Re: Review: Hey! Pikmin (3DS)

Having now played through the game I would have to say that I would definitely have given it a higher score than 6/10.

I thoroughly enjoyed it; the humour really does shine through. Sure, it's a more sedate affair than the console Pikmin games, but it definitely looks and feels like a Pikmin game and is not without challenge. It's a pretty relaxing and fun experience.

And honestly, I really don't see how any developer could have done much more with a Pikmin game on a handheld; emulating the original is definitely not possible on the 3DS.

@gcunit - I've got it in my STEAM library too, so it must have been part of a bundle, as I've only ever bought one individual STEAM game.

I probably would have got it on Switch, having seen the preview recently, but not really much point now.

@dizzy_boy
Yeah I've noticed the reduced hits too; both from those outlets mentioned as well as some supermarkets, such as Tesco and Asda as well as coffee shops and cafes.

I really love the StreetPass games, especially Puzzle, but it's going to be nigh on impossible to grab any pink squares now (if there are any more puzzles, that is).

It is definitely the end - which is strange really, as if the NX is a portable, then that could also use the StreetPass system.

I've bought all 6 "Picross e" games. They've really not evolved much and aren't worth the asking price. However, no doubt I'll get this one too. I'm a sucker!

I'm still waiting for Picross 3D2 to come to Europe though. How long have we got to wait for that. It can't be that hard to translate

Did the author forget to mention the bugs, crashes and slow speeds of Miitomo at times? Loading times are also awful.

Its annoying that the question list is also very limited - I've been asked certain "once only" questions several times. It's ok asking what you had for dinner last night, but being asked what month is your birthday more than once is pointless.

But... despite its many flaws, it really is a nice time waster and engaging with friends we know (and many we don't) is great.

Those drop games though - I'm sure some of the prizes are impossible to obtain...

While I have bought every Picross e game so far, they're really not giving us much in the recent examples. I've written Picross games myself - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z1yC46ja0Q8 and they are incredibly easy to create. The later Picross e games are using the same engine as the original games, so it's all a matter of adding puzzles, which really doesn't take long. And to that end, the increments are poor and expensive as all the hard work has already been done. Also the control scheme still sucks - why not use the Picross3D (best Picross game evee IMHO) method of UP/DOWN to destroy or mark. Or even just have a toggle on the on-screen buttons? Lazy, easy money. But I'm a sucker so... in e7 please give us MORE Micross puzzles.
