Update: The official Twitter account for Platinum Train has now confirmed that the tweet posted below is not related to a Nintendo Direct.
Our trusted sources still indicate that the Direct will be taking place as explained in the original article, however.
Original Article: It's Nintendo Direct rumour time once again, folks! It would appear that the previously delayed Nintendo Direct will now air on Thursday 13th September.
Information from multiple trusted sources has indicated that the Nintendo Direct will now take place at 3pm PDT on Thursday. This timing corresponds exactly to the timings of the previous announcement, which was scheduled to take place at 3pm PDT last Thursday. This would mean that the Direct has been delayed by exactly one week.
Interestingly, recent datamining efforts in Splatoon 2 had already hinted at content rotations being delayed to this date, and the official Twitter account for Platinum Train - a game currently available exclusively in Japan - has posted a message teasing a "surprise announcement" for the same day, too.
If correct, this means that the rescheduled Direct will be taking place at the following times for your area:
- North America: 3pm PDT / 6pm EDT
- Europe: 11pm BST / Midnight CEST (Friday 14th September)
- Australia: 8am AEST (Friday 14th September)
Of course, this Nintendo Direct presentation was initially planned to air for 35 minutes to showcase upcoming Nintendo Switch and 3DS titles. Whether any announcements during the delay period will have affected proceedings is still unknown.
Are you ready for another dose of Nintendo Direct hype?

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAS
Hurrah!
I truly admire Nintendo for rescheduling the direct. Unfortunately a few announcements seemed to have been leaked but I think it’s worth it out of respect for Japan.
Please be true!
Thursday Night - because...
..THE ESHOP UPDATES ON THURSDAY NIGHT ! lol
Predictions:
Yoshi Crafted World trailer w/ 2019 release date
Pokémon Let's Go Pikachu and Eevee Switch bundles
FFXV Portable Edition
FFCC Remastered
Civ IV announcement
Starlink trailer
Maybe a Switch SSBU bundle
So excited, can't wait. 😉
Woooo, WOOOOOOOOOOOO. All aboard the hype train!
@rjejr I think those are probably all spot on, if a bit predictable. If that's all we get I'll be disappointed.
Metroid Prime HD Trilogy... please God.
Makes sense...
Inb4 it's delayed again due to the hurricane in America
Please just say the single player mode for smash. That’s all I want.
@rjejr You're probably correct...
I'm already bracing myself for disappointment...
@iLikeUrAttitude was thinking the same thing actually. Lol.
So they’ve rescheduled the Direct due to a hurricane to a day when I will be hit by a hurricane. Fantastic.
What about the Mario Party bundle for NA?
PokeSmash Direct
Finally!!!!! Holy beeegeezus Finaly fantasy announcements I hope and Dark Souls remastered!
A hurricane is supposed to hit the US that day.
Anyway, hope we get some info on Yoshi and/or Metroid. Metroid Prime 1-3 on Switch would be nice too.
Well, I have a cold and it's rainy as crap where I live, so I suppose I can endure that for two more days.
If so then I'm glad any affected employees, and Japan in general, were able to recover from that disaster so fast.
@justin233 There's already evacuations in place
I feel like Animal Crossing fans will be happy with this Direct, it's time.
@ObeseCity I know.
Skeptical. Nintendo woupd have announced it by now.
I noticed the video got taken down. 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔 Rumour could be true.
I dunno i would like to believe Nintendo has a contingency plan for RDR 2. Like an alternative game from RockStar.
When RDR 2 drops and it becomes a ridiculous success, the Switch's hardware limitations in regards to its home console side will be painfully obvious and will get torn into.
I can just see it coming, we got a taste of it from the whole faff with that Black Ops developer laughing at a Switch version.
The Switch is not as powerful as a PS4 but it is more powerful than a PS3. It is also portable. These are strengths that need to be highlighted. They need something of more substance than already announced games.
If Nintendo was sweating Spider-Man, then they need to be terrified of what RDR will do (Spider-Man is a 1st party exclusive, RDR 2 is multiplatform)
I hope this direct talks about how Nintendo coated RockStar with gold coins for an exclusive RDR 1 remastered on the Switch - now this is as far from reality as can be but this (along with GTA 5 at some point) is a huge must.
One can hope.
I'd say it's very likely. We'll probably know today if it's happening.
My predictions.
