Teddy Together is out in Europe on the 3DS later this week, so we thought we'd share this charming trailer with you from Nintendo UK.
The game originally started life as a game called Kuma Tomo in Japan and was developed by Bandai Namco and Arika. As you have probably guessed from the title, this is a child-orientated game about taking care of and teaching a living teddy bear.
In the game players can bathe, dress, feed, play with, and teach Teddy. The more time you spend with your fluffy friend, the more they will want to know about you. Interacting with Teddy, or tapping an amiibo to the screen, will give coins that can be spent on clothing and accessories to customize the bear. It all sounds like hours of fun.
If you're in the market for a cute and cuddly game, this could be worth picking up when it hits the 3DS later this week.

Yup, Tomodachi Life of Teddy Bear. Too bad, we can't get that for USA version yet. That trailer is kinda temptating for whoever can't play this on USA version.
@Anti-Matter More like Nintendbears
I thought it had a darker tone to it. Wasn't there supposed to be blood and blackmail?
I played the demo and I couldn't stand its stupid, stupid voice. The text-to-speech dialogue was charming and endearing in Tomodachi Life, but it doesn't work here at all as the choice of tone, speed and accent makes it sound more creepy than cute (as if the bear has had a lobotomy). Considering that it sounds as if they've recycled the same text-to-speech mechanism from Tomodachi Life, and knowing very well that cuter voices are in fact possible with the software, I'm disappointed that they would settle for this.
@sillygostly
Hopefully USA version got better voice tone.
@MGray I think in the Japanese version, it's a bit weirder. I'd imagine this has been heavily rewritten.
@sillygostly yes, it sounds terrible.
@Anti-Matter um, there is no usa version as of now.
Kuma-Tomo voices :
Japan = super annoying. The accent was duh....
PAL = heavier tone. Sounds like not hyped voice.
My opinion so far.
Looks cute, shame there is no US version for now or I'd keep an eye for it
My daughter would love this game. Too bad it's not out in NA.
If it ever comes out in NA, I may give it a shot.
It's not in NA?!?
This looks so cute!
Soooooo cute! Whoever isn't tempted to buy this has no soul 🐻
I'm upset tho that curly (my teddy on demo version) can't transfer to the full version. But I love it haha
@Toadsfriend ...I guess I have no soul, then.
Seriously, what's with that bear's voice?
@Ralizah same here
Dear Nintendo: Please bring this at least to the eShop in North America. @Barbiegurl777 has been waiting patiently, and at this point, it would be nice to see her get it.
@Barbiegurl777 Still crossing my fingers for it to come to America! And it will, just not right now I guess... Nintendo obviously does not like easy money!
I love everything in this game except the voice!!! It's terrible! Even worse than Japanese version.
@Barbiegurl777
1) Online petitions aimed at Nintendo are about as effective as a punch from a teddy bear
2) I'm pretty sure most 3DS owners don't care about Teddy Together
That's adorable.
I really wish we could get this in North America but as usual, Nintendo doesn't care about the 400 million or so people on this continent.
Ugh I bet it's censored am I right guys?
.......................slowly goes back to Monster Hunter, lol
@Barbiegurl777 Huh, didn't realize you were most 3DS owners.
@Mega_Yarn_Poochy and you are?!
Boy my daughter has 11 demo shots left, and this game is going to be 40€!
Why should I care???
@Kiyata He's right. Most people that actually use their 3DSes play either first party games or weebcrap. Not stuffed bear simulators. Just saying.
@televisions claps
His voice is SCARY! Also, where's the USA version?!
Just hope that he won't get nectar cravings like Sunshine from Chibi-Robo.
Looks awful enough that I almost want it to not come to NA even though it'd mean nothing if it did since I would ignore it.
@hoshinosammy in your world, or the real world? A lot of gamers on HERE have the narrow minded idea that "real gamers" only play RPGs and shooting games, perhaps a few platformers as well. But if these gamers had the business perspective (aka reality), they would see that the sales figures tell a different story. JUST SAYING!
Next gen tomogachi. I can see it, since there has been moderate success with Nintendogs, Cats, Hamsters, Horses and I think a zoo one. Heh, I'm kinda surprised.
Also Teddy, keep your questions to yourself!
