Re: 'My Nintendo' App Icon Spotted, But Will It Come To The West?

Hyrule_Rainclouds

I also have this app on my phone for my Japanese Nintendo Account and have had it since at least 2020. It's a pretty nice app. It includes a nice activity log as stated above and even shows activity for 3DS and Wii U (I've had my NNID/My Nintendo Account a long time, I guess). Here's hoping they bring this app to other countries, though. Like I said, I've had it since 2020, so Japan has had it five years already.

I really hope Nintendo adds these apps to Nintendo Switch 2, though. I'd rather have all my Nintendo apps on an actual Nintendo system. It'll be nice if we can get an actual activity log on Switch 2 like on 3DS and Wii U, on-system voice chat and messaging, and maybe Nintendo Music.

The icon on my phone is the exact same icon as the one shown above.

Re: Capcom Announces New Digital Showcase Featuring Monster Hunter Stories And More

Hyrule_Rainclouds

@boxyguy Yes, I really hope they bring back all of the original Monster Hunter Stories amiibo! And release them outside of Japan for those who want them.

I did get Navirou back when it originally released plus Boy Rider (I wanted Girl Rider, though) and Qurupeco & Dan but missed the Barioth & Ayuria and the Rathian & Cheval ones because I waited too long and they got too expensive. I loved Ayuria and Cheval in the original MHS, would love to get another chance at their amiibo!

Re: Switch Online's Missions & Rewards Adds New Icons You Can Only "Get By Playing"

Hyrule_Rainclouds

This is kind of irritating. I purchased my digital copy of Animal Crossing: New Horizons (ACNH) on my main account and have all of the other ACNH icons released so far on that account. But I actually use my second account to play the game because that's the account associated with my Animal Crossing: New Leaf town that my New Leaf friends were linked to. So now I'll have to open the game with my main account to get the new icons? Dumb. They should just let you get the icons (for free even, no platinum points) if you own the associated game.

I really wish they offered an option to "purchase" all of the available icons at once if you have enough platinum points. For example, there was a "Get All" button option for each set of icons available. And they should make past icons available more often. I think I might have missed some Zelda ones, would like a chance to get those again.

Re: Nintendo Will Offer "Unique Propositions" To Overcome Challenges Of Platform Transitions

Hyrule_Rainclouds

It's interesting that so many websites latch onto this "unique propositions" phrasing when I think this is just normal Nintendo. In the original Japanese, Furukawa just says "ユニークな提案を続けていく" and "独創的な娯楽の提案を続けていく" just like they always do. Maybe I'm boring, but given the context here, I would just translate "提案" as idea. Essentially, "We're going to continue to offer unique ideas" and "We're going to continue to offer creative entertainment ideas."

提案 (teian) can be translated as proposal or suggestion or offer, like a project proposal you submit to your boss or a suggestion for the suggestion box. But I think he just meant ideas. I've seen comments where people thought this meant new subscription services or something like that, but I personally wouldn't read too much into it.

Re: Feature: Remembering The Newest Nintendo IP You'd Forgotten All About

Hyrule_Rainclouds

I love this game so much and wish it would get a sequel. Of course, I'd love for it to get a localization as well so more could play it. Such great characters and such a great story. Game play is somewhat minimal because of the genre/style, but there were a few sections with cool puzzles. There's a demo (in Japanese) available on the Japanese eShop. I didn't know it had been released in Korean and Chinese.

There have been five different Drama CDs released with original stories, all voiced by the original voice actors. It would be cool if they would make a new game based on those scenarios or at least make DLC for them for the existing game. Come on, Nintendo and Koei Tecmo!

Re: Feature: Nintendo Switch Ports We'd Love To See In 2024

Hyrule_Rainclouds

There are 8 mainline Zelda games not available on Switch in some form: Four Swords (GBA/3DS), The Wind Waker (GC/Wii U), Four Swords Adventures (GC), Twilight Princess (GC/Wii/Wii U), Phantom Hourglass (DS/Wii U VC), Spirit Tracks (DS/Wii U VC), A Link Between Worlds (3DS), and Tri Force Heroes (3DS).

