Re: Talking Point: The Nintendo Switch Super Bowl Ad Was a Huge Success, But Why?

@Meaty-cheeky Nah I'm 18 and I feel like I have the most fun later at night when everyone else is asleep and I can put on my headphones without having to worry about not hearing someone calling me, it's great.

Can't wait for the switch. I'm in college so the only time I really can play a big game is in my dorm on my laptop, which is kind of big and a hassle to move around to my bed. It's gonna be so psychedelic playing a console zelda in bed or outside, AND with headphones!

Re: Review: Pokémon Sun and Moon (3DS)

@invictus4000 Aw you should have gone for black 1 then, black and white had the best stories, then in the sequels the story went back to normal mostly and more content was added to the world. But yeah B/W had the best stories (unless sun and moon are better, I don't know yet)

Re: Brooklyn Assemblyman Considering Pokémon GO Legislation

Little kids shouldn't be walking around alone anyway, that's proper "stranger danger" eticate anyway. You can't blame Nintendo for parents letting their kids go far away in potentially unsafe areas, especially late at night. If kids and everyone just used some common sense, like traveling in groups and not going anywhere late at night or off the beaten trail, there'd be a lot less of these incidents, Pokemon go or not.

Re: Pokémon Mystery Dungeon Treble Heading to the North American eShop This Week

@Gorlokk Oh yeah, I loved it personally, but yeah, I can definitely pick out some things that felt a bit... weird. The second half felt pretty rushed compared to the beginning. Storywise I'd say it was great but definitely not perfect, but I really digged the gameplay of SMD, it felt a lot more fun, but was actually still challenging. I'm not entirely sure why... but it was for me

Re: Soapbox: It's too Early to Judge Paper Mario: Color Splash

@CapricornDavid I think most people are upset that the game is full of generic toads and doesn't seem to be as creative with it's story or characters at all. I wouldn't mind sticker star's battle system as much if it actually had that creative spark and sense of wonder like the older games had. I don't care about them changing the gameplay, I loved super paper mario, but now they're just stripping the game of its soul, so it's incredibly shallow and tiring

Re: Soapbox: It's too Early to Judge Paper Mario: Color Splash

Jacadamia

@Project_Dolphin That was different though, more people had the hope/idea that it could still be like the older games, and it was the first portable paper mario game. This game will most likely not sell as well with fans of the earlier games as Sticker Star did because now it seems that we all know what to expect, everyone expected Sticker Star to be great, but we all know how that went for most people.

Re: Paper Mario Colour Splash Coming to Wii U

Jacadamia

@bobbypaycheque Sticker Star was a pretty good game, the main problem people have with it is that it kind of got rid of everything people hold dear about the early games: the partners, the story, and the originality. It just stuck to the mushroom kingdom, and the only npcs were Toads, all mostly red. There weren't any chapters, and there wasn't really a reason to battle. After all the charm and heart and originality that was put into the original 3, Sticker Star seemed like a slap to the face and a heartless game, especially when it was revealed in an Iwata Asks that Intelligent Systems had created a bunch of original characters and a story, but Miyamoto told them not to use it and to only stick to existing Mushroom Kingdom characters. Why? He felt they weren't important and were a distraction, when that's what made the older games so enjoyable.

Yeesh, I'm 17 and I usually feel the pressure from other people (like my older brother or my dad) to stop playing "kiddie" games, like games on 3DS or wii u. It really kind of sucks because now I often hesitate to express what I like around a lot of people, for fear of being judged for it. I love playing Nintendo games, because they're fun! They're really well-made and they always have a light-atmospher that can just take me to a better place if I need. I hate the notion that I should play certain things or act a certain way so that people won't look down on me. I just wish I could do a better job with not being so afraid to show it, since I'm nervous in the future if I ever get married if I'll ever get the courage to share with my partner what I really like, or if I'll just shove that part of myself aside for fear of being hurt. I'm not obsessed with games, and I often put other things higher in terms of priority, but I know I never want to just quit playing games, and I always want to play Nintendo. Especially Zelda, it's always given me that amazing sense of fun, emotion, and adventure.

Re: Review: FreezeME (Wii U eShop)

Jacadamia

I wish the main character was less... plain? I don't know, something about her just turns me off from this game, makes it seem a lot less magical/adventurous, when it's just some plain looking person with a camera running around a crazy-ish world, it's a little jarring to me

Re: Review: Pokémon Super Mystery Dungeon (3DS)

Alright, so I'm about 19 hours into this game and I LOVE it. I used to always hate the gameplay of all the games in this series, but what always kept me coming back was the story. This game does not disappoint in that area, and it's the first game in the series that got me to really enjoy the missions and exploring dungeons. I don't know how they did it, but they did. They added enough new mechanics and really made recruiting Pokemon through various missions much more satisfying and addictive through the new connection orb feature.

I think what really got me to enjoy the game a lot more was changing the way I played it. It's a lot more enjoyable if you think of it as more of a relaxing sort of game. It's definitely nowhere near as fast-paced as a lot of games today, so it's much more fun if you play it to relax or while you're winding down (this game does give you more to do in dungeons, so it is a small amount more energetic). A lot of the challenge and strategy comes from inventory management, being prepared for the dungeons you're heading off to and trying to think of all the things that could happen. That being said, playing this game for long periods of time will definitely start to drain the fun, so it's best to play for small amounts of time, about 3-4 hours the most for me.

I've played all of the games in the series (Blue, Time, Gates, and now this) while I do think Gates was the weakest, I still got enjoyment out of it (only for the main story though), Super, while I'm not yet done with the main story, feels a lot more lovingly crafted and the story is definitely a lot more on par with the Explorers games in terms of grandeur (plus, the graphics are better, and the music is awesome too!).

I say, for all you who have played Mystery Dungeon in the past and have gotten some enjoyment out of it, give this one a go, it'll surprise you if you give it the time. Anyone who enjoyed Gates will love this since it's so much better, and anyone who loved the previous games will definitely see this as a return to form. As for anyone curious about the game, this game is a great one to plunge into the series, it's a lot more refined and still keeps the difficulty, and the whole game feels like it had a lot of love put into it (talk to all the NPCs, they have a lot of dialogue!), love that reminds me of Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door even! So, if you're at all curious, please try this game out, I feel like the developers deserve to have their game recognized for all the hard work they put into it.

Re: Feature: The Biggest 3DS Retail Games of 2015 - Summer Edition

I'm actually really looking forward to super mystery dungeon, those games are always so charming and a real tear-jerker at times, plus I like having a game I can chill out with and relax. Aside of that, Zelda looks fun as usual, I liked four swords. Oh and if Dragon ball Z has download play I will be all over that, me and my brother used to play the one on gba all the time

Re: Shigeru Miyamoto Defends Star Fox Zero's Controls

Jacadamia

Honestly the control scheme doesn't seem hard at all. It's just different, and new. You tilt the game pad to move the reticle separate from moving your ship, simple. And on occasion you'll have to look at the gamepad when the main screen goes all cinematic, like in free range mode. It's really simple to understand, so I doubt it'd be incredibly hard to get into. Just don't expect it to have the same exact control scheme as 64. If it did, well, this game wouldn't be that "new" now would it?
