982 i have the patch and the framerate is still below 30 very frequently in boston and in some parts outside. The audio issues are still there as well. It's the last time i buy a port handled by virtuos.
@JaxonH care to point that video that proves it hovers around 29 fps? because that's not what i saw at all on contra network or candyland. it hovers way more towards the25-26fps mark than anything else, especially in boston.
@MsJubilee people that say it runs fine are the same people that went mad when saints row was confirmed to be an awful port. there are people that don't see past their own crap.
i game on multiple platforms, i CAN see if the game is smooth or not and assassin's creed 3 is anything but smooth on switch. it's barely playable.
once again this messy port should be enough reason to stay away from anything that virtuos is touching. virtuos might have released the final fantasy games with minimal issues but they were ps2 games. you'd have to be really bad to mess that up. anything last gen related, has been mediocre so far. LA NOIRE, DARK SOULS and now THIS, are proof that virtuos are just a bunch of amateurs. both la noire and dark souls had weird issues with audio and both of them were clunky docked. it's the same with ac3.
and, i can confirm the framerate is terrible, especially in chapter 6, it's below 20fps i'm sure of it. this should serve as a lesson to never pre order games, no matter how old they are and no matter how you think it's going to be fine on switch. i was proved wrong by both saints row and this.
the people that say they don't notice 30 vs 60fps difference. wth. have you even played fast rmx then a 30fps game? it's literally day and night, you can already tell one is less fluid and responsive.
sometimes i wonder if some of them straight up tell lies.

what happened is that they droped the ball.

@Darkyoshi98 which is false. i played the demos on switch lite and i uninstalled because the framerate wasn't good.

the switch version is more consistant abbeit the abysmal framerate issue in splitscreen, which can drop below 20fps past three players.