I would love to see them all available on "Switch 2" in some form, but Four Swords Adventures is the only mainline Zelda game not available on 3DS, Wii U, and/or Switch. If any Zelda game needs a remake, that one gets my vote. A remake with single-player, 2-4 player local multiplayer on 1-4 Switches, and 2-4 player online multiplayer between 2-4 Switches would be amazing. Throw in Four Swords/Four Swords 25th Anniversary Edition, too, maybe even Tri Force Heroes since the 3DS multiplayer is shutting down.

Re: Talking Point: Does Zelda: Ocarina Of Time Need A Full Remake?

Hyrule_Rainclouds

I'm always a little sad when I see people push so hard for a remake of Ocarina of Time (OoT) or Twilight Princess (TP) when they've both gotten remakes and re-releases. Meanwhile, I'm over here still waiting for a Four Swords Adventures (FSA) re-release. It's the only mainline Zelda game that cannot be played on 3DS, Wii U, and/or Switch. It was the lowest-selling game and one of the most underrated, in my opinion. I think a re-release/remake/remaster would do a lot better.

This isn't directed towards anyone in particular, just from reading the poll results, but I can't understand the push for a re-imagining of an already great game. Just make a completely new game. As Anachronism said, Twilight Princess was already meant to be a re-imagining of OoT. I personally think it's disrespectful to the original development team and a little lazy to do a re-imagining of such a popular game. It comes across as if the new dev team can't come up with their own ideas and needs to piggyback off the name and legacy of an existing game. Especially with a series like the Legend of Zelda where there have been so many re-tellings and different iterations of the original legend and different iterations of Link, Princess Zelda, Ganon/Ganondorf, etc. Majora's Mask (MM) recycled a lot of the characters from OoT, as well. You could call it a re-imagining as well. But both TP and MM were treated as new games.

Re: Level-5's New Fantasy Life Game Has Been Delayed Until 2024

Hyrule_Rainclouds

This is one of my most anticipated games right now, but I'm actually OK with this and maybe even glad or at least relieved (already have a few other games I'd like to get/play right now). I'd much rather they take extra time to make the game better.

I've been playing the original 3DS game and still have a few things to finish up, and this will give me time to do that, too.

Re: Best Nintendo Switch Detective Games

Hyrule_Rainclouds

I love the Ace Attorney series including the Great Ace Attorney Chronicles and loved the two Famicom Detective Club remakes, too. There are a few other games on this list I own or have played. Guess I really like this genre, too.

One of my favorite games on Switch is Buddy Mission BOND, Japan-only unfortunately, which I think qualifies as a detective game. The gameplay is a little simple, but I love the story and characters. There were some drama CDs released which I bought that continue the story and the voice actors mentioned a sequel so I really hope there will be one!

Re: Reaction: What's Your Gut Feeling On The Zelda Movie News?

Hyrule_Rainclouds

The Legend of Zelda is my favorite video game series, and I actually really liked the Zelda cartoon from the 1980s/1990s plus the Captain N: The Game Master cartoon which sometimes featured Zelda and Link. But I have absolutely no interest in this movie and will be skipping it. I've never seen the new Mario Bros. movie, either.

If Nintendo really wants to expand into movies, I think they'd be better off opening/starting their own animation studio! The Pikmin shorts released for Wii U and 3DS were awesome, so well made. I've really loved the Super Smash Bros. reveal trailers as well. It would be awesome if they could create some shorts or even full anime series featuring other Nintendo characters and game series instead similar to the Smash reveal trailers. I'd much prefer something like that.

Re: Feature: So, Which Zelda Games Aren't On Switch Yet?

Hyrule_Rainclouds

I would love to see a remake of Four Swords Adventures. It's the only mainline Zelda game not available on 3DS, Wii U, and/or Switch. Add local multiplayer with one or more Switch consoles and online multiplayer with 2-4 people. Include Four Swords: Anniversary Edition as well with the same modes. They could even throw in Tri Force Heroes, which is a fun game if a little too challenging in single-player mode at least.

I long for the day when we can play all mainline Zelda games and many if not all spin-offs on a single Nintendo console, maybe the next one. It's my favorite series of all time.

Re: Nintendo Direct September 2023: Time, Where To Watch, Our Predictions

Hyrule_Rainclouds

@Dragonite89 @garfreek Even though Tsunku, the creator of the Rhythm Heaven games, did get sick (he had laryngeal cancer but underwent treatment and seems fine now, I think), it sounds like he really, really wants to make a new one for Nintendo Switch. He tweeted about it back in 2022, I think. Here's hoping!