Smash Bros Ultimate
Mario Galaxy Ultimate
Wario's Ultimate Mega Mix
Zelda the Ultimate Collection
NieR Automata Ultimata Cut
Ultima IV Ultimate
'Ultimate' is the new 64!
@rjejr Yeap, about what I would expect as well. Can't say that anything about this is particularly exciting to me though.
I couldn't care less about Yoshi - although it has a really neat style -, SSBU or Pokemon (or Smash for that matter) .. sadly =(
Curious to see more of Starlink. I'm not sure though, that I'm really excited for that either, not to mention, that - despite Star Fox - I am probably not going to get it for the Switch. Probably too much of a downgrade and I definitely won't invest into those damn toys.
@Frendo
If these games announced on Nintendo Switch :
1. The Sims 4
2. Final Fantasy XII The Zodiac Age
3. Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD
4. Kingdom Hearts 1.5 + 2.5 HD
5. World of Final Fantasy
I will SOLD my PS4 & All remaining PS4 games i have.
@wiggleronacid
I believe the first thing we will see from the Direct is the condolences for the Earthquake disaster last time, then followed by Direct about 3DS games first, then Nintendo Switch.
Riddle :
My first is kind of a big stone
My second is a small glass of alcohol
My (Devil's) THIRD is the sun in French
My whole is something that you're gonna see soon.
@iLikeUrAttitude
Er...what ?!
Hurricane on America ?!
Oh, gosh...
@Bunkerneath
Is this an earthquake reference?
@Razer I doubt it. Seems pretty obivous, that RDR2 is going to push the vanilla PS4 and esp. X1 as it is and even assuming their code is not remotely the mess that it was for RDR1, they are probably pretty busy for the forseeable future making the jump to PC ... in the 'near' future, in a graceful way.
There are other considerations as well of course. Like the sheer size of the game, the prices of cartridges, the question of whether Nintendo is really that eager for this type of game (yeah, I know Doom and Wolfenstein, but still) and so on and so forth. It's also worth keeping in mind, that it's not just RDR2 either.
Tomb Raider is not going to be on Switch. AC: Odyssey is not going to be on Switch. BLOPS4 is not going to be on Switch. The same goes for plenty of others like Just Cause 4 or Darksiders 3. Not all of these are going to be as big as RDR2 obviously, but still .... I thik I am the exception in caring "just" about RDR2 here (maybe DS3 as well, I liked 1 better than 2 so we'll see). If you really want to appeal to that group, even somehow getting a solid port of RDR2 on the system, which is not going to happen, will not make all that much of a difference, not by itself anyways.
I don't know how much they relied on the stuff that was revealed in the meantime, but they might have to "muscle it up" with new reveals.
Here we go again...hopefully something good will be shown.
Oh no, that means the Smash Bros News will likely be leaked by Famitsu on the same day, Nintendo why?
@Aaron09
I like it when the Japanese respect Japan. Definitely a good thing. 😉
And I likely won't have internet or power due to the hurricane. Wonderful!
@Xaessya Ha! Never even thought that the hype of the Direct created the earthquake
They didn’t want to show it but I guess they’ll now show a short trailer of prime 4
@justin233 Yes 1-3 Switch would be a great follow-up to the smash hit 1-2 Switch
I kid, I kid, but that's how I originally read your comment due to the "1-3 on Switch" being on the next line...
@rjejr I don't think you're correct about Civ IV though...
@1UP_MARIO I sure as hell hope so! I don't care for anything 3ds, final fantasy, Pokémon or any indie stuff from this just big things please!!!
@Kwehst Me too. Florence better wait until 7:00 PM to cut my power off on Thursday.
Hopefully this happens. That would be a day after the Apple Keynote, making this week very entertaining in deed. Also hoping that Japan gets a reprieve from natural disasters.
@DannyBoi they usually only announce the day before.. last week they said on Wednesday it would be Thursday... so no the would not have announced by now
@WreckitRyan Pro-tip, get the usb charger cable for the switch and two exterior batteries. They gotta be selling like hotcakes so I'd go as soon as possible. Charge at your local restaurants and wifi cafes that have generators. Charge while driving there too. Florence doesn't hit until Friday so you'll have power to watch the Direct. Power outage goes by faster when you're still playing video games. I'd play at night to distract me from the mosquitoes and heat.
@Frendo Those Final Fantasy bundles would be so so awesome!!!!
