Re: Inflated Prices and Limited Stock Cause Frustration with the Wii U's GameCube Controller Adapter

FubumblR

As much as I love the gamecube controller and all its awesomeness, I've got to say the Pro controller is slightly better.

But I do feel bad for those having to wait to get their hands on their preferred controller input.

However, I will say that people should learn to use a proper forum for venting their frustration; a product's reviews and ratings board should be reserved for, oh I dunno, reviewing and rating the actual physical product...?...not the sideshow hokum that are the inevitable products of botched supply and demand.

Re: Peculiar Outfits and Details Revealed for Twilight Princess Hyrule Warriors DLC

FubumblR

Wow, it all looks pretty sweet to me! But I've barely even touched the last DLC adventure map, looks like I'll have plenty to do when I finally decide to start catching up!

It's also kinda unfair Postman Link doesn't get a bigger bulge when pretty much all the women are these busty babes. Someone needs to teach him that wadded up sock in the crotch trick...

...or maybe this is why Link has the sole right to wield the Master Sword...compensating... ;P

Re: Mario Kart 8 Software Update and DLC Available Now

FubumblR

Loving this DLC! There really isn't a bad course in the pack, though, I'd say the weakest is Dragon Driftway, but mainly because the viewing angle makes it hard to see what's coming ahead sometimes. I am enjoying Ice Ice Outpost's awesome shortcuts.

Maybe it's my imagination but the VR win/loss ratio seems to have been adjusted a bit again, for the better. Just noticed that coming in 1st gets you more points and last doesn't penalize you as severely. Maybe I'll actually start gaining VR again instead of hovering around the same level as has been my fate since the previous update. Here's to hoping!

Re: Eiji Aonuma Confirms Majora's Mask 3D Has Been In Development Since 2011

FubumblR

While he's saying the core essence and tone of this game will remain the same, I just hope that these changes to smooth out the gameplay don't take away from the experience.

Granted, there's always room to improve with any game post-launch, but I don't remember MM being that difficult and actually loved how it was one of the first Zelda games that actually stumped me at times.

I guess some of the minigames could use some tweaking, and mayhaps the controls for rolling around as a Goron, as well as tweaking the controls in general.

Oh, and here's to hoping they add to the Bomber's notebook quests, and, a Master Quest type playthrough would be welcome.

Re: Review: Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance (Wii U eShop / Game Boy Advance)

FubumblR

While I recently downloaded this and haven't finished it yet, I was pleasantly surprised by this game, as I'd heard some negative things about it; this is my first time playing it.

There are only a few things I'd knock it for:
-bosses seem easier with not very complicated movesets
-there don't seem to any breakable walls/ceilings/floors to reveal secret items/rooms/paths (other than those few special walls/barriers that require a whip upgrade to break, but those don't count, imo).

Otherwise a great entry in that Metroidvania style!

Re: Video: We Tackle the Legendary Hyrule Warriors "Master Quest Pack" DLC

FubumblR

@rjejr Yeah, I def. feel your pain with the item selection. Though, personally I'd rather give up the Boomerang and then they could use another one of the items to help you deal with Manhandla.

It shouldn't be this way (but you do what you have to given your options) and I've mastered the art of reaching my right hand over to the d-pad to swap items while still keeping my character in constant motion with the left thumb stick. This is using the pro controller mind you, as it's my preferred.

I also wish they would've done more with info display options on the Gamepad. Seriously, I'd much prefer having a larger map displayed on it or like the ability to toggle between enemies and allies on it.

The apothecary isn't so much an issue to me as when you go and select which mixture to craft it lists every material you have in stock.

I just wish you could hold more than 10 of each weapon type in your inventory, granted this is probably to force you to strategically keep the more slotted, rarer skilled, and higher starred ones, but, sometimes you just want to keep all of them and can't.

Oh, and why can't you just sell a weapon at any time instead of having to wait until you've reached the 10 max? Oy.

These are all small niggling issues for me, but I still love this game to death. Hopefully some of these things will be fixed in future updates.

Everyone just needs to buy this game!

Re: Video: How Hyrule Warriors Forges A Link With Zelda's Past

FubumblR

Been loving this game to death. Can't wait until the DLC arrives. Somehow this game has pushed Smash into the background for me. I've played Smash occasionally on the go, but even then Curtain Call is mostly what's played on the 3DS these days.

Something must be wrong with me...I was super excited for Smash, but then I played Hyrule Warriors...lol.

Re: Wii U System Update 5.2.0 Brings Folders, New UI Design and More

FubumblR

Maybe this isn't new, but did anyone notice that after closing software the setup of your TV/Gamepad screens prior to launching a game is now remembered by the system? If you had Wara Wara on the Gamepad display and the games menu on the TV I'm pretty sure it always defaulted back to the reverse after closing a game.

