@Wiiloveit Haha, well, I don't really. I just sorta decide which games I'm gonna do a write up for and then just write what ever comes to me. But I must admit, after this last week I was like "Would you look at that giant wall of text? Who in their right mind would have the patience to read all that crap? I should really work on making them shorter". So yeah, I do agree, that was a bit extreme.
Actually, Strong Bad 2 charted for a total of 7 weeks while the third game is already on its way out after only 4. So I'd say they are performing as one can expect which is each version doing a little worse than the previous.
The most important charts of anything ever arrives again. Here's the Swedish Wiiware chart of November 19th 2008! I demand you to rejoice!
Actually there's alot of movement for you to ponder upon. The Swedish chart stands as follows:
(1) 1 - Mega Man 9
(2) 2 - Tetris Party
(8) 3 - Brain Challenge
(3) 4 - My Aquarium
(14) 5 - Space Invaders Get Even
(13) 6 - Alien Crush Returns
(10) 7 - Defend Your Castle
(4) 8 - Bomberman Blast
(7) 9 - LostWinds
(11) 10 - TV Show King
(9) 11 - Wild Wild West
(16) 12 - Midnight Pool
(6) 13 - Midnight Bowling
(5) 14 - Helix
(12) 15 - The Incredible Maze
(17) 16 - Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life As A King
(15) 17 - Cocoto Fishing Master
(19) 18 - My Pokémon Ranch
(18) 19 - Dr. Mario & Germ Buster
(-) 20 - SPOGS Racing
Notable action of the week:
-In a very active chart, only 2(?!) games remained in last week's position. Yes, indeed, nothing happened in the top of the charts. Mega Man 9 is still reigning supreme here in Sweden and Tetris Party is still fighting on in 2nd. Where is MM9 in the UK charts? 16th? Alright then...
-A 5 spot leap is usually enough to become the big climber... This week, not so much... But 3rd is still impressive for last week's newcomer Brain Challenge. I predict this will be one that we won't get rid of lightly.
-Instead, we find this week's climber in 5th. Space Invaders Get Even climbs a massive 9 spots from 14th! Not sure why these 2 extra days benefited the game this much but it did and now it's 5th. It's a thing!
-In 6th we find another big climber which would have been the climber ofg the week pretty much any other week, but none the less, Alien Crush Returns 7 spot jump is still very impressive. Guess this old video game pinball nation finally started to appreciate their legacy. And I'm full of ... Moving on...
-There's so much happening! Defend Your Castle climbs 3 to 7th which any other week would be a big deal. This week however it was just dwarfed by all the other big things happening.
-I'm actually more surprised by this one. Bomberman Blast drops 4 to 8th. I was sure that Bomberman would hold it together but it seems the end is nigh. Guess it has something to do with it being a more well known entity than for example TV Show King and thus it reaches a high attachment rate and market saturation quicker than that game. Although that can't explain why Mega Man is still hanging around, doesn't every single Wii owner in Sweden own that one already?
-Which all this movement this week I'll just leap over the 2 spot movers in one giant leap and arrive at another erratic climber. Why exactly did Midnight Pool climb 4 spots all of a sudden? Past it's fairly younger sibling even? I don't know, but it did and it is in 12th. Good going there.
-Cause its sibling did not perform as stellarly. I predicted it to freefall quite a few weeks ago. Well, after a few weeks of resisting gravity, Midnight Bowling finally delivered on MY promise. It fell a huge 7 spots to 13th. However...
-It seems kinda like Helix observed the giant prat fall of The Incredible Maze last week and scoffed "No little pebble shall out maneuver me! I'm all about movement and I shall show it how its done!" and then fell an astounding 9 spots(?!). Not only does this fall award Helix the biggest faller of the week, but it sets a new record when it comes to huge drops. While I guess it had it coming, it's been overperforming for weeks, I'm still very surprised by this. I thought it would fall slowly down the charts like all the other games but I guess not.
-The Incredible Maze fell 3 to 15th. Hah! Serves it good! Moving on. Text is getting long.
-I'll move right past a group of games bobbing up and down ever so slightly (I'm especially happy about My Pokémon Ranch being in a prime position to drop out when the new games arrive this Friday... squuuee!) and arrive at 20th position where an old "friend" returns to the charts. Toki Tori is booted and SPOGS Racing arrives! But can you seriously blame people. I mean, I love racing games but if you go to the Racing category in the genres section of the WiiStore you're granted with only a single title there. Heck I've been tempted to buy it at times cause my Wii is starving for a WiiWare racing title, and I'm sure many people give in to temptation therefore. You hear this developers? No more games in heavily overpopulated genres (read as puzzle) and more racing and RPG games thank you. We're starving for it.
Well, wasn't this an exciting week, I guess you never know with these things. And next week shouldn't disappoint either since we probably will get three new games. I won't predict anymore since I seem to be only 50-50 anyway but I can atleast hope for Gradius right? But I can't promise you this much movement every week, cause that would be, you know, crazy.
