Wow, the Wii Update 4.0 is long overdue and a welcome sight. Although I'm more excited about the possibilities than the actual outcome, it's a step in the right direction. (I think it's a big step, but that's just me.)
Maybe now we'll see the "Arch Rivals" arcade classic! "Arch Rivals" was the most not-like-Basketball "Basketball" game I ever played.
@WiiGuy: "Game Boy" and "Game Boy Advance" are specifically named. I'd be surprised if they made NES games available. It's not impossible, just improbable.
I grabbed Bit.Trip: Beat last night and had a good time with it. It's a good game, but harder than I expected... I guess it has a steep learning curve. Aside from that, my only complaint is that the "beats" occasionally get "lost" by blending into the background.
"the increased firepower of the Wii" - you really don't hear that often...or at all.. And Chris van der Linden even added the phrase "make use of"! (That's downright rare...)
This new CC is pretty useless. Maybe if someone doesn't have ANY classic controller this would be OK, but this is basically the same thing as the original Classic Controller with that handle-add-on-thing stuck on it. (and if I wanted bulk, I'd take the GameCube controller over this)
@ Nintendo-Naut: "I mean, who puts the wire on the bottom?!" The Sega Dreamcast
"Swords & Soldiers" looks good, but I don't play RTS games. (Actually, this appears to be targeting the same demographic as "Defend Your Castle"...and we all know how that sold.)
@ Starwolf_UK: "Anyway, this game has to have the weirdest implination of fiendly fire I've seen in an FPS 9usually its a case of do you hurt them or not?"
I think this implementation of friendly-fire is an awesome idea. It could virtually eliminate "spawn camping"!
"My guess is that Sonic & knuckles won't hit the VC til Sega/Nintendo work out how theyr'e gonna get sonic 3 + knuckles on there."
@ouenben: You think they're working on it? They don't care. S&K will be released if something accidentally happens while Nintendo is working on something else.
I wouldn't mind seeing "Ikari Warriors", but I'm not holding my breath.
I downloaded this last night and it isn't bad. (1) The whole initial 'menu' thing (picking a level and starting a game) is confusing because you just seem to start playing without warning and (2) the 'jump' physics take a lot of getting used to because they're nothing like Mario's (which platformers emulate). However, considering all of my gripes, this title isn't bad overall. Interesting and worth the 500 points.

Speaking of Secret if Mana, I keep getting lost (pre-Flammie) and this site helps keep me on-track. (www.rpgclassics.com/shrines/snes/som) Hope this helps...
It took me a while yesterday to log-in and connect my My Nintendo account with my Club Nintendo account. I think Nintendo's servers were just overwhelmed initially with everyone trying to access it at the same time. ... (edit) That website is buggy as heck. I'll wait a few days and then try again.
This gameplay looks surprisingly simple and fun (although I can see how switching between the two ball types could get difficult at times). I'm actually looking forward to this one!
HVS seems like they have a good idea of what good controls SHOULD BE, now we'll just have to wait and see if they materialize. (Animales=good, Conduit=good.)

Re: Video - The Making of Bit.Trip Beat
BitTrip:Beat is a cool game. I'm really glad I bought it. I just wish either (1) I was better at it or (2) it wasn't so difficult so quickly...

Re: Gunstar Heroes
"Gunstar Heroes" for the Genesis/MD is one of the greatest video games ever made!
Re: Akinai Games Announces NEVES Plus
This actually looks pretty interesting...depending on the puzzles...
Re: ColorZ - New WiiWare Puzzler
Doesn't look too bad... I wonder how fast people will use two human players in solo mode.
Re: GameLoft Enters the DSiWare Market
Sounds kinda boring to me...but it may just be "not my style".

I'm anxiously awaiting this!
Re: Cube: Gardens of Zen Coming To WiiWare
This actually looks pretty cool...
Re: Gamelion Studios Interview - Furry Legends
"We wanted something simple, something we could learn on."
Now I'm hesitant. Hopefully the controls and physics will be better than "Niki Rock'n'Ball".
Re: Furry Legends
Sooo, "Niki Rock'n'Ball" and "LostWinds" had a baby?

