Come on, it's excellent. I mean sure, when first getting it it felt ruthless but after finishing it a few times you can quite easily play through it in less than an hour. I'd definitely say it's one of the better games in the series.
Not surprising. I mean sure, it's low on the charts now but something tells me that the MegaMan 9 sales number in the first week of release might very well be higher than what Defend Your Castle has sold in its entire lifetime. The hype, if you remember, was seriously out of control.

Hudson keeps going on the franchise revival trail. Sweet! Here's hoping for some Bonk and perhaps maybe Neutopia... And is it crazy to dream that the first official English release of a game in the Far East Of Eden series will be a brand new WiiWare title?
@Omega: The first Adventure Island was nothing more than a rebranding of Wonder Boy (which SEGA had exclusive rights to). I mean, apart from Master Higgins, everything was exactly the same. However, when the Wonder Boy series developed into more of an adventure series the Adventure Island games remained pure platform affairs. Good platformers though. And no, it's not just you. However, the problem wasn't with the game per se, but rather with the C64 conversion.

Didn't know that anyone cared about my WoT. Huh! Who knew! Anyway, right now I just don't have time to write them for reasons I'm not gonna go into. Sorry, deal with it.
Swedish Top 20 (ELV): (1) 1 - World Of Goo (2) 2 - Fun! Fun! Serving as a stark contract compared to the utterly uneventful US chart, the Swedish chart is once again here to serve you one big slice of chart madness. And this week certainly doesn't fail to deliver. You'll se what I mean.
(1) 1 - World Of Goo (2) 2 - Fun! Fun! Minigolf (3) 3 - Mega Man 9 (4) 4 - My Aquarium (9) 5 - SPOGS Racing (6) 6 - LostWinds (7) 7 - Bomberman Blast (10) 8 - Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life As A King (5) 9 - Wild West Guns (11) 10 - My Pokémon Ranch (12) 11 - Cue Sports: Snooker vs Billiards (8) 12 - Tetris Party (19) 13 - Midnight Bowling (14) 14 - Art Style: Orbient (15) 15 - Cocoto Fishing Master (17) 16 - Defend Your Castle (13) 17 - Niki - Rock & Ball (16) 18 - The Incredible Maze (-) 19 Toki Tori (-) 20 Pit Crew Panic!
So this is basically a rather straight forward Cameltry (also known as On The Ball) rip off? Hmmmm... I don't know really... I mean, it does look quite alot better than Cameltry, but I've never really been a fan of that game either...
@StarDust Yep, I'm sad to say that that is the case here. And since you brought it up I decided to check the charts again just now and wouldn't you know... SPOGS has climbed another spot to 8th...
Are you f-ing kidding me? One puny game? One craptacular money pit in disguise to boot! Dammit! I bet this game won't chart either. Serves it right, being a Nintendo game and all. Seriously NOE, give us a few good games already, right? Or atleast more then one eveny other week... sigh Anyways...
Here's the Swedish top 20: (1) 1 - World Of Goo (2) 2 - Fun! Fun! Minigolf (3) 3 - Mega Man 9 (4) 4 - My Aquarium (7) 5 - Wild West Guns (6) 6 - LostWinds (8) 7 - Bomberman Blast (5) 8 - Tetris Party (14) 9 - SPOGS Racing (10) 10 - Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life As A King (12) 11 - My Pokémon Ranch (9) 12 - Cue Sports: Snooker vs Billiards (16) 13 - Niki - Rock & Ball (15) 14 - Art Style: Orbient (-) 15 - Cocoto Fishing Master (13) 16 - The Incredible Maze (11) 17 - Defend Your Castle (18) 18 - Sudoku Challenge! (20) 19 - Midnight Bowling (-) 20 - Helix
This week the WoT may inform you that:
In the top little is changing. World of Goo, Fun! Fun! Minigolf, Mega Man 9 and My Aquarium all remain in their respective spots from last week.
However, when going down to 8th we find one game that breaks from the established norm. After spending 12 weeks on the charts without ever leaving top 5, this week Tetris Party slips down 3 spots. Does this mean that the game will soon join Dr Mario in the wasteland just below the top 20? Not with the current release rate maybe but atleast it's an indication.
Jumping down to 9th we find the biggest climber of the week, climbing 5 spots from 14th. I'd really like for High Voltage to pay attention now. Because apparently the Swedish audience is so starved for a racing game of any kind that they are willing to pony up for a complete dud like SPOGS Racing. And this game wasn't even charting 4 weeks ago! That just has to be incentive enough for HVS to release High Voltage Hot Rod Show in Europe... Right?
In 12th we find Cue Sports: Snooker vs Billiards, down 3 spots from last week's 9th. On the way out or just the precursor of an upcoming bobbing up and down period that has happened so many times before with other titles? Either way, it's performed better in the charts than its main compeditor Midnight Pool, atleast so far.
Niki - Rock & Ball is climbing again, this week its up 3 spots to 13th which also is its best position so far in the charts. Slowly but surely it seems to be heading towards safer ground after barely escaping two weeks ago. This might actually turn out to be our first genuine word-of-mouth hit.
Further down we find our first of two returnees. Cocoto Fishing Master re-enters the charts in 15th. Can't say I'm too surprised seeing it return as the Wii is so obviously suitable to fishing gaming... I just kinda wish it didn't.
The (Not So) Incredible Maze is still dancing around in the mid to low 10's although the tendency seems to be heading south. Let's hope that this is just not me being a victim of wishful thinking and that this week's 16th place is a sign of things to come.
Biggest faller this week is Defend Your Castle, droping 6 spots to 17th. It's interesting to note that last weeks premiere appearance of DYC on the bottom half of the chart was followed by the previously almost frightfully stable game's biggest drop. Does this mean that its market is almost tapped out? I obviously can't know for sure but things have sure looked better for the game than now.
Finally in 20th we find the second returnee which is Helix. Yup...