Hmmm... Sure, it's yet ANOTHER puzzle game... But puzzle games like Lolo and Lemmings are games fit me much better with me as opposed to elimination puzzlers so perhaps I could be swayed. I'll take this under consideration.
@Wiiloveit: Even better up, I can give you Swaziland!! But no, not gonna do that. Just did UK this once since it's a recurring chart but I would prefer if I didn't have to cause it's a bit of a hassle to switch regions. If you are unable and everyone else unwilling, sure then once in a while I might back you up. But like I said, I rather not. UK is your puppy.
Since I kinda said I'd cover it if needed... Here's the UK chart: 1 My Aquarium 2 Tetris Party 3 Bomberman Blast 4 The Incredible Maze 5 Space Invaders Get Even 6 Brain Challenge 7 TV Show King 8 Defend Your Castle 9 Midnight Pool 10 My Pokémon Ranch 11 Wild West Guns 12 Helix 13 Mega Man 9 14 Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life As A King 15 LostWinds 16 Alien Crush Returns 17 Midnight Bowling 18 Home Sweet Home 19 Cocoto Fishing Master 20 Strong Bad Episode 1: Homestar Ruiner
I was just over at the Aussie store (which is something I do at times) and I'd just like to point out that Space Invaders charted in 3rd. How's that for a contrast to the Swedish charts...
It's again time for everyone's favorite chart and this week we have plenty of movement for you all to ponder upon.
Now, here's the Swedish top 20: (2) 1 - Mega Man 9 (1) 2 - Tetris Party (3) 3 - My Aquarium (5) 4 - Bomberman Blast (8) 5 - Helix (7) 6 - Midnight Bowling (6) 7 - LostWinds (N) 8 - Brain Challenge (9) 9 - Wild Wild West (10) 10 - Defend Your Castle (11) 11 - TV Show King (4) 12 - The Incredible Maze (N) 13 - Alien Crush Returns (N) 14 - Space Invaders Get Even (14) 15 - Cocoto Fishing Master (15) 16 - Midnight Pool (12) 17 - Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life As A King (16) 18 - Dr. Mario & Germ Buster (13) 19 - My Pokémon Ranch (18) 20 - Toki Tori
Notable action of the week: *Tetris Party's reign at the top lasted for only one week and Mega Man 9 has instead reclaimed that position. I had no idea Mega Man was this popular in Sweden. *Helix is this weeks biggest climber and went 3 spots from 8th to 5th. It's now 7 weeks since the very same game left the US charts. How things can differ ehh? *Brain Challenge is this weeks' highest newcomer is 8th. Not too surprising since it's the kind of casual that the average Wii Fit buyer would appreciate. Gameloft keeps getting win after win, it's very impressive of them. *In 12th we find the faller of the week and this drop redefines what a big drop on the Wiiware charts is. The turd known as "The Incredible Maze" kinda lived up to it's name and dropped an incredible 8 spots(?!) and that's despite that only one of the newcomers passed it. I'm guessing people realized how atrocious it was. At this rate it will leave the chart by next week. *Something that not many people may know is that Sweden's first claim to fame in gaming was with pinball games. It was actually DICE, the developer the behind the Battlefield series that first broke into the gaming scene win the well known Pinball Dreams series. So we have a pinball legacy here in Sweden. But apparently that was no help for Alien Crush Returns which entered the charts in 13th place. Respectable but that about it. However, it did beat... *Space Invaders Get Even which entered the charts in 14th. I'm guessing that it's not remembered all too fondly in these parts and it being broken up in all those parts probably didn't help either. *FFCC:MLAAK was dangerously close to leaving the charts altogether this week. For a large part of the week it hovered in 19th but eventually managed to climb back 2 positions and ended up in 17th. Still, it's a sure indication that time is running out for Final Fantasy and it dropped 5 spots in total. *Instead the 19th spot was claimed by My Pokémon Ranch after falling 6 spots. While, it has had drops like this before, it has never been as far down as it is now and when the next batch of games arrive it might not be here anymore. *And finally in 20th Toki Tori is still holding on. Way to go! *This week's drop outs were "The Sims 1 without the actual playing part of the Sims", "Overboard Equal But Less" and "Crappy racing game making strides in the charts just cause it's uncontested". Especially the complete failure of Home Sweet Home is notable since it entered the charts just 2 weeks ago.
Next week there's nothing really interesting to look forward to. No new games mean no new fun. Sure, we'll see if Mega Man 9 can hang on to its reclaimed top spot, how far up the charts the newcomers will go after their first full weeks and if Toki Tori can manage to stay alive for another week. But what I really would want is weekly updates instead of biweekly like it is now... You listening NOE?
Just checked and all three new games has already entered the Swedish chart. And in related news, Mega Man 9 has overtaken Tetris Party for 1st again. That's impressive.
