MasterGraveheart commented on Redesigned Wii U Tablet Controller Is Revealed:

I'm more than thrilled to see that the Start and Select buttons are moved closer to the player's hand. This allows for quicker movements, in my book. However, on the analogue sticks... I'm wondering if that won't be slightly awkward at first going.

MasterGraveheart commented on MDK2 Dev Will Never Develop for Nintendo Again:

Whaaa, whaaa, whaaa. Grow up, Oster. Your company will fish where the fish are biting. If the well dries up with, say, Microsoft, and you see Nintendo's download service booming, you'll be on there faster than you can say contradiction.

You're supposed to be a businessman. Act like one.

MasterGraveheart commented on Talking Point: Is Wii U's Power Really That Im...:

It depends how long PS3 and 360 are going to stick around. If they've got a good long time to go, then no. It'll make third parties more inclined to develop for the Wii U as well. If the PS4 and next X-Box are just around the corner, then yes. We can't afford to have another lag-behind power for another generation, I think.

MasterGraveheart commented on Developers: Wii U "Less Powerful than PS3 and ...:

Why would Nintendo make a console that can't compare power-wise with either of their rivals, especially when they're just about to jump themselves? When the Wii came out, it was comparable in graphical power to the PS2 and original X-Box. I don't buy this at all.

MasterGraveheart commented on Mobile Dev: "Iwata Makes Me Fear for Nintendo'...:

There are very few free games I actually care about. Team Fortress 2. Cave Story (PC). Stuff like Angry Birds, FarmVille, and the like are nice diversions, but when I want to get my serious game going, I'm going for the dedicated hardware. Games ate that platform's bread and butter, not just a throwaway. Therefore, the effort will be there, especially with Nintendo. Give me the full experience. Don't nickel and dime me for years on end.

Besides, you don't see the Sistine Chapel being continuously added to and augmented. You don't see the Mona Lisa consistently augmented. You don't see the Lincoln Memorial repeatedly changed. They're complete finished works of art, just like the Mario, Zelda, and Metroid games.

MasterGraveheart commented on Indie Developer Phil Fish Says Japanese Games ...:

@Nintendoftw: Not sure if you're just looking to get a rise out of some people, but I feel your opinion is misguided.

In the recent generation...

Super Mario Galaxy 1 & 2
Super Smash Bros. Brawl
Sonic Colors
No More Heroes
Xenoblade Chronicles
The Last Story
Pandora's Tower
Professor Layton 1 - 6
Okami Den
Metal Gear Solid 4
The Legendary Starfy
Dragon Quest IX
Ninja Gaiden 2
Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia
Pokémon Black & White versions
Cave Story
Mega Man 9 & 10
Kirby's Epic Yarn
Monster Hunter Tri
The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword
Super Mario 3D Land

And that's just off the top of my head.

End @ talk.

Now, before anyone says "Outside of Nintendo, I mean," let me stop you right there. NINTENDO IS JAPANESE GAMING. They're a Japanese company with deep Japanese roots and rich in Japanese culture. Using a caveat like that only at the ends of trying to prove your point (which it can't as more than HALF the games I listed aren't made by Nintendo, though they MIGHT have been PUBLISHED by them. Big difference) does not help your cause and doesn't make you come across as a legitimate debater on this issue. Nintendo of America doesn't even make any games. Sure, there are American studios who'll develop FOR Nintendo, but you'll notice I didn't mention Metroid Prime or Donkey Kong Country Returns.

Now, I know, they don't have that huge multi-million dollar-looking cinimatics (in most cases) or pristine multiplayer... but in 30 years, I'll wager that ALL of these games are more remembered than any of the multiplayer-centered FPS games short of Team Fortress 2. Why? Well, the difference is as obvious as the Mona Lisa and a child's Lego set. Those games I mentioned? Mona Lisa. Done. Art. Perfect. Lego set? Played with and consistently altered until it's brushed aside. Yes, there'll be memories of it, but memories differ. History with Super Mario Bros. 3? Not quite so much, thus why many more gamers who play it can relate to one another.

MasterGraveheart commented on Feature: The Desire for Physical Media:

The only thing keeping me supporting physical media is the desire of not wanting to see thousands of game store employees suddenly become unemployed. Otherwise, WHEN IT'S READY, I welcome an all-digital age.

...I'm keeping my cartridges, though. =P

MasterGraveheart commented on The Last Story Coming to Wii in North America:

I know some people roll there eyes at pony stuff, but for RPG fans, I think this augmentation of a line from Rarity works wonders.

Ahem...

"Of all the best possible things... this is THE. BEST. POSSIBLE. THING. EVER!"

Two down, one to go! Then we can start asking about Earth Seeker and Ace Attorney Investigations 2 (I know, AAI is Capcom, but Ii still want it over here, lol).

MasterGraveheart commented on Talking Point: 3DS Depends on Nintendo Titles ...:

I think developers today have lost their way. They've forsaken the ability to use abstract and think creativity for the sake of big, expansive, high-cost, realism-centric games that flounder on Nintendo platforms. I'm certain Wii U will have an easier time with third party support, but as for 3DS, companies need to relearn the ways of old.

I personally like it. It's bold, it's clean, and everything is still easily navigable. I can't begin to tell you how many times a site gets a new look and finding something is a pain. Good job on your guys' end.

MasterGraveheart commented on Review: Back to the Future: The Game (Wii):

I picked this game up late last year for Wii. Having played the first episode of the PC version (offered for free at one point) and the Wii version, the PC version doesn't quite have the same level of loading or glitch issues as the Wii version, and there is a difference in the graphics, but at it's heart, the gameplay and story are the same and I'd recommend the Wii port to any fan of point-and-clicks or Back to the Future who asked me if they should buy it.

Plus, a $20 game. Not a bad deal. Although, I still think Strong Bad's Cool Game For Attractive People is the superior TellTale Game series this generation... then again, I haven't finished Back to the Future OR Monkey Island yet. ^^;