This means that a Gameloft duo had to leave us this week. TV Show King leaving was expected to happen sooner or later seeing as it has hovered around to bottom there for ages aswell as being a launch title. However, the comparitively early departure of Brain Challenge puzzles me a bit, I was sure this was the kind of accessible casual thing that the masses would just devour whole. But I guess not. However, given how erratic this chart is, I don't think it's too bold to predict that we'll see both these games back on the chart before too long.
Yup, this is the chart. Lonpos couldn't make it in its first week but I doubt anyone was even a tiny bit surprised by that. Probably won't chart next week either seeing as it's kinda ugly and stupid and bottomless money pit and a puzzle game. Got plenty of games like that already thank you very much. No new games this Friday either so next week will be kinda samey I'm sure... I mean, of course they could surprise me with a new release structure but I've grown bitter and do not believe that such things will happen anymore.
Although partly because the game is only in English, and you're from Sweden. Yeah, along with 99% of all retail games out there. So the fact that it's only in English is not a problem. Actually, pretty sure a Swedish translation would have hurt sales. In fact, Sweden is often named one the countries where English proficiency is the highest, ignoring of course countries where English is there first language. And also, it did chart pretty well at first. It's just this last one that seems to have plummeted into the depths of oblivion. But yeah, you're probably right about 2 and 3 being a problem. I think that pricing and the wonky release schedule for a while there are to blame aswell.
Edit: Nice little WoT wannabe there... I especially like the fact that you listed likely to be released and other rated games cause I just never pay attention to what's rated or not.
Hey, is that a dare Wiiloveit? And you shouldn't complain about Mega Man 9's chart position there, if I'm not wrong that game dropped out of the UK charts last week. Shame on you...
Anyway, after a few weeks of "problematic circumstances" the Swedish charts is now back in normal fashion. This includes this largely meaningless blurb in the beginning of the post, various anecdotes about minor details and of course the glorious wall of text! Rejoice! And despite that this week wasn't a release week it was a very significant one for a very specific reason. More on that later though. First of all, the chart:
Here's the Swedish top 20: (1) 1 - World Of Goo (2) 2 - Fun! Fun! Minigolf (4) 3 - Mega Man 9 (3) 4 - My Aquarium (5) 5 - Tetris Party (6) 6 - LostWinds (7) 7 - Wild West Guns (11) 8 - Bomberman Blast (10) 9 - Cue Sports: Snooker vs Billiards (9) 10 - Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life As A King (8) 11 - Defend Your Castle (15) 12 - My Pokémon Ranch (14) 13 - The Incredible Maze (13) 14 - SPOGS Racing (17) 15 - Art Style: Orbient (20) 16 - Niki - Rock & Ball (18) 17 - Brain Challenge (19) 18 - Sudoku Challenge! (12) 19 - TV Show King (16) 20 - Midnight Bowling
And on the wall of text we can read that:
World Of Goo is predictably enough still holding on to 1st place. Mega Man 9 spent 10 weeks in first in total, let's see if World Of Goo can beat that. My prediction is yes.
Following in 2nd is last week's new entry and future predicted chart plague Fun! Fun! Minigolf. I've always known that Swedes in general have a special infatuation with minigolf but even I'm surprised by how well it's doing.
Mega Man 9 is 3rd, climbing one spot and thereby again proving that Swedes taste in gaming are superior to all other nationalities. Just look at the brits, it's not even charting there. Probably cause there's no Football Man in the game.
In 8th we find Bomberman Blast which climbs 3 spots from 11th. It had a little dip there for a few weeks but it seems everything is back to normal now...
Switching positions with Bomberman is Defend Your Castle. Last week it was in 8th and now it's 11th. Something to note is that this is the first week that the game drops below 10th in Sweden.
Stupid kiddies. They get a Wii for Christmas and of course they just have every single Pokémon related product available that they could possibly have. And therefore My Pokémon Ranch returned to the charts on New Years Eve after being absent for 5 weeks and it's been rising ever since. I thought we were rid of this stink bomb once and for all but no, the diaper demographic had to come around and screw everything up. Stupid kiddies... The game climbs 3 spots to 12th this week.
After looking like it was in serious trouble last week, Niki - Rock & Ball jumped back to a bit safer ground (not that any ground is safe on the Swedish chart, just ask Alien Crush) this week. It climbs 4 to 16th and is with that the climber of the week.
Faller of the week is TV Show King, dropping a 7 spots to 19th. Usually I would view this as a sign of it being in trouble but it's been bouncing around like that for weeks so before we know it, it'll be back to 12th I'm sure. The chart behavior of casual bait is as always bizarre.
Falling aswell is Midnight Bowling to 20th. Hopefully it'll leave the charts for good next week...
Now, attentive readers might have noticed something here, there's a game missing. Sure, it was missing last week too but that's hardly new. Several games have failed to chart in its first week and instead been needing a full 7 days of sales in order to chart. But this is a first. This is the FIRST time in the Swedish WiiWare chart's history that a title has failed to appear in the charts in the first 2 weeks since its release. And that game is Strong Bad Ep.5 - 8-Bit Is Enough. This is just a spectacular failure and another evidence that the Strong Bad franchise is trouble. Also, judging by the chart behavior of previous Strong Bad release I dare to proclaim that Strong Bad 5 will be the first game to NEVER chart in Sweden. Who would have expected that back in August when episode 1 soared into top 3 with ease...
Next week we'll have plenty of new games (4 of them hopefully or I'll get really cranky) so there'll be plenty of action in the charts I'm sure. And that's all folks.
I'd so love a new 2D Metroid, I know many others would aswell and I think that WiiWare would be a perfect fit for it. Come on Nintendo, time to throw us a bone here!
Took it's sweet time but my computer is now in working condition again. Everything will return to normal next week.