Good there UK, Mega Man 9 stalled... Phew... With last weeks gargantuan drop I was getting slightly worried there for a while.
And yes, No Rotohex is disappointing. It's my fave of the bit gen. games even though it's not really my genre of choice. But I think the reason is the problem that other titles like Madstone, Potpourrii and Plättchen has fallen victim to, just the shear over-saturation of puzzle titles. That it's now affecting a game like Rotohex really shows that releasing another right now is deeply stupid...
Shucks... Edit function seems to be broken. Anyway, kinda surprised about Alien Crush... I mean sure, I personally don't get its appeal (it's pretend pinball!) but it's a franchise game and even though that franchise might not be Mega Man or Tetris or similar, that should still be enough to bring in some sales... Atleast enough to break the top 20. Or maybe people in general just find the concept of virtual pinball as lackluster as I do.
No new releases last Wednesday but there's still a new entry (or technically re-entry).
Here's the Swedish top 20: (2) 1 - Tetris Party (1) 2 - Mega Man 9 (3) 3 - My Aquarium (9) 4 - The Incredible Maze (4) 5 - Bomberman Blast (5) 6 - LostWinds (7) 7 - Midnight Bowling (6) 8 - Helix (11) 9 - Wild Wild West (8) 10 - Defend Your Castle (12) 11 - TV Show King (10) 12 - Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life As A King (13) 13 - My Pokémon Ranch (16) 14 - Cocoto Fishing Master (14) 15 - Midnight Pool (15) 16 - Dr. Mario & Germ Buster (18) 17 - Home Sweet Home (-) 18 - Toki Tori (19) 19 - Pirates: The Key Of Dreams (17) 20 - SPOGS Racing
Things to note: *Tetris Party passes Mega Man 9 for first place and it's the first time we've had a No 1 not named Mega Man 9 since I started covering it. *In 4th we find climber of the week. For some reason that honor goes to The Incredible Maze which climbs 5 spots. For the life of me I can't see why people keep buying that crap. Gotta be the price tag. *Not too much interesting movement in the charts this week so we'll go down all the way to 17th where we find that Home Sweet Home did not capitalize on the two extra days it got this week compared to last week. It's officially a bust. Moving on... *...to 18th where completely unexpectedly Toki Tori has made a return to the charts. Guess it just goes to show that good games always come back. Guess that might explain why LostWinds are doing so well. *This weeks biggest faller is SPOGS Racing. It falls 3 spots to 20th. Something that this community probably enjoys considering that there seems to be universal hatred for the game. *There were only one game that left the charts this week and that was Strong Bad Ep 2. This means that this is the first time since the game launched and perhaps the only time for quite some time that a Strong Bad won't chart on the list, considering that Ep 3 most likely will premier this Friday. Still, momentum is starting to get critically low for this series.
This Friday we'll have new game again! Yay! Meaning next weeks charts will be more interesting. Apart from very likely releases Strong Bad Ep 3 and Alien Crush Returns we could get a few more surprises. For some reason, thing just don't look good for the Art style series quite yet, but maybe Groovin' Blocks or MadStone if they still think that releasing puzzle games are a good idea. Other then that there's more unlikely candidates like Gyrostarr. Or it's possible we'll get Space Invaders or Gradius before the US. Or maybe we'll get a release like Home Sweet Home again, kinda out of the blueish... Oh well, time will tell...
WOHO! It's finally coming. I mean sure, the PAL release is by no means a done deal with this but atleast things are progressing. I'm pretty sure I'll get to play it before Christmas.
@Wiiloveit Come on, it's not that hard. Just a D followed by "jungle" but spelled phonetically if I put it like that and then "urban" like sub-urban if you prefer (although it's not a reference to that). Really, it's not very difficult at all.
And how come Mega Man ain't popular? I mean, it seems atleast decently popular in the rest of the PAL region so what's so particular about the UK... Maybe if there's a Football Man (that would be Soccer Man for our US friends) in the sequel things would change.
@Starwolf_UK Don't worry, from now on if no one posts the UK chart I'll back up for it. I'm already doing that for the Aussie (I don't have any Wii points right now anyway) and the German charts (just haven't bothered to post them) so if needed I could cover the UK charts in those rare cases where no one else has.
