Re: Zelda Producer Responds To Fans Who Want A More "Traditional Linear" Adventure

Ambassador_Kong

@Haruki_NLI Nonsense! This is a zombie lie that just refuses to die. The Zelda cycle is a myth. I was gaming at the time of all these launches and every one of these games were loved at launch. The only "complaints" I remember was the cartoony look of Wind Waker (a complaint that stopped then minute the game launched) and Skyward Swords awful motion controls and boring over world (complaints that still exist).

BOTW and TOTK have removed everything that made Zelda a successful franchise and replaced it with a Roblox sandbox game. Aonuma obviously forgot what made Zelda special if he thinks that BOTW and TOTK are an evolution of the series. It's a bland open-world sandbox with a Zelda skin. If this is the future direction, then I'm done. That's okay because there are plenty of other games to play.

Re: Sonic Fans Are Already Really Mad About Sonic Origins Plus

@Olliemar28 So, as you yourself just admitted, it isn't a full physical release. A significant amount of content is not included on the disk so it is not, by any objective measure, a full physical release. Why Sega chose to release the game this way is a mystery.

Also, from the review:

Sounds quite echoey, right? Granted, it's not offensively bad by any stretch of the imagination, but those who played the original releases will most certainly notice the difference.

I know reviews are subjective, but for those of us with ears attuned to music, it is offensively bad. Like fingers on a chalk board.

Re: Feature: Nintendo Switch Ports We'd Love To See In 2023

The vast majority of these games would turn the Switch into a bubbling puddle of plastic. Just get a PS4 (they're dirt cheap) or Xbox Series S (which is less expensive than a Switch) and you'll be able to play all these games without the framerate issues and soft, blurry graphics that plague most Switch ports.

@RushDawg don't bother with @JaxonH. He's a true Nintendo "fan" and we all know fan is short for fanatic. Just look at how many lengthy responses he has on this page alone. He doesn't understand that discussions are for people offering different opinions. After all, one of his earliest posts was the traitorous critic / if you don't like it leave fallacy. He thinks these pages should be an echo chamber of Nintendo love and anyone that points out a flaw should just go somewhere else. He's not looking for discussion, he's engaging in confirmation bias. Anything that agrees with his point of view he accepts, anything that doesn't, he disregards.

How can you possibly debate someone that says there is no objective standards for evaluating a videogame? It's all subjective? That's utter nonsense. A broken game that only properly responds to player input some of the time would objectively be a bad game.

He did slam you for arguing that popularity of a thing made them more valuable and I would agree with him there. The popularity fallacy is one that a lot of people bring up and it's wrong. People used to think the world was flat and gods caused storms, but that didn't make those ideas correct. A lot of people played (and enjoyed) Elden Ring, but that doesn't make it game of the year. It's GOTY material Regardless of its popularity.

Finally, I think it's absolutely absurd he accuses you of console warring and throwing your opinion around and then says that Nintendo is blowing the competition away. It's a tragic lack of self-awarness.
