Power creep has stopped me from participating in battles in this game. These mega cards just exacerbate that. I miss the days when I could win with a deck using no EX cards. The art is nice at least.
@Lizuka completely agree. And I consider myself a pretty big Fire Emblem fan. I'm not sure the more "interesting" characters could carry such a bland game. I found it hard to care about any of the characters, but my party was made up of the more normal looking ones.
I'm happy for this to be safe. Take me back to the good days of Pokemon when there was actual exploration and there was some sense of mystery. I guess I'm jaded by the recent Pokemon games, which were just linear paths with the one "open area" that was quite barren.
So can I turn on my switch with it? I love my SF30 pro, but I hate the janky way you have to sync it to the system every time (hold start + Y until it blinks, then hit select) and I have to use my pro controller to turn on the switch.
@Gelantious @FelixTheMagician You can upgrade as many items as you want using the Great Fairy, as long as you have the necessary materials to do so. In my experience, the first fairy only upgrades items by one level. So far I've upgraded two full armor sets by one level and I've only reached the first fairy.
This is great news after Awakening being the potentially final game in the series. It's really great to see this series getting some recognition. I look forward to future releases!
@readyletsgo The first one is a pretty good game. It's really enjoyable, but just a little repetitive after playing for 20+ hours. It's not a scary RPG like you're thinking. The strategy elements are light and the combat is fun and easy. I would definitely recommend checking it out, especially since it's probably cheap these days.
@MIDP @TJF588 Yeah I'm in the same boat as you guys... Trying to make out a Pikachu from that garbage but no matter how hard I squint I just can't see it.
So just for clarification, when you download this new DLC, the old DLC doesn't go away, does it? I think that's how it worked in past MH games with the event quests.
@Prime Wow, alright. My comment really didn't have much to do with the article, just that he loves to crap on literally everything on this site.
We clearly all know that the Wii U isn't selling that well, so when we hear news of something like "fastest selling Wii U game," we get a little excited. Hate us. Nintendo clearly recognizes that they still have a ways to go as they said "there's still a lot of work left to do." We can celebrate small victories. I hate seeing constant negativity in general, not just when it comes to Nintendo.
Also, even if Nintendo isn't selling very many consoles, who cares? I'm enjoying the hell out of my Wii U and 3DS, regardless of whether anyone else is. You mentioned the Gamecube era. Some of the best games of all time are on Gamecube, and it's one of my favorite consoles. So it didn't sell; who cares, I had fun.
Nintendo is an entertainment company. They are entertaining me. I personally don't find it entertaining to mope around regarding sales numbers. I will continue to enjoy their products so long as they keep pumping them out at such a high quality.
@citizenerased Lego City Undercover is an open world game, and an excellent one at that. I like to think of it as a funnier, less abrasive GTA. Check it out.
Friggin GameStop. I swear that company is run by the devil himself. I will do anything in my power not to get this from GameStop, but I still need it...
@Kirk Still using YouTube videos as a way to prove your point...and you're comparing apples and oranges. Clearly TP (a late GameCube game with and extremely detailed style will look better than an early 3DS game with a simpler style. I'm done arguing with the BS comparisons. Mark my words, MM3D will look great. Go ahead and spend 3 years making a game and tell me you're only going to charge $5. I bet you'll make back your entire investment...
@Kirk You really should stop talking. Go play OoT3D and tell me it doesn't look like Gamecube quality graphics. I could continue to give you examples of games that look terrible on YouTube but great on the 3DS, but I don't want to beat a dead horse.
Also, Aonuma just posted on Miiverse recently that they have been developing this game since 2011. That's 3 years of development time... This is absolutely a rebuild. I don't think you understand what it takes to make games, and you should take your uninformed opinion somewhere else.
This is a site for Nintendo enthusiasts. People are excited about this game and you just keep attempting to deflate that excitement. Leave it be.
@Kirk I don't think you really understand. YouTube videos are compressed and will never look as good as their original media. The 3DS screen also objectively makes games look better when the 3D is turned on, as it effectively doubles the number of pixels in the width of the screen. I know a lot of people don't play with the 3D on, but I do, if only for this reason.
Also, I don't think it's fair to compare something as detailed as MM3D to something like 3D Land or Kirby, which have a much simpler graphical style (I honestly don't even think Kirby looks great in YouTube videos. Those pixels look terrible on a normal monitor.).
Have you played Ocarina of Time 3D? That game looks terrific on the 3DS. MM3D is the same style (same engine, after all). I honestly don't think you can make a judgement on the graphics until you play the game on the device it's intended to be played on. Look up OoT3D on YouTube. It looks pretty bad.
Anyway, if you're not going to play this game because you think it's ugly, that's fine. Nintendo will get plenty of sales without your one. I think it's great that they are remaking it, as this is the only Zelda game I haven't played, and I've heard great things.
@Kirk It's a well known fact that 3DS screenshots/videos look terrible if they are not on the actual 3DS. Look at MH4. Look at Ocarina of Time 3D. That game looks great on the 3DS. While I agree that MM3D looks pretty bad judging from that Nintendo Direct, I'm quite confident it will look great in it's final form. I was personally watching the ND from my Wii U, and it's clear that these 3DS games were not meant for the big screen. Look at Code Name S.T.E.A.M. It looks terrible in the Nintendo Direct.
ZombiU is a criminally underrated game. I got it for the bargain of $15 and was expecting not to like it all that much, but I played it from start to finish and thoroughly enjoyed myself. Highly recommended.
I'm not a big fan of the whole mega evolution craze. I feel like these Pokemon just become OP when they mega evolve. Of course, this is coming from a guy who builds teams based on those he thinks are cool, regardless of stats.
I remember seeing him in his spot outside the Nintendo World Store about a month before the Wii U came out. Just seemed like a guy enthusiastic about Nintendo. Then I read a news story a couple weeks later saying how he was waiting in line for the Wii U. I was amazed.
@PrincessEevee9 Are you serious?! 7 is leagues better than Wii in my opinion. The rubber band AI in the Wii one is atrocious. 7 at least lets you keep a lead.

IIRC, the armor from that pic is in the game, just not the weapon. If the armor isn't in the game, something very similar is.