Here's the Swedish top 20: (1) 1 - World Of Goo (-) 2 - Fun! Fun! Minigolf (3) 3 - My Aquarium (2) 4 - Mega Man 9 (4) 5 - Tetris Party (6) 6 - LostWinds (5) 7 - Wild West Guns (7) 8 - Defend Your Castle (8) 9 - Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life As A King (9) 10 - Cue Sports: Snooker vs Billiards (12) 11 - Bomberman Blast (14) 12 - TV Show King (17) 13 - SPOGS Racing (19) 14 - The Incredible Maze (20) 15 - My Pokémon Ranch (13) 16 - Midnight Bowling (10) 17 - Art Style: Orbient (15) 18 - Brain Challenge (11) 19 - Sudoku Challenge! (16) 20 - Niki - Rock & Ball
Not a surprising start? What are you smoking... This is a huge surprise! Only two games?! If we're not getting 2 every Friday from now on I'll get plenty cranky... Grrrr....
So yeah, happy new years to everyone and so forth. The reason why I didn't do this earlier is that my computer broke down and in order to post this placeholder yesterday I used the Internet Channel. Not the ideal place to post a chart from. And now when I post it finally I'm doing that from a third party location and thus I'm kinda cramped for time and it will be kinda minimalistic. No wall of text today. Don't worry Wiiloveut, it will return once I've got a computer again. And now, without further ado:
Here's the Swedish top 20: (1) 1 - World Of Goo (2) 2 - Mega Man 9 (3) 3 - My Aquarium (4) 4 - Tetris Party (6) 5 - Wild West Guns (8) 6 - LostWinds (10) 7 - Defend Your Castle (9) 8 - Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life As A King (5) 9 - Cue Sports: Snooker vs Billiards (7) 10 - Art Style: Orbient (19) 11 - Sudoku Challenge! (11) 12 - Bomberman Blast (14) 13 - Midnight Bowling (18) 14 - TV Show King (12) 15 - Brain Challenge (20) 16 - Niki - Rock & Ball (-) 17 - SPOGS Racing (16) 18 - Helix (13) 19 - The Incredible Maze (-) 20 - My Pokémon Ranch
It's Christmas Eve, I've been in full throttle mode all day long, it's really late and I'm deadly tired. And yet I feel compelled to give you this week's chart. I suppose one could interpret that as me being quite nuts... Hmmm... Probably no use to try and argue that point either... Anyways...
Here's the Swedish top 20: (-) 1 - World Of Goo (2) 2 - Mega Man 9 (1) 3 - My Aquarium (3) 4 - Tetris Party (4) 5 - Cue Sports: Snooker vs Billiards (10) 6 - Wild West Guns (-) 7 - Art Style: Orbient (5) 8 - LostWinds (15) 9 - Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life As A King (6) 10 - Defend Your Castle (7) 11 - Bomberman Blast (8) 12 - Brain Challenge (12) 13 - The Incredible Maze (-) 14 - Midnight Bowling (17) 15 - Cocoto Fishing Master (19) 16 - Helix (9) 17 - Art Style: Cubello (11) 18 - TV Show King (-) 19 - Sudoku Challenge! (-) 20 - Niki - Rock & Ball
Yeah, too tired to bring you a huge wall of text today. In short we note that World of Goo is our new number one and joined the charts among all of its fellow releases Art Style: Orbient (7th), Sudoku Challenge! (19th) and Niki - Rock & Ball (20th). In addition to that, Midnight Bowling (14th) made a triumphant return to the charts for some ungodly reason. Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: MLAAK was the charting climber of the week and climbed 6 spots to 9th. It was in 19th two weeks ago......... Art Style: Cubello is the faller of the week, falling 8 spots from 9th to 17th. It should did it's best to maintain the curse of 9th position but 17th had to do. With five new(ish) entries, five games left. This week its goodbye to Art Style: Rotohex, Strong Bad Episode 4: Dangeresque 3, Bang!, Pit Crew Panic! and SPOGS Racing although I'm certain we'll see a few of these games again someday. The Swedish charts are as erratic as usual.
World Of Goo has already entered the Swedish chart in 19th. Sure, by this time Mega Man 9 was already something like 5th when it was released but still, it's still very impressive. The battle for first has begun.
Haha, thanks BDPatVCR! Wasn't aware that I was being particularly witty, I just kinda wrote and that was the result but I'll try my to meet your expectations in the future aswell!
Ok, I'll be filling in for Wiiloveit today again it seems. Here's the UK top 20: 1 My Aquarium 2 TV Show King 3 Tetris Party 4 CueSports - Snooker vs Billiards 5 Bomberman Blast 6 Brain Challenge 7 Pit Crew Panic! 8 The Incredible Maze 9 Art Style: Cubello 10 Defend Your Castle 11 My Pokémon Ranch 12 Space Invaders Get Even 13 Art Style: Rotohex 14 LostWinds 15 Wild West Guns 16 Strong Bad Episode 4: Dangeresque 3 17 Bang! 18 Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life As A King 19 Cocoto Fishing Master 20 Mega Man 9
Feel free to baffle at Mega Man 9 in 20TH(?!) position...
If it weren't for the fact that there will be a WiiWare version I'd say Bubble Bobble. But otherwise, ignoring the well known classics of course (Super Mario/Zelda/MegaMan etc), I'd say go with StarTropics.
(Yup, I did this ahead of time. Didn't write it all this in 14 minutes, that would be too crazy, even for me. I had some free time and I was bored, so why not you know. Don't worry, I've maybe the necessary adjustments in order to make it accurate at the time of posting.)
