Re: Sega Teases New Track And Music For Team Sonic Racing

I’m excited about this. Aside from Sonic I’ve not played any other Sega games so quite a few of the courses/characters in the All Star Racing games meant nothing to me. I’m mostly looking forward to seeing what levels they choose for courses. As mediocre as Lost World was its be great to have a tubular level from there.

@Skalgrim I’m enjoying it. There’s quite a bit of depth to the combat but I haven’t really had to take advantage of that yet so hopefully the difficulty will ramp up. It’s still got plenty of original stuff as well as nostalgic content which is great. I’ve only played handheld and the resolution is noticeably lower than 720p but it doesn’t look as bad as Xenoblade 2, just a bit blurry.

@gcunit I’d start with watching Dragon Ball Kai it’s a trimmed down version of Z (which needed the trimming really) which has most of the Fighterz characters in. It’s slap bang in the middle of the continuity but it’s probably the best series to watch as an adult. The first series can get quite childish.
Alternately you could watch DBZ Abridged on YouTube. That’s a very trimmed down, comedic but fairly faithful unofficial version of Z.

Earthlock, I picked it up a few weeks ago in a sale and it’s pretty good! It feels like a game between FF9-10. It looks nice, has interesting combat (with actions mapped to buttons which makes things snappy for a turn based system) but the writing is kind of annoying. The characters are fun but there are a heck of a lot of made up words flying around to confuse things.

@sandman89 I dunno, I think Hollow Knight is fantastic for people who like that sort of thing. I’d say the great art style brought in people who wouldn’t ordinarily be interested but then art can only go so far in keeping people hooked. Personally, I enjoyed it a lot even though I don’t play metroidvanias often. It’s wilfully obtuse most of the time which I can see putting people off.

Re: Talking Point: It's September And We Still Don't Know Enough About Nintendo Online

I’m holding off, at least for a few months. I’m not interested in NES games and the current online setup is not up to par. I know it’s only a small statement to make but we vote with our wallets. If any new announcements make it more appealing then I will go for it but as it stands I’m not quite interested enough. It’s close though, even if the 10 unannounced games were SNES games that’d tip the scales for me ahah.