@Kiyata there are approximately 528.7 million people on this continent as of 2008 but only 60 million own a nintendo 3ds and i highly highly doubt this game is going to get many people to buy a 3ds. Not because of the quality of the game but because of brand power which this game doesnt really have any of. Brand power is why that frozen nintendo DS game sold so well even though this site gave it a 4/10 . Its why licensed games sell so well. I dont doubt that this game would be bought if it was released here but i dont think that it would make back the money they paid to bring it over. It also doesnt help that 3DS sales are in a decline due to the system being 6 years old. @Mega_Yarn_Poochy isnt trying to be mean. He(or she) is simply being realistic.
Looks charming, almost like a new Hey You, Pikachu! or perhaps Nintendogs. It looks more interactive than Tomodachi Life, but whether or not kicking with Teddy is more entertaining than collecting and pampering your friends remains to be seen.
Am I the only one that used naughty words in the demo?! It surprised me I got away with it, since its published by Nintendo!
But seriously, its a cute little game for little children. No harm in that!
I'm a little bit concerned with the fact that this is supposed to be in part a way for young children to improve their speech; the delivery is pretty accurate and sounds are fairly good, but there's no hint of intonation which is frankly the bee's knees in terms of language development.
@At_Lazuli I never implied that anyone would need to buy a 3ds just to play this game. Plenty of people already own a 3ds and want this game (scroll up and read other comments for a small sampling of those eager gamers). Also, this game does indeed have "brand power" because it's published by Nintendo. They can promote games better than any 3rd party. And this game has an enormous following worldwide because it's been a Japanese favorite for years.
@AlexOlney
I heard the Japanese version have some intonation despite of annoying voice tone. When i heard the English voice, it sounds less intonation. Kinda like robot.
I downloaded the demo purely out of curiosity. Whilst I am far beyond the target audience I found it to be very polished and can see this being a hit with the younger 3DS owners.
@Mega_Yarn_Poochy Actually, I'm sure there are many parents that would buy this game for their children with 3DSs, and people who just like cute 3DS games would also be interested. It wouldn't sell gangbusters, but it would sell decently.
For a game that's already translated to English and what is most like going to be digital-only, it would be so easy to bring it to America.
@Barbiegurl777 I agree with you 100%!
@Barbiegurl777 That is why @hoshinosammy said most
@Barbiegurl777 You're fluent in french? Wow impressive!!
I'm fluent in English and Danish
@Anti-Matter if there will be USA version you will get the same Mii accent as in your US Tomodachi Life. Europe has the English voices with british accent.
@Barbiegurl777 I would recommend patience - there is a chance that they may release the game several months later - in 2017 perhaps? But if you really want to play the game, then I heard Homebrew Launcher had an app that is allowing to play games from different regions - that would mean you just need an original PAL game. That will require to install a hax tho, not sure if you can do it now, after the update.
@AlexOlney That's just marketing. There's a better part: they are advertising it the same way in my country. Problem: the game isn't in my language I'm not even sure if the young kids will be able to learn the proper English spelling with this speech synch: they will just tap random things and memorize what does what, and maybe learn a foregin word or two. I'm positive that watching English cartoons will do more good for them and that's a pity because the game is totally missing the point of being released here. With the multilanguage Europe, USA seems to be a better choice.
@ROBLOGNICK Yep, probly a watered down version. I was thinking about buying it if the price was right, but now my interest is gone.
@KTT
So, if USA version available it will sound different ?
Anyway, thanks for sharing your experience about English version of Kuma-Tomo. Well, i'll compare again with Japan version for daily chores that i can do. Yeah, i know. Teddy kinda chatterbox, must hear his/her speech until finished.
@Anti-Matter According to various topics on the internet, Tomodachi Life's English accent differs between US/EU. If Teddy uses the same speech sync as Tomodachi life, I judge from this, that your Teddy would have different accent than mine.
@Barbiegurl777 Aww. Well, the last, final, option is finding someone with a hacked console and ask them to do it for you or purchase already low firmware 3DS with the hax installed. I think it's better than buying and importing a foregin system just for one game. The shipping will cost you too, you know.
But if you have more European games you would like to play (I recall you wanted a Hello Kitty game?), and if you do have the money, then it may be indeed better to import the system.
@Barbiegurl777 Yeah I have autism myself, so I know how hard it can be to learn new languages! And have patience with things that are out of my control (Hurry it up, Nintendo of America...)
I'm rooting for ya!