@Kwehst actually they announced the direct officially after the hurricane and delayed it due to the earthquake that put 3M people without electricity
I kinda doubt any announcements (assuming they're even echoed in the Direct since both Final Fantasy pieces have been multiplat news anyway; maybe Civ 6?) will be edited out, unless they sat deep in a sizzle reel and had no host/voiceover commentary refer to them. More hassle than it's worth IMO. Nintendo does emphasize the surprise factor, but they had every right and reason to risk and potentially sacrifice some of it here.
Pikmin 4 or GET LOST!
@Balta666
Yes I know, but I wanted the analogy to work. Which is why I didn’t use typhoon as well. It was very understandable why they postponed the Direct because of the earthquake. Very sad and devastating.
I will watch the Direct no matter how bad the hurricane gets, even if it’s on my phone through data.
@rjejr
The Switch doesn’t have the HW for FF:XV.
I can't wait for 'Switch Now' game streaming.
Yes! Let's go!
@Ralek85 ok if your going to latch yourself onto every single one of my comments on this fan site, id appreciate if you'd learn to condense your walls of text.
What you genuinely seem to fail to realize here is that RRDR 2 will be much bigger than those other games you mentioned. In fact if the game sells even a quarter of what GTA 5 has sold then missing it is a HUGE blow.
Now i never once mentioned RDR 2 port for the Switch - but RDR 1 for the Switch would actually shift consoles,now the appeal for you may not make sense.
I'm not going to sit here and call GOW sub par hack and slash game (because it is at its core), because i don't understand the appeal behind these games... I know others do therefore it sells consoles, so i wont call it such.
Don't sell something off short just because it doesn't appeal to you.
You seem to be acting like missing RDR 2with no alternative is totally okay when its as far from okay as can be. People will be selling their Switches to purchase that. Wait and see.
Though I have mixed feelings since a hurricane is suppose to hit hard that day in my area... But hey! I want it sooner rather than later!
Anyone remember that Shin Chan episode with the Typhoon?
Hopefully the wind won't be too bad Thursday evening on the approach of Cat 4ence. (Yes, Cat *F*l*our*ence. I said that)
Edit: I ruined it, cause now it'll be Cat 5 on landfall. Stay safe SC/NC
@Savlep99 Don’t give Nintendo ideas, lol
If it shows up Thursday, won't Famitsu just leak everything tomorrow?
@Razer I think you might be way overestimating RDR2 . Smash Bros will likely sell close to the same number of units or possibly more lifetime on just one platform. Then there’s Pokemon and Super Mario Party, though Nintendo could use a big single player title or two.
I've said it before, and I'll say it again: Whatever happens will happen. I have no predictions. But since I got a Switch, I can only say this about Smash: One can only hope.
im not sure why they cant just release the date right now.
@Kwehst They rescheduled it due to an earthquake but I still understand what you meant.
if i can be honest im more excited for the 3ds announcements over the switch announcements besides smash
@Razer chill out dude, he made some reasonable statements. no ones hostile here
@frabbit No chance of Metroid. Well, slim to none, at least 😔
METROID PRIME TRILOGY + HUNTERS HD
Just bring snowboard kids hd over and I'll be set
What I hope from the direct is:
What I think we will get:
@Razer I latched onto you? All our previous exchanges were part of a single topic, so I guess ... sorry for engaging. I mean, honestly, if it bothers you, why respond?
Also, no one forces anyone to really read through all of one's writing. I get that not everyone is keen on reading text-walls, but by the same token, not everyone is keen on perfunctionary one-line responses either.
Anyways, I did not ignore the fact that RDR2 will be really big: "Not all of these are going to be as big as RDR2 obviously..." should have made that clear Sidenote, RDR is NOT GTA. You can keep making that comparison, sure, that is your right, and maybe RDR2 will be as big as GTAV, but unless such is an established fact, we should not all just pretend that RDR sold as well as GTAV - even on PS3/X360. RDR didn't get close to GTAV .period.
"Now i never once mentioned RDR 2 port for the Switch - but RDR 1 for the Switch would actually shift consoles,now the appeal for you may not make sense."
That's confusing because just now you complained about my textwalls. Anyways, I was obviously being to curt in my previous post: RDR1 will not be ported to the Switch. Rockstar came out and said it could not be brought to PC with resonable ressouces due to, as I said before if you had cared to read closely, its incredibly messy code base. It's simply put out of the question.
