I wrote a couple of games in PetitBasic and enjoyed the coding, but the media asset creation and integration was dire. Hopefully you'll be able to import assets this time. I bought SmileBasic too, but never actually used it.
Having now played through the game I would have to say that I would definitely have given it a higher score than 6/10.
I thoroughly enjoyed it; the humour really does shine through. Sure, it's a more sedate affair than the console Pikmin games, but it definitely looks and feels like a Pikmin game and is not without challenge. It's a pretty relaxing and fun experience.
And honestly, I really don't see how any developer could have done much more with a Pikmin game on a handheld; emulating the original is definitely not possible on the 3DS.
I'm not going to quadruple dip for this. Not yet anyway...
Loved this on 3DS, Vita and pc. It was always waaaaaaaay too short - SD2 rectified this somewhat, but I could still play for a few (hundred) more hours.
When I read "Shinobi Refle: Senran Kagura" I thought it was a Shinobi game. As a fan of the Sega franchise I immediately went to YouTube and... err, is it hot in here or is it me? Not what I was expecting!!! LOL
@Kalmaro - I absolutely love TBS games, but this one has me beat! The AI itself is quite dumb, but some of the NPCs are so over-powered you just don't stand a chance, no matter what slimes you use. I do enjoy the game, but it's a real grind. I'll probably stil lget it on the Switch though! LOL
@Kalmaro Yeah, no matter how much you level up your slimes, it really doesn't make much of a difference - you just last a little longer, maybe. I still go back to it occasionally, but progress is very slow.
The problem with the shrines is that they were mostly exactly the same, with very few dungeon elements or challenges. Beating yet another guardian became boring very quickly.
I backed this when it was on KickStarter. The KS failed, but thankfully development was continuing anyway. Yeah, it may not be an official Advance Wars game, but hopefully it'll play as well and keep us going until one does finally arrive (fingers crossed!).
I coded a version of this a couple of years ago for the OpenPandora and Windows pc. It's a great little puzzle game. If the price is right I'll definitely give it a shot.
As others have mentioned, the Switch version actually looks worse. I'm glad I 100% completed the WiiU version as I don;t even have to think about getting the Switch version now. And those load times? LOL
I really wish they had left the BOTW WiiU game as it was and didn't actually bring the game to the Switch at all. They could have concentrated on other franchises for launch; we'd still have BOTW, but we'd have something else for Switch too. They could have then made a sequel (of BOTW) or used it's engine for a different Zelda game for Switch later.
@lemonjellydude I saw a newspaper ad the other day showing all three consoles next to each other (PS4 500GB HD + game, £199. XBox1 500GB HD + game, £229. WiiU 32GB + Minecraft £249).
Seriously, who is going to buy a WiiU based on that advert?
@dizzy_boy Yeah I've noticed the reduced hits too; both from those outlets mentioned as well as some supermarkets, such as Tesco and Asda as well as coffee shops and cafes.
I really love the StreetPass games, especially Puzzle, but it's going to be nigh on impossible to grab any pink squares now (if there are any more puzzles, that is).
It is definitely the end - which is strange really, as if the NX is a portable, then that could also use the StreetPass system.
@wiggleronacid
Yes, Picross 3D was released outside of Japan for the Nintendo DS; I have the European version. Completed it many times Best DS game ever (IMHO).
I've bought all 6 "Picross e" games. They've really not evolved much and aren't worth the asking price. However, no doubt I'll get this one too. I'm a sucker!
I'm still waiting for Picross 3D2 to come to Europe though. How long have we got to wait for that. It can't be that hard to translate
Did the author forget to mention the bugs, crashes and slow speeds of Miitomo at times? Loading times are also awful.
Its annoying that the question list is also very limited - I've been asked certain "once only" questions several times. It's ok asking what you had for dinner last night, but being asked what month is your birthday more than once is pointless.
But... despite its many flaws, it really is a nice time waster and engaging with friends we know (and many we don't) is great.
Those drop games though - I'm sure some of the prizes are impossible to obtain...
Some of the ideas above are great - and that is why the patent system, as it is now, should be scrapped. It stifles creativity rather than protecting the orginal creator's ideas and works. The recent patent lawsuits have showed the system is terribly broken.
The original Picross3D is still my most played game on any system. I've played through every puzzle at least 3 time and played the "Random" puzzle hundreds of times. Can't wait for this to get a European release
While I have bought every Picross e game so far, they're really not giving us much in the recent examples. I've written Picross games myself - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z1yC46ja0Q8 and they are incredibly easy to create. The later Picross e games are using the same engine as the original games, so it's all a matter of adding puzzles, which really doesn't take long. And to that end, the increments are poor and expensive as all the hard work has already been done. Also the control scheme still sucks - why not use the Picross3D (best Picross game evee IMHO) method of UP/DOWN to destroy or mark. Or even just have a toggle on the on-screen buttons? Lazy, easy money. But I'm a sucker so... in e7 please give us MORE Micross puzzles.

I agree with Glen here, Mario vs Rabbids has been my favourite game out of a bunch of must have titles for the Switch.

I didn't see that coming, that's for sure... :/
Could be interesting.
Re: Video: The 21 Best GameCube Games Money Can Buy
I actually own 19 of those 21 (plus many others that aren't). A pretty good list that. BTW Burnout and F-Zero are the ones that I don't have.

Re: ACORN Tactics Combines Turn-Based Strategy, Mechs and Alien Blobs

Re: Review: Oxenfree (Switch eShop)
@gcunit - I've got it in my STEAM library too, so it must have been part of a bundle, as I've only ever bought one individual STEAM game.
I probably would have got it on Switch, having seen the preview recently, but not really much point now.

Sorry, but that's one sale lost

Re: You'll Now Be Able To Play Mini-Games During Loading Times
@Nintenjoe64 Yeah, I'm surprised the patent was granted for exactly the same reason. Myabe it was claimed to be a "console" specific thing.
I remember a number of games on C64 and Amstrad CPC that had mini-games while loading.

Shame.
