@Captain_Gonru It actually works out pretty well for me, since somehow I missed seeing this when it came out at least it's brought to my attention now.
And I don't know what game Mr. Vogel's playing but I'm nearly done with the second area and haven't come across anything stumping me for half an hour. Maybe later. I hope they make a third game.
"But come with some unique touches. For starters, you'll have both vanguard and rearguard positions to work with in your partyard." Not sure how that's unique, I was fiddling with front and back rows over twenty years ago in Final Fantasy VI. Nonetheless, game sounds pretty fun.
Not a huge RPG player these days, but when I got to the part about seiyuus I immediately searched to find out if Hayashibara Megumi was one of them. Very disappointed that she's not; that would've turned it in to a must buy.
@mjharper @ThomasBW84 @fiben1002 Well as long as we're being Mario Party-poopers, "fungi" is also pronounced with a soft "g," so unless Toad's first name is Gus we're just not going to get the pun to work grammatically, period.
Not really to do with the article but it was mentioned tangentially so, huge pet peeve here when people refer to Snake as a Nokia game. The game's been around since 1976. I was coding my own Snake levels in visual basic in high school when no-one had cell phones--if you had a pager you were a rich kid or a drug dealer. Sure, Nokia phones put the game in the public consciousness in a way it hadn't been before, but the way people talk everyone seems to think Nokia invented the game.
Well, @Tasuki, I took your suggestion on that other thread and ordered a repro of this. Hopefully it gets here by Saturday morning; my wife has to work and a friend and I are going to play the heck out of this game if I get it by then. I keep updating my tracking notification I am so excited for this.
Does NintendoLife own stock in Hyperkin or something? All these retro import reviews are making me want to own a Retron5. I was completely satisfied with my awesome retro collection for years, and now I'm starting to think things like, how can I consider myself a true Seiken Densetsu fan if I've never played #3? Which, by the way, that one should be your next review. Was always disappointed that one never came west.
Witch and Hero 1 was pretty fun, I'll definitely pick up 2 when it goes on sale, and maybe before then. Annoyed that the only two SNES games I really want are in the last wave. Gimme my Metroid and Zelda already! Well, at least MyNintendo should be out by the time I can DL them.
I don't even care about Pokemon but I downloaded this when it came out, got addicted, and got absolutely everything in this game, got all the prizes in all the contests, all without spending anything.
TSince theny wife got me a New 3DS XL for my birthday and my save file for this game was the one thing that didn't transfer properly. No way I was going to try and get all that stuff again. It's been so nice since then, no more signing in multiple times a day just to farm Meowth. I'll stick to Pokemon Picross now for my free-to-play, license-I-don't-care-about fix. Nearly got the daily training rewards maxed on that one.
Mudds! Muddsmuddsmuddsmudds! Not gonna wait for MyNintendo to launch, want to play now. Finished 100%ing the first one again on the bus this morning, really wish I didn't have to wait another 8 hours to get home and download Super Challenge.
Wow, what a load of suck. The only reward I want is the Zelda Picross.
Unfortunately, I want it quite a lot. Dunno how I'll scrounge up 1K platinum. And @TheY, some of us avoid those apps. I've got quite a few apps on my phone, and the only one linked to my Facebook account is the Facebook app.
Man, for a moment I was like, waaat, there's physical? And then I read the disclaimer. Oh well, still getting it the moment I get home from work Thursday.
I'd get during work Thursday the moment it hits the eShop, but for some reason work has blocked my 3DS. Would've thought my cell had used far more bandwidth than the 3DS, but as I'm reading NL right now that is not the case.
I also voted for Legend of Zelda, A Link to the Past, and Wind Waker. Thought of leaving off ALttP figuring it would get enough love, kind of surprised it's got a mere ten percent of the vote right now, tied with TP and LBW.
It's pretty good overall, but the first thing I thought of when I saw the redesign was that hopefully we'd be able to see prices in the reviews on the mobile site. Instead, it appears they're not there even when I click "View Desktop Site" on my browser. . . .