This is the Swedish top 20, back by popular demand... Yeah, whatever... (1) 1 - Mega Man 9 (-) 2 - Tetris Party (2) 3 - My Aquarium (3) 4 - Bomberman Blast (6) 5 - LostWinds (4) 6 - Helix (5) 7 - Midnight Bowling (7) 8 - Defend Your Castle (-) 9 - The Incredible Maze (8) 10 - Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life As A King (9) 11 - Wild Wild West (12) 12 - TV Show King (16) 13 - My Pokémon Ranch (10) 14 - Midnight Pool (15) 15 - Dr. Mario & Germ Buster (11) 16 - Cocoto Fishing Master (13) 17 - SPOGS Racing (-) 18 - Home Sweet Home (19) 19 - Pirates: The Key Of Dreams (14) 20 - Strong Bad Episode 2: Strong Badia the Free
We week we make note of that: *Mega Man 9 managed to hold off Tetris Party in order to stay in first for its 5th straight week. *Tetris Party on the other hand is our highest newcomer, entering at 2nd. *After 22 weeks on the chart, LostWinds finally does what one can expect of it and... climbs to 5th? Yeah, I've stopped trying to make sense of this game's ups and downs. *Helix is no longer stuck in 4th, drops 2 spots to 6th place. Still very impressive. *In 9th we find our second newcomer and all I have to say is that game (the physical version you know) wasn't even fun in kindergarden. So why?! Yeah, The Incredible Maze is in 9th... *My Pokémon Ranch climbs up to 13th place this week and is with that the biggest climber of the week. Seems it's doomed to bob up and down between 12-17th place for all eternity. *Just below, Midnight Pool (4), Cocoto Fishing Master (5) and SPOGS Racing (4) are all registering significant drops and might very well leave us in the coming weeks. However, none of them did the worst this week. *But before we get to that we have our final newcomer in 18th place. I was sure Home Sweet Home would resonate more with the Sims crowd, the graphics just screams Sims 1, but apparently it ain't doing so well. Not that I really care, I rather dislike the building part of the Sims and thus would probably dislike this aswell if I tried it, but I did expect it to do better. *I also would like to note that Pirates: The Key of Dreams is still charting. Quite impressive since 5 weeks ago it had dropped out and yet in the past three weeks have been stagnant around 19th place, which in itself is a feat seeing how turbulent that region is in general. I bet there's some Overboard nostalgia going on there. *Anyway, time for the dud of the week and for the second time in a row a Strong Bad game is the biggest faller. This week it's the 2nd episode that drops a big 6 places from 14th to 20th. Seems like the hype is fading fast for this series. *Dropping out this week is Star Soldier R, Potpourrii and Strong Bad Episode 1: Homestar Ruiner. All of them were pretty much expected. Star Soldier R has in a way been overperforming these past few weeks while Potpourrii goes the way of all the other puzzlers of late and after Strong Bad fell freely into last place last week, little else than dropping out completely was to expect from the game with 3 new games being released.
This Friday is expected to be only for VC releases and thus things will probably stay fairly the same next week. But considering the amount of games in the pipeline right now, this bi-weekly release schedule could change at any moment so who knows.
@Versus22 Yeah, irony is not your strong suite ehhh?
Atleast it seems like trying a different approach than the others... I mean, it's still a puzzle game so I couldn't care less ( or I could, it could be Barbie themed) but I'm not gonna bitch about it...
This looks like a potential instant buy... Not that I really need it, I've got enough RPG's to last me atleast 3-4 years if I started playing immediately but it does look pretty nice and I do wanna support the initiative cause I do like my J-RPGs.
This week's Swedish top 20 is... drumroll (1) 1 - Mega Man 9 (3) 2 - My Aquarium (2) 3 - Bomberman Blast (4) 4 - Helix (10) 5 - Midnight Bowling (6) 6 - LostWinds (5) 7 - Defend Your Castle (9) 8 - Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life As A King (7) 9 - Wild Wild West (8) 10 - Midnight Pool (11) 11 - Cocoto Fishing Master (13) 12 - TV Show King (14) 13 - SPOGS Racing (12) 14 - Strong Bad Episode 2: Strong Badia the Free (17) 15 - Dr. Mario & Germ Buster (15) 16 - My Pokémon Ranch (18) 17 - Star Soldier R (20) 18 - Potpourrii (19) 19 - Pirates: The Key Of Dreams (16) 20 - Strong Bad Episode 1: Homestar Ruiner
So what's to note this week... *No new entries this week, although that was to be expected since there were no new releases. *Starting from the top, Mega Man 9 has now extended it's streak in the top spot where it has resided since like 10 hours after its release. *Helix is still fourth. This is the fourth straight week for it in that position. As much as it died spectacularly in the US it seems to be a big success in Europe. *Midnight Bowling jumped up 5 spots from last weeks 10th place and is with that the chart's biggest climber. The free fall should start any minute now. *A bit in the shadow of Helix, LostWinds is also maintaining strong form which in a way is much more impressive since it was a launch title. It's 6th for the third time in four weeks. *Star Soldier R is still charting, in fact, it's climbing... *Potpourrii is still charting aswell even though I predicted it would implode on itself and drop out. Still, its meek 2 spot advancement is not particularly impressive for such a new game so I'll predict again that Potpourrii will now finally head southwards, especially with new releases impending. *Strong Bad Episode 1 fell four spots to 20th and is with that this week's biggest faller. It's now dangerously close to being booted. I never thought that would happen this quickly.
