Today is Amazon Prime Day 2016, in which the retail giant tries to tempt those that are part of that membership with tasty deals. From a Nintendo perspective it's a short line-up, but there could be some enticing deals in the US - if you're in the UK, sadly there's nothing there for big N fans. As a result we've also picked some extras, like gaming headsets and neat Blu-Rays.
We've compiled the Nintendo deals below - you have to be a Prime member, and the deals go live at specific times. Details are below, and if you need to sign up for Prime (even on a 30-day trial just to get the deals) follow the links on this page. To see the go-live times for yourself, meanwhile, go here.
If you've got a PS4 then you might want to check out the deals compiled by our sister site Push Square, there's a bunch of cheap games such as Grand Theft Auto V, Fallout 4 and Mirror's Edge: Catalyst.
We will continue to update this list as new deals appear and prices are confirmed.

This is neither quality nor quantity
There's really not as much on sale as I expected. Nonetheless, there are some pretty good deals aside from Nintendo and I'm interested to see how low in price Final Fantasy Explorers goes.
Now you will be able to buy a Wii U for the amazing price of 280 euros. Get them while its hot.
The US stuff is okay, but the UK stuff is appaling, there's basically nothing. Hopefully some more stuff will appear later, otherwise this'll be very disappointing.
@teamshortcut yeah, more deals will be announced throughout the day... but it's looking very, very thin for Nintendo products!
No Nintendo related deals here in Italy too, but I am on the verge of buying a PS4/Xbone. It would be the first non-Nintendo console of my life. Should I jump the shark?
World Ends With You on the DS ... deal starts at 10:55 PM I believe
@hepgius go for it. Go for PlayStation 4. Sony consoles have a long life span
@Ikramali Only PS2 had a long life span and only because the price dropped harshly when the 3 was released (and it was absurdly expensive). People kept buying tons of PS2 games, and thanks to the huge user base they kept making them.
PS3 is already dead.
I kinda like the PS4 exclusives more, compared to XBOne's ones, also because I'm a Japanese student and I could use the PS4 as an excellent weebo machine, but man I feel like betraying my country in getting a PS4.
I'm kinda more drown to the XBOne excellent smart tv capabilities, though.
Well my problem is that I don't have anything to play, I'd like playing something in Japanese to practice and I want a Smart TV. The PS4 should suffice at least 2 of these point, but I could just very well pick up #FE to pass time on my Wii U, a Vita to use as a weebo machine and an Apple TV. It should be the same money.
Gotta have games for them to be on sale.
Also, "and neat Blu-Rays" that you can't even watch in your Wii U drive!
Ugh.
I had a look first thing after midnight for Wii U deals on Amazon.co.uk and there was nothing and they've nothing planned either. Then checked 3DS. Nothing. So then I typed in just Nintendo. Absolutely nothing.
@hepgius Why would you be betraying your country by buying a PS4? If anything, buying an XBone is.
@OorWullie Because PlayStation is the main culprit in the establishment of the toxic western gaming culture. Meanwhile I've got nothing against Microsoft, I actually like Satya Nadella a lot and I think that among the Big3 of tech (Google, Apple, Microsoft) he is the only one with a clear plan of where he wants Microsoft to be in 10 years, and I quite like that plan.
As usual the UK is shafted
This is worse than when Nintendo has a sale...
Every year, people make a big deal out of Prime day; every year I have no idea why. There are routinely better deals on pretty much everything pretty much every day. The 20% off on Warehouse items, however, ain't too bad.
@LegendOfPokemon Woah! Woah! Woah! Let's not say things that we later regret. Nah, you're right, it is worse. There's not even 1 deal.
Wow even worse than i thought. A whopping 3 euros off Just Dance 2016. Gotta wring that Nintendo audience for every penny they got.
@hepgius Not like the Xbox One is made in America, either.
Can't say I particularly like any of the big 3. Google is involved in surveillance state and has too close of ties to government forces, Apple has a hilarious habit of trying to proclaim they have such great security that they're "ahead of the hackers", and Microsoft is the epitome of a ruthlessly anticompetitive company. Well, at least Microsoft has a decent refurbisher program, so that redeems them a bit...
I like Win7 as a standalone OS a lot, don't like Win10 and it's OS propagation. With the way they set up accounts, no reason to buy an Xbox any more, just get a Win10 gaming PC. A cannibalistic move, if you ask me.
Nope.
