I can see his point. I could see Nintendo dropping out of the console business after Miyamoto and Iwata leave. If they do team up with anyone, I think Stuffgamer1 is right, Nintendo would probably work better with Sony than Microsoft or Apple.

@TheDreamingHawk Nintendo have bought the Project zero/Fatal frame IP so all entries in the series will be published by Nintendo so it is up to Nintendo if they're localised.

I agree with @darkgamer001 and @madgear. I wonder if some users like @Twilightpoint and BenAV would be saying the same things if their region was the one that didn't have these games.

I was already interested in this game but after seeing this epic trailer, I'm really looking forward to it. Since its Square-enix, I don't think we have to worry about whether it will get a western release or not. They rarely keep their games Japan-only these days.

How did so many people miss the caption for the image? Its not a new transparent 3DS, its just a 3DS XL that has been stripped apart.

I had a feeling they wouldn't explain the coin hunting aspect of the game. It seems like they just through in the coin hunting to make it seem like a less lazy game.

I'll stick to using Nintendo's download services for VC games and 'ware games. I like having the boxes and discs/cartridges so I'll never download retail games.

@RR529 The only other Wario land where you have to race back to the start is The shake dimension on Wii.

I hope Petit computer gets released in Europe at some point and I think Kid Icarus: Of myths and monsters should have been the featured game, not Tumble pop.

Good first review Katy. I know people say that these games can be enjoyed on their own but I'd rather wait 'till I've got a console that can play other entries in the series to fully understand the story. I'd want to play the first one before Chain of memories and 358/2 days and I'd want to play the second one before Re:Coded and this one and I might get a PS2 at some point. Getting a PSP seems less likely so if I do get a PS2, I might just play through the series without BBS unless it gets ported/remade.
@L4DYB4nSH33 Wow, I'm surprised you like this series after seeing your complaints about FF and Tales of while praising DQ as this series doesn't have the basic stories that DQ has. The stories in this series seem to have more similarities with FF and Tales of than DQ.

I was hoping this would be UFO's first good game as the presentation does look awesome so despite how likely it was that this would be bad because of its developers, I still felt disappointed even though I should have expected this.

The page for it on NoE's site says that the publisher is CK games, not Nintendo. I hope that's right as this game looks like shovelware.

That was weird and pretty creepy too but it will be interesting to see how it plays.

@A-Hungry-Banker So do I, at least there was the level at 0:09 which doesn't look as similar to levels from previous games in the series as the others do.

I'll get Wario land 2 at some point but I hope they start releasing virtual boy games on 3DS vc at some point, I would rather get that before WL2 as that came out before it.

I almost always have 3D on max. I only don't if I'm playing a DS or DSiware game or if the game I'm playing has bad 3D.

It looks like it might have more varied and interesting levels than it first seemed and its nice to see the mega mushroom return but I'm still not planning on getting it for a while. I'm not pleased about seeing the mini mushroom return. I hated that level in world 4 of NSMB where you needed a mini mushroom to clear it as it was pretty hard so I had to keep going back to mushroom houses and hope that I would get a mini mushroom.

This is such a rip-off considering how cheap it is elsewhere. Its even more of a rip-off than Skylanders!

This was so funny, especially the "does 3DS cause cancer?" question, that was hilarious.

@Tsuchinoko A company called Gamebridge have bought various Japnese DSiware games over to the west under the GO series name. Most games in the series a quirky budget Japanese games and they're mostly 200 points but there have been a few 500 point ones. Some of the games in the series were developed by Tom Create and since this is too, its likely to be published by Gamebridge as part of the GO series in the west if they continue the series on 3DSware.

I wonder how well it will sell. The time of its release seems pretty risky as the Wii U is likely to be out by the 23rd November.

I don't normally buy tennis games but this actually looks like a lot of fun so i might buy this if/when it comes to Europe.

@Tsuchinoko Probably because this is likely to become part of the GO series in the west as its by Tom create.
GO series: Undead storm didn't look interesting to me but this looks really good so I hope this does get released in the west.

@James How can you say that? SSBB is the best game on the Wii!

I'm fine with my original 3DS, I prefer the design and it fits in my pocket. The 3DS XL might be able to fit in my jacket pocket but I doubt it would fit in my jean pockets so that would mean that I couldn't take it with me if its too hot for a jacket. I prefer smaller handhelds anyway.

@aaronsullivan Thank you for the advice! I'll have a think about what you said. I have wondered if maybe storytelling is my passion but most of my ideas seem like they would be well fit better as a story line for a videogame rather than a novel. I guess some of them might work as a graphic novel or manga book but I can't draw to save my life. Also, this may seem like a stupid question but when you say board games, word games and verbal games you play in cars, do you mean videogame versions of those?

I'd love to see ToS and/or TotA represented in it. On the website that this thread linked to, I nominated 4 characters from Symphonia and 4 from Abyss even though there will probably only be one Tales of character in it if there are any but the ones I nominated were Lloyd, Kratos, Sheena and Genis from ToS and Luke, Tear, Guy and Jade from TotA. Then again, Genis might not work that well in smash bros.

This worries me. I've thought about being a game designer and I've spent much more time thinking about the stories and characters of my game ideas than the gameplay.

@Aviator Even at budget price, it would still probably be £20 which is ripping people off when you can get it for much less on other devices.

I'm quite behind with Ask James but the ones I have seen were good and it was great to have you as a part of the community as not all sites have staff members that are as involved with the community as the staff on this site is. I completely agree with erv's first sentence. While graphics are important, you don't need advanced, HD graphics to be immersed in a game and it annoys me when people act as though you do. Gameplay and sound are more important in immersing someone into a game.

Wow, I didn't know it was coming out so soon in Japan. They've certainly been keeping quiet on the details of this game, unless I've just missed a lot of them.This game does look interesting but I still don't know anything about the gameplay, does anyone know what sort of game this is?

It looks like a fun game but I'd want to play at least most of the games represented in it before getting it.
About this debate on the best 3DS game, it seems that most of you haven't had the pleasure of experiencing the astounding Tales of the Abyss. That is easily the best game on the system as well as the best game ever!

A coach that time travels through rainbow portals that's driven by a teddy bear, this series seems to be getting more insane with each installment. The special moves seem to be getting more over the top with each installment too.

99 seconds looks pretty good, I'll probably get that at some point.

@black-kyuerem There are actually quite a lot of good DSiware games, we're just getting less good games on the service now. Probably because 3DSware is taking over. Some examples of good games on the service are Mario VS. Donkey Kong: Minis march again, Reflect missile, Mighty flip champs, Little Red riding Hood's zombie bbq, Go series: 10 second run etc.

@Linkstrikesback I haven't heard anything of a mission mode so they may have removed that but they've added new endings. I haven't got the game yet so I'm not completely sure on the mission mode being removed or not.

Making this a pre-installed app would be a good idea and it would be cool to see what developers do with this. It could lead to some really interesting experiences.

@ChunkyDroid Yes, the DS entry in the series was called Rhythm paradise here.
Project zero 2 and Spirit camera came out last week.
I think the Beat the beat: Rhythm paradise is a stupid name, they should have just taken the American name and replaced heaven with paradise. Anyway, I didn't enjoy its DS predecessor as much as some did and I'm not that good at rhythm action games but I may get it after a price drop. I'm glad there's the option for Japanese voices though, the Japanese voices in the Ring side mini-game sound so much better than the English ones.

The graphics really do look lovely but I'm not sure if its a game for me yet.
