@tgt I can answer this because I did the same thing. You can do the whole sage early, boss fight and all. The characters do have a moment where they are shocked that you already did it. Same with the Master Sword. This is if you do them before completing to Hyrule Castle. I found the 5th sage before Hyrule Castle but after the other 4 sages.
@Gerudo_Guy I think a large portion of what we saw (the water pipes area) was near or at the beginning of the game. That whole first Wonder Seed section with the pipes had no sections where you could even fall off the edge. The world map had a difficulty level indicator when hovering over a level, so the levels at least probably get more difficult. I wouldn't expect anything super hard though.
@SteamEngenius You actually can buy at least Apollo Justice and Spirit of Justice on mobile. I don't know if I'd say it was Capcom's fault that Nintendo got rid of the 3DS store.
Edit: All three on iOS, just those two on Android it looks like. Dual Destinies on iOS is not compatible with later versions though.
@Fizza @dartmonkey Gotcha, I guess I was just out of the loop on this.
@old-dad I apologize if I gave off the impression that I don't care if Kirkhope gets credited. I certainly think he deserves to. I just had nothing to say that hasn't already been said in the similar recent articles. It is surprising this situation keeps happening given how easy crediting someone must be.
Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance would benefit greatly from some remake additions, such as sped up animations (most important), voice acting, improved music and visuals, and other map improvements from Awakening. It's probably my favorite Fire Emblem, but this would make it even better imo.
@msvt In my opinion, the physics of 1080 are significantly better and more satisfying than Avalanche. I played 1080 for the first time a few years ago and Avalanche recently and didn't enjoy Avalanche at all. 1080 is one of my favorite N64 games though. If I remember correctly, Avalanche leaned into the tricks thing more, whereas 1080 leaned more into realism.
@Goofonzo It's not as though all of the fans are pretending to enjoy the game. I love it, as do many others, but I can acknowledge that it's not for everyone.
Since Dark Samus is kind of Metroid Prime, I feel it would be a bit odd to have a Metroid Prime game without her being relevant in some way. Not sure I'm a fan of reviving her yet again though. I still need to play Prime 3 so I don't know the full context, but Metroid Prime/Dark Samus has been destroyed at least 3 times now.
I honestly never did. I always thought Amiibo were kind of a lame business tactic back in the day. Not quite as bad now that there isn't much content locked behind them anymore.
@Rayquaza2510 I can imagine that the state of Pokémon could potentially be even worse if they had kept every Pokémon in the game. Or maybe they would have finally hired more employees.
But yeah, I agree that the move seems to have been done solely to cut development time and costs and not to improve other aspects of the game. That's where the real issue seems to lie: lack of motivation to improve or grow.
A shame, but I can and will just keep playing the old games instead. Maybe the next one will convince me to come back.
@WiiWouldLikeToPlay Fully agree. I think the Pokémon franchise has so many problems, and Dexit was never one of them. I would much prefer to have a Pokémon game with less Pokémon in it but more effort elsewhere.
@ArcticEcho Kirby Air Ride is probably one of my most played games. I constantly come back to it, especially City Trial. Even so, I really don't like the idea that people who don't like it lack an imagination or just "don't get it". Some people having a million hours in a game doesn't mean that game is objectively good to everyone or even to most people.
As much as I love it and have always wanted a sequel, I personally think it's a flawed game in many ways. I think if I were to try to remove my own nostalgia bias, I would maybe give it a 7-7.5. A good game but not best of all time or anything. Just my personal opinion of course.
@nessisonett I doubt they'll be flying on an empty plane. They'll probably be one of like 500 people on the flight. There are far bigger environmental concerns than a few people getting free plane tickets. Even in video games, I'm sure the Game Awards are paying for far more flights than this. And there will be plenty more other people that fly out to the Game Awards too. Unless you're joking, but it's a bit hard to tell.
Really don't care for the art direction in this one. Might be my first skipped Fire Emblem game. Also it rubs me the wrong way that they're bringing back all the lords when they haven't even officially released all their games outside of Japan. Not a fan of the crossover fanservice thing here.
@Caryslan Yeah I completely agree about Adventure 2. I actually thought Sonic and Shadow stages were more fun than Adventure 1 Sonic stages, but everything else was a major step down imo. I don't remember why, but Knuckles stages even felt like a big downgrade after I liked them in 1. Tails/Eggman stages in 2 were very unfun for me.
