Since its release at the end of May, Nintendo’s third-person squid shooter, Splatoon, has received several updates enhancing the overall game experience – with new content arriving on a regular basis.
It appears more free DLC is now on the way, with a new Japanese Splatoon trailer showcasing new weapons, attire, maps and the upcoming Rainmaker mode.
A few highlights include a demonstration of a new ink-powered mini-gun and also the more basic paint bucket. In addition to this is a quick glimpse of a new map, and a look at the Rainmaker mode weapon which functions in a similiar fashion to an Inkzooka.

I've been confused a bit.
Paint bucket seems kind of.....odd.
I am totally down with this. The bucket just looks plain insane
I am heavy weapons squid girl. And this is my weapon. She weighs 200kg and fires custom ink cartridges at ten thousand rounds per minute. It cost 40,000 to fire this weapon for 12 seconds.
So we get Tiswas and Predator in the same advert. I LOVE THIS GAME SO MUCH!!!
New music in that ad, too.
Mini-gun and a bucket sounds great to me. My kind of weapons!!
I'm gonna stick to my NES Zapper 85.
Im going to love that gatling gun.
But its annoying when it says spratoon at the end (or atleast it sounds that).
Is this DLC or is this more on disc stuff getting unlocked? Unsure....
@Zach777 i think its on disc because that gatling gun was on the leaked list.
@Zach777 The new maps aren't on disc, but the weapons and the new mode are. So it's a mix of both.
@Zach777 I think it's a mix of on-disc and DLC here. The data mining leak only listed 10 available stages, and this shows 2 more stages. The leak also didn't list the bucket or the straw hat. But Rainmaker seemed to be on-disc. My personal guess is that most of these new things are from the August update.

So as far as I can tell, the new weapons are on disc but incomplete and unusable at the moment, the new maps are entirely off of the disc, and rainmaker's description is on disc, but the mode itself is not. So it seems like we're starting to receive actual DLC at this point, which is pretty cool.

AND IMHO NOT FAIR, using splattershot jr in ranked and going for bubble in tower ride and give it to your friend who is on tower too.... and then two other teammates swim up, get bubble (by accident or were they seeking it) and you get pushed down from the tower XD

Why are so many people referring the bucket weapon as the "Paint bucket"? Its ink, not paint.

Now if only they'd put all maps into rotation at once, instead of just a couple at a time, that would be the best update so far! Or at least change it every hour, instead of every 4 hours.

@Fernink If that's the case, it seems like there are 2 other variants of the bucket arriving as well (Triple Bloblobber and Bomlobber).
The bucket looks great, but I'd also like to see a Turkey Baster weapon.