@andyg1412 Oh my goodness! Someone actually mentioned The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Adventures (FSA)!! That would be my dream game remake!!! I've been waiting for a remake of FSA for years now. Would love to see it added to NSO someday at the very least. It would work great on Switch (or Switch 2). I'd love to see a multi-Link, multiplayer Link multipack with Four Swords Anniversary Edition, Four Swords Adventures, and Tri Force Heroes!

The Legend of Zelda is my favorite series of all time. FSA in my humble opinion is the most underrated game in the series, and it was the worst-selling, I believe. My dream is for there to someday be a Nintendo console where you can play every single mainline Zelda game and at least most of the spin-offs like Link's Crossbow Training and the Tingle games. Maybe someday!

Re: Video: How To Fully Prepare For The Legend Of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom

Hyrule_Rainclouds

My digital preorder for the Japanese version with voucher just got processed, at around 1:25 p.m. on May 5th, about an hour and a half later than I had expected. But the game is downloading now. Just a preload of course, I still have to wait for the game to unlock on May 12th!

My oldest brother bought me the vouchers and new ToTK Link amiibo and my other brother surprised me earlier this week with the special ToTK-themed OLED Switch! So kind of both of them. I'm a huge Legend of Zelda fan (my oldest brother is, too), and I can't wait for Tears of the Kingdom. It looks amazing!

Re: Video: How To Fully Prepare For The Legend Of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom

Hyrule_Rainclouds

@rjejr Digital preorders get processed 7 days before the game's launch date, so on May 5th for Tears of the Kingdom, usually at around noon that day, I think. So the game will get downloaded on May 5th and the game icon added to your Home screen. Switch does an Internet check when you select the game icon to see if the game is available so you have to do that before you can play on release day. But it should be downloaded. (By the way, congratulations to your child for graduation!)

The game should release digitally at midnight local time on release date, so midnight Eastern time in the U.S., 11 p.m. Central, 9 p.m. Pacific. Not sure about Europe. So excited! Just a bit longer now. It's going to be torture having the icon on my Home screen and not be able to play right away!!

Re: Random: Nintendo Shareholder Apparently Asked For A New F-Zero At General Meeting

Hyrule_Rainclouds

Shinya Takahashi mentions this in the above minutes from the meeting, but a few years ago, a shareholder asked if Nintendo had any plans to revive the "adventure game" genre (point-and-click adventure-type games/visual novel-type games), for example, with the Famicom Detective Club games. Nintendo (I think it was Miyamoto) replied that it was difficult because that genre doesn't sell well. But we got both the Famicom Detective Club remakes and Buddy Mission BOND, a brand-new (Japan-only, sadly) game in the genre funded by Nintendo and developed by Koei Tecmo, the following year. Shinya Takahashi in the above excerpt of the minutes said that Nintendo had already been planning the Famicom Detective Club remakes before the question was asked, but it shows they do sometimes listen!

Re: The Animal Crossing: New Horizons Direct Will Air On 15th October

Hyrule_Rainclouds

I've seen people voice concerns here and elsewhere that they'll talk about Pocket Camp in this Direct or there will be paid DLC. But Nintendo said in the September Nintendo Direct that this would be an Animal Crossing: New Horizons Direct for the FREE November update, so it will cover New Horizons and the update will be free. Now, that doesn't rule out a paid DLC expansion coming later, but the November update will be free.

Also, the description in Japanese for the official NicoNico Douga link (NicoNico Douga is a Japanese video-sharing site like YouTube) for the Direct says the AC: NH Direct will cover the upcoming (free) update scheduled for release in November. So, presumably, at least the majority of what will be shown will be in the November update. 20 minutes for one update is quite a lot.

Re: New Great Ace Attorney Story Trailer Is Nearly Six Minutes Of Spoilery Goodness

Hyrule_Rainclouds

I love these games so much! I played the original Japanese releases. They're kind of a packaged set, so a lot of people in Japan were upset with all the foreshadowing and loose ends left at the end of the first game. The second game ties things up pretty nicely but didn't come out until a while later so people were left hanging.

It's so much better going into these not spoiled, though, so I recommend not reading or watching too much! The second game has some pretty big moments. Can't wait to replay them, back to back this time.