@TerrapinJess The letter on the folder never bothered me until I got the Hanafuda theme, then I was like, I don't want to cover up this nice little kanji on my folders. What I do now is make the first character of every folder name a space, so try that if you have a folder you don't have a good badge for.
Eh, never was a fan of any of the Capcom Zeldas. They're playable, but they just don't feel right to me. But particularly with MC, the kinstones seemed like a wasted opportunity, the seashells/figurines were just annoying, and my god it committed the worst sin a Zelda could do: it was short.
I know, I know, first I complain the game wasn't very good, then I complain there wasn't enough of it . . .
Well, nothing for me this week, but I hope this means we'll eventually get Adventures of Lolo 3. I waited for so long for them to release it on the Wii VC and they never did . . .
In the iterations where heavyweight racers are good I main Wario, but the ones where lightweights are better I'll do Toad or Koopa (Toadette and Parakoopa in Double Dash).
I still have my Out of This World cartridge and my SNES still works (barely), so I have no excuse for never having beaten this, but maybe getting this again will be the impetus I need to finally see the credits.
@LDXD I'd say ReBirth was more of a remix than a remake. The level design wasn't based on Castlevania: the Adventure and it had elements from other games, like the keys from Rondo of Blood. But still, a very fun game, and if I'm being honest I have to say it's objectively better than C:tA.
It depresses me to see all the Castlevania: the Adventure hate in these comments. Am I the only person in the world who loves that game?
I admit that it's not very good, but it's playable. I just beat it again on my 3DS two days ago. I suppose I wouldn't like it very much if it hadn't been my very first CV game back when I was 11.
@Shugo What was the glitch with the brick-breaking physics in All-Stars? I got rid of my cart for that years ago (don't judge me; I'm not proud) but I don't remember anything being off with the bricks.
Not really going to be home much this weekend, so I'm planning on a bunch of Attack of the Friday Monsters and Etrian Odyssey IV, and maybe some Super Street Fighter IV if anyone's online.
I clicked 'nothing for me this week,' since I'm only planning on picking up the physical ALBW right after I get off work tomorrow, but the more I think about, the more I think it might be nice to have a Mega Man on my XL. Probably #3.
And for further nit-picking, Miyamoto-san is not 'arguably' one of the most famous game developers on the face of the planet; he is one of them, period.
If you want to use the A-word, you could say he is arguably the most famous game designer on the planet.
I love this game. I still have an old notebook from back in the day with all my SCIV passwords, and when I get home tonight I just might download this and punch in the password for level 1. (All my passwords are for the second playthrough so this will let me actually have a little bit of challenge from the start.) My old cart still works fine but my SNES, not so much; I can justify this download.
I, too, liked Witch and Hero. And I absolutely still love to this day Castlevania the Adventure. Sure, probably only because of nostalgia-colored glasses, but whatever.
I haven't noticed a huge increase in hits since SPRelay hit, but if this helps out and I consistently get bunches of hits a day, well, I may have to shell out for the paid StreetPass games.

Huh, this one hadn't even been on my radar, but that review is quite intriguing. Is there a demo available?

Re: Review: Ninja Usagimaru - The Mysterious Karakuri Castle (3DS eShop)
I was going to give this site flack for this review being so late, then I noticed this was a sequel. Sweet. Am downloading now. Loved the first one.
Re: Game Boy-Inspired Puzzler Warlock's Tower Coming To 3DS eShop Next Year
Hmm, I love old Gameboy games and I'm starting my new job with the United States Postal Service in a few weeks; I don't think I can skip this one.

Re: First Impressions: Looking Back With Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past
@The_Ninja Because the original PS1 game looked great, and this one doesn't. I like my 2D sprites.
Re: First Impressions: Looking Back With Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past
Ugh, I'd pick it up if it was still 2D.