Hold the presses! They day it seemed would never come is here. And I'm sure plenty of you won't like it. Look below for details:
Here's the Swedish top 20: (3) 1 - My Aquarium (1) 2 - Mega Man 9 (2) 3 - Tetris Party (4) 4 - Cue Sports: Snooker vs Billiards (8) 5 - LostWinds (6) 6 - Defend Your Castle (7) 7 - Bomberman Blast (11) 8 - Brain Challenge (5) 9 - Art Style: Cubello (10) 10 - Wild West Guns (12) 11 - TV Show King (14) 12 - The Incredible Maze (16) 13 - Art Style: Rotohex (13) 14 - Strong Bad Episode 4: Dangeresque 3 (19) 15 - Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life As A King (-) 16 - Bang! (17) 17 - Cocoto Fishing Master (-) 18 - Pit Crew Panic! (18) 19 - Helix (15) 20 - SPOGS Racing
On this week's wall of text one can read that:
Why yes indeed, Mega Man 9 is no longer in first?!?! Claiming that position is everyone's favorite fishtank sim My Aquarium. Yay? For 500p, heck I migh buy it aswell...
LostWinds is jumping up 3 spots to 5th. And this in its 30th week of release. And wasn't this game on the verge of dropping out two weeks ago? Seriously... WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON HERE?!
Heading the opposite direction is Art Style: Cubello, dropping 4 spots to 9th. Still it's hanging in there much better than both the US release of Cubello aswell as the first US release of the Art Style series, which was Orbient. Makes me hopeful that well see all 3 games charting at the same time on Christmas Eve.
To counterbalance, Art Style: Rotohex is climbing 3 spots to 13th. As a comparison Cubello was 3rd in its second week. But hey, maybe its a slow burner.
Strong Bad Episode 4: Dangeresque 3 is falling one spot after last week's disappointing 13th entry. Usually I wouldn't even mention small changes like this. However... This marks the FIRST time since I started covering these charts that any new entry failed improve its rank in its second week after being released (with the exception of Mega Man 9 that debuted in 1st and then unsurprisingly failed to improve upon that rank). If it wasn't obvious before that the Strong Bad series is suffering, it is now.
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: MLAAK is the biggest climber of the week, climbing 4 spots to 15th. Still impersonating a yo-yo I see... It's actually as old as LostWinds but its chart performance since has been much less stellar and it's doing its climbing much further down the charts so its performance this week is not as impressive as LostWinds in my opinion.
In 16th we have our highest new entry which is Bang!. Yep... I've had it up to here with all of these single screen elimination puzzlers so that's all I'm gonna say about this one...
The second new entry of the week is our lovely toilet bowl fixer sim Pit Crew Panic!. It enters at 18th (although it charted as early as Thursday and then bobbed in and out of the charts all week long). I guess this officially counts as a another swing and miss for Hudson. Seems they are still very 50/50, it's either thundering successes or spectacular duds...
SPOGS Racing is this weeks faller, falling 5 spots to 20th. Still it has had a rather impressive re-entry run lasting for 5 weeks so far. Just too bad that it sucks...
With two new entries we have two games that drop out of the charts and those are Yummy Yummy Cooking Jam and Space Invaders Get Even. YYCJ was expected seeing as it charted in 20th last week and was kinda a tough sell. Personally I'm a bit saddened by it cause it looks adorable, but not enough to actually make me buy it. Space Invaders however was not expected and this is the second week in a row that a games has fallen from 9th and then out of the charts completely. Does this bode ill for Cubello? Let's hope not...
Not too much happened this week and still I managed to produce a buttload of text. Admit it, you all wish you were as awesome as me! Next week is exciting though. With World Of Goo confirmed as a new entry one wonders, who will be at the top of the charts next week. Will World Of Goo claim first or will casual bait deluxe manage to hold it off and will the WoG release hurt or help Mega Man 9. We'll probably see Orbient aswell as maybe Sudoku Challenge and unfortunately probably Hockey Allstar Shootout but those things are of lesser importance. Next week will be all about World of Goo. However, that chart will have to wait until Christmas Day cause here in Sweden we have the habit of celebrating "Eves" rather than "Days" and thus I'll be busy all day long. So the next chart will arrive December 25th. I'm sure you're all very disappointed by that...
@Bass X0 Toki Tori actually returned to the charts for a few days there during the weekend (aswell as My Pokémon Ranch for a short spell) here in Sweden but was eventually bumped off. Sure, this actual charting is probably only possible due to the limited size of the Swedish market, but it does indicate that Toki Tori might have some serious legs after all. And atleast in Sweden I think there's a good chance we'll see it again.
This week in Swedish chartiness brings you some seriously erratic chart movements. Yes, I know that erratic chart behavior is hardly anything new when it comes to Sweden but the week takes the cake.
Here's the Swedish top 20: (1) 1 - Mega Man 9 (5) 2 - Tetris Party (2) 3 - My Aquarium (4) 4 - Cue Sports: Snooker vs Billiards (3) 5 - Art Style: Cubello (6) 6 - Defend Your Castle (8) 7 - Bomberman Blast (18) 8 - LostWinds (10) 9 - Space Invaders Get Even (12) 10 - Wild West Guns (7) 11 - Brain Challenge (16) 12 - TV Show King (-) 13 - Strong Bad Episode 4: Dangeresque 3 (13) 14 - The Incredible Maze (19) 15 - SPOGS Racing (-) 16 - Art Style: Rotohex (20) 17 - Cocoto Fishing Master (17) 18 - Helix (14) 19 - Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life As A King (15) 20 - Yummy Yummy Cooking Jam
This week in "wall of text":
Mega Man 9 is still number 1. Shocker...
Tetris Party bounces back after last week's slide and jumps 3 spots into silver.
LostWinds, which looked like it was seriously heading down the drain, apparently revitalized itself for some unknown reason and jumped a huge 10 spots. It's obviously the climber of the week.
Brain Challenge is falling faster than expected and is now down to 11th after a 4 spot drop this week. I still think it's gonna hang around the charts for weeks to come. It has casual bait written all over it.
A title it shares with this game. I do believe Brain Challenge will follow closely in the footsteps of TV Show King which decided to climb back up 4 spots just because.
In 13th we have our first new entry. This week, Strong Bad managed to beat its companion Art Style game and actually its first week performance is better than ep. 3 aswell but more on that game later. Strong Bad Episode 4: Dangeresque 3 however enters at 13th.
