Re: Poll: Does Nintendo Switch Need Streaming Apps and a Web Browser, Or Is It All About Games?

AcidGhost

I was thinking about the mobile app that has voice chat and all that stuff on it, it obviously connects to the switch so it knows what you are playing etc, what if when it is connected to your phone you can use it like apple airplay sort of and the app will be able to stream from your phone to the switch, so you could load up netflix or whatever on your phone then send it to your switch to watch on the tablet or tv if docked. That way you wouldn't need the apps directly on the switch.

Re: Poll: A Week On, How Do You Feel About the Nintendo Switch?

AcidGhost

I can't wait, I've proerded a gray switch and Zelda. The initial launch line up is a bit poor, but how many 'game of the year' nominations are switch games going to get this year? Zelda, Mario odyssey, Xenoblade 2, Splatoon 2, Snipperclips I think will all win awards. Not bad for the first 9 months of a new console and Much better than Xbox one or PS4's first year.

Re: Soapbox: Nintendo's Switch Plan is Starting to Take Shape

There's a Nintendo direct this week about Fire emblem, does anyone think there could/should be a new direct every week until the switch launch going over different things on the system such as VC, UI, eshop, the online service etc just to keep interest up and answer some of the questions people have.

Re: Poll: Are You Optimistic for Nintendo's 2017?

AcidGhost

I think Nintendo should keep up momentum all year, after the switch reveal there should be loads of hands on and press events and advertising for it. Then after its release there should be a Direct in about end of April then have a massive E3 show. Nintendo need to keep up excitement and interest in its games and consoles.

Re: Soapbox: Nintendo, the NES Mini and Ongoing Stock Problems

I'm not just sticking up for Nintendo and I think they are far too cautious in stock levels, but try getting a Playstation VR anywhere for RRP. It seems like everyone congratulates sony for making a popular well received device that sells out but Nintendo do the same and its all either a sinister plan or terrible management.

I think the removable controllers could be cool, if they are relatively cheap to make, games could come with there own bespoke controller add ons or custom designs, if your game needs extra face buttons to play just make a right hand side controller piece with more buttons. Also another thing that this enables is removing the controller parts and putting the screen part into a cardboard VR type headset and you have a cheap wireless VR console.
There are a lot of options open with this modular type design if true.

Re: Feature: Five Key Reveals and Releases That Will Define Nintendo's 2016

I have been thinking about the NX for a while and came up with a crazy idea, everyone thinks it is a hybrid console, but what if it is a cross platform console, able to connect to the Wii U, Xbox one or the Playstation 4! Here is some 'evidence' from various leaks and patents.

The next console won't have a disc drive. ( it wouldn't need one because it would use the drive in the console it is joined with. )

The patent for a supplemental cloud computing device that people assumed attached to the NX, what if it is the NX and attached to any console to allow you to play Nintendo games on any console.

Nintendo have said they will not abandon current Wii U owners.

Price is said to be around $150, this is doable with this.

10- 15 million units sold in 1st year. With an install base of current gen consoles at over 50 million now this is a good estimate.

Phil Spencer has said a number of times he would like to see Nintendo games on the Xbox.

Nintendo have said they are doing something new that the industry hasn't seen before, could this be it? probably not but I think it could be a winner for everyone if they go this way.

Re: Video: Mario Party 10's Bowser Party & amiibo Party Modes

On the Amiibo party video the computer controlled players had 2D paper cut out figures on the board, do you think this is what the Amiibo cards could be like? I always assumed they would be just like trading cards but they could be pop out shapes on thick card with the chip in a base section.

Re: Wii U Price Cuts Only Brought Modest Additional Sales for Asda and Amazon UK

AcidGhost

I was one of the people who got a Wii U from amazon at £150 a couple of weeks back. I already had got a black one on launch day but for £150 I couldn't resist getting one for the kids room.
It will be interesting to see where we are in 12 months time, the Wii U will have a decent selection of games and the Xbox1 and PS4 will be enduring there own game droughts.
