Framerate issues on a Switch game? Say it isn't so.

@duffmmann @duffmmann the original GBA used double A batteries. It was upgraded to a front lit screen with a chargeable battery and a clamshell case which was a precursor to the DS. Then it was upgraded to have a back lit screen. Then there was the GBA micro. The GBA was one of Nintendo's most heavily redesigned consoles.

@BananaMetallurgica The Nintendo defense force needs to upgrade their talking points. Shooters aren't nearly as common as they used to be and, unless your talking about David Cage, there are very few playable movies on the market.

To be honest, there is more diversity on the PS4 than on the Switch.

Subnautica barely runs on the PS4, I can't imagine it running well on the Switch.

@Timppis You are correct, limited release and artificial scarcity aren't comparable. They are actually the same thing.

@BloodNinja Great piece of tech? Surely you aren't talking about the Switch. Because the Switch is an antiquated tablet that can't even hit a consistent 30 fps on most games. And don't get me started on drift.

@WiltonRoots it is hard to argue against facts and it seems consumers are smart enough to see when they are being taken advantage of, but still dumb enough to allow themselves to be take advantage of anyways.

@OorWullie I've never regretted a console purchase before (not even the WiiU), but getting the Switch was a mistake. Played it for a month at the beginning of the pandemic. But now it's just gathering dust. I feel like Charlie Brown trying to kick the football. Nintendo ways promises that they have learned and they'll change, but they never do. I've owned every console Nintendo has produces, but this will be the last.

I would really like to know some of the games the reviewer is talking about because I haven't seen games like this in a very long time.

I'm neither a kid or bad at SS and it was my least favorite Zelda ever. The hand holding, linearity, bland story, motion controls, empty overworld, unskippable dialog, and repeated boss battles made this Skyward Slog. Everyone knows this game was devisive, even Nintendo.

@the_beaver Nintendo fans are members of a cult and nothing Dear Leader does can ever be wrong. They twist themselves in pretzels explaining why being able to spend $60 on a 10 year old game is a privilege and everyone should praise Nintendo for the feast of thin gruel they've been served.

One of the cult members told me that NSO is superior to PS+ because Sony only gives out old games. Not like the "brand new" 35 year old roms that Nintendo offers.

@Magrane NSO isn't $20 if anyone else in your family has a Switch. It's close to $40 for the family plan and, during the frequent sales, PS+ can be had for $45. NSO is a terrible service that is nowhere near worth the asking price. This month on PS+ we got Control and Concrete Genie. Last month we received Maneater and Tomb Raider. All are good games published in the last few years. For $10 less, from Nintendo, you get 30 year old roms every couple of months. It's a joke and Nintendo should be ashamed of itself. They should be offering free Switch games.

@ChaosBadger777 I got PS+ last year for $45. I paid $35 for NSO. That $10 shouldn't be the difference between modern games and 40 year old "classic." NSO is total garbage.

@SoIDecidedTo I had a copy of Monster Hunter Freedom Unite on a PSP many years ago. I sank hundreds of hours into in and decided to pick up Generation on the 3DS when it first released. I skipped Tri because of the swimming and only played a few hours of Monster Hunter 4. Generations being a greatest hits with the different hunter styles really appealed so I picked it up. Picking up Ultimate seemed like an obvious first choice for switch.

@SoIDecidedTo Monster Hunter Generatuons was the only game I bought. I borrowed Mario Odyssey, Luigi's Mansion, and a bunch of other games from the library.

@Wilforce it's more an issue of supply and demand. Sony has so many great games coming out that developers have to heavily discount games to get people to continue purchasing them.

Nintendo only puts out a few games a generation and has very little third party support beyond indies and shovelware. They don't have to discount because there is no competition.

@SoIDecidedTo Does the 8 attache rate include NSO titles? How many are 90 cent eshop titles? I've bought exactly one Switch game since I purchased the system 9 months ago.

Two seconds is all you need to realize that the Switch couldn't handle game pass. Framerate already tanks in games designed for Switch, imagine what would happen if you tried to run an Xbox emulator on it

@impurekind I'm in the same boat. The Switch would be my biggest console regret if I hadn't bought a Vita. Really don't understand the appeal of the Switch. Bland first party releases and little of interest from third parties. The halcyon days of the DS and 3DS are far behind us.

@WiltonRoots Consoles are made in factories where people need to work closely together.

Games can be made remotely from the safety of people's homes.

@KnightsTemplar My point was that those two titles are much better examples of the graphical power of the PS5 than Fenyx.

Demon's Souls is a crappy game? I didn't think opinions could be wrong, but here we are.

It's a PS3 game masquerading as a PS4 title being played on a PS5. This should in no way be interpreted as a diminishing gap between console generations. Astro's Playroom and Demon's Souls are better indications of what the PS5 is capable of, and those are just scratching the surface of the next generation's potential.

Demon's Souls for me.

Switch remains gathering dust for the 16th consecutive weekend.

@Dethmunk I can't think of a single time when. Demo released and the product was radically different. With a few weeks before release, I guarantee the release is going to be exactly like the demo. Can it be fixed later with a patch? Who knows, but Link's Awakening still has its framerate issues, so I guess you should assume what you see in the demo is the best you're going to get.

A huge discussion on the word niggles with 90% of the discusses unaware that it is am actual word. Shakes head, walks away, weeps for the future.

This is the future for the Switch if people want to play 3rd party games. The Switch just isn't powerful enough to play games like Control. It's a slide show on the PS4.

How will the Switch be the number one console if no b one can purchase one? Last I heard, it's impossible to find a Switch. Has that changed?
