Nintendo is doing their best to kill people's interest in their console... Last time I started it up was when I got Kirby's Adventure as my compensation game... And that was almost 2½ weeks ago now... And before that... I don't even remember... Seriously Nintendo, what the hell are you doing...
WHHHAAAT! O_o It's harder? I thought the SNES version is plenty hard myself, don't want it harder than that... So I don't know... I like it's level design, but yeah... Don't know about this...
Not even the WiiWare game of the year... I mean, it's a well crafted game for the most part, but the controls are just too damn imprecise and I can't seem to find motivation to go back to it and finish it up... There are much better games out there, for example Icarian is leagues above it...
@Bulbasauras Rex Pokemon invented electric sheep? Please... Ever heard of Bladerunner? How about you look up the name the source material... I'm just saying...
This is just fantastic news! Ok, so I would have preferred a MegaMan X9 (with the look and gameplay going back to the SNES days) but this is the next best thing. Can't wait to play through it!
@Corbie Haha! That would be one weak reason for banning someone... Can't handle criticism now can you? That's rather Stalinistic of you... (points towards Gradius and Niki reviews)... You know, I'm never gonna let you forget about that Gradius score...
While I'm far from prepared to call this one "good" (wouldn't be the first time NL flubbed up one of their reviews), it is nice to see that JV is capable of doing something other than broken piece of crap...
No worries, you'll love NyxQuest I'm certain. Just remember thought it's not so much of a platformer as it is a platforming action puzzle adventure... I mean, if you're expecting a jump and stomp game (or Kid Icarus), you're not gonna get that...
Really people, retail demos won't happen... I mean, where are you supposed to put them? A decent demo could go on about 2gig and in that case the internal 0.5gig HD won't get you far.
For the record, in Sweden all five games are charting and has been pretty much since release of their respective demos. In fact, all of them are in the top 15 (technically top 10). Yay for Icarian/NyxQuest!
Hey, already downloaded all of them (even though I've owned Icarian since launch) for archival purposes and am currently trying them all out (even Icarian, just cause it's awesome). Didn't love BTB, but I was expecting that. Challenge oriented games aren't my cup of tea really. Right now it's time for FFCC:MLAAD, even though I'm almost 100% certain I'm not gonna be getting it due to all the DLC crap.
I'm thinking this is a trial by Nintendo to see how it pans out... If this is a hit then I'm sure they'll make a separate and permanent section for it in the store.
After looking at the pics... I'd say that's a fairly loose definition of the word "remake"... It's more like the exact same game but with graphics filter thrown into the mix kinda haphazardly. In fact, if I open up Phalanx in BSNES and pick the HQ2 filter I get something that actually looks a lot like those screenshots. Seems their ambition level isn't too high... Hopefully they'll sort out the audio issues atleast, the game has a tendency to drop sound effects pretty much constantly which is pretty bad considering it doesn't have too many sound effects to begin with.
AH! I played through it on emu a few months ago... It's actually not bad, it's just that it's pretty damn EVIL at times... I made excellent use of the rewind button to get through that game... If they make a difficulty that's more manageable for people like me I'll definitely consider it...
Do people really want it? I mostly do the Swedish chart for my own personal enjoyment and personally, my interest in VC games is limited (much rather buy a game for its original system if I can) so I haven't felt the need to. And overall, very little happens on it (well, apart from the last few weeks due to the compensation scheme). But if people are interested in a Swedish VC chart then I guess I could do it...
@Bigby Atleast they say they're still gonna air the back 9 episodes of the season. Guess that's something...
GOD DAMMIT! Dollhouse was just canceled... Frak me! Anyway, let's get back on topic and present this week's chart:
The Swedish Top 20: (-) 1 - Tales of Monkey Island Chapter 3: Lair of the Leviathan (1) 2 - LostWinds: Winter of the Melodias (2) 3 - Tales of Monkey Island Chapter 1: Launch of the Screaming Narwhal (-) 4 - UNO (5) 5 - LIT (3) 6 - Driift Mania (4) 7 - Contra ReBirth (6) 8 - Tales of Monkey Island Chapter 2: The Siege of Spinner Cay (8) 9 - My Aquarium* (16) 10 - Ghost Party Mansion (9) 11 - Bomberman Blast* (7) 12 - World Of Goo (11) 13 - LostWinds* (19) 14 - Onslaught (12) 15 - Final Fantasy IV: The After Years (R) 16 - Bubble Bobble Plus! I mean, only one episode charts right now and that one was released 9 days ago... So of course it's gonna chart. At the same time, Contra is in it's 9th week of release, in fact its performance thus far has been in line with MegaMan's performance in the US, and all in all it's still ahead of previously mentioned Monkey Island epi... @Sneaker13 Wait... Blades of Steel is selling in the Netherlands?! That's... odd... I mean, hockey in Holland... Let me put it this way... A semi-crappy second liner in the third tier league in Sweden can quite easily go to Holland and play in your top tier league and average something like 3 points a game... Hockey ain't that big down there so yeah... I'm a bit surprised by that...
And Sexy Poker holding on strong too I see... That's just swell... And Lit in 17th?! That's just stupid...
The Swedish top 20: (1) 1 - LostWinds: Winter of the Melodias (2) 2 - Tales of Monkey Island Chapter 1: Launch of the Screaming Narwhal (5) 3 - Driift Mania (4) 4 - Contra ReBirth (-) 5 - Lit (3) 6 - Tales of Monkey Island Chapter 2: The Siege of Spinner Cay (6) 7 - World Of Goo (12) 8 - My Aquarium* (15) 9 - Bomberman Blast* (11) 10 - Protöthea (7) 11 - LostWinds* (18) 12 - Final Fantasy IV: The After Years (8) 13 - Mega Man 9* (9) 14 - Sexy Poker (17) 15 - Fun! Left the chart: (10) - - Bubble Bobble Plus! (26w) (13) - - Aha! I Got It! Escape Game (4w) (19) - - Family Slot Car Racing (11w) (20) - - Little Tournament Over Yonder (2w)
Ok, then let me put it this way: Here in Sweden they are two COMPLETELY different things that should never be mixed up.

It's not risky... Hey, if you got an older model Wii, homebrew can even save you in case of bricking.

Excellent week you got there... Hopefully The Magic Obelisk might manage to make its way over here sooner or later... Assuming it's good of course.
Re: New La-Mulana Test Play Video
Estimated release date: January 2015... Yay! Can't wait! Or... Ehhh... Well, guess I can wait... Kinda have to...
Re: Interviews: Legendo's Pearl Harbor: Red Sun Rising
While I personally have little to no interest in flight sims, it does look awfully polished and I do wish them well with this release.

Wouldn't you prefer a release of the Arcade version of Chase HQ then? Who knows, maybe they'll throw in some Wii Wheel support aswell! Haha...

Nintendo gave us a big bowl of suck (and no Cave Story) this Christmas... "Thank you Nintendo"! (kicks them in the groin and runs away)

Re: Mega Man 10 Heading to WiiWare!
What I can't believe is that we have all these games with all these different "men" and Capcom still hasn't gotten around to making "Water Man".
