At the end of the day it is still a missed opportunity for sales which would then mean money in their pocket. All I see from his response is a scalper success story.
In my opinion, I think it looks really nice. Most likely won't get one since I have the Monster Hunter Gen new 3ds xl, but maybe for my sister since her 3ds is done for.
@JayPley But you can save at any time playing zelda. It's pretty much the same if you were playing at home and had to hurry up and go somewhere. You save and play once you get back, except if you were playing on your TV you now have the option of taking it with you on the go. Not sure why the battery is that big of a deal. Plus it lasts longer than that for me with the screen brightness on max power.
@Switch81tch His form of freedom of expression wasn't a neutral point for a public forum, and it could have been seen as an affront to a certain group of people. Since Playtonic did make their own comment public, it's turn into a something bigger, more escalated problem, but I think at the core, the fact that his thoughts weren't that of being accepting to everyone is why they are choosing to remove his voice in the first place.
@Mortenb I think their form of diversity means being accepting of all races and creeds which Jon kind of talked about in a bad light. His comments weren't neutral anymore, and there's already enough race wars going around. It's pretty much if you do or don't somebody's going to hate you for it. That's just the world we live in, but I think a lot of people are taking the reason Playtonic are removing his voice from the game in the wrong way.
Huh??? Some of these comments...like seriously. Where is the line drawn because it's 'free speech'? Sure anyone can say what they want, as they want, when they want, but the same holds true for the company, and Playtonic decided they didn't want any part of that. Their use of their own free speech if you really want to call it that, was that they didn't like what he said about a certain group of people and more power to them. All he should really expect at this point is a refund if he donated anything to have his voice added in.
At the end of the day people should be judged by their character. I would like to say that's what Playtonic were doing in this particular case. Their game is for everyone to enjoy, mixed, black, white, yellow, green, whoever. If any of Jon's comments could make ANY person feel uncomfortable I feel like they made the right decision. Though I agree with the few who said the delivery could have been better because now it has caused a rift to be formed.
@GothicZM Nobody should be attacked for their race, no matter what race you are. And that is the most idiotic reason I have ever heard. Do they not have control over their own actions? I'm sure they do. Anybody can be a racist. I just wish more people would choose to get along with everyone. We shouldn't be judged immediately based on skin color alone, but even in this day and age race is still a major reason for race divide.
Wow! The hard copy came with an ACTUAL INSTRUCTION BOOKLET like what we used to get back in the day! Not one of those controller-instruction-only affairs. I'm now officially glad I went physical.
The things you learn due to negative coverage. It's crazy that, even though it was obvious whose package it was, the usps did not send it to the rightful owner. I feel pretty disgusted by it all, but like everyone else I am happy it did finally get to him still in tact. (:
Some of you guys have been singing about the 3ds's death for so long that when it actually does happen you can't really say I told you so. xD After all, we all know that yeah its going to happen eventually as that's the eventual fate of hardware in the gaming world, but will it officially be this year or next? Anyway, I love my 3ds. If they can squeeze another year or two out of it by all means please do if the games will be worth it. x3
It is currently, and will most likely be, my favorite system of all time. Counting indie games, it has a wide array of great games both destined to be cult classics and just overly replayed for the heck of it. I know a lot of people want Nintendo to discontinue it, but 40 bucks for some of the gems that come to the system? I am not ready to say goodbye just yet.
I mean come on guys. Out of the box you get a home console machine. On top of that it turns into a portable. Home console games on the go! Detachable joy-con controllers with more tech than I can remember in them, and there isn't one but two controllers so no need to buy another for two player play! And again there is the dock which isn't just a dock. There's tech in it too. 300 is reasonable. A game packed in would have been great, but its not an extreme stretch in price. Its just Nintendo is seen as so inferior there is no reason their brand new home console should be 300 and it has great potential.
Considering a new 3ds xl is 200 and the Switch has way more bells and whistles, including a dock that transfers data to a tv, I think the price is very reasonable.
Sweet! It was obvious people were worried for nothing. After the initial presentation there will be a lot of chatter up until release and hopefully beyond.
