I downloaded and played Secret of Mana last night. Woooo! Eight bucks for such an awesome game? No question, a must buy! Now I just have to make time to play it to completion.
I can name various characters...I can switch which character leads my party on the fly...THREE player co-op in an RPG!...Equipping a different weapon actually makes a visual difference. I know this all sounds trivial, but for the time was freakin' awesome! Still is.
OH, and I forgot to mention, it's so small (filesize)! I was going to start the download and go get a drink, but I didn't have time. I stayed because I was surprised it was downloading so quickly. I guess I'm used to the WiiWare download times now...

The WiiWare screenshots look a lot sharper than the original graphics. This release's increased resolution could lead to clearer/sharper/more jagged graphics.
@Objection_Blaster: Who really gives a crap about "first post" anyway? Why does everyone keep saying that? Is there some contest I don't know about? (It's like advertising that you have no life.)
Sin & Punishment 2 is going to be good. This time I can play Treasure games when they're originally released! (I was FMV-obsessed back in the day. Now that FMV is dead and routinely lambasted, I’m all Nintendo.)
(I still think Super Duper Gunstar Heroes would be good though...)
So... Maegawa is disappointed with the sales of ONE of his games on the VC? Treasure has multiple games on the VC that sold really, really well. It's not like Dynamite Headdy wasn't originally released years ago. It wasn't free back then. Maegawa just looks greedy at this point.
“Working with RealNetworks has allowed us to branch out to Nintendo’s Wii and create an innovative new IP with awesome physics and fantastic visuals”... and those fantastic visuals are where?
Now let's see this update apply to ALL downloadable games, VC and WW. This sounds like a good idea. We'll just need some way to see what's on the SD Card. I agree with the new channel idea.
@Jackolantern: Depending on the game, it could take a long time.
Clay Fighter wasn't necessarily a bad game... not a stellar one, but not horrible. Major League Eating for WiiWare looks very similar to the "Bite Night" mini-game in the The Simpsons game on the Wii. (And "Bite Night" was very dumb.)
Good to hear about the cross-continent-cross-purchasing-method gameplay. I feel for Europe, but then again this is chess. So I don't feel AS bad considering these are "chess freaks". (And they're probably small in number.)
And RiverMan Media says the puzzle genre isn't crowded on WiiWare. Yeah right. Have they seen it lately? I know people can argue that RiverMan Media spends its time working on MadStone, but is it really a good idea to comment on things you know nothing about? Wait a minute... isn't that what I'm doing? Kinda...
Apologetically, I'm surprised... Super Mario RPG is still interesting and fun after all this time... I didn't like Paper Mario or Super Paper Mario, but Super Mario RPG is quite charming. Seeing as I missed this one the first time around, I'm delighted to have the chance to play this now!
I agree with both 'Mario64Style' and 'Mr.chippy'. This looks cool and very interesting, but I don't know if I can find three friends that will get it let alone play it online. Bomberman is a much easier sell for the uninitiated.
Aside from the button configuration I'm not sure how this is any better than a CC/WaveBird combo. I love both. I just can't seem to think of a case where I'd need something other than those...
And the original description above says that it USES THE WIIMOTE. So basically I'm using two sets of batteries? One set in the Wiimote and a second set in the Wing?
Strong Bad Episode 2 is different enough from Strong Bad Episode 1 to warrant a purchase, yet Strong Badia The Free still contains all the same humor and references... I'm diggin' it.

The screenshots show eight players simultaneous. Anyway, this looks like fun even if we only get multiplayer. This is turning out to be like '93 but better. I wonder if you can turn things on and off like in Brawl?

Re: Mega Man 9 DLC Round-up
Couldn't they just make MM10 on MM9's engine and be done that much faster?

"SPOGS 2: Reinventing the Wheel"
Re: Art Style: Cubello
Looks kinda cool...
Re: Baddest of the Bands Launches 27th Oct On WiiWare
Re: Overturn Coming To Japanese WiiWare
From the look of things, I applaud the "not a puzzle-game"-aspect.
Re: Bang!
Please stop with the puzzle games unless you come up with something new...which NO ONE has.

Re: Secret of Mana
I spent a couple of hours last night "grinding" and this is still a fun game after all these years...and all the competition.
Re: Kaasa Interview - Commodore 64 on Virtual Console
"good interview though. very interesting and thought provoking."
What are you talking about? He didn't say anything. He said repeatedly: "I can't tell you... doing a great job... I'm glad you're enjoying it."
Although he DID say "I can say that there is no title planned to use the USB keyboard yet."
Re: Mart Racer To Bring Supermarket Sweep Excitement To WiiWare
Eh, not for me, but I'm sure people will enjoy it.
Re: The Incredible Maze
I really didn't like the "roll-goal" mini-game in Zelda:Twilight Princess, but this looks like it might be fun.
Re: Is WayForward's LIT Going To Light Up Our Lives Soon?
I agree with "that_dan_guy"... Sounds interesting! I can't wait to see screenshots and some video.
@Fleeman: The "speaker as phone" stuff in Zack & Wiki was awesome. (In fact, that whole game was awesome...)
Re: Tetris Party Released On WiiWare In Japan
"Haven't we gotten enough remakes of tetris?"
Uh, "Bomberman" games really haven't changed that much, but Bomberman Blast is still a hoot. I love it.
Re: Secret of Mana
@morphballer:
In Grandia II, at various times, you could talk with your party members at a campfire or dinner table.

Re: USA VC Releases: Secret of Mana and Street Fighter II Genesis
I LOVED the multiplayer aspect of Secret of Mana back in the day. This is a definite download! Yay!
Re: Marvelous Bringing Discipline To WiiWare
The graphic-style looks cool and would lend itself really well to a deep, drawn-out story in-game.

Re: Strong Bad Episode 3 - Baddest of the Bands
Ep 1 was fun, but I thought Ep 2 was more fun than Ep1 and Ep3 sounds like it will be more fun than Ep2... geesh... money WELL spent.
Re: More Bit Generations Games Coming To WiiWare
I just saw some gameplay on YouTube. DotStream and Dialhex look cool...simple, but cool.
Re: More Bit Generations Games Coming To WiiWare
I've never played any bit Generations games. Are they any good?
Re: Treasure To Support WiiWare?
Yeah Treasure, how about Super Duper Gunstar Heroes. for WiiWare. THAT I'd buy.

Re: USA WiiWare Update: Bomberman Blast And Art Style: ORBIENT
Bomberman... yay!
I went home on my lunch break and downloaded this gem. (I had to buy Wii Points specifically for this, but now I'm good to go!) See you online!

SBCG4AP episode 2 is better than episode 1.
