Re: Poll: The Nintendo NX - Where Do You Stand on the Future of Nintendo?

@rjejr damn fun system.

and, if the NX doesn't work out, the WiiU will be to Nintendo what the 7800 was to atari before our inevitable Jaguar. Any who, it's a damn fun system.
Check out the No Swear gamer. He has a great Game by Game 7800 podcast (http://www.gamebygamepodcast.com on there along with a really informative 2600 podcast run by one of the nicest guys to ever run one). Great insight for collecting again. Makes me with I had my old one.

Get dig dug. while the Famicom/NES Port is fantastic, the 7800's may be my favorite.

Re: Poll: The Nintendo NX - Where Do You Stand on the Future of Nintendo?

I'm a bit skeptical if only because being underpowered pretty much ensures that we dont get a bulk of the other great third party games that other systems do get (like with the wii and wii u).

That being said, I've owned every nintendo handheld console (unless you count the Virtual Boy) and, if I consider it just that, a handheld, I'll get it.

For what it's worth though, I am not a fan of the detachable things on the side. I have big hands and I'm often stronger than I realize (not boasting at all with that). I really have to show restrain as I've worn out some shoulder buttons in the past by pressing too hard.

I can only imagine what I'd do to this thing if they're detachable (not to mention if they're build for children's hands, which I imagine they are as Nintendo doesnt seem keen on its older players too much these days).

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo NX Deal Is A Vindication Of Nvidia's Shield Program

Is this going to make it more difficult to port over other games from other systems if it's as powered or underpowered as it is?

Essentially, I'd love to not miss out on titles like the Witcher III or Dark Souls III or Overwatch. I feel like going underpowered again (which the digital foundry video implies until the end where they suggest the possibility of another chip) will ensure another drought from big 3rd party releases.

Re: North Americans Get Two New Kirby Games on Wii U VC This Week

Epic yarn is incredible and great with Co-Op.

Mass Attack is fantastic but be warned that stylus play after a while starts to get daunting even when the game remains super fun.

Both are very good. The only thing that upsets me is that I own both of them already so I've got nothing to look forward to in this release.

@bmjy1000 that dude got to hang out with M and the guys. He can say he's unbiased but I'm not totally sure I buy it.
And I liked his enthusiasm. But even when you watch him playing the game looking at the game pad then the TV you should know it's just not right.
Switching views can be okay, but I think choosing a fast paced action title is the wrong genre to do that with.

Re: Shigeru Miyamoto Thinks You Should Give Star Fox Zero Another Try

So this thread inspired me to put the game back in.
Havent gotten past Sector Y (With the missiles and drones attaching themselves to the great fox) and it was here, I remembered, that the game made me feel completely disempowered with its controls.
I cant turn fast enough with any kind of accuracy to get to anything in time and it feels like my legs are been kicked out from under me constantly.
And I, for what it's worth, remember starting off the game really high on it. I thought it was polished looking and too ambitious for its own good.
Now that I'm here I'm reminded why I stopped playing.

Back to Xenoblade or Tokyo Mirage for me, I guess.

Re: Feature: The Biggest Wii U and 3DS Games of 2016 - Summer Edition

D_e_A_c_T

Lol like No big wii u titles.
I tried Paper Jam with an open mind. It wasnt awful just boring. I cant imagine playing the same sort of game on my TV so color splash is down in excitement.
Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocalypse and Dragon Quest are the only two I really want.

I've said it before but it's a real shame they're giving next to nothing to WiiU owners all season.

Re: Shigeru Miyamoto Thinks You Should Give Star Fox Zero Another Try

I should add that while couch co-op might be fun, my boyfriend gets terribly motion sick so I cant even play MK8 with him.

between that, the shooting for younger players (regaining them) as a focus and seeking out the casual market that the wii had (all before tablets and smart phones), I worry about their direction.

I also wonder how they took so damn long on a game and had it come out like this.

Thankfully I'm not banking on Zelda. My favorite IP is Kirby and they've never really screwed that up. Knock wood.

"Games are becoming more of a consumable product, and it's getting harder and harder for people to let a game to sink in and enjoy leisurely."

It's funny he'd say this because if he's aware of that he would've definitely made more accessible controls for SFZ. The more I play SFZ, the less fun the controls get. I 'get' them, but they dont click and make the game more fun. Which is sad. I started of pretty positive but as the challenge ramped up the potential of the title felt held back by me getting pissed at controlling.

And I'm not a long term SF fan (SFZ is actually my first Star Fox game somehow), but I can easily see why many fans would feel upset that it was basically a reboot of 64's story and didn't offer all that much that was new.

I can also see why online multiplayer would be an obvious missed opportunity.
I think you guys shot a little high with 8/10

Re: Fans Create Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Patch Which Uncensors Western Censorship

D_e_A_c_T

@ejamer I completely agree.

I guess what I was saying is this. Censorship when it's from the Government is bad.
From private companies isn't necessarily good, but I think the argument side is lacking a sense of self awareness. What they're arguing about, when you strip it down to bare bones, is that they want scantily clad teenage characters in their game and it's ruined for them if it's not there. I'm not necessarily saying that's the people here on nintendolife's contention, but it's what shows up in a lot of other places online and it's a terrible hill to die on.

Re: Fans Create Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Patch Which Uncensors Western Censorship

D_e_A_c_T

@ejamer Look, there are Atari Jaguar fan podcasts (the game by game one is fantastic) which means that Niche titles and consoles will definitely be looked back on. It may seem weird but it'll be retro or whatever.

Anyway, I stand behind what I said. The censorship has in no way effected the gameplay and I think once the "censorship" critics mature a bit they'll see just how weird and gross it made them look at times.

Re: Fans Create Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Patch Which Uncensors Western Censorship

D_e_A_c_T

In 30 years people will look back on the 'censorship crowd' and see nothing but a bunch of petulant whiny creeps.

Ive said it before, were this the government censoring things I'd be up in arms. But it's a private corporation. It's their prerogative.

Sure, they're petty, but I'm almost 30 and I'm a-okay with a game covering up skimiply dressed characters who were supposed to be younger than 18.

And you should be too.

Re: Anniversary: Sonic the Hedgehog is Now 25 Years Old

D_e_A_c_T

I should pick up lost world. Ill probably like it. Still, they'll never reach the heights they did on CD for me again.
Sonic CD is probably my favorite. Though 3&K and Generations are both excellent as well (and 2 and the 1st one and, while I hate the controls, there's definitely a charm to adventure)

Re: Review: Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE (Wii U)

D_e_A_c_T

so happy to see this universally knocking it out of the park review wise.
this will be, for some sadly I'm sure, the last truly excellent game that's exclusive to the Wii U (I have a hard time believing color splash will be as good as this, or good at all)

Re: Review: Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE (Wii U)

D_e_A_c_T

Already preordered. Excited for it. Hell it was the only WiiU game of 2016 that I was really looking forward to.
Little upset there's no offscreen play. Otherwise, I'm really stoked to get my hands on this.
the Wii U has been awful when it comes to RPGs so this will definitely be nice.