SPOGS Racing is in 15th this week. That's up 4 places from last week. Being alone in the racing genre is good for business it seems. I think we need some competition here, you hear that High Voltage?
The second new entry of the week is Art Style: Rotohex. While it performed much worse than its companion game, atleast it charted here. It's in 16th this week.
Cocoto Fishing Master was on its way out in a serious way in the last two weeks. Both weeks it charted in 20th. But now, when faced with 4 new releases, it bounced back into 17th. Huh?!
Despite being a release week, the biggest chart drop(s) was actually half as big as the biggest chart climb. The biggest drop honor was shared by Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: MLAAK and Yummy Yummy Cooking Jam, ending up in 19th and 20th respectively. Seeing as two games entered this week, two games had to leave. The first of these games were Midnight Bowling which dropped from a 11th and out and therefore technically dropping further than the biggest charting droppers. A minimum of 10 spots. Even in a post Alien Crush Returns world would that's a pretty impressive drop, right? Sure it has to be the biggest? Wrong! Two weeks ago Strong Bad Episode 3 entered the charts in 15th. The next week it climbed to 9th. Sure that was an indication it would hang around for a while. But no, it dropped from 9th and all the way out of the charts. Things are indeed looking grim for the (not so) Strong Bad series.
Neither Bang nor Pit Crew Panic is anywhere to be seen. I expected Bang not to chart, but why a game featuring cute little girls that fixes a gigantic toilet can't find an audience is beyond me.
Next week I expect more erratic behavior and no new games. Boooring. If I can't have Gradius soon I'm gonna be seriously cranky...
@Shortay Well, despite my lack of enthusiam over this week, I would like to recommend Rotohex. So ok, I haven't exactly played this exact version, but the game it's based off, Dialhex, is actually a really good, creative and unique puzzler and I weren't so put off by puzzlers in general these days I would definitely pick it up.
I'd say we'll get this, Sudoku Challenge, Bang and Rotohex tonight. I mean, I'd love if either Gradius or WoG appeared, I just don't think that will happen.
Hello there, Sweden calling. And we'd like to present a chart to all you fine people (the scruffy ones may look aswell).
Here's this week's Swedish top 20: (1) 1 - Mega Man 9 (2) 2 - My Aquarium (4) 3 - Art Style: Cubello (5) 4 - Cue Sports: Snooker vs Billiards (3) 5 - Tetris Party (7) 6 - Defend Your Castle (6) 7 - Brain Challenge (8) 8 - Bomberman Blast (15) 9 - Strong Bad Episode 3: Baddest of the Bands (10) 10 - Space Invaders Get Even (13) 11 - Midnight Bowling (17) 12 - Wild West Guns (9) 13 - The Incredible Maze (16) 14 - Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life As A King (-) 15 - Yummy Yummy Cooking Jam (14) 16 - TV Show King (19) 17 - Helix (11) 18 - LostWinds (18) 19 - SPOGS Racing (20) 20 - Cocoto Fishing Master
This week's wall of text presents you with:
Mega Man 9 is in 1st again. 100% attachment rate, here we come?
Art Style: Cubello breaks into 3rd in a rather impressive move that bumps Tetris Party out of the top 3. Compared to how it performed in the US this is rather astonishing. Seems there might be good times ahead for the Art Style series.
In 9th we find the biggest climber of the week and unsurprisingly that honor goes to Strong Bad Episode 3 considering its lackluster performance last week when it fizzled into 15th. Still, the 6 spots climb to 9th is weeker than what one could expect and things are indeed looking a bit gloomy for the Strong Bad series as a whole.
Wild West Guns is turning into quite the yo-yo game, following up last week's 6 spot slide with a 5 spot climb. It's now in 12th.
Swedish Wii owners has once again turned their backs on this poor excuse of a game and relegated The Incredible Maze 4 spots into 13th. It's still not quite as low as it was two weeks ago but all in good time I guess.
In 15th we have our sole new entry and it's the game that was left behind by its fellow debutees last week. Yummy Yummy Cooking Jam finally made it into the charts and while it's not really a good performance by any means
LostWinds dropped big this week and is infact our biggest faller... Of a sort. Atleast when only counting charting games. It's 7 spots big drop would just a few weeks ago be considered a huge drop, but after Alien Crush Returns last week, 7 spots into 18th seems like little more than a footnote. And to be honest, it's not really the biggest faller of the week...
Cause that honor goes to Midnight Pool. Since it charted in 12th last week, it has at minimum had a 9 spots big drop, and quite possibly more. I guess the pool playing community isn't big enough for more then one game at a time.
New games this Friday which means lots of exciting things happening next week. Could we possibly get 4 games this week too? Might be too much to hope for but I'm optimistic. Could it finally be time for Gradius Rebirth? Pretty please?
Nice to see someone listing the Aussie charts now. Hope it will be recurring... Although hopefully with a less disappointing performance by Mega Man 9 in future...