Next week will however be quite interesting. With Tetris Party and Space Invaders Get Even most likely released aswell as possibly 1 or 2 more surprises, things could change a lot in the chart.
Seriously, another puzzler?! It's like someone is conducting some kind of experiment, testing how saturated the puzzle market can become before it implodes on itself and goes the way of the brawler. I'm seriously starting resent the entire concept of a puzzle game.
I'm actually strongly considering buying Disaster. I mean sure, I like the concept and I'll definitely wait for reviews but even though I don't really buy new games ever really (unless it's a Suikoden game) I might actually buy it when it's released just so that I can do my part to bring it to North America. Yeah, that's right, I'm that weird. I just hate restrictions in general and region restrictions are the among the worst kinds (because it's so incredibly unnecessary) and I'm all too familiar with missing out on good games for no good reason (read: region restrictions) so I sympathize with you.
I'm strongly considering just being bitter and completely block this game from existence when it's released in Europe. It might be great, but no part of me craves the game and I'll be just as happy without it. If it were to arrive on Wiiware I'd download it immediately just because of buzz. But as a retail I just can't be bothered. I own like 200 games that I haven't finished if not more, I won't run out of things to do. Maybe I'll pick it up as used in a few years but on the other hand, maybe not. I don't care that it's an indie game and that I usually really support that, this kind of behavior is inexcusable. ARGH! I hate regions... It's like they're asking us to pirate it.
Would you look at that, Gradius is a big hit. Give us your big hit already... Or what the hell, might just give up and use that little thing you talked about in that other topic Starwolf.
Oh, and just saying... Wasn't Defend Your Castle, FFCC:MLAAK and TV Show King released at the same time as Lost Winds? They're performing better than Lost Winds... In US atleast. In Sweden though, it is the best charting launch title right now (Defend Your Castle wasn't a launch title in Europe).
And in related news, here's the Swedish Top 20: (1) 1 - Mega Man 9 (3) 2 - Bomberman Blast (2) 3 - My Aquarium (4) 4 - Helix (6) 5 - Defend Your Castle (7) 6 - LostWinds (9) 7 - Wild Wild West (8) 8 - Midnight Pool (10) 9 - Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life As A King (-) 10 - Midnight Bowling (12) 11 - Cocoto Fishing Master (5) 12 - Strong Bad Episode 2: Strong Badia the Free (11) 13 - TV Show King (14) 14 - SPOGS Racing (13) 15 - My Pokémon Ranch (17) 16 - Strong Bad Episode 1: Homestar Ruiner (16) 17 - Dr. Mario & Germ Buster (18) 18 - Star Soldier R (20) 19 - Pirates: The Key Of Dreams (-) 20 - Potpourrii
This week's chart had both new games enter the chart in perhaps not too impressive fashion, although a top 10 position for Midnight Bowling is kinda decent atleast. Maybe more notable though is that this is the first time we've seen Potpourrii enter ANY chart anywhere, if still just barely. In effect Toki Tori and Block Breaker Deluxe got booted even though I suspect that Toki Tori may very well reclaim that 20th position from Potpourrii unless NoE decided you break from the current release pattern and give us something other than just VC games this Friday. Other notable details are that Mega Man 9 is still going strong at the top, Helix is still in 4th (quite impressive considering its performance elsewhere) and that Strong Bad Episode 2 dropped a massive 7 spots this week.
Looks like there will be an interesting fight for first place next week between Mega Man 9, World Of Goo and Tetris Party. Mega Man should have lost most of its momentum by now, if you were excited about it before you would have bought it by now, while at the same time World Of Goo is on the other hand gaining momentum now with all the positive reviews coming out and Tetris, well it's Tetris... Needs no presentation. We'll see who'll come out on top.
There are no translations for the European releases, atleast not when it comes to the two games I've bought so far (MM9 and BmB). So there are virtually no hurdles to overcome, just release it already.
I think it's a good move. After all, that char is looking alot more like its face pic art now and in my book that's a good chance since clearly that's how it was intended tolook. And I mean, if you really really love the old game so much, it won't go away you know... Go right ahead and play it...
@gabbo So if I absolutely hate the Wii Sports Bowling and considers that control system to be a vile abomination and among the worst control systems ever without counting games that are down right broken, could I possibly enjoy this game? Never could get the timing right, not that I really bothered either but anyway. Maybe these control would feel more natural to me.

Re: EU WiiWare Update: Cubello, Cue Sports, Cooking Jam and Strong Bad 3
I rather have 2 every week rather that 4 every other... But atleast its a step in the right direction...
Re: Top 20 WiiWare Games in USA (19th Nov)
@Wiiloveit
Haha, well, I don't really.
Re: Top 20 WiiWare Games in USA (19th Nov)
I'm happy that Yummy atleast charted somewhere, would have been a bummer otherwise.
Re: Top 20 WiiWare Games in USA (19th Nov)
Actually, Strong Bad 2 charted for a total of 7 weeks while the third game is already on its way out after only 4. So I'd say they are performing as one can expect which is each version doing a little worse than the previous.
