I just downloaded SMRPG last night and it's pretty cool. I was hesitant to see what SE would do with the Mario universe, but I like this game. I'm not a fan of the "Paper Mario" games, but SMRPG is better than all the "sequels".
On Topic: I'm a fan of shooters, but mainly vertical shooters. I'm not sure why. Does Gradius ReBirth have the ability to switch the screen orientation? I'm guessing it doesn't because (1) then it wouldn't be like the 16-bit version and (2) it would have been mentioned above.
My friends and I have a blast with Bomberman '93 (already on the V.C.) and this looks to be SOOO much better. More players? Online gameplay? Mii support? New abilities? Team play? This is looking better and better.
@Bass XO: I have no idea... That was a loooong time ago.
This is an early standard for multi-player!
@Sage Joch: Good memory. It was called the Super Nintendo Multitap (in the U.S. anyway) I still have mine. It's in the original box if you can believe it...
I've read other people say that Star Parodier gets hard fast. I agree!. I had trouble starting at level four. (I'm not even sure if I can make it past level seven.)
I'm just not sure about the game pausing while the screen moves between sections of the main table.... however it's slight so it may not be a big deal. The gameplay just looks jittery/laggy. (Never mind, it's just that guy's videos make every game look jittery/laggy.)
@Apocalypse: Yes, but by doing this WWW is able to spread out the limited SBCG4AP advertising material and generate more interest in the ongoing series.
It seems that every copy of SBCG4AP has the freezing issue. After completing the story, just talk to Coach Z, your Wii WILL lock-up. (You can apply items to him, you just can't talk to him without an item in your hand.) Different outfits don't seem to have any effect. Am I missing something?
Do we know at what point in the game this shop appears? (i.e. is it available from the start, do we have to beat the game once to access it) It seems like it would make the game too easy if it were easily accessible.
OK, slightly embarrassed to admit that I haven't gotten far enough to have freezing problems yet. It may have something to do with the lack of free time this week, but that's probably just an excuse.
Maybe Nintendo is trying to address the storage solution before putting any more N64 games on the VC? (But that doesn't make sense with the WiiWare titles being larger...) I dunno.
Anyway, Star Parodier is a great game. It offers... almost three times the gameplay that Soldier Blade does and I loves me some Soldier Blade.
I downloaded SBCG4AP and played it last night. Very worth the money! Funny and very true to the characters. If you like the Internet cartoons or website, you'll really get a kick out of SBCG4AP.
@ lockelocke: Yes this is King's Quest-style gameplay. I think. I could be forgetting something important as I haven't played King's/Police Quest games in a long time. It's great to see the style of game return to prominence...
By the way, what ever happened to Zombie Ate My Neighbors? That used to be "complained" about alongside Earthbound (and a lot more than SMRPG). Did I miss something?
The screenshots look really good. I wonder why it got a low score? Most likely the reviewers didn't understand it. We're likely to continue seeing a lot of "niche" games on the V.C. and WiiWare. That's where they'd thrive (and be loved/hated).
Typical Nintendo. They do two things in my experience. (1) They make a plethora of peripherals and then ensure they get very limited support; (2) They delay the release of games. Oh, and I guess I forgot about mistreating third parties...
Oh well, don’t mind me. I’m just having a pity-party.
Mega Man 9 is sounding better and better. Reproducing the glitches of the past REALLY provides the retro experience for this 'retro'-themed game. I love it!
Eh, the pricing is a bit high considering I'll be buying every episode, but I'm glad I'll finally be getting the game(s). Hopefully NoA doesn't mess with TTG and hold their game for even longer... (NoA has already delayed it twice.)

Re: Nintendo’s Storage Solution: Better Than HDD, Expected Soon
Um, didn't Nintendo file for a patent or something about holographic technology? This is probably it...
Re: RiverMan Media Interview - MadStone
I don’t find the puzzle genre to be especially crowded.
You sir, are wrong.
Re: Japan Can 'Play With Kappa' In September
Yeah, the Japanese are a bunch of weirdos. Learning from video games? Pfff
Re: Liight
This looks interesting, but I'm not sure it warrants its own game. This seems like a cool pub-mini-game in a larger Zelda game...
Maybe I'm wrong. The WiiWare game could have tons of depth, but I'll wait to see/hear more...
Re: First Impressions: Gradius ReBirth
Off Topic: Star Parodier is freakin' sweet.

Re: Top 20 WiiWare Games in USA (3rd Sept)
Hmph, the Canada chart is different from the U.S.A. chart? Isn't there an N.A. service?

Re: Top 20 WiiWare Games in USA (27th August)
Nintendo is really "painting themselves into a corner" on this storage space issue.

Re: EU VC Releases: Bio Miracle Bokutte Upa and Dig Dug
People that don't know or have never played Dig Dug have been living under a rock or weren't born before the PS2.

Re: Strong Badia the Free - Trailer And Screenshots
I just noticed that the photo in one of the screenshots is of Colonel Homestar Runner! Awesome! The Homestarmy is great!

The "team" functionality sounds cool....

Re: Hockey Allstar Shootout is coming to WiiWare
This sounds like the kind of "fan favourite/favorite" that Pong Toss is.
Re: Review: Midnight Pool (WiiWare)
Sinking the 8-ball doesn't automatically lose you the game according to the official rulebook. However most people think that and play that way.
Re: Last Flight - Artwork!
@Negative_Zero:
That's what Parental Controls ("PC") are FOR. It's not Nintendo's fault when they provide them and the no one uses them!
Re: Review: Midnight Pool (WiiWare)
@BuzzDee:
Maybe Bensei meant "Break In" which is currently on the V.C.? (another pool/billiards game)

Re: Top 20 WiiWare Games in America (13th August)
@stratos: I agree except for the pizza delivery part.
It's great to see that SBCG4AP was initially so well received. Let's hope it continues throughout the series!
Re: Braid Is Too Big For WiiWare
Sad to hear that Braid won't be making the leap; it sounded like an interesting romp.

Oh it's definitely limited!

Re: Review: Strong Bad Episode 1 - Homestar Ruiner (WiiWare)
@WaddleWave: No trial and error? Respectfully, hell yeah there is.
Good score overall. Highly recommended for H*R fans, recommended for point-and-click fans, everyone on the fence should play the PC demo.
Re: My Aquarium Coming To Europe This Friday
This actually looks boring...
Re: Mega Man 9 Opening Cinematic - Retrotastic!
@Hyperfludd: I would like to see an 8-bit Resident Evil game from Capcom. Ha ha, that would be funny.
Re: Top 20 WiiWare Games in America (13th August)
It's nice to see SBCG4AP doing so well. I hoped it would, but I'm only one person...

Re: USA WiiWare Update: Strong Bad Episode One
It's gonna be an expensive Monday...
If SBCG4AP doesn't make a good showing on the sales lists I'm going to be disappointed.
Re: USA VC Releases: Star Parodier and Break In
@DEMON212: I agree.
So how exactly am I supposed to pronounce "Star Parodier"?
(well... i know how to pronounce 'star')
