2017 was a great year for the Switch. 2018 was rather dull (even with the nearing releases of Diablo 3, Pokemon, Smash Bros., Warframe and so on). 2019 already looks very promising and 2020 should be also a very good year. The worst year could be nearly over and then we will see.
Nintendo can and should only support one platform... but this platform could be integrated into several hardware systems (handheld, home console, hybrid system).
As a software developer I can assure that developing even simple software solutions often isn't as simple as it looks - and I'm not even talking about topics like testability, maintainability, scalability, code quality and so on. Especially if you want good solutions that can exist for some time - without making trouble all the time - you have to invest a lot more time and money as a lot of people think. Hacking down some code that more or less solves a problem doesn't take much time... but that isn't the real challenge if you want to make a good job.
@HG-Chris So why don't you publish demo versions of your games on the Nintendo eShop?
If you really think your games are good and the people just have to give them a try... so where are the demo versions then? It is not the customer who has to convince her- / himself to buy something. It is your job to convince the customer to take action and buy the game (keyword "AIDA model").
If customers don't like what you produced and you think they just have to give it a try then it is unfair that they should first pay for a product they possibly won't like only that you can live with their opinion. This would lead to a situation where at the end of the day you are the winner - because you made more money with games people didn't like from the beginning.
So don't ask them to pay for products they possibly won't like. Give them demo versions and if you are right then people are going to buy your games. If you are wrong people played your games and still didn't like them... then you have to live with it or change the way you lead your company (that is needless to say totally your decision).
Give us some 3rd party surprises and show us an advanced Switch OS (back up possibilities, virtual console, private messages, achievements or new online service features).
Nintendo knew exactly what they were doing by stopping the NES Mini production. As far as I believe the Nintendo Classics aren't there to make money, they are there to popularize their brands (quite similar to the smartphone and tablet apps which are first and foremost merchandise).
I just have one simple problem with Nintendos current move: All the Nintendo 3DS and 2DS devices are going to make it hard for casual gamers to come to a decision and actually buy one of them. Nintendo should drop one or two of the Nintendo 3DS / 2DS devices.

Re: Nintendo Switch Online Companion App Reaches Five Million Downloads
Download the app and give Nintendo feedback. You can at least try to help them make the app better.
Re: Nintendo Gives Terminal Cancer Patient The Chance To Play Smash Bros. Ultimate
Great story and I wish the poor boy all the best. At the end it still is a sad story but Nintendo at least tried to lighten it up a bit.
Re: Metal Gear Movie Director Shares His Ideas About A Potential Legend Of Zelda Film
Why does Link even have to be part of a possible Zelda movie?
Re: Talking Point: Should Nintendo Keep Releasing DLC For Mario Kart 8 Deluxe?
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is perfect. New tracks won't make it any better (new tracks will only feel fresh and cool for the first few weeks).
Nintendo should rather invest the money in other games franchises or develop Mario Kart 9 with brand new game mechanics.
Re: Devolver Digital’s Broforce Is “En Route” To The Nintendo Switch
@Cobalt Sadly that's true.

Re: Call Of Duty: Black Ops 4 Is Officially Announced, But There's No Switch Version
Okami HD and Crash Bandicoot have both been announced at a later stage as part of a Nintendo direct... this could also be the case for Call of Duty.
Re: This Zelda: Breath Of The Wild Linkle Mod Isn't Official, But It Really Should Be
@PlayedNSlayed I would find it cool as a gimmicky addition but nevertheless you are right that a new game would suit her better.
Re: This Zelda: Breath Of The Wild Linkle Mod Isn't Official, But It Really Should Be
Nintendo should add a free Linkle update to Breath of the Wild. She deserves it and it's International Women's Day.

...But Is It The Game That Zelda Enthusiasts Expected?
I loved Breath of the Wild. The last Zelda game that got me like Breath of the Wild was Ocarina of Time... nearly 20 years ago.