Re: Wisconsin To Tax Digital Downloads
This would only effect a minuscule amount of console gamers and a minority of PC gamers...

Re: Top 20 WiiWare Games in USA (25th Feb)
I'm not surprised at all to see these lists remain relatively unchanged. There not releasing that many good games on WiiWare lately.
Re: International Karate
@Ikiosho: What was the name of the arcade game with two analog sticks and no buttons? I thought THAT was Karate Champ.
Re: Take Five and Double It!
So now we have more pages? Sigh. Great. Now we'll have more opportunities for kiddies to yell "first message, first message"...
Re: More Details About Swords & Soldiers
"Swords & Soldiers" looks good, but I don't play RTS games. (Actually, this appears to be targeting the same demographic as "Defend Your Castle"...and we all know how that sold.)

Re: Animales de la Muerte Officially NOT Coming To WiiWare
Aww. Animales de la Muerte sounded like fun...
Re: Top 20 WiiWare Games in USA (11th Feb)
I still don't have WoG. I still don't want it.
Re: Eduardo the Samurai Toaster - First Look Video
Wow, looks a lot more fun than I thought it would be. Cool!

Re: Bubble Bobble Plus Gets Rated for Western Release
I love the original Bubble Bobble and play it on the V.C. Should I really buy a second copy of essentially the same game?
Re: Top 20 WiiWare Games in USA (28th Jan)
No WoG here. It just never seemed that interesting.

Re: Niki - Rock 'n Ball Released in the US Next Week
I loved Bubble Bobble and still play it actually. This looks pretty good. And for 500 points it's a winner! Looks like another DL for me...
Re: Top 20 WiiWare Games in USA (14th Jan)
Bomberman Blast is such multiplayer fun!
Re: Jungle Speed
Kudos for giving us a game people can play with ONLY the nunchuk!
Re: Planet Pachinko Out Next Monday On WiiWare
It really doesn't matter if you know what Pachinko is or not. By the looks of things... this is Pachinko in name only.
Re: Semnat Studios Interview - Eduardo the Samurai Toaster
I initially thought "Eduardo" sounded decent...and then there was mention of Gunstar Heroes and Metal Slug. Now I'm quite intrigued!
Re: Metacritic's Best Wii Games of 2008
Yay brawl!
Re: USA WiiWare Update: Tiki Towers & Fun! Fun! Minigolf
@Tony: Skywarp is awesome! (My favorite of the Decepticon planes.)
Hopefully Fun Fun Minigolf is indeed...fun.
Re: USA VC Update: Phantasy Star IV
Eh, I'm still playing Secret of Mana...

Re: Hands on with SnakeByte's XS Starter Pack
@Bensei: Wouldn't primary Wii controllers lacking motion-sensing capabilities be useless for most games?

Re: EU WiiWare Update: Cubello, Cue Sports, Cooking Jam and Strong Bad 3
So, by using that pic and caption, is WWW implying German people can't count? I'm really not looking to start an argument, I just thought it was odd.
"A happy German fellow celebrates today's quartet of WiiWare games" - and the chap holds up five fingers...
Regardless, I'm happy for the EU WiiWare gamers!
Re: Wayforward Interview - LIT
Is this a two-player game? One of the screenshots looks like it features two flashlights.
Re: Incredible Technologies Interview: Target Toss Pro Bags
Hmm, cornhole indoors....
Re: Strong Bad Episode 4: Dangeresque 3 Coming To US WiiWare On Monday
Looks really cool!
Re: Target Toss Pro Bags Coming To US WiiWare On Monday
Well, if you don't have the space to set-up a cornhole game...this would suffice.
Re: Art Style Series Coming To Europe Soon
"European WiiWare fans ...will soon be put out of their misery."
Um, this doesn't sound good..
Re: Steel Penny Games Interview: Bruiser and Scratch
Yay, MORE puzzle games?
Re: Top 20 WiiWare Games in USA (29th Oct)
@slambert215:
Bomberman Blast is so much frantic fun...
