The main question here is did he also give each kid five games to go along with the switch. Because a switch by itself is pretty useless. If he didn't, then that falls on the parents to supply games for it. Which they might not be able to afford.

@victordamazio And this is why you buy a chinese handheld for emulation purposes. Seriously. The Retroid Pocket 2 handles nes, snes, sega genesis, gameboy color, gameboy advance, sega gamegear, and even PS1. All for $100 bucks.

The upcoming Odin Pro is a more powerful device. It'll be able to handle N64, GameCube, Wii, PS2, Dreamcast, Saturn, PSP.

Because of this, I don't care what Nintendo puts on their lame overpriced nso service.

Why couldn't Nintendo invest in them instead? Would have been so much better. Nintendo needs another Rare.

I bought the physical switch version last year for $20. Now I have to buy all the dlc before it's too late.

Wouldn't an N64 mini/classic make more sense? I'd buy that for $120 with 25 games packed in.

@Moistnado Nintendo had the chance to do that on the Wii u. Hackers have shown that the Wii u is 100% capable of playing GameCube games. But of course Nintendo didn't do anything with this. And yes I do have a modded Wii u fully loaded up with GameCube games. It was an amazing system.

Oh great. More games that no one has ever heard of before. Why do they do this? Where are third party games like mighty morphin power rangers, teenage mutant Ninja turtles 4 turtles in Time, aladdin, the lion king, Battletoads and double dragon the ultimate team, mighty morphin power rangers the movie, mighty morphin power rangers the fighting edition, home alone 2 lost in New York?

This is the Zelda game that I wish we had gotten instead of breath of the wild. A gorgeous realistic looking Zelda adventure. Sadly I don't think we'll ever get this.

I want this, but why couldn't we get sonic generations too? Sonic generations was never released on a Nintendo system. It could have easily been ported to the Wii U. But Sega choose to screw Nintendo with that one.

When I first read the topic, I thought this was going to be a physical switch release for $30 bucks. But after reading the article I am extremely disappointed. I actually do have a Sega Genesis. But I'm not digging out of my basement, when it might not even work anymore. Also, $70!?? Really? Are they nuts? Only the most die-hard megaman fanboys would get this. And finally I've actually played the rom of the game several times over. Maybe if I hadn't I'd be tempted to get this. But no. Just no.

How would this work though? Nintendo owns the development studio for these games (monolith soft). But bandai namco owns the IP. So if a sequel were to happen, BN would have to ask nintendo to use monolith. Which means it would be switch exclusive?

@karatekid1612 Yes I got a wii u pro controller. A white one. It's really nice. The battery is amazing. I really wanted an extra, but never got around to getting a second one.

I bought a wii U at launch. It's still connected to my television. I love it. But it's mostly just an emulation box now. I really wish that they had made the gamepad smaller.

Not including sonic generations on PS3 is a travesty. It probably would have came in first. It's definitely better than sonic adventure 1 and 2.

My regular switch stays docked. My switch lite stays plugged into the wall outlet, and sits on my dresser when I'm not using it.

I'm waiting for a price drop or a sale. This game has been out for a year and it's still $60. Nintendo never lowers the price for their published games.

I just ordered a nintendo switch lite last week from target.com. It got here in two days. So I'm assuming this shortage is for regular nintendo switch (which I also have btw). So basically anyone who wants a switch for christmas, should buy it during the summer. And if you don't have the money for it, use your stimulus check.

And this is why people hack their systems. To gain normal features that should have been included from the get go. Nobody wants to spend 100 hours in a game, with no control over your save file.

Umm $10 off isn't what I would call a "significant" savings. Two weeks ago I bought kingdom hearts 3 from amazon for $30. That's half off. Now that was a significant savings. But of course Nintendo never lowers the prices on their first party games. And never puts them on sale except for black friday. I refuse to pay $60 for a game.

Why is virtual console still a thing? It's 2018. All you need is a Nvidia shield tv gaming edition or a gpd xd plus. Then grab some emulators. You have access to any nes, snes, N64, gameboy, gba, gamecube, nds, game you want.

I'm worried. The new firmware 11.3 just came out today. The upcoming new 3ds xl pikachu edition comes out on February 24th. I have one preordered. But I'm worried that it'll come with the new firmware 11.3 on it. If it does, I'm screwed.

Stability my butt. The only reason we get these "updates" is to stop hackers. I know what this update did. It stopped browserhax from working. Meaning there's no way to downgrade to 9.2 in order to install custom firmware. Luckily I'm still at 10.3, and could go the custom firmware route if I wanted. I wish nintendo would stop doing this. It's not like installing custom firmware hurts their sales.
