If you love your physical Switch games, you might want to get ready for this next potential addition to your library. Worms W.M.D. is launching as a physical release today thanks to Super Rare Games.
Only 4,000 copies of the title will be going on sale, and pre-orders are set to open later today at the link below. You can already check out the game page to see exactly what you'll be getting, and the all-important pre-order button will go live at 6pm BST (so 7pm CEST / 10am PDT / 1pm EDT).
- Super Rare Games #6: Worms: W.M.D (Switch)

Each purchase includes a case with interior art, a four-page, full-colour manual, an exclusive sticker, and a three-card trading card pack, all for a price of £29.98.

If you haven't played this one yet and are hoping to find out more, feel free to check out our review. We enjoyed the game during our write-up last year, despite the odd niggle here or there, and gave it a solid 7/10:
"Worms W.M.D. is a good example of a game that can use its original, winning design format, spice things up with a whole bunch of new features, and still come out as an impressive title. The introduction of crafting weapons between rounds adds to the complexity of the strategy in a good way – the game can’t be picked up as instantly as games such as Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle, but with time and dedication, you’ll find a seriously rewarding tactical battle game."
It's hard to know the level of demand behind these physical releases, but the recent launch of Yooka-Laylee left many disappointed so we'd urge you to act fast.

Please, Earthlock by Snowcastle in Physical release by Super Rare Games / Limited Run Games.
See now, I would have bought this nearer the original release date, but now, got too many other games to play.
Also a 4 page manual? Isnt that just pointless
I have this on pre-order, as part of a triple pack including Mutant Mudds Collection and Snake Pass. Should be a fun time.
I recently got Human Fall Flat from Super Rare Games and it's pretty nice. It doesn't seem like Super Rare Games sell out terribly fast though, not compared to Limited Run Games.
Would this by the European version, so online only uses their servers? I am in the US so worried online matches be too flaky and play times wouldn't line up.
But they do not do any Collectors Editions unlike Limited Run.
That's why Human Fall Flat, Flame in the Flood and Mutant Mudds still have some left.
@Bunkerneath
Still seems odd to me, since these are in fact a finite number of games with a disclosed number, making them genuinely scarce items in the future.
@RupeeClock @Bunkerneath
I get what you're both saying here. Super Rare's boxed games are by themselves collectible in that they are rather limited. But they do not include any goodies that extend beyond the raw game data that you also get with a digital purchase.
@Pod Well, they do have a few trading cards included, but it's not much really. They're like Super Rare Games trading cards than "Licensed Game" trading cards.
Limited Run Games does similar, every game they print has their own one-off trading card.
@ryancraddock actually its not too late to get Yooka-Laylee! Only the collector’s edition sold out. The standard edition is a pre order until October 7th!!
A great game for local co-op but not much else.
Ok, GameFly, get on securing that physical copy for me.
I hope this brings new people in to play online. I don’t play it much but my partner does and she gets very frustrated with the lack of people online. If this was crossplay with PC I’d imagine it could have a populated online
@RupeeClock
Ah I see. I think his point was just that any expanded editions aren't available.
I am personally not a fan of "collector's editions". The manufacturer does not get to decide whether something will be valuable to collectors or not.
So while I can appreciate that some players enjoy the accompanying trinkets in these boxes, the game itself is more valuable to me, and much of the stuff included in modern day collector's editions seem rather forced to me, in regards to whether they expand the property in any meaningful way.
@TuxDC
They have a US version.
I would have bought this in a heartbeat if I hadn't already purchased it on the eshop.
I managed to snag two copies.. I think. One for myself and one for my cousin.
@kcook33 ok cool. I emailed them to ask about it but haven't heard back. Do you know if I have to select that somewhere or they just see your address is US?
@Medic_alert Same here, i felt instant regret after i bought it for switch, the controls feel just not right and i havent touched it for half a year or so.
I hate this trend so much.
@TuxDC I saw on the link you couls choose from 3 countries and US was there.
