Re: Metroid Prime 4 & Hyrule Warriors: Age Of Imprisonment Sales Get Off To A Slow Start

Itsashame

It seems like Nintendo wasn't convinced with the quality themselves as much either. I've seen surprinsgly little mainstream advertisement for it. Still plan to pick it up eventually tho.

The Warrior games are a bit if an acquired taste already and to me not worth their initial asking price at all. The type of game I'd pick up if I'm bored and happen to see it for €20 or €30 on a sale.

Re: Dispatch Uncensored Physical Switch Release Apparently Not Possible

Itsashame

@Jeronan Apparently those Hentai games do not contain any nudity at all, so there is nothing to be censored there.

If it was on Adhoc they could easily say 'Sorry we will patch it and fix it', but they can't somehow do that. This is on Nintendo not allowing the content. Why would Adhoc release an uncensored version on PS5 and PC but not want to do that on Switch.

Re: Dispatch Uncensored Physical Switch Release Apparently Not Possible

Itsashame

In each statement Adhoc has said or implied that Nintendo didn't allow the uncensored version of the game. Somehow people keep saying: 'They Just Didn't Want To Do 2 Versions!!! It's Not On Nintendo!!'. All based on fan theory and not on insider information. The statements itself are not ambiguous or vague, people are just overanalyzing and weighing every word in each statement to find a way that it implies they are wrong and not Nintendo.

@SuppressorSteve For what's an interactive story the black boxes to cover up look ridiculous. If they would have recreated the images that it was less intrusive and put some effort it already be a bit better. However, censorship is bad as it messes with how we are intended to experience the game and can easily become a gliding scale. I don't need someone from Nintendo deciding what I can or can't see in a 18+ rated videogame. If you need to censor videogames to 'protect' the audience it's still not a serious medium for storytelling compared to books or movies.

Re: Feature: Nintendo Life eShop Selects (January 2026)

Itsashame

I was planning to get Dispatch, but will wait to see if they fix it in future updates. Grid looks like a good game and might pick it up at a later date (if I decide to get the GameCube controller). Still hoping for a Forza announcement tho.

Any chance that you guys will review Citadelum? Looks interesting, but surprisingly little can be found about the Switch 2 version.

Re: Dispatch Dev AdHoc Responds To Nintendo's Statement, Says It Intends To Address Censored Switch Content

Itsashame

@Discostew Okay, but then why do they have to say that they are confident they can patch some of the censored content back in? That sounds like they don't think they can deliver the fully uncensored version even after patches. And I just find it odd that everyone is so convinced Adhoc must be the one lying, while their statement now is much more direct than what Nintendo said. They even say they were surprised by it as well. If this is really all a lie to cover themselves it's going to come back to them hard.

Also what people have previously stated about content of other games does not necessarily need to apply to Dispatch? As they do seem to push the border for the type of content you usually see in videogames.

Anyway, if they manage to solve everything with a patch that would be great, I'll buy it. If they don't also fine, I'll play something else.

Re: PSA: Dispatch's 'Visual Censorship' Settings Can't Be Removed On Switch

Itsashame

@Friendly How is this evidence tho? This could still be done in agreement with Nintendo? Adhocs statement implied it was done like that, a random guy on Reddit supports your claim and still uses words like 'likely they did this because they are a small Indie developer'. They are still guessing.

You might be right, you might not be but you haven't found a smoking gun. Frankly, I don't care that much, so as the other guy said, stop tagging me over this.

Re: Tomodachi Life: Living The Dream Moves In On Switch 1 This April

Itsashame

Funny to see all these free speech warriors come out just to show their disapproval. They don't have anything interesting to say and never seem to realize there is also something like the right place and moment to discuss things.

Anyway, I'm not interested in the game myself. I didn't get the appeal back when the 3ds game released and I still don't see it. But nice to see many people excited for it!

Re: PSA: Dispatch's 'Visual Censorship' Settings Can't Be Removed On Switch

Itsashame

@Quarbit How many parents would buy an interactive story that is rated 18+ for nudity and strong language for their kids? Or how many parents will buy Cyberpunk or the upcoming Resident Evil by accident for their kids? All high profile games, that are not targeted at children.