Re: Top 20 WiiWare Games in USA (19th Nov)
Re: Evasive Space Is Anything But Evasive When It Comes to Screenshots
What? Yuke's makes something that is good?! It can't be! gasp Yeah, I'll definitely look out for this one
Re: Wayforward Interview - LIT
Hmmm... Sure, it's yet ANOTHER puzzle game... But puzzle games like Lolo and Lemmings are games fit me much better with me as opposed to elimination puzzlers so perhaps I could be swayed. I'll take this under consideration.
Re: Bruiser & Scratch Coming To WiiWare In December
"Last week we did an interview with Steel Penny Games about their upcoming WiiWare puzzler..." and then I stopped reading...
Re: USA WiiWare Update: Strong Bad Ep 4 & Target Toss Pro: Bags
Hm... Seems you won't be getting Space Invaders anytime soon then.
Re: Top 20 WiiWare Games in USA (12th Nov)
@Wiiloveit: Even better up, I can give you Swaziland!!
But no, not gonna do that. Just did UK this once since it's a recurring chart but I would prefer if I didn't have to cause it's a bit of a hassle to switch regions. If you are unable and everyone else unwilling, sure then once in a while I might back you up. But like I said, I rather not. UK is your puppy.
Re: High Voltage Confirms Evasive Space For WiiWare
Yuke's you mean? Primarily they make wrestling games... Which is why I'm not really ecstatic about this news...
Re: Top 20 WiiWare Games in USA (12th Nov)
Since I kinda said I'd cover it if needed... Here's the UK chart:
1 My Aquarium
2 Tetris Party
3 Bomberman Blast
4 The Incredible Maze
5 Space Invaders Get Even
6 Brain Challenge
7 TV Show King
8 Defend Your Castle
9 Midnight Pool
10 My Pokémon Ranch
11 Wild West Guns
12 Helix
13 Mega Man 9
14 Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life As A King
15 LostWinds
16 Alien Crush Returns
17 Midnight Bowling
18 Home Sweet Home
19 Cocoto Fishing Master
20 Strong Bad Episode 1: Homestar Ruiner
Don't expect me to do this every week though...
Re: Top 20 WiiWare Games in USA (12th Nov)
I was just over at the Aussie store (which is something I do at times) and I'd just like to point out that Space Invaders charted in 3rd. How's that for a contrast to the Swedish charts...
Re: Top 20 WiiWare Games in USA (12th Nov)
It's again time for everyone's favorite chart and this week we have plenty of movement for you all to ponder upon.
Now, here's the Swedish top 20:
(2) 1 - Mega Man 9
(1) 2 - Tetris Party
(3) 3 - My Aquarium
(5) 4 - Bomberman Blast
(8) 5 - Helix
(7) 6 - Midnight Bowling
(6) 7 - LostWinds
(N) 8 - Brain Challenge
(9) 9 - Wild Wild West
(10) 10 - Defend Your Castle
(11) 11 - TV Show King
(4) 12 - The Incredible Maze
(N) 13 - Alien Crush Returns
(N) 14 - Space Invaders Get Even
(14) 15 - Cocoto Fishing Master
(15) 16 - Midnight Pool
(12) 17 - Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life As A King
(16) 18 - Dr. Mario & Germ Buster
(13) 19 - My Pokémon Ranch
(18) 20 - Toki Tori
Notable action of the week:
*Tetris Party's reign at the top lasted for only one week and Mega Man 9 has instead reclaimed that position.
Re: World of Goo Coming to WiiWare in Europe!
YESYESYESYESYESYESYESYESYESYESYESYESYESYESYESYESYES!
Yep, that pretty much sums it up!
Re: Review: Space Invaders Get Even (WiiWare)
Large file size and sneaky pricing makes Anders a dull boy...
Re: Top 20 WiiWare Games in USA (5th Nov)
Just checked and all three new games has already entered the Swedish chart. And in related news, Mega Man 9 has overtaken Tetris Party for 1st again. That's impressive.
Re: Hudson's Upcoming WiiWare Games Revealed
Snowboard Riot actually look like a decent game... Seems they take a page from Snowboard Kids there which I wouldn't mind at all...
Re: EU WiiWare Update: Alien Crush Returns, Brain Challenge and Space Invaders Get Even
What? No Strong Bad? Now that was unexpected... Huh...
Re: Top 20 WiiWare Games in USA (5th Nov)
So... No Canada today?
Re: Top 20 WiiWare Games in USA (5th Nov)
Good there UK, Mega Man 9 stalled... Phew... With last weeks gargantuan drop I was getting slightly worried there for a while.
And yes, No Rotohex is disappointing. It's my fave of the bit gen. games even though it's not really my genre of choice. But I think the reason is the problem that other titles like Madstone, Potpourrii and Plättchen has fallen victim to, just the shear over-saturation of puzzle titles. That it's now affecting a game like Rotohex really shows that releasing another right now is deeply stupid...
