Not so long ago Masahiro Sakurai provided an update on his plans to continue his Pic of the Day posts for Super Smash Bros. on Wii U and Nintendo 3DS. For those of us that enjoy keeping up with the game designer's posts that was good news, with updates promised at that point until the arrival of the home console iteration.
Sakurai-san has now provided another update on his plans, though he kicks off with a hearty congratulations to gamers in the West now getting their hands on the portable release.
Attention in these posts will hopefully shift to the Wii U version now, especially as we still know relatively little about unique modes and features included in the upcoming release. In any case we're in the final stretch of Sakurai-san's Miiverse posts, so we should make the most of them.

I'm not sure to get it (english is not my main). What does he means by : for now they'll only trickle down a little bit at a time.?
We need a general Nintendo Direct to explore the benefits of Amiibo, the unique modes on Wii U (I'm still expecting asymmetric boss fight multiplayer) and updates on everything beyond Bayo and Toad. Surely a general direct is round the corner?
@ xj220_afiles
He will gradually announce more details at a slow pace.
You waited. You waited long. You waited longer. THEN YOU WAITED EVEN LONGER. And then Smash came. Only played for 30 minutes, it is truly amazing.
Today's the day! YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEES!!!!!!!!!!!
@AJWolfTill
Yeah I'm longing for a Direct.
Get a copy today hopefully. I really want to play this game.
Got my copy yesterday and it's truly amazing!
@xj220_afiles I assume he means for us to not expect as much posts as usual from now on
I had the same reaction - if he says he'll be done by the end of the year Wii U version should be out be the end of the year. Of course end if the year isnt Nov 21, seems like its already too late for that date to be announced. Hopefully Im wrong though.
@BensonUii @AJWolfTill - I started a Forum post yesterday about all the Wii U info we still need, mostly amiibo and SSB U like this article says, so yeah, we need the next ND. Pronto I think.

@rjejr wasn't November 21 already confirmed to be the release date?
Good for you guys! I'll be waiting for the U version
@xj220_afiles
What I get from the quote is that the hidden elements of the game will be shown once in a while on his pics, probably to give us time to get the game
who knows,he might reveal SOMETHING ELSE in these posts...
So here's hoping most new pics will be of the Wiiu version. Well I think next week would be a good time for Nintendo to ramp up the marketing for the Wiiu version...unless they are going to wait til November.
Which would be weird.
I hope he does a trailer for the Duck Hunt dog anyway. That would be too awesome.
@xj220_afiles
Yeah, they will come far apart and slowly, just as water drops would come from a slow leak from a faucet.
@Darel18 - "confirmed" Well, not exactly, Nintneod of France had it as a date which the quickly said was a mistake, and retailer Meyer has a pre-order card but those are always printed out well in advance. I'm using a Target pre-order card today to buy SSB for 3DS and it says releasing "summer 2014" on it. Where I live summer ended weeks ago.
So rumours and leaks yes, confirmation, no.
GOT MY COPY
Nintendo Master Race.
@ThomasBW84 Wario,Ness, and Falco pics are on the website
Dont know if somebody else posted this already, but the presentations of 3 secret characters (all veterans) are now available, revealing a returning stage for the Wii U
Edit: Greninja'd
@drewb0203 I was loveing disappointed the day he announced the speed
which later on wasn't even the biggest disappointment in the game

I’ve created a friend code exchange page for SSB3DS. Come and share your friend code to meet new friends and brawl it out on Super Smash for 3DS! http://goo.gl/cz0TkU
@xj220_afiles
I don't know what languages support the full game, but at least the demo had Spanish as an option (even the narrator was in Spanish).
YUS!