Sorry but the argument does not hold up at all. It's still not a game for kids, just there are huge black bars now for us as well.

Re: PSA: Dispatch's 'Visual Censorship' Settings Can't Be Removed On Switch

Itsashame

@Friendly your source is someone on Reddit tho? Did someone from the development team share this on discord? Or are you using some other guy on the internet claiming the same as you to be right? Lol. Also you claiming the devs are probably after the bad press? Sorry but most things you say hardly make any sense dude.

Anyway, as someone already commented on the Reddit thread, they already had the toggle option in the game. It's not like it needed a whole lot of adjustment to deliver the 2 versions. In the end whether it's Nintendo or the devs fault doesn't even matter that much. People are rightfully upset and won't get the game. That for sure hurts the developer more than it ever would hurt Nintendo.

Re: PSA: Dispatch's 'Visual Censorship' Settings Can't Be Removed On Switch

Itsashame

@Friendly ah right, that was kind of a joke. Still so far Nintendo is the only platform that received the censored version of this game. So perhaps not in others, but it is actually true in this case in particular?

Also you keep blaming it on the developer as it was their choice, but they stated:

"Different platforms have different content criteria, and submissions are evaluated individually. For our Switch release, we worked with Nintendo to adapt certain elements so Dispatch could be on their platform."

This reads as if they wanted it to be on Switch they had to adapt because of Nintendo. Anyway I'm done with the discussion lol.

Re: PSA: Dispatch's 'Visual Censorship' Settings Can't Be Removed On Switch

Itsashame

@Friendly I'm just stating my opinion about a topic that is considered controversial by many and passionately defended by only a few people, like yourself.

It should be up to me to decide whether I want the censored version or not. Like in all the other versions of the game... I can't think of any reason why it would be good to get this version compared to the others. Maybe those people who always claim Nintendo is just for kids have a point after all 🙃

Re: PSA: Dispatch's 'Visual Censorship' Settings Can't Be Removed On Switch

Itsashame

@Friendly Why are you defending this decision by Nintendo so strongly? The dev had the option to toggle censorship right there in the game.

On Playstation and PC you can play it and intended, but Nintendo decides that we can't handle it? It's just a weird decision for them to make on a 18+ game. How is your 'Youtube some boobs then' even a valid argument? You can't be serious with that 🤣

Re: Review: Dispatch Nintendo Switch 2 Edition - A Cracking Superhero Caper, With Some Naughty Bits Covered Up

Itsashame

Hmm I was looking forward to it, and while I do not necessarily care a lot whether I can see some cartoon genitals or not, it does suck that Nintendo feels they need to censor the artists original vision (and that we get annoying black blocks..). If a game is listed for 18+ why do they need to do this. Weird move and I might just play it somewhere else then.

Re: GRID Legends: Deluxe Edition Races Onto Switch 2 Later This Month

Itsashame

@Rykdrew Damn, didn't know that. Bit if a bummer I guess, but I still want the GameCube controller out of nostalgic feelings. So would still try it with this game anyway.

Just wondering since you seem to know more about it, how is it only 3-4 levels in practice? According to some forums there should 256 levels? Would love to know more!

Re: Rumour: Call Of Duty's Nintendo Release Is Apparently On Target For 2026

Itsashame

I'd probably check it out if it's the free War Zone version. Other than that I don't think Call of Duty is a big deal anymore at the moment, and don't see myself spending €70 on it. Unless they go above and beyond and create a must have game (they won't, and I doubt they even could if they wanted to at this point) I don't see this becoming a huge success.

Re: Mario Tennis On Switch 2 Has 38 Playable Characters – "The Most In Series History"

Itsashame

@Joe11 Well, you have a great taste in games. I also enjoy indie games but they are not a direct replacement or comparable for me. Cyberpunk and Yakuza 0 are both great games tho, can't go wrong with either of them. I do think Nintendo first party games have been very good to great (Mario Kart, Donkey Kong and Kirby) and don't really have a better alternative for the exact same type of game. (I haven't played Metroid yet and the Warrior games I don't really enjoy myself)

Re: Mario Tennis On Switch 2 Has 38 Playable Characters – "The Most In Series History"

Itsashame

@GoldenSunRM I interpreted your original comment as writing of the whole game because of the baby characters in the story mode, not just as a complaint about the story mode itself.

