Re: Fans Reckon Nintendo Has "Killed" Mario Kart World With Its Latest Update

Aawill91

Honestly I think this might be one of (if not) the worst Mario Kart. It’s still fun but the music is remixed Mario instead of track specific and unique, the way you unlock drivers and costumes is the most absurd way to unlock characters in a video game ever, too many straight roads, racing to the next course sounds cool but this leads to the actual track feeling short and forgettable, the list goes on. I’m hopeful this will receive DLC that makes it a complete Mario Kart experience but until then this is a half assed mess.

Re: Pokémon Fans Set Their Sights On Palworld's Monster Designs

Aawill91

@Korgon It’s upsetting that you consistently can’t read or understand anything at all. I already state the gameplay isn’t the issue. The issue is a few of the designs are clearly rip offs. How can you not see that? And a dog is a dog?? All dog Pokemon look distinctly unique yet somehow palworld has two dog Pokemon that are carbon copies of Pokemon that have existed for literally over a decade. Baldur’s Gate is a horrible example because it’s based in D&D/fantasy. Of course elves look similar to elves from every other fantasy game. You have consistently displayed an inability to comprehend what I’m saying and give examples of things that make no sense at all and do not apply in this situation. It’s truly pathetic how you can defend blatant rip offs and defend it with “well every possible design is already taken”. You have no imagination and no brain cells.

@Korgon Yeah and if you could actually read you would know I was criticizing your creatively bankrupt excuse of “there are only so many ways to make a dog monster design” when Pokémon literally just did it again with Dachsbunn. Stop making half baked excuses for blatant ripoffs and go back to school to work on your reading comprehension.

Re: Pokémon Fans Set Their Sights On Palworld's Monster Designs

@KayFiOS Pokémon is allowed to riff on their own designs. That’s a horrible, ignorant argument. I can’t believe I have to explain that there are all different kinds of real life animals that look similar but are slightly different depending on the region they live in. The problem is palworld copying designs that aren’t theirs. The gameplay is different enough it doesn’t deserve too much criticism but no amount of “bUt PoKeMoN sTagNanT” justifies blatantly stolen designs.

Re: Pokémon Fans Set Their Sights On Palworld's Monster Designs

@B_Lindz You don’t have to play the game to see some of the creature design rip offs. That’s all it’s about. There isn’t much criticism coming in the form of its gameplay. Pokemon clearly needs competition in the “monster taming” genre so they start making games than run higher than 15 FPS but there is ZERO excuse for a few of these blatantly copied designs. Please learn to read and focus on what is actually being justifiably criticized.

Re: Time Between Switch's Announcement And Launch Was A "Special Case", Says Nintendo

Aawill91

For some reason this article doesn’t mention when the Switch was announced compared to when it was released so here it is:

Nintendo announced new hardware with the codename NX on March 17, 2015. It was hardly mentioned again until April 2016 during an investors meeting. During that meeting they also announced NX would be released in March 2017. NX was not known as the Switch until October 20, 2016 when it was officially unveiled. Switch was finally released on March 3, 2017.

So I’m certainly no industry expert but I think this means the Switch’s successor is a hell of a lot closer than most people would believe. They won’t be talking about it for a whole two years prior to release this time since the Switch is so successful. I think it’s safe to assume they’ll release the Switch successor within six months of its announcement and it is probably coming next year. Here’s to hoping!

Re: Microsoft's Activision Blizzard Acquisition Has Been Officially Blocked In The UK

Aawill91

@RainbowStarFlower Activision is way overvalued. In the past three years they’ve only released COD games, one Tony Hawk and 2 Crash games. We wouldn’t even be having this conversation if it wasn’t for COD. Blizzard is a husk of what it once was too. This won’t hurt Sony. There aren’t many people who would switch their whole gaming ecosystem from PS to Xbox over some dumb Activision games. PS still has all the good AAA exclusives. I can understand why people think this would make MS a monopoly but it’s going to take a lot more than COD to stop Sony’s dominance.

Re: Reggie Fils-Aimé Is A Big Believer In Blockchain And "Play To Own"

Aawill91

It’s really quite disturbing how 99% of the people commenting are so vehemently opposed to something they clearly know nothing about and assuming this is the same thing as useless NFT pictures of monkeys. There are so many potentially good uses for blockchain technology in gaming compared to NFTs as we currently know them which are almost always a scam. Wouldn’t it be nice to be able to resell your DLC when you’re done with it just like your game cartridge? What if I wanted to quit Pokemon Go tomorrow but I still have raid passes I paid for on my account that will just go to waste in the current system? This has the potential to give a little bit of real value to microtransactions instead of it being an immediate and permanent digital loss. Of course some companies will use blockchain in nefarious ways but that doesn’t mean it’s all bad. Just like microtransactions, some can be fair and some are a scam. It’s the same thing with any physical good except where there are ways to return, resell, reuse and/or recycle those goods. Buyer beware.
