A PEGI rating has revealed that Majesco is publishing the Blue Isle Studios title Slender: The Arrival on the Wii U eShop.
The game originally launched on PC and Mac back in 2013 and has since become something of a cult classic. It features the iconic Slender Man, a faceless antagonist who supplies a great many of the game's signature scary moments.
The game's PEGI rating — which of course confirms that it will be coming to Europe — says it is only suitable for persons aged 12 years and over, as it contains "images or sounds likely to be horrifying". Oo-er.
You can check out the launch trailer for the PC version below. Be sure to let us know what you think of this news by posting a comment.

And when I though Slender was dead...NOW HE IS UNDEAD!
great now wii need five nights at freddies and the sequel in 2015
Is this game available on any of the other current-gen consoles?
@LichiRichi I believe it hit XBLA and PSN recently, yes.
@LichiRichi
Its not available on Playstation 4 though. Dont know about Xbox One.
@hyperrabbit @Damo I see, thanks for the info. For a moment I thought we were getting a console-version exclusive
Looks like "The Letter" is about to get some heavy competition.
Oh, cool. Might check this out although after countless Slendy clones on Android devices the character is getting really old. Also these games are solely about cheap scares (or the anxious wait for them). I tried the X360 demo and it seemed to suffer from framerate issues and it's not even that pretty.
This actually reminds me more of Silent Hill. That game still freaks me out. This looks to have tons of promise. Hopefully it's good.
It's nice to finally have a quality Horror game on the Wii U.
I'll get it, I love horror games. Recently (finally) got a copy of Zero 4, which I now play with the fan translation on my Wii, and Ikenie No Yoru, which is a fun distraction. I'd like to play Slender, but it not being on Wii U, and the original being way overhyped (and, while I applaud the original developer, a tad boring in my opinion) kept me from doing so untill now. Glad I didn't get it anywhere else already!
Please support pointer controls!
P.s.: here's hoping the (Project) Zero / Fatal Frame for Wii U gets a European release still...
I'm interested enough that I'll consider getting it.
I have to say, however, that I'm not a fan of cheap scares. I prefer horror games that rely more on atmosphere. I'd be super down for a full-fledged console game with a mood like The Uncle Who Works for Nintendo, which gave me the absolute creeps the other night.
Right on time for Halloween!! Nice!!!Now i wish Slender Haunt made it to the eshop, but i'm good this game is awesome!
Speaking of Halloween releases, has anyone heard anything about Costume Quest 2 that was announced for the wii U?
Hmm not sure if this will make it to the us. I imagine parents will freak out here do to the two 12 year olds who tried to kill their "best friend" for slender man last year.
I wonder if there will be game pad features, like controlling the flashlight with the game pad (holding the game pad up to the TV). That might be more scary with the game pad in your face.
Is this the original slender game?
Oh....I've been waffling on whether or not to grab this for the PC, but if it's coming to the Wii U I'll definitely wait for it.
@ExtraVinegary doubt they'll go all ambitious like that. Most likely just a quick cash grab port.
I've never played these, and with the WiiU lacking my favorite genre "survival horror" I'll probably get this just for the cheap thrills.
@HawkeyeWii
Nope! Its a sequel to Slender: Eight Pages.
Well, I guess I'll get it if it's not too pricey. I mean, I think that Slenderman's popularity has died down recently, so this seems a bit late.
i played this on pc. it's a great game. nintendo gamers probably won't appreciate it because it seems that no matter what comes to the eshop it's never enough. they get pissed when games skip wii u and talk poorly about the ones that do decide to grace the wii u with their presence. not all fans are like this, but too many are, if i were a developer i would skip the wii u simply because of the majority of it's fans.
Slender: The Arrival is literally just a glorified copy of the free original game with slightly improved, but still sloppy, visuals. Nothing else. Why should anyone pay for that?
And even then, the game isn't even good to begin with, just popular with the average YouTube addict because of fakers trying to come off as scared on a Scarecam that annoys more than anything.
Just get the free PC original, this joke isn't even funny anymore.
@SunnyShores You seem to miss the part where most of that stuff sucks. Good games get their fair share of praise, but they gotta earn it. But that's what you're missing in the big picture. While ther are enough people who buy trash from the eShop, many wait for actual quality, which is rare on eShop so far - including Slender: The Paid Arrival.
Why should people appreciate junk? No matter the platform, Slender still loses its appeal after 3 attempts, and even then, suffers from almost nonexistent context, randomized events, and no sense of danger. He's there or he isn't, but he appears entirely at random.
Thank God I didn't buy it on psn.
Day 1 buy for me!
is it heathy to have a jumpscare on the trailer?
It'll definitely beat the Letter when it comes to horror.
I might get this, though I get terrified easily from jumpscares. Do you think I'd be able to play this until the end without fainting? Just wanted to know so I can just save my money for something else if there's a lot of jumpscares in this.
I wonder if this will come out in the US. NOA's been funblocking Fatal Frame for a while now.
@faint You got that right. (Seriously? A MANSION?)...
Well this is definently a cool game that'll arrive on the Eshop. With Dan Adelman gone the indies on Wii U still seem to be doing fine, with Wii U securing popular indie games like this and Gone Home, the indies really feel like third party, without the licensed games.
@ToniK This game has a demo...?
@MoonKnight7 You'r kidding right? "The Letter" Is sooo going to get trashed.
Haha so it begins again
Glad to see it making its way to this system.
I'd be interested in this if it weren't for the rumblings I here of the PS3 version being an absolutely crappy port. It's hard to be optimistic considering the Wii U technology is even more alien to most developers. They clearly need to take their time on those platforms, especially Wii U.
Finally, I get a chance to try this out! This was really unexpected.
Does this have anything to do with slender man? The story that makes little girls kill each other.
I was always interested in this game for quite a while and now I can try out for Wii U! Yes! More horror games for WII U please!
@Hero-of-WiiU Yes, on Xbox at least. For some reason I only found it via web browser and installed it remotely. The demo was ok, but I got stuck (or maybe the demo sort of ended) and quit with slight disappointment.
@Nin98
Haha of course I was kidding! You thought I was being serious?!
Oh, neat. Wonder if it's any good.
Conan already played it. It was horrible. Also, I hate this slender man phase all my kids in class are going through. Just stupid.
@Nictendo64 You can't blame them Slender man is awesome!
This game was funny when Krillin played it from Teamfourstar. Outlast was even funnier than Slenderman xD
Wow, it literally took an entire year, but Slender arrived on the eShop!
12?
