Re: Playtonic Removes JonTron's Voice from Yooka-Laylee

Desa

At the end of the day people should be judged by their character.
I would like to say that's what Playtonic were doing in this particular case. Their game is for everyone to enjoy, mixed, black, white, yellow, green, whoever.
If any of Jon's comments could make ANY person feel uncomfortable I feel like they made the right decision. Though I agree with the few who said the delivery could have been better because now it has caused a rift to be formed.

Re: Playtonic Removes JonTron's Voice from Yooka-Laylee

@GothicZM Nobody should be attacked for their race, no matter what race you are. And that is the most idiotic reason I have ever heard. Do they not have control over their own actions? I'm sure they do. Anybody can be a racist. I just wish more people would choose to get along with everyone. We shouldn't be judged immediately based on skin color alone, but even in this day and age race is still a major reason for race divide.

Re: Official Financial Results Q&A Clarifies Kimishima's "3DS Successor" Comment

Some of you guys have been singing about the 3ds's death for so long that when it actually does happen you can't really say I told you so. xD After all, we all know that yeah its going to happen eventually as that's the eventual fate of hardware in the gaming world, but will it officially be this year or next?
Anyway, I love my 3ds. If they can squeeze another year or two out of it by all means please do if the games will be worth it. x3

Re: 3DS Enjoys Bumper End To 2016 With Hardware And Software Sales Both Up

Desa

It is currently, and will most likely be, my favorite system of all time. Counting indie games, it has a wide array of great games both destined to be cult classics and just overly replayed for the heck of it.
I know a lot of people want Nintendo to discontinue it, but 40 bucks for some of the gems that come to the system? I am not ready to say goodbye just yet.

Re: Editorial: Pricing Blunders Have Distorted The Narrative Around Nintendo Switch

Desa

I mean come on guys. Out of the box you get a home console machine. On top of that it turns into a portable. Home console games on the go! Detachable joy-con controllers with more tech than I can remember in them, and there isn't one but two controllers so no need to buy another for two player play! And again there is the dock which isn't just a dock. There's tech in it too. 300 is reasonable. A game packed in would have been great, but its not an extreme stretch in price. Its just Nintendo is seen as so inferior there is no reason their brand new home console should be 300 and it has great potential.

Re: Yooka-Laylee Rattles Away From Wii U Release

Desa

And I have a ps4 so while I missed the initial backing, I still debated my console of choice.
Now though, I don't even know if I want to loyally support them. The switch release date is up in the air, the Wii u is now flushed down the loo...I just feel really bummed for those that don't have other console options and wanted to play this game as much as I did.

Re: Yooka-Laylee Rattles Away From Wii U Release

Desa

@rjejr
I honestly believe that's why they aren't offering a refund alternative. More people supported it wanting the game on Wii u then on any other platform.
If they offered a refund and most Wii u backers took that route...its a shame because I really liked these guys and they stabbed us in the back with tongue in cheek 'yeah its moving to switch!'
As you said, they were supposed to be working faithfully on the Wii u version. Since there isn't one what have they been doing these past few years?

Re: Review: Super Mario Maker for Nintendo 3DS (3DS)

Desa

The way I see it Nintendolife reviewed this title the way I wish they reviewed other titles that do things similar to Mario Maker: they judged it separately from the Wii u version for the people who never played the Wii u version. While at the same time letting Wii u owners know what not to expect from this game within the review. So this game is a 9 out of 10 if the Wii u version did not exist or rather have you not played it.
Take that however you want. I have respect for that. Thanks Nintendolife.

Re: Review: Yo-kai Watch 2: Bony Spirits & Fleshy Souls (3DS)

Desa

@Qun_Mang
Yup, I would say so. I have played the first Yo-Kai Watch, and I can understand why some reviewers would lower the score just for playing it and moving on to the sequel. The beginning does feel like it lags when you already know the ends and outs(plus the memory loss is just...a weird touch I'll admit), but once you get past a few nagging key points for 'beginners' the game shines in a lot of ways. As I said before, for those that never played the first one, starting here should feel fresh and the overall experience should be a rewarding one, especially thanks to a few of the tweaks over the original.