Re: Don't Worry, Nintendo "Absolutely" Has Plans For Animal Crossing: New Horizons Going Forward

Hyrule_Rainclouds

@Maplemiles I loved New Leaf, it was my first game in the series. But I actually love New Horizons even more! I have put over 1200 hours into my island and have played every single day since launch, well over a year now, which is the only game I've ever done that with. If I hadn't gotten so busy the last few months, I'd probably have even more hours spent on it. I actually bought a Switch Lite a few weeks ago with a physical copy of New Horizons so I could start a second island!

Even though I still find tons to do, it would be awesome to have even more! And I do miss the mini games from New Leaf, the 3DS/Wii U ones and the Tortimer/Kapp'n Island ones.

Everyone has a right to an opinion. Some people don't like New Horizons as much. That's OK. Even though I absolutely love it, I would welcome the updates and additions people mention here and elsewhere. It would be great to get Brewster, the Roost cafe, and gyroids along with the summer island and mini games, new Nook's Cranny upgrades, new furniture and clothing, etc. Here's hoping we get a bigger update in July. The development team in Japan loves this game, I believe, and want it to be a great experience for everyone who plays it. I'm sure they have more planned.

Re: Don't Worry, Nintendo "Absolutely" Has Plans For Animal Crossing: New Horizons Going Forward

Hyrule_Rainclouds

@Teksetter Hey, no worries! I started with New Leaf, the previous entry in the series, so I'm a relative newcomer, too. I've since gone back and played the Game Cube one and Wild World on DS.

New Leaf got a huge Welcome amiibo update 3 or 4 years after launch that added a lot of new furniture items, tasks to do, etc. They added in-game 3DS and Wii U items, too. The 3DS item let you play a Panel de Pon/Puzzle League mini game and the Wii U item let you play Desert Island Escape from the Animal Crossing: Amiibo Festival board game on Wii U. You could even win prizes for playing those games like furniture, clothing items, etc.

The Game Cube game let you collect NES cartridges and play the full NES games in-game. I really wish they'd bring something like that back! Especially if they added prizes you could win like special wallpaper/flooring, furniture, clothing based on the NES game. Maybe they could add back in the NES games for NSO subscribers? A pinball mini game or fighting arcade game would be cool, too!

Re: Don't Worry, Nintendo "Absolutely" Has Plans For Animal Crossing: New Horizons Going Forward

Hyrule_Rainclouds

@Teksetter It would be so awesome to have a working arcade! That was one of my biggest wishes for the game before it came out. I'd love to see them bring back the Panel de Pon/Puzzle League and Desert Escape mini games you could play in New Leaf with the in-game 3DS and Wii U items.

I'd love to be able to play an Animal-Crossing-themed pinball game with the pinball machines or play a game of billiards/pool with my villagers or whatever. Maybe we'll get something like this in the series someday.

Re: Don't Worry, Nintendo "Absolutely" Has Plans For Animal Crossing: New Horizons Going Forward

Hyrule_Rainclouds

@Grumblevolcano I don't think you can use the Bug Off tournaments to determine when updates will come. The Bug Offs all take place each month in a four-month span, starting in June and ending in September for the Northern Hemisphere or starting in November and ending in February for the Southern Hemisphere.

The last seasonal item we have available now on the Nook Shopping tab is available in July (the Rodeo-Style Springy Ride-on item for the Cowboy Festival, available from July 15th through August 15th), so it would make a lot more sense for the next update to come in late July. I'm guessing they have to add the fireworks shows for August, too.

I understand some people's disappointments with the game, but this is the entry I've put the most time on by far. I've played every day since launch and still manage to find lots to do. It would be wonderful to have even more activities to do, shops, shop upgrades, furniture sets, characters, etc., of course, but some of us do love the game and do manage to find plenty of things to do. I don't consider it uncomplete or an "early-access game." And I find it unfair to compare it to earlier entries, especially when we're sure to get more updates and Nintendo never promised we'd get any of the things people expect.

Re: Soapbox: The Zelda: Breath of The Wild 2 Trailer Is Already Spawning Theories

Hyrule_Rainclouds

@Ludovsky I agree with you! That makes a lot of sense! I think you're right, and the "Sky Outfit" probably has special abilities that help Link as he traverses the sky between sky islands. Kind of like how the Climbing Gear Set or Zora Set or Snowquill Set, etc. give you special abilities in Breath of the Wild (BotW). Really looking forward to all the new items, clothing/gear sets, abilities, etc. I really like Sky Link's look, so I may end up wearing that outfit for most of the game. I usually wear the Snowquill set in BotW as that's my favorite.