This leaves two options, I'd say, a port RDR2, which I already pointed out is unlikey for the aforemtioned reasons, or a new switch project from Rockstar within that universe, which, I also covered, by saying that Rockstar is probably going to be quite busy with bringing RDR2 to PC in the forseeable future in an acceptabl state - again something they could not achieve for RDR1 by their own admission.
All of this I did not state overly explicit, as that would have produce another ... textwall, but implicitly, yes I said all that
I will not comment about your remarks about GoW, as those seem spiteful for no good reason I can deduce.
"You seem to be acting like missing RDR 2with no alternative is totally okay when its as far from okay as can be. People will be selling their Switches to purchase that. Wait and see."
No, I'm not saying that. I'm saying that there is no real alternative here. RDR2 will not find its way to the Switch, and no, like I said, RDR1 cannot (as far as these things go) find its way to the Switch. And no, a "spin-off" project is super unlikey, if not 100% entirely impossible. It would be insane to sell your Switch for RDR2, or any such game, since any sane person must have been aware that these types of games would by and large not be covered by a portable system priced well under their competitors.
I would also contend, that this will be more of a concern of software units moved, than hardware units moved then, for the Switch. It's less about "which system to buy" rather "which game to play, aka what game to buy to play" ^^ Will people flock to Smash or Pokemon over RDR2? Depends on the gamer, but will anyone who cares about any Nintendo property sell of his Switch because of RDR2 ... possible, but I doubt that is going to be a mass-movement. How come people have not sold off their Switches en masse for MHW then? Or said God of War or Spider-Man? These games combined also made quite the sales splash together.
Sorry for the text-wall, you left me no real choice with this one. I suggest, if I should truly bother you, you say so plainly or just refrain from responding or well, feel free to ignore me. This is supposed to be a platform for conversation among people who care to do so. It should not be bothersome, nobody should feel "latched on". Have a good one!
How has no one mentioned how he kept saying Yahshi instead of Yoshi? I mean Yoshi really only knows how to say his own name, and perhaps Yup. How could you possibly pronounce it wrong?
Hmm, I was thinking it would be on the 12th, but 13th is also fine.
Looking forward to juicy news of games like Bayonettta 3, MP4 and more.
Also, a Smash newcomer. It's obvious who I want xD
@frabbit Before that MP4 teaser happened, I would have said that a proper port (no just a VC release) of the MP trilogy was a pipe-dream ... Now, I'd just argue that it still feels like unlikely, esp. at this point in time. Once we are getting closer to MP4 for real, maybe ... maybe they feel it would warrant such a port. If the games are closely connected, as far as these things go, and if the reaction to the game is big enough and positive enough ... maybe
@rjejr Good luch with Civ IV. My bet goes on Civ VI.
My hope is a Switch port of Spyro getting announced I love Crash N.Sane trilogy despite the flaws the collection has.
Oh and I want Luigi's Mansion 3.
@Denoloco RE: "The Switch doesn’t have the HW for FF:XV."
I wrote - FFXV Portable Edition
https://www.nintendolife.com/news/2018/09/square_enix_announces_final_fantasy_xv_pocket_edition_hd_for_nintendo_switch
Some type of announcement of a GameCube game for both Switch and 3DS- Windwaker perhaps?
@Ralek85 I'll reply to this ridiculously long novel when i finish work 😂.
I'll edit this comment.
@rjejr
My bad, I forgot that “thing” even existed.
I hope it will be better then the E3 presentation, so not 80% smash (alltough i will still buy it lol)
@Razer
When RDR 2 drops and it becomes a ridiculous success, the Switch's hardware limitations in regards to its home console side will be painfully obvious and will get torn into.
Dude, you need to take a break from the internet.
The Switch's limitations due to being portable are already obvious, and have been for some time. Red Dead isn't going to suddenly induce some magical epiphane about Switch's capabilities, nor is anyone going to care anyways.
Anyone "tearing in two" is likely a console war fanboy and is already ripping on the system, and will continue to do so regardless.
Please stop acting like the most graphically intense game of the generation not being on Switch is going to suddenly kill the system. People know good and well what it can and can't do. Just like people knew what Vita could and couldn't do, and what 3DS could and couldn't do.