I agree that the baby's are the least exciting characters from the Mario franchise. I'll still check out the story mode, and I really like the idea of the 30 different Fever rackets in the game. I'm confident it will be a great game.

Re: Mario Tennis On Switch 2 Has 38 Playable Characters – "The Most In Series History"

Itsashame

@GoldenSunRM Fair enough. But you have been enjoying (that's another assumption on my part lol) 1000s of hours on these games, and apparently are still not happy with them?

I just think it's such a pity that everyone keeps saying how these games are so bare-bones and not worth it. I can understand that if you don't like sports game adding the Mario theme to it will not make it great experience. But as far as arcade sports games go, these are pretty great with polished gameplay and probably the last fun and big releases that are left within the genre. For that alone I hope they continue making them.

Re: Mario Tennis On Switch 2 Has 38 Playable Characters – "The Most In Series History"

Itsashame

@Joe11 which 3rd party games are superior and cheaper compared to Nintendo's recent games? And please don't come with Sonic Crossworlds again (it's good, not better and lacks all the charm).

I'll pick it up, generally like tennis games and never got around playing Aces. Also, I know most people dislike it but I think the core gameplay of Mario Strikers Battle League was absolutely great. I guess there is little love for arcade sports game, because if the gameplay is that good I personally don't need a story mode (as a requirement for a sport game, really?) and all that extra stuff to enjoy it. It's like complaining that NBA Jam doesn't have a story mode. Cool that they included one in here, but definitely not the main draw of the game for me.

Re: Bloober Team Is Teasing Something Mysterious For February

Itsashame

I think Project M is a new IP and not Eternal Darkness or Metroid related (although this website might not be project M related at all anyway).

They have released this teaser trailer quite some time ago: https://youtu.be/xIYTTFIZS0c?si=hh7UihRnlHRH3lcH

Looking at this teaser again, I think it's motion controlled game with puppet master mechanics playable with a single joy-con. It's a 2 player game, resembled by red and blue color in the teaser trailer and will be released on Switch and Switch 2. That's my guess.

Re: "If Mario Starts To Show Up On PlayStation, That's The Apocalypse, Right?" - Ex-PlayStation Boss Thinks Console Exclusives Are Still Important

Itsashame

@UltimateOtaku91

I don't think Nintendo values customer loyalty as you state it by not chasing extra sales. I believe it's just the best business model for Nintendo and making them the most profit. If they would release their games on PS5 the main draw to buy a Nintendo (Nintendo exclusive games) would be lost. I don't have a problem with it, but I don't believe they do it with us in mind.

Re: Horror Dev Bloober Team On Its New Exclusive: "This Is A Vision That Could Only Exist On Nintendo Hardware."

Itsashame

@Yoshi3

Although your reasoning makes sense, there is this teaser from the publisher of the game:

https://youtu.be/xIYTTFIZS0c?si=0ascxMhWvXz26plh

Perhaps doesn't tell us much, but it seems different to Sadness. My guess is that there will be motion controls used for some kind of puppeteer mechanics. Just a guess, since they mentioned it can only be released on Nintendo hardware there must be some unique part they utilize.

Re: Review: Terminator 2D: NO FATE (Switch) - A Simplistic Yet Fascinating 16-Bit Love Letter

Itsashame

Humm I was really looking forward to this one, and I expected it to be a bit better. Maybe it's just me, but I would have liked to read a bit more how it actually plays. Other than 'plays like contra and controls are solid' there's not much about it?

Linear and simplistic I don't mind, and given the type of game it's not really a negative (for me). Many classic platformers and beat em up/shoot em up games don't really need rogue like Metroidvania mechanics to be great. I love Terminator 2, but in terms of gameplay is it disappointing? Am I better of playing something like Contra or Metal Slug?