I'm not sure what to say, whether there's time travel involved or you visit another dimension/world. It'll be interesting to see when we get the game. I hope we get underground areas as well, not just sky ones, and that scene with the dragon flamethrower makes me think we will. It'd be cool if we could explore underwater, too.

Bill Trinen, I think, from Nintendo of America, gave an interview saying they've decided on the subtitle for this game but don't want to announce it yet because they feel it's too spoilery. I was thinking it had the word "Time" in the title, but maybe it's "Sky" or "Triforce" or something else? Wonder what it'll be called.

Re: Famicom Detective Club Remake Producer Would Like To Make A New Game In The Series

Hyrule_Rainclouds

I would love to see a new game. I finished the second game a week or so ago and was a little sad the adventure was over. Really hope it continues somehow.

It would be great to see the Satellaview game get a remake, too!

Hope Buddy Mission BOND gets a localization someday as well. I played the Japanese version and absolutely loved it. The story and characters are fantastic, and the gameplay was pretty fun, too.

Re: Talking Point: What's That One Switch Game You Can't Bring Yourself To Delete?

Hyrule_Rainclouds

I don't like deleting games, but I have when I ran out of space. I have a 512GB card now, but it's already almost full. I'd like to get a 1TB card, but they're still a little bit too expensive.

I will never delete any Zelda game (my favorite series) or Animal Crossing: New Horizons, which I still play daily, though. No matter how much space I need. I'll also keep puzzle games like the Picross S games which I go back to often.

Re: Video: 11 Nintendo Themed Microgames We've Found In WarioWare: Get It Together!

Hyrule_Rainclouds

I love that they're including other Nintendo franchises. Can't wait to see what the gameplay will be like in each. It will be interesting to see how the different characters play, too. I hope we can still play all of the games even in 1 Player.

Would love to see Badge Arcade on Switch! And the Streetpass Mii Plaza games, which I really miss a lot. Too bad they couldn't have brought back Streetpass but modified it a bit for people who live in less populated areas. Maybe use Spotpass or have an online plaza? Which would probably require a Nintendo Switch Online (NSO) subscription, but still. It was my favorite feature on 3DS.

Re: Soapbox: The Zelda: Breath of The Wild 2 Trailer Is Already Spawning Theories

Hyrule_Rainclouds

I think Link's hairstyle just changes depending on what outfit he's wearing, just like in Breath of the Wild. His hairstyle often changed depending on what headpiece he was wearing. Compare how he looks wearing the Desert Voe Headband, Stealth Mask, or Snowquill Headdress or how his hair changes when he wears one of the Classic Link Caps (Cap of Twilight, Cap of Time, etc.).

Really love his new outfits! I wonder what other new abilities he'll get. It will be interesting to see what happens to Zelda, too.

Re: Don't Worry, Nintendo "Absolutely" Has Plans For Animal Crossing: New Horizons Going Forward

Hyrule_Rainclouds

@MetalKingShield YES! You are one of the only people I've seen who mentioned the dinosaur/fossil models! I would love to see those come back. I've had a full set of all 73 fossils in my inventory for months with they hope they'd be added back eventually.

I was thinking they could make it so once we'd finished the fossil wing of the museum, we could give sets of fossils to Blathers and he'd send them off to Cyrus or someone to get models made? Or they could add a new character.

I would love an observatory, too!

Re: It Appears This Mario Party Superstars Minigame Has Been Adapted For Accessibility

Hyrule_Rainclouds

This is awesome! I'm not colorblind, but it's great to see more options added to help potential players who are as well as players with other visual impairments.

I'm partially deaf and wish they'd add more visual prompts for things like fishing in Animal Crossing. It can be hard even for people with no impairments to hear and see things at times, and some people play with the sound off or whatever. We need more options like this, more controller options, too.

Re: Switch Error Code 2123-1502 - Users Still Waiting On Fix For Update 12.0.3 Issues

Hyrule_Rainclouds

I was actually able to start downloading the update for Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity! It's not finished yet so it could still mess up, but I haven't gotten the error yet. Fingers crossed this means they've got it working for everybody!

