@Fighting_Game_Loser For real I was kinda shocked reading that. I’m a huge fan of Bengus’s art and character illustrations, I’ve got like 4 art books of old Capcom fighting series art and a lot of it is him.
And in this way social media promotes two very negative social habits, accusatory behavior and bandwagoning. I’ll never understand why so many people feel the need to throw their hat into a situation that they have no real knowledge of nor why they bandwagon to one side or the other. Unlike reality no one suffers any real consequence for being wrong or throwing out baseless accusations on social media and so the habit is reinforced. A gross by-product of social media.
I can’t believe the amount of people defending review bombing here this is nuts dude. Y’all do know review bombing isn’t like some mass of fans voicing criticism it is a minority that is disproportionately influencing the the games rating by spamming negative reviews with alt accounts in the hopes that their tantrum will either be seen by Nintendo or that it will negatively impact the game by convincing people reading reviews to not purchase the game. The update didn’t break the game or make it unplayable nor did it introduce something egregious. It literally just changed the probability of getting a 3 lap race around a single track. I love video games but god man these people need to go outside for a little bit.
Pitchford has always been a self-righteous jerk. Just like he had no qualms funneling money that SEGA gave Gearbox to work on Aliens: Colonial Marines, he also has no qualms about making absurd prices for his mediocre looter shooter game. I personally don't believe Borderlands is worth anything more than it has historically sold for.
Maybe take Starfox or F-Zero out of the deep freezer. Also total pipe dream but it would be really cool to have a remade Fire Emblem Fates. I know it isn't everyone's favorite and I acknowledge its short comings. I think if they remade it with a more fleshed out plot and backstory, as well as not changing dialogue and character personalities + cut JP content it would be great. TBH I just really miss the little things about Nintendo systems like all the wiiware. Switch 1 was a very safe and uninventive product from a company that has always been big on console versatility. It would be nice if the Switch 2 was a return to form but I kind of doubt it.
I’m all for bringing back miiverse. It can in no way ever top the cesspool that is Twitter. Sure you may have gotten a stupid troll post on mii verse or a dumb comment from some edgy teenager but that was mostly the extent of it. If trolling and occasional troll bait comments are the worst miiverse has then I say bring it back.
I think you should have to use your switch 2 to post on it though, no mobile integration. If you allow mobile integration then scammers and bots will have run of the place and that would make it not worth using.
I already have a huge playlist of video game music saved on another app so no I won’t be using this. Also I imagine the selection offered will never match the whole of YouTube’s unofficial catalogue of Nintendo music.
I mean to be fair this is the first game in this series, an already niche series mind you, in over 10 years. I’m happy that we even got another game at all and I don’t really think it’s outrageous that this isn’t some balls to the wall super polished third installment. There is almost no incentive for them to spend the resources and time to make it really stand out as it’s a series that’s been dead for over a decade. The best outcome I can see for this is that this game is just testing the waters to see if EO can still catch on and be successful enough that it will pique some interest in a more polished and deeper entry akin to EO2:Blue World/Adventures of the Deep in the future. I’m not trying to defending a lack of depth or inconsistency between price and value to the player but let’s keep things in perspective here. This series went under the radar of many even in its heyday.
I don’t really experience stuff like this. I will note that whenever someone does make a comment about people playing to many games or games being a waste of time they usually spend just as much time binging tv series, watching sports, or scrolling mindlessly on their phone. There are some people who play too many games, I’m not denying that. Most of these people however sink all of their time into one game or a handful of games like DOTA, Fortnite, Overwatch etc. I do however think that the screen time of children should be monitored. I’ve seen too many kids that are addicted to a tablet or anything with a screen. I know for a fact had my video game time as a child not been relegated to weekends and holidays I would have spent much less time engaging in other activities.
They’re going to have to be better at explaining exactly what they mean when they say implementing AI. That’s a very open ended statement and could mean a lot of different things.
Somewhat disappointing news but I hope he’s able to continue making great games. I don’t understand why people get so caught up over stuff he says on Twitter. Your first problem isn’t that you’ve seen his tweets it’s the fact that you have a Twitter account. It’s probably the biggest cesspool on the internet and idk why people even scroll on that god awful place but whatever. Besides I try not to judge a game developer’s worth based on how good of a dinner guest they’d make, I judge them based on whether or not they make good games. Platinum has more hits than misses imo but since tencents investment I’ll be looking much more closely at how their future games turn out. It would be a shame if they got ruined because they let themselves get bossed around into pumping out rushed games.