Re: Top 20 WiiWare Games in USA (5th Nov)
Re: Top 20 WiiWare Games in USA (5th Nov)
No new releases last Wednesday but there's still a new entry (or technically re-entry).
Here's the Swedish top 20:
(2) 1 - Tetris Party
(1) 2 - Mega Man 9
(3) 3 - My Aquarium
(9) 4 - The Incredible Maze
(4) 5 - Bomberman Blast
(5) 6 - LostWinds
(7) 7 - Midnight Bowling
(6) 8 - Helix
(11) 9 - Wild Wild West
(8) 10 - Defend Your Castle
(12) 11 - TV Show King
(10) 12 - Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life As A King
(13) 13 - My Pokémon Ranch
(16) 14 - Cocoto Fishing Master
(14) 15 - Midnight Pool
(15) 16 - Dr. Mario & Germ Buster
(18) 17 - Home Sweet Home
(-) 18 - Toki Tori
(19) 19 - Pirates: The Key Of Dreams
(17) 20 - SPOGS Racing
Things to note:
*Tetris Party passes Mega Man 9 for first place and it's the first time we've had a No 1 not named Mega Man 9 since I started covering it.
Re: Gradius Rebirth Gets ESRB Rated
WOHO! It's finally coming. I mean sure, the PAL release is by no means a done deal with this but atleast things are progressing. I'm pretty sure I'll get to play it before Christmas.
Re: Top 20 WiiWare Games in USA (29th Oct)
Well, it's close enough atleast...
Re: Top 20 WiiWare Games in USA (29th Oct)
@Wiiloveit
Come on, it's not that hard.
@Starwolf_UK
Don't worry, from now on if no one posts the UK chart I'll back up for it. I'm already doing that for the Aussie (I don't have any Wii points right now anyway) and the German charts (just haven't bothered to post them) so if needed I could cover the UK charts in those rare cases where no one else has.
Re: Top 20 WiiWare Games in USA (29th Oct)
What the hell UK? Mega Man 9 in 11TH! Explain yourself!!!
Re: Top 20 WiiWare Games in USA (29th Oct)
This is the Swedish top 20, back by popular demand... Yeah, whatever...
(1) 1 - Mega Man 9
(-) 2 - Tetris Party
(2) 3 - My Aquarium
(3) 4 - Bomberman Blast
(6) 5 - LostWinds
(4) 6 - Helix
(5) 7 - Midnight Bowling
(7) 8 - Defend Your Castle
(-) 9 - The Incredible Maze
(8) 10 - Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life As A King
(9) 11 - Wild Wild West
(12) 12 - TV Show King
(16) 13 - My Pokémon Ranch
(10) 14 - Midnight Pool
(15) 15 - Dr. Mario & Germ Buster
(11) 16 - Cocoto Fishing Master
(13) 17 - SPOGS Racing
(-) 18 - Home Sweet Home
(19) 19 - Pirates: The Key Of Dreams
(14) 20 - Strong Bad Episode 2: Strong Badia the Free
We week we make note of that:
*Mega Man 9 managed to hold off Tetris Party in order to stay in first for its 5th straight week.
Re: Top 20 WiiWare Games in USA (29th Oct)
That would be Midnight Pool. Midnight Bowling is annoyingly up there in 6th place.
Re: Okiraku Putter Golf Coming To Japanese WiiWare
Very nice... Looks like a truly ambitious mini-golf game... Not too many of those around so I'm all for this one.
Re: Boom Tapper Coming To Japanese WiiWare
@Versus22
Yeah, irony is not your strong suite ehhh?
Atleast it seems like trying a different approach than the others... I mean, it's still a puzzle game so I couldn't care less ( or I could, it could be Barbie themed) but I'm not gonna bitch about it...
Re: Top 20 WiiWare Games in USA (22nd Oct)
@rich
Go back and read the comments in the "USA WiiWare Update" article from October 13th.
Re: Brand New Sorcery Blade Game Play Video
This looks like a potential instant buy... Not that I really need it, I've got enough RPG's to last me atleast 3-4 years if I started playing immediately but it does look pretty nice and I do wanna support the initiative cause I do like my J-RPGs.
Re: Top 20 WiiWare Games in USA (22nd Oct)
This week's Swedish top 20 is... drumroll
(1) 1 - Mega Man 9
(3) 2 - My Aquarium
(2) 3 - Bomberman Blast
(4) 4 - Helix
(10) 5 - Midnight Bowling
(6) 6 - LostWinds
(5) 7 - Defend Your Castle
(9) 8 - Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life As A King
(7) 9 - Wild Wild West
(8) 10 - Midnight Pool
(11) 11 - Cocoto Fishing Master
(13) 12 - TV Show King
(14) 13 - SPOGS Racing
(12) 14 - Strong Bad Episode 2: Strong Badia the Free
(17) 15 - Dr. Mario & Germ Buster
(15) 16 - My Pokémon Ranch
(18) 17 - Star Soldier R
(20) 18 - Potpourrii
(19) 19 - Pirates: The Key Of Dreams
(16) 20 - Strong Bad Episode 1: Homestar Ruiner
Re: New Screenshots for Bang!