I first got the error back around the time Game Builder Garage become available for preloading, which preceded System Update 12.0.3. Nintendo hasn't released a new system update (12.0.4), I don't think? So it does seem like a problem on their end.

Good luck to everyone!

Re: New Zelda: Breath Of The Wild 2 Footage Shown, Aiming For A 2022 Switch Release

Hyrule_Rainclouds

Although I am disappointed in a way that there won't be a huge anniversary blowout for my favorite series of all time, I'm also glad in a way. That means that anything Zelda-themed they release probably won't be limited edition like the Mario 35th stuff was. I haven't seen anything saying the Skyward Sword joy-cons are limited, and I hope that means they plan to continue selling them.

I loved this trailer! I love Link's look and new outfits and the new elements. People have a right to complain, of course, but we've gotten just a few minutes total so I think it's way too soon to judge how good this game will be just based off two trailers. We didn't see much of BotW at first, either, and it ended up being great. I'm optimistic for this game, as well! Of course, I've absolutely loved every single mainline Zelda game and all of the spin-offs I've played, so I'm sure I'll love this one, too.

Really hope we do get underground areas to explore, too, though! And maybe some underwater areas?

Re: Switch Users Report Problem With Error 2123-1502 Following System Update Issues

Hyrule_Rainclouds

I commented about this on the other topic several times, but I'll post here, too. I'm one of the few(?) who started getting Error 2123-1502 last week, around Thursday, June 3rd, several days before System Update 12.0.3 even came out. It started when I tried downloading the Game Builder Garage digital preload.

I contacted two different branches of Nintendo Support about this issue on Sunday. None of the advice they offered helped. I was finally able to download and install System Update 12.0.3 using public Wi-Fi on Wednesday. The next morning, I was finally able to download the Game Builder Garage preload and a couple of game updates. But then I started getting Error 2123-1502 again and haven't been able to download anything since.

Nothing has worked for me. I've tried restarting my router and modem, restarting my Switch, powering down my Switch and turning it back on again, changing my DNS settings, resetting my Internet settings, etc. No matter how many times I choose "Continue" on the download screen, I keep getting the error and it fails to download. I haven't gotten the error on my brand new Switch Lite yet, though that could be a coincidence and I haven't downloaded much on it, either. Just thought I would share my experience again.

Re: Nintendo Resumes Distribution Of Switch System Update 12.0.3

Hyrule_Rainclouds

I was finally able to download Game Builder Garage and a couple of game updates this morning, but I've still gotten a couple of errors. Not sure what's going on. I was sleeping, so it's not like I made any changes during the night. Not sure if it helped, but yesterday, I set my DNS Primary to 1.1.1.3 and DNS Secondary to 1.0.0.3, from the Cloudflare servers instead of Google. And I left my Switch on while the game/updates were downloading.

It can't just be a problem on our end, not with this many people still having problems. I've been having issues since last week, long before System Update 12.0.3 even came out.

I hope they get things working perfectly before the E3 Direct next week! They usually have at least one or two shadow drops, I think? It would suck not being able to download a new game you wanted because of this.

Re: Nintendo Resumes Distribution Of Switch System Update 12.0.3

Hyrule_Rainclouds

@moodycat I am so sorry to hear you haven't gotten any help at all and are still having trouble. Even though I posted above that the problem was fixed for me, at least partly, I actually haven't been able to actually complete any downloads! I get the error and the download just hangs. Grr... But it at least improved a little bit for me. And you are absolutely correct--the problem isn't on our end, this is something Nintendo has to figure out. So many people having the same exact problem at the same exact time, just too coincidental for it to be anything else.

I actually ordered a Switch Lite last week, and it should arrive tomorrow. But I'm paranoid that I'll have the same exact problems with the new Lite. I'll still be using my regular Switch, too. I'm tempted to do a system transfer to the Lite, download everything there, then transfer back, but I don't know if that will even work.

Here's hoping we get some good news SOON!!! They really need to push out another system update, one that actually fixes the issue.

Re: Nintendo Resumes Distribution Of Switch System Update 12.0.3

Hyrule_Rainclouds

Sorry for the double post. Just wanted to say that it's not working perfectly for me yet. I can download updates again, but I let my Switch go into Sleep mode which stopped the download.

