Watch any of the pundits on CNN talking and they are always quick to mention 'Trump won the electoral votes but Hillary won the popular vote', even though it's like 47.7 for her and 47.6 for him. It's sad, really.
I'm not worried about Trump. He was putting on an act to get votes, and now he's in charge and can mellow out. He's going to be surrounded by a team of veteran politicians and advisors who will make sure things are under control. There will be no wall. There will be no mass bannings of immigrants. It was all a lot of bluster to counter the message being spread by Clinton.
They don't have anything else to write about and need to do something to keep the site running. That's why they are (supposedly) going to post mini-reviews of all the 30 year old games on the NES Mini, as if that's really necessary or anyone cares. It can't be fun working at NintendoLife right now, and they are praying for the Switch to be released asap!
She's 'winning' the popular vote by like .1 or .2. It's embarrassing that people are clinging to that like its something to celebrate.
I have to give you props though. When I was watching the election results on the BBC they ran your username along the ticker at the bottom of the the screen and thanked you giving them a heads up regarding the popular vote.
"made a claim (the GameCube's third party video game library was mediocre), and you attempted to rebut the claim. I am not convinced of your rebuttal."
Look at the Wikipedia listing of third-party games (especially major franchises from EA, Activision, Ubisoft, etc) released on the GameCube in comparison to those available on the Wii and Wii U. The GameCube had a better overall library of third-party titles than either of those systems.
I made the point that the GameCube had 'better than mediocre' third-party support, and that it was the last Nintendo home console to do so.
You for some reason spun that into me believing that the GameCube sold well (it didnt and I never said it did) and then stating the PS2 had better third-party support (I never argued that it didn't, because it did, nor did I bring up the PS2).
It's not a 'petty insult' when I said you can't read, because all the things you were arguing with me about were things I didn't even say.
If you want to rebut my argument, explain to me how the Wii and Wii U had better 3rd party support than the GameCube. Because that's the only thing I stated.
Not one of us said the GameCube had a better third-party library than the PS2, because it didn't. I said it was the last Nintendo home console with better than average third-party support.
No one is saying the GameCube wasn't a commercial failure. We were only stating that it had better than average third party support (at least for a Nintendo console that was not the NES or SNES).
And thanks for clearing up the fact that the disc-based GC wasn't compatible with N64 cartridges.
GameCube had several MK games, Burnouts, and a MGS game. Along with other major games like Call of Duty, Medal of Honor, and various EA sports titles released annually. And all the Resident Evil games.
I bought a GameCube the day it came out and probably owned 25-30 games during its lifespan.
You can nitpick and say 'it didn't get this game!' (You can do that to every system) but overall it had excellent third party offerings, and was the last Nintendo home console to do so. And to be honest, the only game it didn't get which I wished it did was GTA3.
Other than missing out on Grand Theft Auto, some Final Fantasy games and stuff like that, the GameCube had excellent third-party support. It was the last Nintendo home console I owned where I felt I wasn't really missing out on a ton of other games.
Google "Raspberry Pi 3 retropie" because that is what you want. Takes like 15 mins to set up, and you can play literally every game ever released for any console from the late 70's right up to the mid-90's.
I've got two of them with usb controllers or adaptors that let me use SNES, NES, Genesis and PS2 controllers.
You are guaranteed to hear only positive answers when you ask a bunch of independent game developers who are either currently working on games for Nintendo, or would like to in the future, to publicly give their opinion on new hardware.
It's like going to a Hillary Clinton rally and asking people in the crowd to give their opinions on Donald Trump. You know what you are going to hear before you even ask.
That's why I take this information with a grain of salt. It doesn't really mean anything. And we don't even really learn anything.
Nah, actually it's called critical thinking. I'm taking into consideration the potential personal biases of the people answering the questions. It's a very basic concept when considering where certain facts/information is coming from.
Not staying these guys are lying, but an anonymous survey would be the way to go to get a more 'open' analysis.
No developer in their right mind (especially indie guys) would ever throw Nintendo under the bus on a questionnaire like this.
Hahaha exactly! What a pointless fluff piece. If these guys had negative opinions they would never share them as to not hurt their chances at working with Nintendo in the future.
I haven't even read a single link you've posted as I don't even care about this discussion. I've just been sending you on pointless 'fact' finding quests for my own amusement. Glad I could keep you busy! 😂
Data from 2012? When the PS3/Wii/360 each sold close to or over 100 million units each?
How could that reasonably compare to 2015 data when the PS4/Xbox/Wii-U had only sold 10-30 million units each by that point in time?
What is the correlation you are trying to make? Can you elaborate in your own words, rather than just making vague 'check the factual articles!' responses?
And where is this other data you are comparing? Links please?
Thanks bro. It's not all the time that we here get an opportunity to hear from a highly educated man such as yourself!
You keep throwing around the words 'fact' and 'factual article' in regards to a single survey's results.
A 'fact' is that the sun is hot.
The results of a survey using a small group of people does not produce 'facts'. It mearly produces a sample. The results (or as you refer to them, 'facts') could be wildly different each time if the survey was repeated using different people.
No one is saying the games don't exist in some form. The article is just pointing out that none of the game footage shown was actually running on Switch, and it's not representative of what those games will necessarily run/look like on the hardware.
Everything is a 'gimmick' until it catches on, and then it becomes normal. Touch screens were gimmicks, flat phones were gimmicks, power windows in cars were at one time a gimmick....
I wasn't arguing anything, just pointing out the fact you didn't seem to understand the meaning of the word, that's all!

I don't know what you are talking about. Maybe you replied to the wrong person?
We were responding to a guy who said GameCube didn't have third party support.
None of the people (myself included) you were replying to made any claims that the GameCube was a financial or commercial success. It wasn't.
Yet you keep writing posts explaining how it sucked sales wise, which I and many other people will readily admit. No one is arguing against that.

Yup.
There will literally be no way for someone to get another gamepad in the future since they were never sold individually.

I wonder what happens 10+ years from now if someone breaks their gamepad or it stops working?
It was never sold separately, and I can't imagine third party companies picking up the mantle and producing their own versions.

When that's the case, usually it says 'actual game footage' on the screen, or 'in-game footage'.
This trailer contained neither, and it would be foolish to believe it was.

Here's the dictionary definition of a gimmick...
"an ingenious or novel device, scheme, or stratagem, especially one designed to attract attention or increase appeal."
It's not automatically a negative term. The console/hybrid concept of the Switch is a gimmick.
Don't get so butt hurt.