I’m keeping my expectations low , but hoping for something good
@Ralek85 I think that regardless of whether or not they're closely connected in terms of story the fact remains that it's Metroid Prime "4" which means the uninitiated will be like... hmmm... where're the first three please? Surely that's a consideration Nintendo have taken for MP. We got unnecessary (but fantastic) Bayonetta 1 and 2 ports in time for a new Bayonetta. I think Metroid is going to be substantially bigger than Bayonetta in terms of sales so the same logic would apply for me.
However... there's obviously more work in adapting the Metroid Prime trilogy, but then, assuming Bayonetta 3 and MP4 went into planning/development around the same time (thereby triggering the work on the preceding games' ports) we're now a year on from the Bayonetta ports. So... there's an extra year of development for the Metroid Trilogy.
I just don't want to count out the possibility of a MP Trilogy port being announced because it helps me sleep at night haha. I've been watching KingK's (youtube) retrospectives on the Zelda and Metroid 3D games the past couple of days and I am FIRED UP FOR NEW GAMES.
Actually... we're not a year on are we? Still. Let me have this one.
I think it might be shorted a bit, but otherwise the same.
Announcements like FFXV pocket edition will be redundant, but might reach more ears with a direct.
@bratzdoll let us hope :3
@Denoloco "I forgot that “thing” even existed"
No problem, you should read the comments on PushSquare, they were all "But Why?!?!?
http://www.pushsquare.com/news/2018/09/final_fantasy_xv_pocket_edition_hd_is_out_now_on_ps4
@toiletduck OK, 2 people caught it, maybe I should edit it. nahhhh
@Ralek85 I don't think you'll "need" the toys for Starlink, those are dead, and w/ Toys R US bankrupt they hardly have any place to sell them anyway. Might need to pay to unlock them, like Ninnteod should do with amiibo, but if you want the game wait 6 months and buy it for half price w/ everything unlocked after the toys bomb.
@DannyBoi "Skeptical. Nintendo woupd have announced it by now."
Well, they already did announce it last week, and since we've probably already seen 15-20 minutes of it in trailer form all we need is for them to put it on Youtube whenever they want and be done with it. And besides, ND rarely get more than 48 hours notice, so any time tomorrow is fine.
@MikeW "bracing myself for disappointment..."
I'm just going to pretend I already saw it and I'm rewatching it for the 2nd or 3rd time like I usually do. As for disappointment, well I'm nto a fan of Pokemon or SSB so it's either Pikmin 4 or nothing for me. Though a Bayonetta 3 trailer and 2019 release date would put a smile on my face.
@frabbit It was meant as a joke post, I just mentioned article info from the past week. I put the winky face emoji at the end to show my sarcastic lack of excitement but it is a weird looking emoji so I'm not surprised so many people took me seriously.
@RichardZ Lousy stupid Roman Numerals. Nice catch.
Well if the earthquake wasn't a message, this time I predict Mothra.
I don't think the Civ 6 announcement will be topped (even though I don't play the game myself, I know a lot of friends who might buy a Switch now with Civ so they can do 'one more round' anywhere), I'm still looking forward to the Direct.
This is honestly the time I expected it to be, so this is pretty believable. I've noticed a lot "but we know everything already" comments, but honestly we really don't. Nintendo Directs are normally dedicated to 1st party games, and I'm expecting the same here. Either way, I'm not really expecting a lot. Some Online info, some Smash Info, maybe a bit of Mario Party, Yoshi, possibly some Fire Emblem information. I don't really need much more.
If this is true, I was hoping they would change the original start time. Us British folk gotta wait til the end of the day to watch it. D:
@Razer RDR2 will not only impact the Switch, but also the whole japanese industry. How are you going to convince the average joe to buy a japanese videogame after RDR2? Games like Puyo Puyo vs Tetris or Persona 5 look ridiculous compared to RDR2. I don't see how the japanese industry could stop sinking under the competition of the western industry at this point. It's like watching Mike Tyson stomping Glass Joe on the ground.
@Razer
There are always some Good games for Nintendo Switch than your RDR games.
Peoples buy Nintendo Switch NOT for the games you mentioned about.
Some peoples DO NOT Like Brutal Violence games.
They want Fun & Relaxing games.
@rjejr hahah fair play. I just thought you were a bit simple! I see from your other comments you're not. My bad!