Re: Review: Yo-kai Watch 2: Bony Spirits & Fleshy Souls (3DS)

Desa

Personally, I probably have 12 hours under my belt.
A few things I love so far:
1. Hovering with the pin tells you what sort of food the Yo-Kai would like to eat. Maybe I accidentally read over that in the review, but that is really helpful since it takes out the guesswork to try and hope for the best.
2. I can have my favorite Yo-Kai follow me instead of Whisper. It's something I wish Pokemon did more often, and I think it's a cool addition to the game.
3. There is plenty to do. From completing side quests or just collecting everything I'm sure I'll be busy with this game for weeks at least.
Overall, I think it's this is a game worth the investment, especially if this would be your first jump into the world of Yo-Kai. Everything will feel fresh and there is plenty to do. Plus, if you happen to fall in love with one of the Yo-Kai he can be there to tag along with you on this lovable little journey. ^^

Re: Video: Latest Pokémon Sun And Moon 'Train On' Featurette Tests The Limits Of Friendship

Desa

Probably sorry for being a sore loser of sorts at the beginning of the video i think. Losing happens. But he brushed off his friends for a while because of his losses (and his friend's gloating I believe). Basically I figure they are both apologizing to each other because one was gloating and the other avoided his friends. The trading of this 'shooting star' helped them make amends.

Re: Nintendo Download: 3rd March (North America)

@bobafett4ever
Well, there is that exclusive new dungeon and weapon too. It might excite the more die-hard Zelda fan along with the amiibo that comes with it. Or maybe they didn't finish it all the way and their old disk is broken from an accident involving their younger sister. At least mine was. Lol But it is a rebooted Zelda game at the core. Its bound to move copies regardless by name alone.
But at least it's not a super deluxe edition releasing one year after the initial one did. I can't really stand those. :/

Re: BOXBOY! is Getting a Sequel

Desa

I loved Boxboy. And I would love to see a sequel. It did play things safe, but it had a simplistic charm I most definitely wouldn't mind trying again. It was fun. Plus, I like what I see a for the sequel lready. lol

Re: Accusations of Plagiarism Directed at Popular Super Mario Maker Level Creator

Desa

How am I supposed to move up in the community when users like that one recreate my level nearly down to the T with slight differences? That's right I won't. If someone did happen to stumble onto mine I'd be labeled the copier or doing something they played before because it feels of so similar. This sort of thing is never fair to the original creator no matter the medium in which it takes place. The love and hard work someone could have potentially put into something, rather large or small, should be treated with at least a little recognition, geez.

Re: Fire Emblem Fates Releases In North America On 19th February, Special Triple Edition Also Confirmed

Desa

For those complaining about the price. If you ever bought 2 Pokemon games that are pretty much the same except for a few Pokemon here and there then that's being a hypocrite.

I don't condone the price point. I don't see how one could be mad over having more content thrown in claiming it's too casual. But at the very least the routes given are different in each version of the game. Much more so than Pokemon which so many buy both copies to.

Getting 3 games for the same price is better than paying for the same game, no?

Re: Review: Attack on Titan: Humanity in Chains (3DS)

Desa

I agree @thedillon23 completely. Lack of sales until a discount just proves to the localizers that anime based games don't have a place here in America. I'm not a huge fan of the series, but I will buy this game to offer my support. I hate seeing some other anime games miss out on localization, but hey support what they release and hope from the positive they release more here, or forget about it all together and import I suppose. xD

Re: High Strangeness is Out Now on Wii U in North America and is, Well, Strange

Desa

@burninmylight
Ah, I guess that didn't come out quite as I intended. x.x
I'm really not trying to come off as chastising, but I've seen perfectly fun, decent games get passed over because of the overall review score average. Not even super bad scores mind, as I do think some games can be broken and beyond playable live 3s, 4s, and 5s seem to mean, but most times nowadays reviews seem more bias towards popular games. And I say this because in a review for an overhyped game they will say 'it lagged often' but it'll get a 8/9. Different game, more obscure developer and they score a 6/7 and that same issue is it's only flaw. I just don't think an overall buying decision should be based off of reviews. If you want to make sure the game isn't broken ok, but people treat reviews like something holy that should be followed and I think when that happens the community misses out on some great games, even if they aren't perfect A+ titles.

Heck, I'm not saying buy the game blind or anything like that. But as long as it's not broken I do think trying different forms of games is a good thing, not because of some review from a singular person who has their own play style and likes, but because it's a game and that's what they are there for. Gaming should be about fun. Not all, but most developers put their hearts into it.

Again, I wasn't trying to be mean. I love reading reviews, especially from here, and seeing if a game is up my alley. My frustrations come when a game scores lower than a certain number, people choose not to even try it which I think can potentially be a loss, and why so many developers choose to be so repetitive when developing games. They stick with what the people want, and the people say new and upcoming games that don't score an 8 or above go on the very back of their list.

Re: Treyarch Isn't Working on Call of Duty: Black Ops III For Wii U, Though Activision is Noncommittal

Desa

Meh, the reason 3rd parties do terribly is because they port the wii u version months after initial release. Release a game at the same time, with the same dlc and other goods, and we'll see what happens, but 3rd parties rarely if ever, treat the wii u the same way they do the other platforms. It's not a Nintendo owners fault they don't want to be screwed over by 3rd parties.