Brand new week equals brand new chart, even in Scandinavia. And thus I bring you the Swedish top 20: (1) 1 - Mega Man 9 (4) 2 - My Aquarium (2) 3 - Tetris Party (-) 4 - Art Style: Cubello (-) 5 - Cue Sports: Snooker vs Billiards (3) 6 - Brain Challenge (7) 7 - Defend Your Castle (8) 8 - Bomberman Blast (15) 9 - The Incredible Maze (5) 10 - Space Invaders Get Even (9) 11 - LostWinds (12) 12 - Midnight Pool (13) 13 - Midnight Bowling (10) 14 - TV Show King (-) 15 - Strong Bad Episode 3: Baddest of the Bands (16) 16 - Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life As A King (11) 17 - Wild Wild West (20) 18 - SPOGS Racing (14) 19 - Helix (17) 20 - Cocoto Fishing Master
Notable action of the week: *Mega Man 9 is still at the top... And except for a single week when it bowed down to Tetris Party it has hold this position for since its release... Can't imagine there are many Swedish Wii-owners without the game right now. *Cubello is the highest new entry of the week in 4th. I always thought this was a better launch title for Art Style series rather than the fairly abstract Orbient. Hopefully the series won't crash and burn like it did in the US. *Apparently Wii owners aren't completely pooled out after Midnight Pool since Snooker vs Billiards reached 5th. Personally I want neither game but that's just me... *For some reason, Sweden decided to embrace mediocrity again this week (although mediocrity might be too flattering). Or perhaps it's the 500p price point. Either way, The Incredible Maze bounced back 6 spot to 9th this week... *Space Invaders however dropped 5 to 10th. Although, that's far better than its companion release... *May TV Show King finally be on the way out? Perhaps not, it seems to be one of those titles that hang around forever. Either way, it's down 4 spots to 14th this week. *Yup, Strongbad's latest endevour turned into a fizzle and landed in 15th. I'm guessing the European user base got tired of waiting and turned to the PC version and/or piracy. That what you get for screwing with the release schedule Telltale Games! *In the bottom 4 spots we have a few movers aswell. SPOGS Racing continues to make strides as the lone WiiWare racer while Wild West Guns is down 6, Helix is down 5 (remember that this game was 5th just two weeks ago) and Cocoto Fishing Master is down 3 spot to 20th. That was just barely because... *You may have noticed how Alien Crush Returns is conspicuously missing from the chart? No, it's not that I've made a mistake and missed it. A few hours ago it was charting in 20th but as of the posting of this article Cocoto had passed it. This means that in one single week, Alien Crush Returns most likely dropped from 6th to 21th in one big drop. That's 15 spots!!! This completely shatters all previous records and I wouldn't be surprised if this is one record that won't get beaten... Ever... *Also, high profile duo My Pokémon Ranch and Dr. Mario & Germ Buster also left us this week. And Yummy Yummy Cooking Jam is still nowhere to be seen... How about that...
Huh! I was of the impression that Bomberman Zero's graphical choices was widely ridiculed as one of the most retarded design choices of the decade?
Either way, a new Adventure Island (without "cool" graphics) does seem to have some potential. Even though it started out as little more than a Wonder Boy ripoff and while I personally have always preferred Bonk, it's a classic platforming series. And based on the limited time I've spent with Super Adventure Island 2, they seemed with that game to be taking the series in a pretty interesting direction and I'd love to see them taking that concept a bit further and possibly make it a WiiWare release... I'm just saying!

@morphballer
Get Gradius! There, problem solved!
Re: USA WiiWare Update: Gradius Rebirth
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!!!! Me want! Give it to me! Please Konami, bring to us in Europe ASAP. Pretty please?
Re: Capcom: Mega Man 9 is Best Selling WiiWare Title
Come on, it's excellent. I mean sure, when first getting it it felt ruthless but after finishing it a few times you can quite easily play through it in less than an hour. I'd definitely say it's one of the better games in the series.
Re: Capcom: Mega Man 9 is Best Selling WiiWare Title
Not surprising. I mean sure, it's low on the charts now but something tells me that the MegaMan 9 sales number in the first week of release might very well be higher than what Defend Your Castle has sold in its entire lifetime. The hype, if you remember, was seriously out of control.

Re: First Screens of Adventure Island: The Beginning Revealed
Hudson keeps going on the franchise revival trail. Sweet! Here's hoping for some Bonk and perhaps maybe Neutopia... And is it crazy to dream that the first official English release of a game in the Far East Of Eden series will be a brand new WiiWare title?
@Omega:
The first Adventure Island was nothing more than a rebranding of Wonder Boy (which SEGA had exclusive rights to).

Re: Equilibrio
So this is basically a rather straight forward Cameltry (also known as On The Ball) rip off? Hmmmm... I don't know really... I mean, it does look quite alot better than Cameltry, but I've never really been a fan of that game either...
Re: Top 20 WiiWare Games in USA (21st Jan)
@Wiiloveit
Very nice "In your face" there... Nintendo should be ashamed...
Re: Top 20 WiiWare Games in USA (21st Jan)
@StarDust
Yep, I'm sad to say that that is the case here. And since you brought it up I decided to check the charts again just now and wouldn't you know... SPOGS has climbed another spot to 8th...
Re: Top 20 WiiWare Games in USA (21st Jan)
Are you f-ing kidding me? One puny game? One craptacular money pit in disguise to boot! Dammit! I bet this game won't chart either. Serves it right, being a Nintendo game and all. Seriously NOE, give us a few good games already, right? Or atleast more then one eveny other week... sigh Anyways...
Here's the Swedish top 20:
(1) 1 - World Of Goo

This week the WoT may inform you that:
Yup, this is the chart. Lonpos couldn't make it in its first week but I doubt anyone was even a tiny bit surprised by that. Probably won't chart next week either seeing as it's kinda ugly and stupid and bottomless money pit and a puzzle game. Got plenty of games like that already thank you very much. No new games this Friday either so next week will be kinda samey I'm sure... I mean, of course they could surprise me with a new release structure but I've grown bitter and do not believe that such things will happen anymore.
Re: EU WiiWare Update: Lonpos
What the hell?! Are you kidding me?! One puny little game! God dammit!
Re: Top 20 WiiWare Games in USA (14th Jan)
Re: Top 20 WiiWare Games in USA (14th Jan)
Here's the Swedish top 20:
(1) 1 - World Of Goo
(2) 2 - Fun! Fun! Minigolf
(4) 3 - Mega Man 9
(3) 4 - My Aquarium
(5) 5 - Tetris Party
(6) 6 - LostWinds
(7) 7 - Wild West Guns
(11) 8 - Bomberman Blast
(10) 9 - Cue Sports: Snooker vs Billiards
(9) 10 - Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life As A King
(8) 11 - Defend Your Castle
(15) 12 - My Pokémon Ranch
(14) 13 - The Incredible Maze
(13) 14 - SPOGS Racing
(17) 15 - Art Style: Orbient
(20) 16 - Niki - Rock & Ball
(18) 17 - Brain Challenge
(19) 18 - Sudoku Challenge!