@frabbit I'm with you on all of that and I love your passion! I'm just feeling like Nintendo often follows it own kind of logic. So while all of this makes sense to me, it might not be same for them, or maybe just not 'enough', so to speak. Like I said though, this generation does genuinely feel different in many a way. Quite a few things I would have thought untenable ideas even 2 years back, don't necessarily feel like that anymore. Yet at the same time, doubts persist and there also setbacks of sorts, like for instance Nintendo's insistence that we don't need/want and definitely won't be getting any time soon ... a Virtual Console for Switch. Something, I dare say, seems like no brainer and a good business opportunity for me.
Everything "feels" possible right now, yet, I do "know", that not everything is indeed possible - if you catch my drift.
@rjejr Agreed, that is my impression as well. IF it were any other way, I would have given up on that game already to be quite honest. Still, I was just pointing it out, I'm have zero interest in any toy-to-life concept. I might buy a cool amiibo for its own sake, like say, a potential Hollow Knight or Hornet amiibo, I would jump on, but that is about the extent of it.
Really wondering what they still have left for the Direct though.
@TJWorks Pegi 18 confirmed! GTAV!
@Razer Uhm okay! Looking forward to it ... I guess ^^ Just as long as you remember that I won't be heartbroken if you don't and that all of this is completely voluntary - to say the least.
@Equinox That statement couldn't any more false considering the US is gamings biggest market.
I'd love to be wrong but I'm not expecting any megaton announcements from this one. Looking forward to it regardless, but not getting carried away.
@bitleman I dunno, I think that is one way of thinking about it. Like, if you cannot compete with the big guns, best get out of the game. At the same time, there are still niche markets for games that are not AAA western productions. I think on the one hand, games like MHW and DQXI are still legimate avenues going forward. The same goes for projects like Nier Automata or Dark Souls/Bloodborne/Sekiro. Persona 5 proved a huge succes, so there is that as well. I'd say they should try a two pronged approach, in short: play to your strength, try to broaden your appeal. All of these aforementioned games do this imho in one way or another. They won't kick GTAV out of the charts this way, but they don't have to.
Oh and last but not least, stop writing your own engines, and esp. a new one for every new project ... just don't. It's a time and money sink, you don't really need.
Based on the last 2 crap directs lets hope 3rd time lucky and not just a load on yoshi
Yay just in time for Florence to take out my internet so I won’t be able to watch it!
There going to talk about Nintendo online, at launch we will have a NES flix, with a couple of hundred games, and the cherry on the cake.....switch will have access to PS Now, and PS4 users will have access to NES flix…..Might happen …
@baller98 It was just a reference to it being so late past the watershed in the UK lol. (Having said that, last time the Direct was so late (Wii U era) they showed Fatal Frame)
@Ralek85 Truthfully, I've put a hold on going any further in MPTrilogy on my WiiU until after the Direct, just in case. I'm only 11% in Echoes, been holding for 3 weeks, haha.
@HobbitGamer True commitment to one's hopes and dreams is a rare thing indeed! ^^
@rjejr I'm Willing to wager $50 your 5th prediction is wrong.
That time still works for me, but I have something going on a little after the Direct ends....Eh, if I move grocery shopping a bit, I'll manage.
Yes even though some games got leak it would nice to know the ones that are still not reveal yet.
@bitleman
😂😂😂
Very good.
See this is where it makes no sense. "We're delaying the direct because Hokkaido just got turfed by an earthquake. We will instead air it while North Carolina is pureed off the map."
@Tim_Vreeland You're the 3rd person to point that out, 1 more and I go back and edit it. Gotta admit I'm impressed 3 people picked up on that, I'm a stickler for detail but don't think I would have noticed. Or at least not noticed enough to comment.
@frabbit "a bit simple"
You misspelled senile.
@NEStalgia Everybody knows North Carolina is Xbox country.
How "surprising" given that we already knew that through the datamine.
Recently, Nintendo Life is doing anything but reporting the news.
And basic journalistic principles don't seem to have any significance here either so maybe it's time for a new Nintendo news site that can be taken seriously...
All I want is a reveal of the Labo contest winners, sob.
I actually read this news on another website 3 days before. They also stated the 13th of september. Just not the time.
@SegaBlueSky Megaton.... I see your veiled Fallout 3 reference. Even if you don’t. I need it. What do you know? Everyone! This person knows something!!!
@rjejr LOL!
