I would say Nintendo is a competitor because for people like me, I had the choice of buying myself a console a few years back and after researching the 3, I chose the Switch, mostly because of the portable aspects that suited my lifestyle and the games on offer appealed to me the most. Best decision I made at the time.

I still don't have the PS or Xbox to this day. So the point being, plenty of people in this world can only afford 1 of the 3 main consoles and so they are in the same market. Just advertised differently.

I mean if Nintendo want to go extremely environmentally friendly, my suggestion is scrap the Switch and start back up the Wii U.

Make the demand for games and the console non existent and you have yourself a winner. Very very environmentally friendly.

Might go bankrupt, but hey that helps too in this aspect.

With all these farm games coming out, I needed Nintendo to bring out a better Stable update.

I am glad this is a january slot. I have enough games to get this year lol.

Not the greatest direct, but this and zelda looks great, so at least something and pikmin we saw nothing. So no opinion on that yet.

Pokemon and mario would be great from that list but for me an even better one would be Star Wars

It's a shame Nintendo don't do Formula 1. They could give Lewis Hamilton a very stable car.

@Judal27 I honestly found Arceus a great game. I have bad eyes so graphics don't really bother me, but i found the game play loop to be the best fun ive had in any pokemon game. Defo worth checking out if you have not already seen much of it.

This looks like it could be an incredible game! My xmas present is sorted. Almost glad BOTW2 is delayed now lol! Sounds like they have made a huge effort in respecting the Hogwarts world. But also make it new and refreshing by changing the timeline, to get away with extra things, they may not have been able to otherwise.

I will get it on the switch to, as its portable. I know performance wont be as good, but i'm never to bothered by that kind of thing. Portability for lesser graphics is a good trade off for me.

@FishyS Most likely the Olympics in Tokyo helped drive interest, even if Nintendo abandoned it lol.

If done right a Legend of Zelda series has the potential to be like Game of thrones. Hopefully it happens one day

I am just going to wait a year or 2 and then pay the expansion and get everything in 1 go. Have 12 months to play everything which is plenty of time for me.

I think I read somewhere that the title gives the game away. Maybe Gannon as playable, lost his powers and as the player you get to travel hyrule and get your powers and castle back.

Other than title name don't expect more from BOTW2 news.

Hoping for Mario Strikers and a new Mario mainline game. DLC for superstars would be cool and xeno 3 hopefully

The problem is on the switch we have nothing better, no PES competition. For me now I can play my games handheld and not on TV, this is the best i will get and at its core, its a game of football. That is realistic enough. I don't need a PS or Xbox for top end graphics. Just a good old fashioned game of football in handheld and this gives it to us with the current players.

I got mine for nothing as an xmas present, but if not i would have brought it, so i am probably considered part of the problem, same as pokemon as i will be getting legends. But oh well, I just want games I enjoy and not to fussed on the politics and I get to chill and have fun and not worry about graphics or frame rates.

Maybe Niantic need more billions. These are tough times were living in and with the billionaire space race going on at the minute, I see a market for Galactic pokemon Go. Wont come cheap.

According to Wikipédia, it says Minecraft has sold 2.8 million by December 2021 world wide. In Japan alone it has sold 2.4 million by January 2022.

Knowing how popular the series is, no way these numbers add up. I like looking at the numbers and wish I knew where it lands and if it hit 10 million sales. Especially as its 3rd party on a nintendo console.

On other news so happy Superstars is doing great, love that game and hoping for some DLC in the future for it

This is going to be interesting. If it flops then GF will stick to the tried and tested formula, especially with the success of the remakes. I am really hoping this is a success and is the beginning of change for the better into the future.

Question.. Why is the Eshop broken?

For me every game i've wanted to purchase, i've easily found and paid for. I feel like i'm missing something, as I always see that claim on this site.

Not had a Mario Party since the Wii so will defo have this under the Christmas tree with GTA.

If most of them get added, for me I would get the year subscription. Not played them since I was a kid, so will be good fun to play and then maximise my year out of the service. Then downgrade to the regular one. The ACNH I can wait 6 months or longer for the expansion and I know I wont last a year playing that, so I'm good with that.

Its not a cloud service and its GTA on the switch. Sold for me.

Well.... We now know the Among Us character is officially in the cast for the new Smash Bros he has probably already started making. Or if not started, will be starting soon

My estimation is now 4-5 years development would be right on point for the next console release. He is always retiring after the next one only to never retire.

Forget the online subscription for a second. If you purchase the DLC like you would in Smash or Sword and Shield, then it is yours to keep forever. Like all other games like normal. Just do your usual stuff on the Eshop and your good to go.

The online subscription (the basic one) gives you online gaming on all nintendo switch games and you get the usual games like Tetris, Pacman and SNES, NES games. (like has always been.)

The new expansion pack gives you SEGA and N64 games, with more to be added and the "loaning" of the DLC at no additional charge of ACNH happy Island thing. Once the year is up (or month however you go with it) my understanding is all prizes you got and put on your home island you keep. All the jobs and decorating you have done on the happy island stays BUT you will not have access to that until you either get the expansion pack again and keep the Happy Island until it expires OR you pay the normal regular DLC and get to keep it forever.

So for me I plan on getting the expansion when more N64 games are on the service to maximise my money. Once that happens I will have the DLC for ACNH for a year which for my gaming is more than enough and then I lose the happy island but I can't see myself playing longer than that. So this situation works well for me .

For others not so much, so you just have to decide whats best for you and whether its worth it or not.

For me I plan on getting the expansion pack once Banjo is out. Maybe see what other games are out and maximise my 1 year of it. (This was before knowing about ACNH) so in my calculations this DLC is free for me knowing I was getting the expansion and i'm good to not have it longer than a year, as I will be onto other games anyway at that point.

I never pay on free to play games, i'm a cheap skate and if I know I can have something for free one day, then i'll always go the free route. Even if it takes months. But I have patience and don't need everything now.

In terms of this game, I don't find you "need" to pay to win. Especially as its a team game. I could be a weak link and scrounge a win from the whales on my team. Or just play a bit clever and get points from the pokemon in the middle sections, away from attacking players and hide in the grass until i see an opening to get some good goals (points).

I try and look how the opponents play and see if they're stronger than me, before deciding to be sneaky or go attack mode.

Only thing I don't like is near the end I have only a small idea on if i'm winning or losing. I wish they would have a score tracker, so I know whether to attack or defend at the end. Normally don't bother defending much because I am worried my team is losing. But with a score tracker that would change how I play and probably a lot of people.

I do think it's happening, but I don't believe most of the leaks and all the leaks say "pro" I can't imagine them calling it a pro. Most likely "Super Switch" or for a laugh "The Switch U" would have a fun impact. Especially as the system has a lot of ports from Wii U days

This is the kind of DLC I personally like.. I love how just as everyone gets to grips with the monsters and gameplay, they will add more and keep people hooked longer.

It stops the game from going stale and is not a quick cash grab which they could probably have done.. Fair play

For me it's been 3d world/BF and polishing off age of calamity which was my first hack n slash game

For me, it's like most people in March, all about the Rise of Monster Hunter

But down the line wouldn't mind checking out PvZ and Crash4 before Mario Golf rolls into town.

I've always debated getting splatoon 2 but something else always came up. Ill defo make sure to get this on release as it does look fun and being new to the series sounds like a good thing if its like fifa where its slightly different each year.

Speed golf mode looks so much fun. Looking forward to it

@mr-duster it was more a poor joke aimed at the pre sword and shield launch when all people talked about was how bad the trees looked and they used DS models for them.

If the trees look good when the game is released I will give it a try