Sounds like Microsoft’s version of sinicization. At this point everyone knows Xbox lost the console war of this gen. A good many of Xbox’s exclusives have been blunders and the OG Xbox one was a terrible console with awful performance. Not surprising to see Phil trying to make his brand seem as open and accepting as possible given that Xbox is falling far behind the competition. Not looking for a 4th console to keep up with, I’m getting tired of PlayStations BS as it is. Eventually I’ll probably just be Nintendo and PC.
They’re acting so cryptic about it like they’re developing a new weapon or something. I feel like regardless of what genre this “super game” is it is going to incorporate multiplayer. Probably to a large degree. I think there will be a single player mode but I imagine it will be negligible in the face of whatever online mode they have planned for it. All that said I think SEGA is building this up too much and they’re going to regret it.
Just release the rest of the games in collections and call it done. Metal Gear’s story has been told and continuing the series would just make it more convoluted than it should be. For me the series ended with 4. It was a perfect ending. Phantom Pain, while fun, was totally stupid and unnecessary. I got sick of the open world environment after a while as it’s just the same little outpost scattered across the map and then once in a while you get a big base that’s actually decently designed. Also the mission design must have taken hints from assassins creed’s notebook because there were way to many copy and paste missions for my liking.
For anyone thinking about it just go ahead and hack your 3DS if you’re worried. It’s pretty simple. Just need a micro sd adapter and computer with an sd card slot. Everything else is covered in guides online. Hacking your 3DS enables the use of larger memory cards so you can potentially store all your eshop software on your 3DS. Also fan translated games and custom themes.
Nope, I didn’t pick up sword and shield because of the lies regarding the reason for adding mons as dlc, performance issues, and easy difficulty. I will not be giving my money to a company that so grossly mishandles a franchise that has so much history and potential. DLC is not going to pull me into modern Pokémon. How Gamefreak can pump out some of the most lackluster games belonging to one of the most well known and lucrative IPs that currently exist is a wonder of the modern world.
I think exclusives are good. They promote competition which can lead to new and unique games. If it weren’t for exclusives a consoles worth would be based largely off of its graphical capabilities.
Wow never though I’d see the day when Sony would go to crap but it’s happened. I used to actually like Sony a lot because the PlayStation family of consoles has a history of great JP titles but that started to change once they implemented their censorship policies. Now most of the JP games have moved to Switch and PC while Sony seems to be distancing itself from anything that’s not a AAA blockbuster. I can’t even think of a single game on the PS5 that would cause me to buy one. Demon Souls didn’t need a remake because it’s barely a decade old and Ratchet and Clank is not worth buying a PS5. Those are the only games I can name of that I know are exclusive to PS5. This console came out in 2020 and I can only name 2 games that are exclusive to it. Crucify me now but I personally believe that exclusives are good for video games as it pushes for offering a different experience on one console than what is offered on a competing console.
Wow (no pun intended) what a twist of fate. Remember when Overwatch first came out and everyone and their uncle thought it was the best thing ever? I played overwatch a lot for a brief period and then quit after getting bored of the team death match over and over. Fast forward to now where there is supposedly a new game yet I’ve not heard anything new about it aside from some characters. It’s crazy how such a lauded game can have the tables turn and now everyone associates it with lack of innovation. Tbh though I’ve never understood why they made all these cool characters that have backstories just to shove them in a TF2 type shooter with no story mode and now it looks like there will not be a story mode at all with the announcement of the cancelled PvE mode. What a waste of cool story telling opportunities.
This song is unofficial ending theme to the 3DS lifecycle. The 3DS has seen me through adolescence, my first job, college, and it still provides me a much needed relief from the realities of adult life. To me it is the best console in the world and nothing will ever change that. https://youtu.be/35OQr6JabOM
I was not impressed by Scarlet and Violet (I don’t care what people say. Those games were low effort open world crap.), Pokémon TCG live left me with a bad impression after hearing the news that not all cards will transfer and other such issues, and now Pokémon is getting into blockchain? Screw The Pokémon Company. Pokémon is one of the coolest media franchises and it’s being ruined by a actual brain dead company that is pandering to their fervent fan base of white knighters that wouldn’t criticize them if they gave them actual dog turds for a game. I’ve got a vast collection of previous Pokémon games and media that I can revisit without having to support this company that doesn’t actually care about the product they’re selling. I’ll come back when they decide to make real Pokémon games again.