@Medic_alert True, but there's "bad events" and "ginormous disasters". There haven't really been a huge number of those in the past 6 months or so. Nintendo directs just always happen when they happen. This week in the US is an extension of the scale of disaster in Japan last week, and is Nintendo's other dominant market. It's one thing if another bad thing happens somewhere, it's another when it's of the same scale as the one you postponed for. Sure home country is one thing, but your #2 country is still a big deal. It does come across a little tone deaf. $20 says if it were Redmond instead of NC it would be postponed again.
@Ralek85 @Razer Honestly I don't think there's huge overlap. The RDR, BLOPS, crowd doesn't intersect too much with the Nintendo audience, and where it does, it's people that already own both platforms for the most part like most of us. Tomb Raider: Unpopular opinion but I'm calling it now, it'll flop. The early reports are kind of tepid, and the signs aren't looking good. I'll buy it half price late November. That leaves AC....I still believe Nintendo is a ripe market for that mix of heroic, adventuring, platforming that is AC (ok, it's an RPG now? Even more reason to be on Nintendo)...but the new ones will never run on Nintendo....too much a memory hog. It needs a Liberation type AC game just for Switch if it's to happen. DS3...well DS1&2 are on WiiU, so I wouldn't rule out a DS3 port at some point just because from a business perspective there's brand identity on Nintendo, something RDR doesn't have. Depends how sales go on the twins.
A new F-Zero and N64 mini would be nice,one can only dream.....
If the time of the Direct is the same as it was supposed to be last week, then the time of the announcement will be the same as well.
That is: Wednesday 7 AM PT; 4 PM CEST; 11 PM JST
MK8 deluxe and Mario odyssey dlc please
No confirmation yet? Calling it now, it’ll be next week
@rjejr other than Yoshi none of that is new lol
Half life 3 switch exclusive confirmed
@iLikeUrAttitude Well, Mario Maker released on 9/11/2015, so...
Really hoping it was for Friday so I could watch it live... Ah well, 24-hr media blackout it is. Hype train boarded!
Is there anything left to announce?
Or is the entire video going to be "Well, as you've already heard..."
@NinChocolate Last week the announcement was just a day before the supposed show time, so it might be announced tomorrow this week too.
@Moshugan Thats what I was thinking as well.
They might just announce it 24h before the actual stream
@MarioFan02 Your point? The US is still the biggest market for video games.
@DannyBoi They announced it on wednesday last week as well
@NEStalgia No argument there, kinda my view on this as well. You don't buy a Switch, and only a Switch, if you are overly concerend with these games. Some individuals may have lacked that, uhm, foresight, sure, everything's possible, but as far as the vast majority of folks go, I'd say they did not even expect the likes of Wolfenstein and thus take that much as .. icing of the cake that is brilliant 1st-party games, slow-but-steadly building 3rd-party support and endless stream of quality indies + unrivaled gameplay quality for a portable system. But I said as much already ^^
@iLikeUrAttitude That, when it comes to US tragedies, Nintendo doesn't really care.
I understand and accept it - they are Japanese, and marketing had to be turned back on sometime - but the thought of Smash releasing on the day Pearl Harbor was attacked doesn't sit well with me.
Yes, that was in 1941 and yes I'll still be hyped for it, but still...
Shin Megami Tensei V and Pikmin 4 please!
@Anti-Matter Kingdom hearts 1 on the Switch is a must buy for me day 1. I've been meaning to get into that series
@iLikeUrAttitude said : "Your point? The US is still the biggest market for video games."
Wrong, that's China if we talk from a country perspective.
If we talk about region in the world, that's Asia/Pacific.
Bren McGuire kills ROB
@Cobalt Oh right China recently took the crown.
Still my point still stands. USA may be second but they're the most important market for games. Chinese mostly play mobile games.
The big three companies focus their market on the US, the Switch isn't even in China.
@Razer we can only dream, come on Rockstar
can't wait to watch a direct, go to school, play torna, then go to youth group laser tag. damn fridays gonna be big
and friday is pancake day at school. yay
@iLikeUrAttitude It is in HongKong and it was cheap! I bought my switch pro controller for 44usd there.
COME ON REGGIE GIVE US SWITCH BALANCE BOARD!
@Cobalt
Yes, but it's the U.S. that has the super-wealthy Influencer celebrities. And it's also home to entrepreneurial households / Megacorporations that have a fair amount of say in determining the time/monetary value of a good or activity.
At the end of the day, it's the return on investment (social or resource-based) that determines what people do (location regardless). That's how Pokémon GO outgrosses Garfield GO or Dinosaurs GO.