Seriously, another puzzler?! It's like someone is conducting some kind of experiment, testing how saturated the puzzle market can become before it implodes on itself and goes the way of the brawler. I'm seriously starting resent the entire concept of a puzzle game.
Re: Tetris Party Hits Europe Friday
Where's Gradius... I want Gradius... I need my Gradius... Gimme! I know this is about Tetris, but I'm impatient...
Re: World of Goo is Officially the Best Wii Game Ever
I'm actually strongly considering buying Disaster. I mean sure, I like the concept and I'll definitely wait for reviews but even though I don't really buy new games ever really (unless it's a Suikoden game) I might actually buy it when it's released just so that I can do my part to bring it to North America. Yeah, that's right, I'm that weird. I just hate restrictions in general and region restrictions are the among the worst kinds (because it's so incredibly unnecessary) and I'm all too familiar with missing out on good games for no good reason (read: region restrictions) so I sympathize with you.
Re: World of Goo is Officially the Best Wii Game Ever
Re: Top 20 WiiWare Games in USA (15th Oct)
So no one's giving us the UK chart this week? Alright then...
Re: Top 20 WiiWare Games in USA (15th Oct)
Would you look at that, Gradius is a big hit. Give us your big hit already... Or what the hell, might just give up and use that little thing you talked about in that other topic Starwolf.
Re: Top 20 WiiWare Games in USA (15th Oct)
@Paper92
Check out the Tetris Party article on the site.
Re: Top 20 WiiWare Games in USA (15th Oct)
Oh, and just saying... Wasn't Defend Your Castle, FFCC:MLAAK and TV Show King released at the same time as Lost Winds? They're performing better than Lost Winds... In US atleast. In Sweden though, it is the best charting launch title right now (Defend Your Castle wasn't a launch title in Europe).
Re: Top 20 WiiWare Games in USA (15th Oct)
And in related news, here's the Swedish Top 20:
(1) 1 - Mega Man 9
(3) 2 - Bomberman Blast
(2) 3 - My Aquarium
(4) 4 - Helix
(6) 5 - Defend Your Castle
(7) 6 - LostWinds
(9) 7 - Wild Wild West
(8) 8 - Midnight Pool
(10) 9 - Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life As A King
(-) 10 - Midnight Bowling
(12) 11 - Cocoto Fishing Master
(5) 12 - Strong Bad Episode 2: Strong Badia the Free
(11) 13 - TV Show King
(14) 14 - SPOGS Racing
(13) 15 - My Pokémon Ranch
(17) 16 - Strong Bad Episode 1: Homestar Ruiner
(16) 17 - Dr. Mario & Germ Buster
(18) 18 - Star Soldier R
(20) 19 - Pirates: The Key Of Dreams
(-) 20 - Potpourrii
Re: Top 20 WiiWare Games in USA (15th Oct)
Looks like there will be an interesting fight for first place next week between Mega Man 9, World Of Goo and Tetris Party. Mega Man should have lost most of its momentum by now, if you were excited about it before you would have bought it by now, while at the same time World Of Goo is on the other hand gaining momentum now with all the positive reviews coming out and Tetris, well it's Tetris... Needs no presentation. We'll see who'll come out on top.
Re: High Voltage Interview: High Voltage Hot Rod Show
There are no translations for the European releases, atleast not when it comes to the two games I've bought so far (MM9 and BmB). So there are virtually no hurdles to overcome, just release it already.
Re: High Voltage Interview: High Voltage Hot Rod Show
I don't know... Not because I think it might not be any good, but because High Voltage seems to have no intention to release their games in Europe...
Re: USA WiiWare Update: World Of Goo & Art Style: Cubello
Rub it in, just rub it in... Stupid people making World Of Goo retail...
Re: EU WiiWare Update: Midnight Bowling and Potpourrii
It was probably due to the lackluster nature of the games released. Pretty much no one cares...
Re: Updated Cave Story Artwork Causes Controversy
I think it's a good move. After all, that char is looking alot more like its face pic art now and in my book that's a good chance since clearly that's how it was intended tolook. And I mean, if you really really love the old game so much, it won't go away you know... Go right ahead and play it...
Re: Review: Midnight Bowling (WiiWare)
@gabbo
So if I absolutely hate the Wii Sports Bowling and considers that control system to be a vile abomination and among the worst control systems ever without counting games that are down right broken, could I possibly enjoy this game? Never could get the timing right, not that I really bothered either but anyway. Maybe these control would feel more natural to me.