Not. Worth. There's no difference in having it, over it not existing at all. It is pointless thanks in part to expiring coins that expire at the same time that the rewards finally switch(it should be a week or two change up). As well as thanks to the fact the rewards just plain Jane suck. Useless.
Im sure it'll work out for them. Most already know about it. In the age of the internet im sure for at least 24 hours it will be nearly first page news. People will learn about it should they wish.
And I have a ps4 so while I missed the initial backing, I still debated my console of choice. Now though, I don't even know if I want to loyally support them. The switch release date is up in the air, the Wii u is now flushed down the loo...I just feel really bummed for those that don't have other console options and wanted to play this game as much as I did.
@rjejr I honestly believe that's why they aren't offering a refund alternative. More people supported it wanting the game on Wii u then on any other platform. If they offered a refund and most Wii u backers took that route...its a shame because I really liked these guys and they stabbed us in the back with tongue in cheek 'yeah its moving to switch!' As you said, they were supposed to be working faithfully on the Wii u version. Since there isn't one what have they been doing these past few years?
The way I see it Nintendolife reviewed this title the way I wish they reviewed other titles that do things similar to Mario Maker: they judged it separately from the Wii u version for the people who never played the Wii u version. While at the same time letting Wii u owners know what not to expect from this game within the review. So this game is a 9 out of 10 if the Wii u version did not exist or rather have you not played it. Take that however you want. I have respect for that. Thanks Nintendolife.
I wish this was a miles edgeworth investigations bundle coming mobile or better yet localization news of the great ace attorney. But then im only saying this as someone who has and can still play the Apollo justice game.
@Qun_Mang Yup, I would say so. I have played the first Yo-Kai Watch, and I can understand why some reviewers would lower the score just for playing it and moving on to the sequel. The beginning does feel like it lags when you already know the ends and outs(plus the memory loss is just...a weird touch I'll admit), but once you get past a few nagging key points for 'beginners' the game shines in a lot of ways. As I said before, for those that never played the first one, starting here should feel fresh and the overall experience should be a rewarding one, especially thanks to a few of the tweaks over the original.
Personally, I probably have 12 hours under my belt. A few things I love so far: 1. Hovering with the pin tells you what sort of food the Yo-Kai would like to eat. Maybe I accidentally read over that in the review, but that is really helpful since it takes out the guesswork to try and hope for the best. 2. I can have my favorite Yo-Kai follow me instead of Whisper. It's something I wish Pokemon did more often, and I think it's a cool addition to the game. 3. There is plenty to do. From completing side quests or just collecting everything I'm sure I'll be busy with this game for weeks at least. Overall, I think it's this is a game worth the investment, especially if this would be your first jump into the world of Yo-Kai. Everything will feel fresh and there is plenty to do. Plus, if you happen to fall in love with one of the Yo-Kai he can be there to tag along with you on this lovable little journey. ^^
Probably sorry for being a sore loser of sorts at the beginning of the video i think. Losing happens. But he brushed off his friends for a while because of his losses (and his friend's gloating I believe). Basically I figure they are both apologizing to each other because one was gloating and the other avoided his friends. The trading of this 'shooting star' helped them make amends.
That's cool. Hopefully it does mean good things for the developers and companies involved. For now I am enjoying the app a lot. More than I did Miitomo.
@Spoony_Tech The previous games weren't censored. Clothes were left half absent and the gore was definitely a thing as well. It is one of the few games (though this one is 'M' rated) Nintendo didn't find the need to censor and left in as close tact to the originals I believe.
@bobafett4ever Well, there is that exclusive new dungeon and weapon too. It might excite the more die-hard Zelda fan along with the amiibo that comes with it. Or maybe they didn't finish it all the way and their old disk is broken from an accident involving their younger sister. At least mine was. Lol But it is a rebooted Zelda game at the core. Its bound to move copies regardless by name alone. But at least it's not a super deluxe edition releasing one year after the initial one did. I can't really stand those. :/
It's a pity, with all the progress we have in other areas, there is still release date discrepancies. I would have believed in this day and age, that would have been less of an issue than it is.
Well then, at least it'll retain a more natural feel in that case. The original's don't have restore points so it's not as if they are taking away things that were originally included. shrugs In the end, that's fine with me.
