There's a reason we're happily sharing new videos and information on Picross 3D 2 on a regular basis, and that's due to our hope that it'll eventually make its way to the West. A sequel to the popular DS game, it's a budget retail title in Japan but, should it be localised, could be a good candidate for an eShop-only arrival.
It looks like a safe continuation of the original, unsurprisingly, though will naturally have improved visuals on the 3DS. It's also set to include some amiibo support to unlock special puzzles.
Ahead of its upcoming arrival in October, Nintendo has released some new videos to promote its charms. There's a lengthy video with a father and daughter playing through some puzzles, along with two short TV commercials.

Are you keen to play this one on your 3DS? Let us know.

Definitely looking forward to this, so much.
Hoping it gets a European release like before too.
Must contain hype.
Dang region locking! I played the Japanese version on my DS a year before the US version came out. Quite the clever game although the puzzles were small but challenging...
Can't wait to play this in a couple of days
This needs to come to the States.
Oh cool, a game that will never come out in the states being advertised with a system color and cover plates that will never come out in the states.
This should come to the West, but first they'll have to bring Devilish Brain Training to Europe(which might still be scheduled for a 2015 release according to some retailers).
@SuperWiiU It's a farce. It will never come out, lol. Brain Training has been listed as TBD in the release lists for over 3 years now, lol.
@ianolivia the white NEW 3DS will be released this Friday in that Happy Home Designer bundle. Yes the cover plates aren't going to be released in the US but it's not that expensive to import them from Japan.
I really want this game and I'm not too sure about it never being released here in NA since those Picross e games were released here.
Sadly, I can see this never making the trip over the Pacific. Thank goodness I just picked up a Japanese 3DS! (Worth it for Theatrhythm Dragon Quest alone.)
For anyone who has a Japanese 3DS range device. Nintendo released a Picross 3D 2 Streetpass puzzle yesterday. Its a small one with no pink pieces.
Pre ordered from Amazon.jp, was playing the demo last night and it's very good.. Very tutorial heavy though!!
I really hope this is localized, not text heavy and puzzle games are popular, specially on handhelds.
There gotes my freetime again...
Really hope this comes across! Can't believe it's taken this long to get a Picross 3D on the 3DS. Especially when we've had 6 Picross-e titles.
I loved Picross DS and I've played all of the e series. I don't see any reason why they shouldn't localize this, these games aren't very text heavy.
I couldn't be more excited for this, as I regularly break out my Picross 3D copy when homework is too much.
Seeing as we have Picross DS, I'm doubtful that this will never get a west release.
But seriously, why can't NoA make good adds like how its done in Japan?
I have the original on DS and I love it. It was one of the first DS games I had and overall one of the better puzzle experiences I've played. Very excited for this so I'm hoping that it comes over here!