(12) 19 - TV Show King
(16) 20 - Midnight Bowling
And on the wall of text we can read that:
Next week we'll have plenty of new games (4 of them hopefully or I'll get really cranky) so there'll be plenty of action in the charts I'm sure. And that's all folks.
Re: Talking Point: Is Nintendo Ignoring WiiWare?
I'd so love a new 2D Metroid, I know many others would aswell and I think that WiiWare would be a perfect fit for it. Come on Nintendo, time to throw us a bone here!
Re: Review: Planet Pachinko (WiiWare)
Awww... I actually had high hopes for this one... Dammit...
Re: Top 20 WiiWare Games in USA (7th Jan)

(3) 3 - My Aquarium
(2) 4 - Mega Man 9
(4) 5 - Tetris Party
(6) 6 - LostWinds
(5) 7 - Wild West Guns
(7) 8 - Defend Your Castle
(8) 9 - Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life As A King
(9) 10 - Cue Sports: Snooker vs Billiards
(12) 11 - Bomberman Blast

(10) 17 - Art Style: Orbient
(15) 18 - Brain Challenge
(11) 19 - Sudoku Challenge!
(16) 20 - Niki - Rock & Ball
Swedes sure love their Minigolf...
Re: EU WiiWare Update: Fun! Fun! Minigolf and Strong Bad Episode 5
Not a surprising start? What are you smoking... This is a huge surprise! Only two games?! If we're not getting 2 every Friday from now on I'll get plenty cranky... Grrrr....
Re: Top 20 WiiWare Games in USA (31st Dec)
So yeah, happy new years to everyone and so forth. The reason why I didn't do this earlier is that my computer broke down and in order to post this placeholder yesterday I used the Internet Channel. Not the ideal place to post a chart from. And now when I post it finally I'm doing that from a third party location and thus I'm kinda cramped for time and it will be kinda minimalistic. No wall of text today. Don't worry Wiiloveut, it will return once I've got a computer again. And now, without further ado:
Here's the Swedish top 20:
(1) 1 - World Of Goo
(2) 2 - Mega Man 9
(3) 3 - My Aquarium
(4) 4 - Tetris Party
(6) 5 - Wild West Guns
(8) 6 - LostWinds
(10) 7 - Defend Your Castle
(9) 8 - Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life As A King
(5) 9 - Cue Sports: Snooker vs Billiards
(7) 10 - Art Style: Orbient
(19) 11 - Sudoku Challenge!
(11) 12 - Bomberman Blast
(14) 13 - Midnight Bowling
(18) 14 - TV Show King
(12) 15 - Brain Challenge
(20) 16 - Niki - Rock & Ball
(-) 17 - SPOGS Racing
(16) 18 - Helix
(13) 19 - The Incredible Maze
(-) 20 - My Pokémon Ranch
And that's it!
Re: Top 20 WiiWare Games in USA (24th Dec)
Haha! Don't worry... Note the smiley... The smiley is key
Re: Top 20 WiiWare Games in USA (24th Dec)
Hey! Is that a diss?! I think it is... Argh!
Re: Top 20 WiiWare Games in USA (24th Dec)
It's Christmas Eve, I've been in full throttle mode all day long, it's really late and I'm deadly tired. And yet I feel compelled to give you this week's chart. I suppose one could interpret that as me being quite nuts... Hmmm... Probably no use to try and argue that point either... Anyways...
Here's the Swedish top 20:
(-) 1 - World Of Goo
(2) 2 - Mega Man 9
(1) 3 - My Aquarium
(3) 4 - Tetris Party
(4) 5 - Cue Sports: Snooker vs Billiards
(10) 6 - Wild West Guns
(-) 7 - Art Style: Orbient
(5) 8 - LostWinds
(15) 9 - Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life As A King
(6) 10 - Defend Your Castle
(7) 11 - Bomberman Blast
(8) 12 - Brain Challenge
(12) 13 - The Incredible Maze
(-) 14 - Midnight Bowling
(17) 15 - Cocoto Fishing Master
(19) 16 - Helix
(9) 17 - Art Style: Cubello
(11) 18 - TV Show King
(-) 19 - Sudoku Challenge!
Re: EU WiiWare Update: World Of Goo And Lots More!
World Of Goo has already entered the Swedish chart in 19th. Sure, by this time Mega Man 9 was already something like 5th when it was released but still, it's still very impressive. The battle for first has begun.
Re: Top 20 WiiWare Games in USA (17th Dec)
Haha, thanks BDPatVCR! Wasn't aware that I was being particularly witty, I just kinda wrote and that was the result but I'll try my to meet your expectations in the future aswell!
Re: Top 20 WiiWare Games in USA (17th Dec)
Typical of Canadians... They see the word "hockey" and they jump on it immediately without even thinking.
Re: Top 20 WiiWare Games in USA (17th Dec)
Ok, I'll be filling in for Wiiloveit today again it seems.
Here's the UK top 20:
1 My Aquarium
2 TV Show King
3 Tetris Party
4 CueSports - Snooker vs Billiards
5 Bomberman Blast
6 Brain Challenge
7 Pit Crew Panic!
8 The Incredible Maze
9 Art Style: Cubello
10 Defend Your Castle
11 My Pokémon Ranch
12 Space Invaders Get Even
13 Art Style: Rotohex
14 LostWinds
15 Wild West Guns
16 Strong Bad Episode 4: Dangeresque 3
17 Bang!
18 Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life As A King
19 Cocoto Fishing Master
20 Mega Man 9
Feel free to baffle at Mega Man 9 in 20TH(?!) position...
Re: Top 20 WiiWare Games in USA (17th Dec)
If it weren't for the fact that there will be a WiiWare version I'd say Bubble Bobble. But otherwise, ignoring the well known classics of course (Super Mario/Zelda/MegaMan etc), I'd say go with StarTropics.