When I turned my Switch back on and tried restarting the download, I got Error 2123-1502 again. But I tried restarting the download again and it worked. Just seems like I have to leave my Switch on while it downloads. But at least it's something!

Re: Nintendo Resumes Distribution Of Switch System Update 12.0.3

Hyrule_Rainclouds

@moodycat Are you still having trouble? Sorry to hear that! Unfortunately, I am, too. I was finally able to install System Update 12.0.3, but that didn't fix it for me. I keep getting Error 2123-1502 again whenever I try to download anything. Nothing helps.

I contacted two different Nintendo branches to let them know I was still having problems. Here's hoping they're looking into it and they'll release yet another update ASAP that will fix it for us!

Re: Nintendo Resumes Distribution Of Switch System Update 12.0.3

Hyrule_Rainclouds

I was able to finally download System Update 12.0.3 using public Wi-Fi, but now I'm back to getting Error 2123-1502. It is not fixed for me, unfortunately. I can't download any game updates or new games. Oh well.

Just wanted to post in case others were still having trouble. You're not the only one! I've been getting this error whenever I try downloading a new game or game update since last week.

Re: Nintendo Resumes Distribution Of Switch System Update 12.0.3

Hyrule_Rainclouds

@moodycat It's really frustrating! I've been having problems since last week, so this system update was supposed to help people like me. Not only did it not help me, but it also messed things up for a lot of other people, it seems. At least you know you're not alone!!

I'm going to try restarting my modem and router later to see if that helps. If it doesn't, I'll be calling Nintendo, too. At least to let them know people are still having problems.

I ordered a Switch Lite which should come in tomorrow, but I'm afraid I won't be able to download anything for that, either. Sigh. Hope it gets fixed for everybody soon!!

Re: Nintendo Halts Distribution Of Switch System Update 12.0.3

Hyrule_Rainclouds

@Slowdive I've had trouble downloading games and game updates since at least last week, long before the Ver. 12.0.3 system update even came out. That's when I started getting Error 2123-1502. I think their eShop maintenance last week messed things up.

Maybe this system update started causing problems with downloading for more people? I wasn't able to download this latest system update, kept getting errors. Still can't download either new games or game updates. Hope they get it fixed for everybody soon.

Re: Nintendo Reveals The Top 15 Most-Downloaded Switch Games In May 2021 (Europe)

Hyrule_Rainclouds

I buy digital mostly because of the convenience. I like having all of my games (or most, at least) available all of the time. I have a lot of games, and it's nice not having to worry about a bunch of game carts.

Some years ago, I moved between continents and had to get rid of tons of stuff including a bunch of movie DVDs, books, game cases, etc. It really sucked. Digital can be more expensive at times, but it's worth it to me for the convenience and peace of mind knowing I don't have to worry about losing anything. I don't have much room to store stuff nowadays, either.

@Grumblevolcano Are you saying you can't update? Like the update isn't available for you? Because it's not available for me.

@MaxlRoseGNR Same for me. I've tried updating several times but it won't even recognize there's an update available. I went from getting Error 2123-1502 to now getting 2137-8056.

The update was available for me last night, but I couldn't get it to download, kept getting an error. I tried this morning, but now it says my system is up-to-date even though I'm still at Ver. 12.0.2.

Has anyone else been getting Error Code 2123-1502 when trying to download a game or update over the last several days? I can surf the eShop and even play games like Pacman 99 online but can't download a single thing.

I thought maybe it was just me but read on another site that others have been getting this error, too, and this system update may be a fix for it. Unfortunately, I can't download the system update, either. Oops.

Re: Story Of Seasons: Mobile Has Its First Trailer, And It Puts Pioneers Of Olive Town In The Shade

I don't know. I think it's really hard to tell from just one trailer. I wonder how much freedom there really is. Can players really walk from place to place and visit all those sites, or are those just scripted scenes?

I certainly wouldn't want to have to pay microtransactions to speed up harvesting of crops and things or buy extra items. I know Pioneers of Olive Town has a lot of issues, but I still enjoy it.

It's Japan-only for now at least, but I really enjoyed Buddy Mission BOND which came out for Switch earlier this year. The characters were great, and I really liked the story. A lot of the gameplay elements were pretty fun, too. Hoping they localize it someday and make a sequel.
