Here's How PlayStation Boss Shuhei Yoshida Lovingly Trolled Nintendo

Subtle yet effective

President of Sony's Worldwide Studios, Shuhei Yoshida, has recently treated himself to a Wii U. That's right, Yoshida (@yosp as he's known on Twitter), posted his Nintendo Network ID to his followers earlier this week in the hope of discussing his experience with fellow Wii U users.

However, in a cheeky and light-hearted attempt at trolling Nintendo, he posted the picture below in the Nintendo Land Community discussion forum in the Miiverse.

It's a rather gentle trolling, but a trolling all the same.

This is funny and how it should be; he obviously wants his brand to do better than the rivals and prefers it, but still shows that you can have some good fun on the competition's side. XD

Seriously though, this is harmless. The fact that he was willing to purchase a Wii U at all is admirable in that he's open to playing others games. Also, he'll know, on a more personal level, what his competition is doing.

Trolling is a bad way to describe it. To troll you need to intentionally want to provoke some sort of negative emotional response from the reader, usually anger. He's just trying to be funny. The term has become this kind of blanket statement. Even a slightly sassy and humorous comment is coined as a trollish statement. Trolling has less to do with content and more to do with intent. Being sassy isn't trolling. Being controversial isn't trolling. Saying you like a product on a competitor's board also isn't trolling in itself. You can't lovingly troll someone because trolling is about the sadistic pleasure of getting people angry/depressed over nothing. You either troll them or not.

Anyways, I guess it's kind of cute. Pointless, but cute.