Re: Top 20 WiiWare Games in USA (17th Dec)
(Yup, I did this ahead of time. Didn't write it all this in 14 minutes, that would be too crazy, even for me. I had some free time and I was bored, so why not you know. Don't worry, I've maybe the necessary adjustments in order to make it accurate at the time of posting.)
Hold the presses! They day it seemed would never come is here. And I'm sure plenty of you won't like it. Look below for details:
Here's the Swedish top 20:
(3) 1 - My Aquarium

On this week's wall of text one can read that:
Re: Allied Kingdoms Interview - Planet Pachinko
Indie title+not puzzler=me interested...
Re: Europe to Get World of Goo This Friday
I have only one thing to say then... SQUUUUUUUEEEEEE!!!!
Ok, I'm good now
Re: Top 20 WiiWare Games in USA (10th Dec)
@Wiiloveit
I've got your back in case though... But I'd rather you do it cause mine are from this morning and thus a bit late.
Re: Top 20 WiiWare Games in USA (10th Dec)
@Bass X0
Toki Tori actually returned to the charts for a few days there during the weekend (aswell as My Pokémon Ranch for a short spell) here in Sweden but was eventually bumped off. Sure, this actual charting is probably only possible due to the limited size of the Swedish market, but it does indicate that Toki Tori might have some serious legs after all. And atleast in Sweden I think there's a good chance we'll see it again.
Re: Top 20 WiiWare Games in USA (10th Dec)
This week in Swedish chartiness brings you some seriously erratic chart movements. Yes, I know that erratic chart behavior is hardly anything new when it comes to Sweden but the week takes the cake.
Here's the Swedish top 20:
(1) 1 - Mega Man 9
(5) 2 - Tetris Party
(2) 3 - My Aquarium
(4) 4 - Cue Sports: Snooker vs Billiards
(3) 5 - Art Style: Cubello
(6) 6 - Defend Your Castle
(8) 7 - Bomberman Blast
(18) 8 - LostWinds
(10) 9 - Space Invaders Get Even
(12) 10 - Wild West Guns
(7) 11 - Brain Challenge
(16) 12 - TV Show King
(-) 13 - Strong Bad Episode 4: Dangeresque 3
(13) 14 - The Incredible Maze
(19) 15 - SPOGS Racing
(-) 16 - Art Style: Rotohex
(20) 17 - Cocoto Fishing Master
(17) 18 - Helix
(14) 19 - Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life As A King
(15) 20 - Yummy Yummy Cooking Jam
This week in "wall of text":
Next week I expect more erratic behavior and no new games. Boooring. If I can't have Gradius soon I'm gonna be seriously cranky...
Re: Texas Hold'em Tournament
So how is this better than playing Texas Hold 'em on that Facebook app for free?
Re: EU WiiWare Update: Art Style: Rotohex, Bang!, Pit Crew Panic!, and Strong Bad Episode 4: Dangeresque 3
@Shortay
Well, despite my lack of enthusiam over this week, I would like to recommend Rotohex. So ok, I haven't exactly played this exact version, but the game it's based off, Dialhex, is actually a really good, creative and unique puzzler and I weren't so put off by puzzlers in general these days I would definitely pick it up.
Re: EU WiiWare Update: Art Style: Rotohex, Bang!, Pit Crew Panic!, and Strong Bad Episode 4: Dangeresque 3
Blablabla boring. Gimme Gradius and World of Goo instead thank you very much...
Re: Review: Pit Crew Panic! (WiiWare)
I'd say we'll get this, Sudoku Challenge, Bang and Rotohex tonight. I mean, I'd love if either Gradius or WoG appeared, I just don't think that will happen.
Re: Top 20 WiiWare Games in USA (3rd Dec)

This week's wall of text presents you with:
New games this Friday which means lots of exciting things happening next week. Could we possibly get 4 games this week too? Might be too much to hope for but I'm optimistic. Could it finally be time for Gradius Rebirth? Pretty please?
Re: Top 20 WiiWare Games in USA (26th Nov)
@Mr. Cheez
I highly doubt that he counted them manually. There are online apps for that, will do it for you in a split second...
Re: Top 20 WiiWare Games in USA (26th Nov)
Nice to see someone listing the Aussie charts now. Hope it will be recurring... Although hopefully with a less disappointing performance by Mega Man 9 in future...
@Wiiloveit
Naah, it was much shorter this week.
Re: Top 20 WiiWare Games in USA (26th Nov)
Brand new week equals brand new chart, even in Scandinavia. And thus I bring you the Swedish top 20:
(1) 1 - Mega Man 9
(4) 2 - My Aquarium
(2) 3 - Tetris Party
(-) 4 - Art Style: Cubello
(-) 5 - Cue Sports: Snooker vs Billiards
(3) 6 - Brain Challenge
(7) 7 - Defend Your Castle
(8) 8 - Bomberman Blast
(15) 9 - The Incredible Maze
(5) 10 - Space Invaders Get Even
(9) 11 - LostWinds
(12) 12 - Midnight Pool
(13) 13 - Midnight Bowling
(10) 14 - TV Show King
(-) 15 - Strong Bad Episode 3: Baddest of the Bands
(16) 16 - Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life As A King
(11) 17 - Wild Wild West
(20) 18 - SPOGS Racing
(14) 19 - Helix
(17) 20 - Cocoto Fishing Master
Notable action of the week:
*Mega Man 9 is still at the top...
Re: Hudson Interview - Alien Crush Returns
I'd like them to make a proper full length Star Soldier game... Only 2 levels makes me cranky...
Re: Hudson Considers More Realistic Adventure Island
Re: EU WiiWare Update: Cubello, Cue Sports, Cooking Jam and Strong Bad 3
Thought I'd mention that Cubello has already entered the Swedish charts. Yup, even before Strong Bad 3.
