Re: Bang!

Ian_Daemon

Please stop with the puzzle games unless you come up with something new...which NO ONE has.

Re: Secret of Mana

Ian_Daemon

I spent a couple of hours last night "grinding" and this is still a fun game after all these years...and all the competition.

Re: Kaasa Interview - Commodore 64 on Virtual Console

Ian_Daemon

"good interview though. very interesting and thought provoking."

What are you talking about? He didn't say anything. He said repeatedly: "I can't tell you... doing a great job... I'm glad you're enjoying it."

Although he DID say "I can say that there is no title planned to use the USB keyboard yet."

@morphballer:
In Grandia II, at various times, you could talk with your party members at a campfire or dinner table.

Re: Secret of Mana

Ian_Daemon

I downloaded and played Secret of Mana last night. Woooo! Eight bucks for such an awesome game? No question, a must buy! Now I just have to make time to play it to completion.

I can name various characters...I can switch which character leads my party on the fly...THREE player co-op in an RPG!...Equipping a different weapon actually makes a visual difference. I know this all sounds trivial, but for the time was freakin' awesome! Still is.

OH, and I forgot to mention, it's so small (filesize)! I was going to start the download and go get a drink, but I didn't have time. I stayed because I was surprised it was downloading so quickly. I guess I'm used to the WiiWare download times now...

Re: Treasure To Support WiiWare?

Ian_Daemon

Sin & Punishment 2 is going to be good. This time I can play Treasure games when they're originally released! (I was FMV-obsessed back in the day. Now that FMV is dead and routinely lambasted, I’m all Nintendo.)

(I still think Super Duper Gunstar Heroes would be good though...)

Re: Treasure: Buy Dynamite Headdy, You Fools

Ian_Daemon

So... Maegawa is disappointed with the sales of ONE of his games on the VC? Treasure has multiple games on the VC that sold really, really well. It's not like Dynamite Headdy wasn't originally released years ago. It wasn't free back then. Maegawa just looks greedy at this point.

Re: Wii Chess Comes to WiiWare in Japan

Ian_Daemon

Good to hear about the cross-continent-cross-purchasing-method gameplay. I feel for Europe, but then again this is chess. So I don't feel AS bad considering these are "chess freaks". (And they're probably small in number.)

Re: First Impressions: MadStone

Ian_Daemon

And RiverMan Media says the puzzle genre isn't crowded on WiiWare. Yeah right. Have they seen it lately? I know people can argue that RiverMan Media spends its time working on MadStone, but is it really a good idea to comment on things you know nothing about? Wait a minute... isn't that what I'm doing? Kinda...

Re: Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars

Ian_Daemon

Apologetically, I'm surprised... Super Mario RPG is still interesting and fun after all this time... I didn't like Paper Mario or Super Paper Mario, but Super Mario RPG is quite charming. Seeing as I missed this one the first time around, I'm delighted to have the chance to play this now!

Re: English Alien Crush Returns Website Launches

Ian_Daemon

I agree with both 'Mario64Style' and 'Mr.chippy'. This looks cool and very interesting, but I don't know if I can find three friends that will get it let alone play it online. Bomberman is a much easier sell for the uninitiated.

Re: Nyko Set To Release Wireless Classic Controller

Ian_Daemon

Aside from the button configuration I'm not sure how this is any better than a CC/WaveBird combo. I love both. I just can't seem to think of a case where I'd need something other than those...

And the original description above says that it USES THE WIIMOTE. So basically I'm using two sets of batteries? One set in the Wiimote and a second set in the Wing?

Re: Bomberman Blasting Into Japan This Month

Ian_Daemon

The screenshots show eight players simultaneous. Anyway, this looks like fun even if we only get multiplayer. This is turning out to be like '93 but better. I wonder if you can turn things on and off like in Brawl?