I may pick up an additional WiiU gamepad if the price is appealing.
maybe the FF games
maybe.
I just got a PS2 and I've ordered a bunch for that as well.
you missed 'The World Ends With You' by the way.
Well I was thinking about Final Fantasy Explorers but I checked Best Buy and for Gamers Club it's 19.19 on clearance. I want the game eventually so now seems like as good as any.
this is not even gaming news. this is just shameless advertisement for amazon.
BLAH, that was easy, dont have to waste time going on Amazon today...
@6ch6ris6 you dont like hearing about gaming deals?
Side note: How long have we been able to buy a Gamepad only on Amazon? I missed that - I thought the Gamepad was only sold separately in Japan.
Well, if there's somehow still someone out there who hasn't played it, I would recommend Final Fantasy IV for the DS. It's a slightly easier, but still good version of a classic!
And of course, The World Ends With You is a modern classic that stands the test of time, and actually pulled off asynchronous multiple screen gameplay well long before the Wii U tried it.
@Zanark Pfffft, it should be 200 by now.
I bought a brand new Gamepad directly from Nintendo for about $110 back in January. You're better off getting one directly from the Big N. Lie if ya gotta.
Not seeing this so called "quality" that supposedly arises from the lack of quantity. Guess Amazon just doesn't like Nintendo related stuff.
Picking up Lego Dimensions for $49.99 for Wii U. not part of the Prime Day deal, and it has been that cheap before, but since we now know there won't be a LD 2, just more packs, figured it's time to pick up the game. (I was going to buy it on PS4 but I don't know when I'll have 2 DS4 controllers, much less 4 now that the game has 4 players. We have several Wii U control options.)
Oh, I'm also picking up a couple more things (PC monitor and binoculars) to get $30 off $150 w/ my Amazon Visa card even though I'm not a Prime member. about 20% off is always nice, so it kind of makes the game $40 for us, my kids are each paying $20. They own 6 packs and will finally be able to use them.
I'll check in later if I find anything else Ntineod related.
Not much
The World Ends With You, was on sale for about $11, but sold out faster than anything else today! Dammit...might put myself on the wait list see if it pops up later...
@RoomB31 there are almost no deals on nintendo stuff. and they even included blurays and what not.
if nintendolife wants to promote deals on games then we would have at least 5 "news" every day on some stupid deal on some random website
@6ch6ris6 I agree, but I wouldnt be against an article devoted (1 a day or week) to all deals currently available, even if there isnt much
"Quality over Quantity?"
No, it's just a really lame sale for subscribers. As a non-subscriber, I am pleased.
@hepgius I still have my ps1.2 and 3 wii u has great games I love it but played a lot of playstation
$280 for a Wii U bundle is pretty bad. Black Friday last year had a better bundle for $250. Also, the New 3DS XL has been on sale before for $175. Just get a refurbished one for $170 from Nintendo.
In other news, if you want a decent smartphone for Pokémon GO but don't need AR mode right now, the Huawei Honor 5X is $120 (an $80 discount). It doesn't have gyro, though, so AR mode won't work, but I imagine Niantic will update the app at some point with a fix using the accelerometer and compass.
@MetaRyan I wouldn't advice getting refurbs when it comes to Nintendo 3DS. I've bought 5 refurbished (pink 3DS, blue Smash Bros, red Smash Bros, red 2DS, black cosmo 3DS) so far and 3 of them had problems within the first year, compared to 22 I bought new and used, with only one, the most used one, by the way, died on me a couple of months ago (a blue 3DS XL).
I picked it up when it came out, but Deadpool on blu-ray for £8.99 is worth anyone's money. Otherwise, a load of bobbins that hasn't convinced me to sign up for Prime. If I didn't already have a ps4 I'd have been tempted though. Some good bundles on those bad boys.
@hepgius "Because PlayStation is the main culprit in the establishment of the toxic western gaming culture."
And that's where we all stopped reading.
"Quality rather than quantity?"
Go back to journalism school.... you seem to be missing some ethics, but perhaps Nintendolife is located in Pyongyang?
Why you even publish this garbage?
@maceng I guess you're right - with 27(!) 3DS system purchases, you'd know better than me.
I went to Best Buy and had them price match Rodea the Sky Solider ($19) and Snoopy's Grand Adventure ($10, for my 3 year old son).
I almost picked up Final Fantasy Explorers, but MH Generations is coming out Friday, and well, yeah.