@mr12calvin So the world sucks because of Europe but it's also great since you live in Mexico? Mmmmm......
This Direct can't come any sooner, I swear.....
The Wonderful 101 incoming for Switch, not many surprises left in this Direct!
@mr12calvin You said you bought a pro controller there. But did you see any switches? I read from this article that Nintendo has no plans to bring the switch to China this year.

I confirm that I heard the same thing too.
Something with Megaman but not Megaman11, something else.
A new Ridge Racer too apparently...
More smash Bros fighters too!
Thursdayton! On the Dreamcast week as well. Hype!
@Big_Ounce Haha that sounds weird. Its not like that
I just mean looking back in history many things in the world suck because of events caused by European countries .
The invaded many countries and kill the natives in for example USA.
The point that I currently live in Mexico doesnt have so much to do with it actually lol
@Kevember Yeah, I dont like politics lol
Nintendo actually seems to sell more in Japan in the same amount of time as in usa. So Im not sure what you mean.
@rjejr you know there will be more than that.
@iLikeUrAttitude I know hehe
China and HongKong have different laws
The switch is available in HongKong.
You dont pay taxes in HongKong. I saw the switch costing only €225 there. Everything is cheaper there.
I have been in Shanghai and there are some stores selling nintendo games. Mostly DS and Wii. Most is PS3/Xbox 360. But in Beijing I was able to find Switch games and even the Switch itself. I would say that store was about 10% cheaper than the average prices in The Netherlands.
as someone living in Charlotte NC, i just hope my power doesnt go out during or before the direct
@mr12calvin I dont know when you have been here but i bought my switch and all games in shanghai, they have plenty of stock and you can find all their stuff like controllers or other hardware in many shops.
@Sharks @Balta666 @WreckitRyan @Anti-Matter @justin233 @Kwehst @iLikeUrAttitude
Don't worry, guys. I don't think Nintendo will blow it, after all we don't want this Direct to be gone with the wind again, do we?
I'm going to hell for this comment. Regardless, I had to make it - the only reasonable response to the irony of having the Direct airing during another disaster without rescheduling it again "because" of it happening outside of Japan is to laugh.
The folks at Nintendo about this can of worms are damned if they do, and damned if they don't.
@zufa86 I was in Shanghai in November, december until January 17th. Been looking their for games. Couldnt find any. Neither in Xiamen.
@TJWorks and he american fokes have to watch it in the middle of a hurricane.
@rjejr So I guess that means you aren't taking me up on the wager?
@Tim_Vreeland Maybe next time.
@IronMan30 "you know there will be more than that"
Nintendo Online and SSBU single player mode Spirits which will be in the next issue of Famaistu on Thursday.
I'm running out of things to cross for Pikmin 4, it's been 3 years.
Great, so now NL is getting infested with the Trump bots?
@electrolite77 hahahahahaha
Still no news....
I can’t believe you people. Many Japanese still don’t have power. They’ve lost loved ones and their homes. Isn’t that just a little more imoortsnt than a silly Nintendo Direct? My motto is, Lives Before Games, every SINGLE time. I can wait. And, so can you. Nintendo should feel free to cancel this, since airing it at any point is still insensitive. Again, Lives Before Games. Hope some of you can do some self-reflection and adopt this philosophy.
ALL ON BOARD !!!!

LOL
@mj2k18
Best cancel everything then, as there are millions of malnourished and homeless people all over the world. Until that is sorted, no more frivolity.
@Cobalt
Fake
@electrolite77 Duh ! but it was more to pump up the hype !
@electrolite77 I would actually be fine if the focus and profits of all companies went towards fixing global hunger and poverty until that is solved. I’d enthusiastically get behind that. I can sacrifice new gizmos and games for as long as it takes. Couldn’t you? I would certainly hope so.
THIS IS IT ! NINTENDO DIRECT !
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z9xB3jR9eUQ
I think people might be expecting way too much out of this. I expect that the majority of this direct is going to be to finalize details and try to hype up the online service with maybe a few smaller announcements and reveals mixed in
@poppadux If they think we're gonna get hype over the Switch Online, then they're setting themselves up for failure.
@mj2k18
I can, however that will never happen. And here I come to discuss Nintendo video games. Deeper issues I deal with elsewhere. It’s called knowing your audience.
Hehhhhello.... Can't wait for tomorrow!
@bratzdoll I hope so too!!