And I agree that 3D Sonic as a concept is just really hard to pull off. Hard to make a fun game where you move that fast and hard to design environments big enough to accomadate for how fast you move through them. I honestly think they could make a really interesting game out of just Knuckles gameplay, but I doubt they would do that.
@Pandy-the-Panda I have to admit, I forgot about the whole Sonic Boom thing and how mad Sonic fans were about that. I would argue when it comes to most other games, most Sonic fans seem to be the most forgiving towards them by far and generally praise a game like crazy until after the hype cycle dies (as most fanbases generally do). You mention that Sonic fans hated the direction the games have been going recently, but it wasn't just Sonic fans that hated it. I often see any actual criticism of these games dismissed as "haters". Even with all of the reviews coming out, I have been seeing fans say that the reviews (which are opinion) are not good enough and need to be rewritten by Sonic fans.
@Pandy-the-Panda "Failed attempt? Not at all, it’s just your opinion"
It's a review, so you can expect there to be opinion in it. Also, Sonic fans are definitely not the most critical people when it comes to Sonic games, and I don't know why I keep seeing Sonic fans say this everywhere recently.
@roy130390 I definitely agree that there is a lot of mob mentality hatred all over the internet, including for Sonic. I think on the flipside, there are a lot of Sonic fans who refuse to believe that not everyone is a Sonic fan or that anyone who doesn't like Sonic just hates Sonic for no reason. I fall into the "3D Sonic was never great" camp. I would argue that Adventure 1 and Generations are the only times it ever was good from what I've played, and I'd have a hard time calling either great. I've seen an attitude online that if you say you don't really like Adventure 2, for example, people will just refuse to accept that you're speaking your mind.
I also am not super pleased with what I've seen of Scarlet and Violet so far personally. I'm not regurgitating hatred I've seen from other people but just giving my opinion.
@Nintendo_Thumb So you're saying that because Nintendo chose that control scheme, it was automatically correct and perfect? Have you played Star Fox Zero and Kid Icarus: Uprising? I do like Uprising, but both of these games were critically panned for their controls.
And I'm not the one arguing that Splatoon needs gyro + analog, but I do generally like to use it when it's there. It just helped for precision aiming in BotW for me (micro adjustments with gyro). I don't think that makes me lazy?
Really the reason I commented at all was because I feel like you were shutting down a commenter who was being respectful and stating their preference. Sure, they can't prove that slight changes to the controls would improve it, but Nintendo making a decision isn't proof in the other direction imo.
@Nintendo_Thumb I feel that example is unfair. ARMS having Little Mac would be cool, but it's not something that would really come to mind as a flaw in the game, just a cool addition. If a game doesn't control in a way that feels natural and would potentially feel better if it controlled differently, that's a fair critique I would say.
In terms of accessibility and settings, Nintendo has always been lacking. I don't think they're immune to criticism just because they chose to make a game a certain way. Bad game design decisions can exist. Not saying this is one necessarily, as I haven't played the game. I do like how gyro + analog works in BoTW and the 3DS Zeldas, so I think it would be nice to have as an option.
@fox_mattcloud Aquatic Ambiance and Stickerbrush Symphony are on the list. I was also going to say I wish I nominated Forest Interlude. Not sure if it's my favorite (really hard to choose) but it's got to be one of the best Nintendo songs at least.
@NintendoFan64 Knuckles (basically done), Lyn (decent but would need polishing), and a very early Isaac are all playable in the leaked version of the dev build.
@WaveBoy Actually, that isn't Little Mac's stage. It's possible to switch between the two stages (not sure how yet though). This article just forgot to put in the second picture, showing the Little Mac version:
I want to get Super Mario RPG (been meaning to for a while), but I'm unsure about the controller options. I've got the Wii U GamePad, Wii U Pro Controller, and some Wii Remotes. Would it work on any of these, or would I have to buy a seperate controller?
@Pichubby Well, there was a "leak". It depends on if you think the pictures were real or not. I personally think that her face looks weird in the pictures, but the rest is pretty convincing to me. I'm going to go with fake though.
@Excep7ional I'm pretty sure it refers to the Call of Duty/ Sports games stereotype that only cares about graphics and says "dude" and "bro" and stuff.

I may have missed this but did Super Bomberman R 2 bring back Louies or are they still missing? I loved those guys in Super Bomberman 3.

@Chibi_Manny The box art has a Goomba with a Blue Toad looking hat on it. Seems to me as though Blue Toad is present based on that.