Thank you Nintendo, this was something I didn't even know I wanted, a very nice touch!

Re: Video: This Hyrule Warriors Launch Trailer Aims to be Legendary

FubumblR

While I've been super hyped to get this, I really don't know if I'm $60 hyped, ya know? Will probably just wait until the inevitable first price drop, and work on my backlog instead...

...and well...Smash.

**edit**
Looks like I caved and went and bought it anyway. Can't wait to pop this in later! Nintendo, why do you love my wallet so much?

Re: SEGA Announces Sand-Based Arcade Game, Probably Not Coming to Wii U

FubumblR

Perhaps Japanese children are much more well behaved, or they expect parents to always be paying close attention?

Just saying, any kid I've ever seen playing in a sandbox; the sand to them is not necessarily meant to stay IN the sandbox.

I just see awful mess potential all through the arcade zone. Unless they addressed this issue in the video, but, it's Japanese to me.

Re: NES-Themed Nintendo 3DS XL On The Way as GameStop Exclusive

FubumblR

So basically, most of the people who will buy the NES skin will be collectors, can't see it being a huge seller with the new ones coming out next year.

The inside looks pretty stellar, but it's kinda overshadowed by the clunkiness of the exterior. In comparison with the NES GBA SP way back, the exterior looks turrrrible.

Re: Feature: The Nintendo 64 Controller and the Rise of 3D Gaming

FubumblR

@Kirk @ungibbed Yeah, I am sorry, wires apparently did cross, so many apologies! please understand.

And yes, I was just stating a fact that it was just more comfortable for my hands to hold it that way, versus your way. Also, for me, it have better grip. When I tried the other other I often lost grip because it felt there wasn't much to hold on to. I'm not criticizing your method, just stating what worked best for me.

And yes, the nunchucks...way too small.

Also, the girls (actually guys) do like em!

Re: Feature: The Nintendo 64 Controller and the Rise of 3D Gaming

FubumblR

@ungibbed @Kirk

Just saying, for people with larger hands and longer fingers, it's just unwieldy, uncomfortable, and awkward to hold that controller the way you suggest. Whenever I tried it that way it just hindered my gameplay rather than helped it.

Might want to step down from that high horse; no one's play style is the same. Doesn't make someone an "idiot, noob, or casual." Just step off, yo! ;P

Re: Feature: The Nintendo 64 Controller and the Rise of 3D Gaming

FubumblR

@Kirk

For me the best way to hold the thing was with left and right hands holding their corresponding prongs. No matter what directional input I was using.

Whenever I tried holding the center prong with the left hand my thumb always felt too tightly bunched up against the analog and I could never get the accuracy of control had my left hand been holding the left prong.

I dunno, I was in high school at the time I finally got one so my hands were larger...might've been why I held it that way.

Re: Reaction: Picking Apart The New Nintendo 3DS And New 3DS XL

FubumblR

Wow, I'm really glad I've held off upgrading from my original aqua blue 3DS as I knew there'd be some significant hardware upgrade released at some point.

Glad to see my keen foresight has paid off, totally getting this when it releases in NA.

I had been severely tempted to upgrade to an XL as of late, looks like that decision's been made for me...thanks Ninty! ;P

Re: Mario Kart 8 DLC Coming In November, Features Zelda, F-Zero And Animal Crossing

FubumblR

C'mon people, it's not like there's never been a crossover between Nintendo games before.

'TLoZ: Link's Awakening' is one example.

I for one am looking forward to expanding an already complete game as it stands right now with fun add-on bonuses.

I just hope they reskin the boomerang item for Link to a Zelda themed boomerang. Oh, and can you imagine Link throwing a volley of Cuccos instead of fireballs?! Yes!

Please, Nintendo, add different items based off the new characters!

Re: Super Mario Kart Speeds Onto the North American Wii U eShop

FubumblR

@MoonKnight7

Indeed you are right, my friend!

And to truly appreciate what a franchise has become you must first experience its roots!

I also enjoy 8's use of various tracks as the battle stages, but nothing really compared to having fun with your friends in SMK's battle mode back in the day. There was something quite visceral and impactful when dealing out the shells in SMK, and I for one am looking forward to reliving those moments.

Re: Super Mario Kart Speeds Onto the North American Wii U eShop

FubumblR

@GreatPlayer @MoonKnight7

Well, I for one thought it was funny, but the whole interchange is even funnier!

However, I for one am glad they've released SMK as I never bought it on Wii.

And, to be quite honest, for me it'll be a nice alternative to playing MK8. I've...played 8 so much it's started to reach that "I'm bored after a few races" stage for me.

Now, Nintendo, where's MK64 and MK:DD for my WiiU VC...hmmmmm?!
